Hadith 1941
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ . ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، قال هَنَّادٌ , قال الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ ، وَقال سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قال : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ , أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ , وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ , وَإِبْرَارِ الْقَسَمِ , وَنُصْرَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ , وَإِفْشَاءِ السَّلَامِ , وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي , وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ ، وَنَهَانَا عَنْ خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ , وَعَنْ آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ , وَعَنِ الْمَيَاثِرِ , وَالْقَسِّيَّةِ , وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ , وَالْحَرِيرِ , وَالدِّيبَاجِ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Bara bin 'Azib said:` "The Messenger of Allah commanded us to do seven things, and forbade us form seven things. He commanded us to visit the risk, to reply (say: Yarhamuk Allah, may Allah have mercy on you) to one who sneezes, to fulfill our oaths, to support the oppressed, to spread the greeting of Salam, to accept invitation, and to attend funerals. And he forbade us from using gold rings, silver vessels, Mayathir, the Qasiyyah, Al-Istabraq, silk and Ad-Dibaj."
Hadith 3809
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ : " أَمَرَنَا بِاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ ، وَعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ ، وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ ، وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي ، وَنَصْرِ الْمَظْلُومِ ، وَإِبْرَارِ الْقَسَمِ ، وَرَدِّ السَّلَامِ " .
´Al-Bara' bin 'Azib said:` "The Messenger of Allah commanded us to do seven things: He commanded us to attend funerals, visit the sick, to reply (say: Yarhamuk Allah [may Allah have mercy on you]) to one who sneezes, to accept invitations, to support the oppressed, to fulfill oaths (when adjured by another) and to return greetings of Salaam."
Hadith 5311
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ ، وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ نَهَانَا عَنْ : خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ ، وَعَنْ آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ ، وَعَنِ الْمَيَاثِرِ ، وَالْقَسِّيَّةِ ، وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ ، وَالدِّيبَاجِ ، وَالْحَرِيرِ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Bara' bin 'Azib said:` "The Messenger of Allah [SAW] enjoined seven things upon us, and forbade seven things for us. He forbade to us gold rings, silver vessels, Al-Mayathir, Al-Qassiyah, Al-Istabraq, Ad-Dibaj, and silk."
