Hadith 67
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغَفَّلِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ وَرَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَالْغَنَمِ ، وَقَالَ : " إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَعَفِّرُوهُ الثَّامِنَةَ بِالتُّرَابِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Al-Mughaffal that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded that dogs be killed, but he made an exception for hunting dogs and sheepdogs and said:` "If a dog licks a vessel then wash it seven times, and rub it the eighth time with dust."
Hadith 337
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَالْغَنَمِ " . وَقَالَ : " إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ ، فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَعَفِّرُوهُ الثَّامِنَةَ بِالتُّرَابِ " .

Hadith 338
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ ، قال : " أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ ، قَالَ : مَا بَالُهُمْ وَبَالُ الْكِلَابِ ؟ قَالَ : وَرَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَكَلْبِ الْغَنَمِ " . وَقَالَ : " إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ ، فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَعَفِّرُوا الثَّامِنَةَ بِالتُّرَابِ " . خَالَفَهُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَقَالَ : إِحْدَاهُنَّ بِالتُّرَابِ .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded that dogs be killed. He said: 'What do they have to do with dogs?' And he granted a concession regarding hunting dogs and sheepdogs. And he said: 'If a dog licks a vessel, wash it seven times, and rub it the eighth time with dust.' Abu Hurairah differed from him and said: 'Rub it one time with dust.'"
Hadith 673
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ، قال : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اجْعَلْنِي إِمَامَ قَوْمِي ، فَقَالَ : " أَنْتَ إِمَامُهُمْ وَاقْتَدِ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ ، وَاتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا لَا يَأْخُذُ عَلَى أَذَانِهِ أَجْرًا " .
´It was narrated that 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As said:` "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah (S.A.W), make me the Imam of my people.' He said: 'You are their Imam, so consider the weakest among them and choose a Mu'adhdhin who does not accept any payment for his Adhan.'"
Hadith 1049
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قال : أَنْبَأَنِي قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قالت : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ : سُبُّوحٌ قُدُّوسٌ رَبُّ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالرُّوحِ " .
´It was narrated that Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say when bowing: 'Subbuhun Quddusun Rabbul-mala'ikati war-ruh (Perfect, Most Holy, is the Lord of the angels and the spirit).'"
Hadith 1083
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، قال : " صَلَّيْتُ أَنَا وَعِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ خَلْفَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَكَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا نَهَضَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ كَبَّرَ فَلَمَّا قَضَى أَخَذَ عِمْرَانُ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ : لَقَدْ ذَكَّرَنِي هَذَا قَالَ كَلِمَةً يَعْنِي صَلَاةَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´It was narrated that Mutarrif said:` "Imran bin Husain and I prayed behind Ali bin Abi Talib. When he prostrated he said the Takbir, and when he raised his head from prostration he said the takbir, and when he stood up following two rak'ahs he said the takbir, and when he had finished praying, 'Imran took my hand and said: 'This reminded me of- he said a word meaning- the prayer of Muhammad (ﷺ).'"
Hadith 1135
أَخْبَرَنَا بُنْدَارٌ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ وَسُجُودِهِ : " سُبُّوحٌ قُدُّوسٌ رَبُّ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالرُّوحِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said when bowing and prostrating: 'Subbuhun Quddusun Rabbul-mala'ikati war'ruh (Perfect, Most Holy, Lord of the Angels and the Spirit)."
Hadith 1181
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا غَيْلَانُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " صَلَّى عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ , فَكَانَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي كُلِّ خَفْضٍ وَرَفْعٍ يُتِمُّ التَّكْبِيرَ " , فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ : لَقَدْ ذَكَّرَنِي هَذَا صَلَاةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´It was narrated that Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah said:` "Ali bin Abi Talib prayed, and he said the takbir every time he went down and came up, in all movements of the prayer. 'Imran bin Husain said: 'This reminds me of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).'"
Hadith 1215
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَلِجَوْفِهِ أَزِيزٌ كَأَزِيزِ الْمِرْجَلِ يَعْنِي : يَبْكِي " .
´It was narrated from Mutarrif that his father said:` "I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was praying, and there was a sound coming from his chest like the sound of water boiling," meaning, he was weeping.
Hadith 1852
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، أَنَّ قَيْسَ بْنَ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَنُوحُوا عَلَيَّ ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يُنَحْ عَلَيْهِ " مُخْتَصَرٌ .
´It was narrated from Hakim bin Qais, that Qais bin 'Asim said:` "Do not wail over me, for no one wailed over the Messenger of Allah." This is an abridgment.
Hadith 2232
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، أَنَّ مُطَرِّفًا رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ دَعَا لَهُ بِلَبَنٍ لِيَسْقِيَهُ ، فَقَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ ، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ " .
´It was narrated from Saeed bin Abi Hind that Mutarrif a man from Banu 'Amir bin Sa'sa'ah told him that:` 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As called for milk to be given to him (Mutarrif) to drink. Mutarrif said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Fasting is a shield like the shield of any one of you in battle."' Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Sahih
Hadith 2233
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ فَدَعَا بِلَبَنٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ " .
´It was narrated that Mutarrif said:` "I entered upon 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As and he called for milk. I said: I am fasting; He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Fasting is a shield like the of any one of you in battle."' Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Sahih
Hadith 2234
أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلَ مُطَرِّفٌ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ نَحْوَهُ مُرْسَلٌ .
´It was narrated that Saeed bin Abi Hind said:` "Mutarrif entered upon 'Uthman" and he narrated something similar in Mursal from. Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Sahih
Hadith 2381
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ! إِنَّ فُلَانًا لَا يُفْطِرُ نَهَارًا الدَّهْرَ , قَالَ : " لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Imran said:` "It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so and so never broke his fast, even for one day for the rest of his life.' He said: 'He has neither fasted nor broken his fast."" 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."
Hadith 2382
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدٌ ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ يَصُومُ الدَّهْرَ , قَالَ : " لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ " .
´It was narrated from Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir:` "My father told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah say, when mention was made in his presence of a man who fasted for the rest of his life: 'He neither fasted nor broke his fast."' 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."
Hadith 2383
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ : " لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ " .
´Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir narrated from his father that:` the Messenger of Allah said, concerning one who fasted for the rest of his life: "He neither fasted nor broke his fast." 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."
Hadith 2397
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : ذَكَرْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّوْمَ , فَقَالَ : " صُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ عَشَرَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا وَلَكَ أَجْرُ تِلْكَ التِّسْعَةِ " , فَقُلْتُ : إِنِّي أَقْوَى مِنْ ذَلِكَ , قَالَ : " صُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ تِسْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا وَلَكَ أَجْرُ تِلْكَ الثَّمَانِيَةِ " , قُلْتُ : إِنِّي أَقْوَى مَنْ ذَلِكَ , قَالَ : " فَصُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ ثَمَانِيَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا وَلَكَ أَجْرُ تِلْكَ السَّبْعَةِ " , قُلْتُ : إِنِّي أَقْوَى مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ : فَلَمْ يَزَلْ حَتَّى , قَالَ : " صُمْ يَوْمًا وَأَفْطِرْ يَوْمًا " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said:` 'Amr said: "I spoke to the Prophet and he said: 'Fast one day out of ten and you will have the reward of the other nine.' I said: 'I am able to do more than that.' He said: 'Fast one day out of eight and you will have the reward of the other eight.' I said: 'I am able to do more than that.' He said: 'Fast one day out of eight and you will have the reward of the other seven.' I said: 'I am able to do more than that.' 'Fast one day and not the next."'
Hadith 2413
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، أَنَّ مُطَرِّفًا حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " صِيَامٌ حَسَنٌ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ " .
´'Uthman bin Abi Al-As said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'It is a good fast to fast three days of each month".
Hadith 2727
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا يَقُولُ : قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ : " جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ حَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ ، ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْهَى عَنْهَا ، وَقَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ بِتَحْرِيمِهِ " .
´'Imran bin Husain said:` "The Messenger of Allah combined Hajj and "Umrah, then he passed away before he could forbid that, and before Qur'an was revealed forbidding it.
Hadith 2728
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " جَمَعَ بَيْنَ حَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنْزِلْ فِيهَا كِتَابٌ ، وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهُمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ، قَالَ : فِيهِمَا رَجُلٌ بِرَأْيِهِ مَا شَاءَ .
´It was narrated from 'Imran:` That the Messenger of Allah combined Hajj and "Umrah, then no Qur'an was revealed concerning that, and the Prophet did not forbid it, regardless of what one man may say.
Hadith 2729
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَاسِعٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ : " تَمَتَّعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثَلَاثَةٌ هَذَا أَحَدُهُمْ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ , وَإِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ شَيْخٌ يَرْوِي عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ , وَإِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ يَرْوِي عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَالْحَسَنُ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .
´It was narrated that Mutarrif bin `Abdullah said:` "`Imran bin Husain said to me: 'We performed Tamattu` with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).'" Abu Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasa'i) said: There are three (named) Isma`il bin Muslim; this is one of them, and there is no harm in him. And Shaikh Isma`il bin Muslim who reports from Abu Tufail, there is no harm in him. And Isma`il bin Muslim who reports from Az-Zuhri and Al-Hasan, he is abandoned in Hadith.
Hadith 2740
أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ وَاسِعٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ : " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ تَمَتَّعَ ، وَتَمَتَّعْنَا مَعَهُ " , قَالَ فِيهَا قَائِلٌ بِرَأْيِهِ .
´It was narrated that Mutarrif said:` "Imran bin Husain said to me; 'The Messenger of Allah performed 'Umrah and Hajj together, and we performed 'Umrah and Hajj together with him, and whoever says anything different, that is his own personal opinion.
Hadith 3643
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ { 1 } حَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ { 2 } سورة التكاثر آية 1-2 ، قَالَ : يَقُولُ ابْنُ آدَمَ : مَالِي مَالِي ، وَإِنَّمَا مَالُكَ مَا أَكَلْتَ فَأَفْنَيْتَ ، أَوْ لَبِسْتَ فَأَبْلَيْتَ ، أَوْ تَصَدَّقْتَ فَأَمْضَيْتَ " .
´It was narrated from Mutarrif, from his father, that the Prophet said:` "The mutual rivalry (for piling up of worldly things) diverts you, 'Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die).' The son of Adam says: 'My wealth, my wealth,' but your wealth is what you eat and consume, or what you wear and it wears out, or what you give in charity and send on ahead (for the Hereafter).'"
