Hadith 1
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تُقْبَلُ صَلَاةٌ بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ وَلَا صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ غُلُولٍ ". قَالَ هَنَّادٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " إِلَّا بِطُهُورٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ أَصَحُّ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ وَأَحْسَنُ , وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , وَأَنَسٍ , وَأَبُو الْمَلِيحِ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ اسْمُهُ عَامِرٌ ، وَيُقَالُ : زَيْدُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ .
´Ibn `Umar narrated that:` the Prophet said: "Salat will not be accepted without purification, nor Charity from Ghulul." Hannad said in his narration, "except with purification" [Abu `Eisa said: This Hadith is the most correct thing on this topic, and the best. There are also narrations on this topic from Abu Al-Malih, from his father; and Abu Hurairah and Anas. And Abu Al-Malih bin Usamah's name is `Amir, and they also say it was Zaid bin Usamah bin `Umair Al-Hudhali.
Hadith 259
قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ : قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ : " كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ " فَنُهِينَا عَنْهُ ، وَأُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَضَعَ الْأَكُفَّ عَلَى الرُّكَبِ " قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ بِهَذَا ، وَأَبُو حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، وَأَبُو أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ اسْمُهُ : مَالِكُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، وَأَبُو حَصِينٍ اسْمُهُ : عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ اسْمُهُ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، وَأَبُو يَعْفُورٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ ، وَأَبُو يَعْفُورٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ اسْمُهُ : وَاقِدٌ وَيُقَالُ وَقْدَانُ ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى وَكِلَاهُمَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ .
´Sa'd bin Abi Waqas said:` "We would do that, but then we were prohibited from it, and we were ordered to put our hands on our knees."
Hadith 2398
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَشَدُّ بَلَاءً ؟ قَالَ : " الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ، ثُمَّ الْأَمْثَلُ ، فَالْأَمْثَلُ ، فَيُبْتَلَى الرَّجُلُ عَلَى حَسَبِ دِينِهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ دِينُهُ صُلْبًا اشْتَدَّ بَلَاؤُهُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ فِي دِينِهِ رِقَّةٌ ابْتُلِيَ عَلَى حَسَبِ دِينِهِ ، فَمَا يَبْرَحُ الْبَلَاءُ بِالْعَبْدِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَهُ يَمْشِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مَا عَلَيْهِ خَطِيئَةٌ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وفي الباب عن أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , وَأُخْتِ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَشَدُّ بَلَاءً ؟ قَالَ : الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ثُمَّ الْأَمْثَلُ فَالْأَمْثَلُ .
´Mus'ab bin Sa'd narrated from his father that a man said:` "O Messenger of Allah(s.a.w)! Which of the people is tried most severely?" He said: "The Prophets, then those nearest to them, then those nearest to them. A man is tried according to his religion; if he is firm in his religion, then his trials are more severe, and if he is frail in his religion, then he is tried according to the strength of his religion. The servant shall continue to be tried until he is left walking upon the earth without any sins."
Hadith 2735
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي جَهْلٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ جِئْتُهُ : " مَرْحَبًا بِالرَّاكِبِ الْمُهَاجِرِ " ، وَفِي الْبَابِ ، عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَأَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِصَحِيحٍ ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِثْلَ هَذَا إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُوسَى بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ضَعِيفٌ فِي الْحَدِيثِ ، وَرَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق مُرْسَلًا ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْت مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ بَشَّارٍ يَقُولُ ، مُوسَى بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ضَعِيفٌ فِي الْحَدِيثِ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ : وَكَتَبْتُ كَثِيرًا عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ثُمَّ تَرَكْتُهُ .
´Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:` "Indeed the first batch to enter Paradise will appear like the moon of a night that is full. The second will appear like the color of the most beautiful (brightest) star in the sky. Each man among them shall have two wives, each wife wearing seventy bracelets, with the marrow of their shins being visible from behind them." (Another chain) from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri who narrated that the Prophet SAW said: "The first batch to enter Paradise will appear like the moon of a night that it is full. Each man among them shall have two wives, each wife wearing seventy bracelets, with the marrow of their shins being visible from behind them."
Hadith 3079
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ بَدْرٍ جِئْتُ بِسَيْفٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ شَفَى صَدْرِي مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا ، هَبْ لِي هَذَا السَّيْفَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَذَا لَيْسَ لِي وَلَا لَكَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : عَسَى أَنْ يُعْطَى هَذَا مَنْ لَا يُبْلِي بَلَائِي ، فَجَاءَنِي الرَّسُولُ فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكَ سَأَلْتَنِي وَلِيس لِي وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ صَارَ لِي وَهُوَ لَكَ ، قَالَ : فَنَزَلَتْ يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ سورة الأنفال آية 1 " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَقَدْ رَوَاه سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ مُصْعَبٍ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَيْضًا ، وَفِي الْبَابِ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ .
´Narrated Mus'ab bin Sa'd:` from his father who said: "On the Day of Badr I brought a sword so I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Indeed Allah has satisfied my breast (i.e. my desire) on the idolaters - or something like that - give me this sword.' So he said: 'This is not for me, nor is it for you.' I said: 'Perhaps he will give this to someone who did not go through some struggle I went through (fighting).' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to me [and he said:] 'You asked me, but it was not up to me. But now it has occurred that it is up to me, so it is yours.'" He said: "So (the following) was revealed: They ask you about the spoils of war (8:1)."
Hadith 3095
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ غُطَيْفِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي عُنُقِي صَلِيبٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا عَدِيُّ ، اطْرَحْ عَنْكَ هَذَا الْوَثَنَ ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ فِي سُورَةِ بَرَاءَةٌ اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ سورة التوبة آية 31 ، قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَعْبُدُونَهُمْ ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا أَحَلُّوا لَهُمْ شَيْئًا اسْتَحَلُّوهُ وَإِذَا حَرَّمُوا عَلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا حَرَّمُوهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، وَغُطَيْفُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ لَيْسَ بِمَعْرُوفٍ فِي الْحَدِيثِ .
´Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim:` "I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while I had a cross of gold around my neck. He said: 'O 'Adi! Remove this idol from yourself!' And I heard him reciting from Surah Bara'ah: They took their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allah (9:31). He said: 'As for them, they did not worship them, but when they made something lawful for them, they considered it lawful, and when they made something unlawful for them, they considered it unlawful.'"
Hadith 3189
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَال : سَمِعْتُ مُصْعَبَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ : أُنْزِلَتْ فِيَّ أَرْبَعُ آيَاتٍ ، فَذَكَرَ قِصَّةً ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَعْدٍ : أَلَيْسَ قَدْ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِالْبِرِّ ؟ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَطْعَمُ طَعَامًا وَلَا أَشْرَبُ شَرَابًا حَتَّى أَمُوتَ أَوْ تَكْفُرَ ، قَالَ : فَكَانُوا إِذَا أَرَادُوا أَنْ يُطْعِمُوهَا شَجَرُوا فَاهَا ، فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ : وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي سورة العنكبوت آية 8 الْآيَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Narrated Mus'ab bin Sa'd:` that his father, Sa'd, said: "Four Ayat were revealed about me" and he mentioned the story. Umm Sa'd had said: "Did not Allah command you to honor (your parents). By Allah! I will not eat or drink anything until I die or you renounce (Islam)." He said: "So when they wanted to make her eat, they would force her mouth open. So this Ayah was revealed: And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you associate (partners) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not (29:8)."
Hadith 3463
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى الْجُهَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي مُصْعَبُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِجُلَسَائِهِ : " أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَكْسِبَ أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ ؟ " فَسَأَلَهُ سَائِلٌ مِنْ جُلَسَائِهِ : كَيْفَ يَكْسِبُ أَحَدُنَا أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ ؟ قَالَ : " يُسَبِّحُ أَحَدُكُمْ مِائَةَ تَسْبِيحَةٍ تُكْتَبُ لَهُ أَلْفُ حَسَنَةٍ وَتُحَطُّ عَنْهُ أَلْفُ سَيِّئَةٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Mus`ab bin Sa`d narrated from his father, that :` the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to those sitting with him: “Is one of you incapable of attaining a thousand good deeds?” So a questioner among those seated with him asked him: “How can one of us earn a thousand good deeds?” He said: “(When) one of you recites a hundred Tasbīḥāt a thousand good deeds are written for him, and a thousand evil deeds are wiped away from him.”
Hadith 3567
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ هُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّقِّيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، وَعَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ , قَالَا : كَانَ سَعْدٌ يُعَلِّمُ بَنِيهِ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُ الْمُكَتِّبُ الْغِلْمَانَ وَيَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ بِهِنَّ دُبُرَ الصَّلَاةِ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ " . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : أَبُو إِسْحَاق الْهَمْدَانِيُّ مُضْطَرِبٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، وَيَقُولُ : عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، وَيَقُولُ : عَنْ غَيْرِهِ وَيَضْطَرِبُ فِيهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
´Mus`ab bin Sa`d and `Amr bin Maimun narrated:` “Sa`d used to teach his children these words just as the Muktib teaches children, he would say: ‘Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge by saying them at the end of (every) Salat: O Allah I seek refuge in You from cowardliness, I seek refuge in You from miserliness, I seek refuge in You from feeble old age, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the world, and the punishment of the grave (Allāhumma innī a`ūdhu bika minal-jubn, wa a`ūdhu bika minal-bukhl, wa a`ūdhu bika min ardhalil-`umur, wa a`ūdhu bika min fitnatid-dunyā wa `adhābil qabr).’”
