Hadith 23
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ الْبَطِينُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا أَخْطَأَنِي ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَشِيَّةَ خَمِيسٍ إِلَّا أَتَيْتُهُ فِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لِشَيْءٍ قَطُّ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَلَمَّا كَانَ ذَاتَ عَشِيَّةٍ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَنَكَسَ ، فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَهُوَ قَائِمٌ مُحَلَّلَةً أَزْرَارُ قَمِيصِهِ ، قَدِ اغْرَوْرَقَتْ عَيْنَاهُ ، وَانْتَفَخَتْ أَوْدَاجُهُ " ، قَالَ : أَوْ دُونَ ذَلِكَ ، أَوْ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ ، أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ ، أَوْ شَبِيهًا بِذَلِكَ .
´Amr bin Maimun said :` "I used to visit Ibn Mas'ud every Thursday afternoon but he never uttered the words: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said.' Then one evening, he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,' then he let his head hang down." He said: "I looked at him and saw his shirt was unfastened; his eyes were filled with tears, and his veins were bulging out (with fear). He said:' Or more than that, or less than that, or close to that or something similar.'"
Hadith 821
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُخَوَّلٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ : الم تَنْزِيلُ وَ هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “For the Subh prayer on Fridays, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite ‘Alif-Lam-Mim. The revelation...’ [32:1] and ‘Has there not been over man...’” [76:1]
Hadith 1727
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي الْعَشْرَ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back.”
Hadith 1758
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، وَالْحَكَمِ ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، وَعَطَاءٍ ، وَمُجاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أُخْتِي مَاتَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا صِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ ، قَالَ : " أَرَأَيْتِ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أُخْتِكِ دَيْنٌ أَكُنْتِ تَقْضِينَهُ ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : بَلَى ، قَالَ : " فَحَقُّ اللَّهِ أَحَقُّ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “A woman came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, my sister has died and she owed a fast of two consecutive months.’ He said: ‘Do you not think that if your sister owed a debt, you would pay it off for her?’ She said: ‘Of course.’ He said: ‘The right of Allah is greater.’”
