Hadith 2188
حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَحِلُّ بَيْعُ مَا لَيْسَ عِنْدَكَ ، وَلَا رِبْحُ مَا لَمْ يُضْمَنْ " .
´It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'It is not permissible to sell something that is not with you, nor to profit from what you do not possess."'
Hadith 2197
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ حَبَلِ الْحَبَلَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that :` the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade selling Hablul-Habalah.
Hadith 2266
حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ مِينَاءَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ " .
´lt was narrated from Sabir bin 'Abdullah that :` the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade the Muhaqalah and the Muzabanah.
Hadith 2535
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ بَدَّلَ دِينَهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn`Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever changes his religion, execute him.”
Hadith 2627
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " قَتِيلُ الْخَطَإِ شِبْهِ الْعَمْدِ قَتِيلُ السَّوْطِ وَالْعَصَا مِائَةٌ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ أَرْبَعُونَ مِنْهَا خَلِفَةً فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلَادُهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin 'Amr that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Killing by mistake that resembles intentionally, is killing with a whip or stick, for which the blood money is one hundred camels, of which forty should be pregnant she-camels in middle of their pregnancies, with their young in their wombs.”
Hadith 2760
حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى اللَّيْثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَفْضَلُ دِينَارٍ يُنْفِقُهُ الرَّجُلُ دِينَارٌ يُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ ، وَدِينَارٌ يُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَدِينَارٌ يُنْفِقُهُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Thawban that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The best Dinar that a man can spend is a Dinar that he spends on his family, a Dinar that he spends on a horse in the cause of Allah, and a Dinar that a man spends on his companions in the cause of Allah.”
Hadith 3039
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ أَبُو بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمْزَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَبَّى ، حَتَّى رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ " .
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) recited Talbiyah until he stoned ‘Aqabah Pillar.
Hadith 3049
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَّنْ قَدَّمَ شَيْئًا قَبْلَ شَيْءٍ ، إِلَّا يُلْقِي بِيَدَيْهِ كِلْتَيْهِمَا لَا حَرَجَ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was never asked about someone who had done one thing before another, but he would gesture with both his hands to say: ‘There is no harm in that.’”
Hadith 3112
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَفْعَلْ ، فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ لِمَنْ مَاتَ بِهَا " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` ‘Whoever among you can die in Al-Madinah, let him do so, for I will bear witness in favor of those who die there.”
Hadith 3151
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ " أَنَّ رَجُلًا ذَبَحَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ يَعْنِي قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُعِيدَ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that a man slaughtered on the Day of Sacrifice, (meaning) before the ‘Eid prayer, and the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him to do it again.
Hadith 3196
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ مُنَادِيَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَادَى : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ يَنْهَيَانِكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ ، فَإِنَّهَا رِجْسٌ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the caller of the Prophet (ﷺ) cried out:` “Allah and His Messenger forbid you to eat the flesh of domesticated donkeys, for it is filthy.”
Hadith 3226
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ : أَنَّ قَرِيبًا لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ خَذَفَ ، فَنَهَاهُ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى ، عَنِ الْخَذْفِ ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّهَا لَا تَصِيدُ صَيْدًا ، وَلَا تَنْكَأُ عَدُوًّا ، وَلَكِنَّهَا تَكْسِرُ السِّنَّ ، وَتَفْقَأُ الْعَيْنَ " ، قَالَ : فَعَادَ ، فَقَالَ : أُحَدِّثُكَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ ، ثُمَّ عُدْتَ لَا أُكَلِّمُكَ أَبَدًا .
´It was narrated from Sa’eed bin Jubair that a relative of ‘Abdullah bin Mughaffal threw some small pebbles. He told him not to do that and said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade throwing small pebbles and said: ‘They do not kill any game nor hurt the enemy, but they can break a tooth or put out an eye.’” He did it again, and he (‘Abdullah) said: “I tell you that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade that and then you go and do it again? I will never speak to you again.”
Hadith 3341
حَدَّثَنَا هَدِيَّةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ , حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السِّينَانِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ , عَنْ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ " وَدِدْتُ لَوْ أَنَّ عِنْدَنَا خُبْزَةً بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ بُرَّةٍ سَمْرَاءَ مُلَبَّقَةٍ بِسَمْنٍ نَأْكُلُهَا " ، قَالَ : فَسَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ , فَاتَّخَذَهُ فَجَاءَ بِهِ إِلَيْهِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ هَذَا السَّمْنُ ؟ " , قَالَ : فِي عُكَّةِ ضَبٍّ , قَالَ : فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَهُ .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:` “One day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘I wish that we had some white bread made of brown wheat, softened with ghee, that we could eat.’ A man from among the Ansar heard that, so he took some (of that food) and brought it to him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Where was this ghee kept?’ He said: ‘In a container made of mastigure skin.’ And he refused to eat it.”
Hadith 3420
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الصَّوَّافُ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , " عَنِ الشُّرْبِ مِنْ فِي السِّقَاءِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade drinking (directly) from the mouth of a water skin.”
Hadith 3735
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي , وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي " .
´It was narrated from Muhammad that they heard Abu Hurairah say:` "Abul Qasim(ﷺ) said: 'Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah."
Hadith 3783
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنْ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , قَالَ : قَال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْقُرْآنِ مَثَلُ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ , إِنْ تَعَاهَدَهَا صَاحِبُهَا بِعُقُلِهَا أَمْسَكَهَا عَلَيْهِ , وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَ عُقُلَهَا ذَهَبَتْ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "The likeness of the Quran is that of a hobbled camel. If its owner ties its rope, he will keep it, but if he loosens its rope it will go away."
Hadith 3916
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الصَّوَّافُ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ تَحَلَّمَ حُلُمًا كَاذِبًا , كُلِّفَ أَنْ يَعْقِدَ بَيْنَ شَعِيرَتَيْنِ , وَيُعَذَّبُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever tells of a false dream, will be ordered (on the Day of Resurrection) to tie two grains of barley together, and he will be punished for that.”
Hadith 3948
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الصَّوَّافُ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ , عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ , عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَاتَلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ , يَدْعُو إِلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ , أَوْ يَغْضَبُ لِعَصَبِيَّةٍ , فَقِتْلَتُهُ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever fights under a banner of folly, supporting tribalism, or getting angry for the sake of tribalism, he dies in a state of ignorance.”
