Hadith 429
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ammar bin Yasir said:` "I saw the Messenger of Allah running his fingers through his beard."
Hadith 566
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ ، قَالَ : " تَيَمَّمْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَنَاكِبِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ammar [bin Yasir] said:` "We did dry ablution with the Messenger of Allah, (wiping our arms) up to our shoulders."
Hadith 1784
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ ، وَجَامِعِ بْنِ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ ، سَمِعَا شَقِيقَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ يُخْبِرُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ ، إِلَّا مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ حَتَّى يُطَوِّقَ عُنُقَهُ " ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَلا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ سورة آل عمران آية 180 " الْآيَةَ .
´'Abdullah bin Masud (RAH) narrated that:` the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no one who does not pay Zakat on his wealth but a bald headed snake will be made to appear to him on the Day of Resurrection, until it encircles his neck.” Then the messenger of Allah recited the following Verse from the Book of Allah the Most High: “And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah had bestowed on them of His Bounty(wealth) think that is good for them”
Hadith 1909
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، وَغِيَاثُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّحَبِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَائِلُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِهِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوْلَمَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِسَوِيقٍ وَتَمْرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik:` that the Prophet offered Sawiq and dates as a wedding feast for Safiyyah.
Hadith 2094
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الَخَطَّابِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَهُ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ ، أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ " ، قَالَ عُمَرُ : فَمَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَا ذَاكِرًا ، وَلَا آثِرًا .
´It was narrated from Salim bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar, from his father, from 'Umar, that :` the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard him swearing by his father. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Allah forbids you from making oaths by your forefathers." 'Umar said: I never took an oath by them (i.e., my forefathers) myself nor narrating such words from anyone else.”
Hadith 2109
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزَّعْرَاءِ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجُشَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، يَأْتِينِي ابْنُ عَمِّي ، فَأَحْلِفُ أَنْ لَا أُعْطِيَهُ وَلَا أَصِلَهُ ، قَالَ : " كَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ " .
´It was narrated from Abul-Ahwas 'Awf bin Malik Al- Jushami that his father said:` "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my cousin comes to me and I swear that I will not give him anything or uphold the ties of kinship with him.' He said: 'Offer expiation for what you swore about.'"
Hadith 2162
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتَجَمَ وَأَعْطَاهُ أَجْرَهُ " . قَالَهُ : ابْنِ مَاجَةَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ وَحْدَهُ .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that :` the Prophet (ﷺ) was treated with cupping and he gave him (the cupper) his wages. (Sahih)Ibn Abu 'Umar was alone in narrating it. That was said by Ibn Majah. [1]
Hadith 2397
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّه بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ الْمِائَةَ سَهْمٍ الَّتِي بِخَيْبَرَ لَمْ أُصِبْ مَالًا قَطُّ هُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهَا ، وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " احْبِسْ أَصْلَهَا وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَهَا " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` “Umar bin Khattab said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), the one hundred shares of the Khaibar I have never been given any wealth that is more beloved to me than them, and I wanted to give them in charity.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Make it an endowment and give its produce in the cause of Allah (SWT).”
Hadith 2475
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا فَرَجُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي ثَابِتُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ ، أَنَّهُ اسْتَقْطَعَ الْمِلْحَ الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ مِلْحُ سُدِّ مَأْرِبٍ فَأَقْطَعَهُ لَهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي قَدْ وَرَدْتُ الْمِلْحَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَهُوَ بِأَرْضٍ لَيْسَ بِهَا مَاءٌ ، وَمَنْ وَرَدَهُ أَخَذَهُ ، وَهُوَ مِثْلُ الْمَاءِ الْعِدِّ ، فَاسْتَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْيَضَ بْنَ حَمَّالٍ فِي قَطِيعَتِهِ فِي الْمِلْحِ فَقَالَ : قَدْ أَقَلْتُكَ مِنْهُ عَلَى أَنْ تَجْعَلَهُ مِنِّي صَدَقَةً ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هُوَ مِنْكَ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَهُوَ مِثْلُ الْمَاءِ الْعِدِّ مَنْ وَرَدَهُ أَخَذَهُ " قَالَ فَرَجٌ : وَهُوَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ مَنْ وَرَدَهُ أَخَذَهُ ، قَالَ : فَقَطَعَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْضًا وَنَخْلًا بِالْجُرْفِ جُرْفِ مُرَادٍ مَكَانَهُ حِينَ أَقَالَهُ مِنْهُ .
´It was narrated from Abyad bin Hammal:` That he asked for a salt flat called the Ma'rib Dam to be given to him, and it was given to him. Then Aqra bin Habis At-Tamimi came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: “O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), I used to come to the salt flat during the Ignorance period and it was in a land in which there was no water, and whoever came to it took from it. It was (plentiful) like flowing water.” So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked Abyad bin Hammal to give back his share of the salt flat. He said: “I give it to you on the basis that you make it charity given by me.” The Messenger of Allah said: “It is a charity from you, and it is like flowing water, whoever comes to it may take from it.”(One of the narrators) Faraj said: “That is how it is today, whoever comes to it takes from it.” He said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) gave him land and palm trees in Jurf Murad instead, when he took back the salt flat from him.”
Hadith 2720
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بِابْنَتَيْ سَعْدٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَاتَانِ ابْنَتَا سَعْدٍ قُتِلَ مَعَكَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَإِنَّ عَمَّهُمَا أَخَذَ جَمِيعَ مَا تَرَكَ أَبُوهُمَا ، وَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ لَا تُنْكَحُ إِلَّا عَلَى مَالِهَا ، فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أُنْزِلَتْ آيَةُ الْمِيرَاثِ ، فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَا سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ فَقَالَ : " أَعْطِ ابْنَتَيْ سَعْدٍ ثُلُثَيْ مَالِهِ وَأَعْطِ امْرَأَتَهُ الثُّمُنَ وَخُذْ أَنْتَ مَا بَقِيَ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said:` “The wife of Sa’d bin Rabi’ came with the two daughters of Sa’d to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, these are the two daughters of Sa’d. He was killed with you on the day of Uhud, and their paternal uncle has taken all that their father left behind, and a woman is only married for her wealth.’ The Prophet (ﷺ) remained silent until the Verse of inheritance was revealed to him. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called the brother of Sa’d bin Rabi’ and said: ‘Give the two daughters of Sa’d two thirds of his wealth, and give his wife on eighth, and take what is left.’”
Hadith 3008
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " غَدَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ مِنْ مِنًى إِلَى عَرَفَةَ ، فَمِنَّا مَنْ يُكَبِّرُ ، وَمِنَّا مَنْ يُهِلُّ ، فَلَمْ يَعِبْ هَذَا عَلَى هَذَا ، وَلَا هَذَا عَلَى هَذَا ، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ : هَؤُلَاءِ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ ، وَلَا هَؤُلَاءِ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “We went in the morning on this day with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) from Mina to ‘Arafat. Some of us recited the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) and some of us recited the Tahlil (La ilaha illallah), and neither criticized the other.”
Hadith 3117
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَمَضَانَ بِمَكَّةَ فَصَامَ وَقَامَ مِنْهُ مَا تَيَسَّرَ لَهُ ، كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِيمَا سِوَاهَا ، وَكَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ يَوْمٍ عِتْقَ رَقَبَةٍ ، وَكُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ عِتْقَ رَقَبَةٍ ، وَكُلِّ يَوْمٍ حُمْلَانَ فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَفِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ حَسَنَةً ، وَفِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ حَسَنَةً " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever is in Makkah when the month of Ramadan comes, and he fasts it and prays at night as much as he can, Allah will record for him (reward equivalent to that for) one hundred thousand months of Ramadan observed elsewhere. For each day Allah will record for him (reward equivalent to that for) freeing a slave, and for each day (reward equivalent to that for) providing a horse in the cause of Allah, and for every day merits and for every night merits.”
Hadith 3118
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : طُفْنَا مَعَ أَبِي عِقَالٍ فِي مَطَرٍ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا طَوَافَنَا أَتَيْنَا خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ ، فَقَالَ : طُفْتُ مَعَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فِي مَطَرٍ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا الطَّوَافَ أَتَيْنَا الْمَقَامَ ، فَصَلَّيْنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ لَنَا أَنَسٌ : " ائْتَنِفُوا الْعَمَلَ ، فَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَكُمْ ، هَكَذَا قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَطُفْنَا مَعَهُ فِي مَطَرٍ " .
´Dawud bin ‘Ajlan said:` “We performed Tawaf with Abu ‘Iqal in the rain, and when we finished our Tawaf, we came behind the Maqam. He said: I performed Tawaf with Anas bin Malik in the rain. When we finished the Tawaf, we came behind the Maqam and prayed two Rak’ah.’ Anas said to us: ‘Start your deeds anew, for you have been forgiven. This is what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us when we performed Tawaf with him in the rain.’”
Hadith 3169
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا فَرَعَةَ وَلَا عَتِيرَةَ " ، قَالَ ابْن مَاجَةَ : هَذَا مِنْ فَرَائِدِ الْعَدَنِيِّ .
´It was narrated from Muhammad bin Abu (‘Umar) ‘Adani that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “There is no Far’ah and no ‘Atirah.”
Hadith 3269
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ طَعَامًا فَلَا يَمْسَحْ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا ، أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ يَسْأَلُ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ : أَرَأَيْتَ حَدِيثَ عَطَاءٍ ، لَا يَمْسَحْ أَحَدُكُمْ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا ، عَمَّنْ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ : عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : فَإِنَّهُ حُدِّثْنَاهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَفِظْنَاهُ مِنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْدَمَ جَابِرٌ عَلَيْنَا ، وَإِنَّمَا لَقِيَ عَطَاءٌ جَابِرًا فِي سَنَةٍ جَاوَرَ فِيهَا بِمَكَّةَ .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “When one of you eats food, let him not wipe his hand until he has licked it or has someone else to lick it.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ , عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ , عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النُّجُودِ , عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ , عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ , قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ , فَأَصْبَحْتُ يَوْمًا قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ , وَنَحْنُ نَسِيرُ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , أَخْبِرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ يُدْخِلُنِي الْجَنَّةَ وَيُبَاعِدُنِي مِنَ النَّارِ , قَالَ : " لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ عَظِيمًا , وَإِنَّهُ لَيَسِيرٌ عَلَى مَنْ يَسَّرَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ , تَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا , وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ , وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ , وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ , وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْخَيْرِ ؟ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ , وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ النَّارَ الْمَاءُ , وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ , ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ سورة السجدة آية 16 حَتَّى بَلَغَ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ سورة السجدة آية 17 " , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِرَأْسِ الْأَمْرِ وَعَمُودِهِ وَذُرْوَةِ سَنَامِهِ ؟ الْجِهَادُ " , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِمِلَاكِ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ ؟ " , قُلْتُ : بَلَى , فَأَخَذَ بِلِسَانِهِ , فَقَالَ : " تَكُفُّ عَلَيْكَ هَذَا " , قُلْتُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ , وَإِنَّا لَمُؤَاخَذُونَ بِمَا نَتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ , قَالَ : " ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ يَا مُعَاذُ , وَهَلْ يُكِبُّ النَّاسَ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ فِي النَّارِ إِلَّا حَصَائِدُ أَلْسِنَتِهِمْ " .
´It was narrated that Mu’adh bin Jabal said:` “I was with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on a journey. One morning I drew close to him when we were on the move and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, tell me of an action that will gain me admittance to Paradise and keep me far away from Hell.’ He said: ‘You have asked for something great, but it is easy for the one for whom Allah makes it easy. Worship Allah and do not associate anything in worship with Him, establish prayer, pay charity, fast Ramadan, and perform Hajj to the House.’ Then he said: ‘Shall I not tell you of the means of goodness? Fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire, and a man’s prayer in the middle of the night.’ Then he recited: “Their sides forsake their beds” until he reached: “As a reward for what they used to do.”[32:16-17] Then he said: ‘Shall I not tell you of the head of the matter, and its pillar and pinnacle? (It is) Jihad.’ Then he said: ‘Shall I not tell you of the basis of all that?’ I said: ‘Yes.’ He took hold of his tongue then said: ‘Restrain this.’ I said: ‘O Prophet of Allah, will we be brought to account for what we say?’ He said: ‘May your mother not found you, O Mu’adh! Are people thrown onto their faces in Hell for anything other than the harvest of their tongues?’”
Hadith 4158
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ سورة التكاثر آية 8 , قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ : " وَأَيُّ نَعِيمٍ نُسْأَلُ عَنْهُ , وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ الْأَسْوَدَانِ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ " , قَالَ : أَمَا إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ .
´It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Zubair bin ‘Awwam that his father said:` “When the following was reveled: “Then on that Day you shall be asked about the delights (you indulged in, in this world)! [102:8] Zubair said: ‘What delights shall we be asked about? It is only the two black ones, dates and water.’ He said: ‘It is going to happen.’”
