Jabir bin 'Abdullah al-Ansari who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reportedThe Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told about the intermission of revelation and narrated While I was walking I heard a voice from the sky, and raising my head I saw the angel who had come to me in Hira', sitting on a Throne between heaven and earth I was terror-stricken on that account and came back (to my family) and said: Wrap me up, wrap me up! So they wrapped me up, and the Blessed and Most Exalted Allah sent down:" You who are shrouded, arise and deliver warning, your Lord magnify, your clothes cleanse, and defilement shun," and" defilement" means idols; and then the revelation was followed continuously.
Hadith 161
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) says: The wahi was intermitted for me for a small span of time and while I was walking, and then the hadith like the one narrated by Yunus was transmitted but with the exception of these words: I was terror-stricken till I fell on the ground. Abu Salama said: Defilement means idols. After this the revelation was speeded up and followed rapidly.

This hadith, the like of one narrated by Yunus has also been transmitted by Ma'mar on the authority of al-Zuhri who narrated: Allah the Most Glorious and Exalted revealed this:" You who are shrouded, arise and deliver warning, your Lord magnify, your clothes cleanse and defilement shun," before making the prayer obligatory. I felt terror-stricken as narrated by Uqail.

Ibn Shihab narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was in Mecca when the roof of my house was opened, Jibreel descended, split open my chest, then washed it with the water of Zamzam, then brought a golden basin filled with wisdom and faith, poured it into my chest, then closed it up. Then he took my hand and raised me towards the sky. When we reached the lowest (first) heaven, Jibreel said to the gatekeeper of the lowest heaven: Open the door." He said: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Jibreel." He asked: "Is there anyone with you?" He said: "Yes, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is with me." He asked: "Has he been called?" He said: "Yes." Then he opened the door. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When we reached the sky of the world, I saw a man, on his right side there was a great multitude of creatures and on his left side also a great multitude of creatures. When that man looked to his right, he laughed, and when he looked to his left, he wept." He said: "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and O righteous son." I asked Jibreel: "Who is this?" Jibreel said: "This is Adam (peace be upon him), and those on his right are the people of Paradise and those on his left are the people of Hell, so when he looks to his right he laughs and when he looks to his left he weeps." Then Jibreel took me to the second heaven and said to its gatekeeper: "Open the door." He said that the gatekeeper of the second heaven said the same as the gatekeeper of the sky of the world: "Open the door." Its gatekeeper also spoke as the first one did and opened the door. Hazrat Anas bin Malik said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that I met Adam, Idris, Musa, and Ibrahim (peace be upon them) in the heavens (mentioning briefly). He (Abu Dharr) did not specify their stations, but he did say that Adam (peace be upon him) met him on the first heaven and Ibrahim (peace be upon him) on the seventh heaven (the narrator's error was corrected that Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was on the sixth heaven). He said: When Jibreel and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Idris (peace be upon him), he said: "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous brother." Then they passed on, so I asked: "Who is this?" (Jibreel) said: "This is Idris (peace be upon him)." Then I passed by Musa (peace be upon him), and he said: "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous brother." He said: I asked: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Musa (peace be upon him)." Then I passed by Isa (peace be upon him), and he said: "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous brother." I asked: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Isa son of Maryam (peace be upon him)." He said: "Then I passed by Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and he said: 'Righteous Prophet and righteous son, welcome!'" I asked: "Who is this?" He said: "This is Ibrahim (peace be upon him)." Ibn Shihab said: Ibn Hazm told me that Ibn Abbas and Abu Habba Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then (Jibreel) took me up until I appeared before a high place, from within which I was hearing the sound of pens." Ibn Hazm and Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah the Exalted made fifty prayers obligatory upon my Ummah, I returned with this (command) until I passed by Musa (peace be upon him), so Musa (peace be upon him) asked: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah?" He said: "I replied: He has made fifty prayers obligatory upon them." Musa (peace be upon him) said to me: "Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear it." He said: "So I returned to my Lord and He reduced a portion of it for me." He said: "I returned to Musa (peace be upon him) and informed him." He said: "Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear it (either)." He said: "I returned to my Lord, and He said: These are five and they are (equal to) fifty, My word does not change with Me." He said: "I returned to Musa (peace be upon him), and he said: Return to your Lord." So I said: "I am ashamed before my Lord (to ask repeatedly)." He said: "Then Jibreel took me on until we reached Sidrat al-Muntaha, and it was covered with such colors that I do not know what they were. Then I was taken into Paradise, in it were domes of pearls and its soil was musk."

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: When I was taken for the night journey I met Moses (ؑ) peace be upon him). The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) gave his description thus: He was a man, I suppose-and he (the narrator) was somewhat doubtful (that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) observed): ( Moses (ؑ)) was a man erect in stature with straight hair on his head as it he was one of the men of the Shanu'a; and I met Jesus and the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) described him as one having a medium stature and a red complexion as if he had (just) come out of the bath He observed: I saw Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and amongst his children I have the greatest resemblance with him. He said: There were brought to me two vessels. In one of them was milk and in the other one there was wine. And it was said to me: Select any one you like. So I selected the vessel containing milk and drank it. He (the angel) said: You have been guided on al-fitra or you have attained al-fitra. Had you selected wine, your Ummah would have been misled.
Hadith 170
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir bin 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When the Quraish belied me, I was staying in Hatim and Allah lifted before me Bait-ul-Maqdis and I began to narrate to them (the Quraish of Makkah) its signs while I was in fact looking at it.

'Abdullah reported on the authority of his father 'Umar bin Khattab that he heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: I was sleeping when I saw myself making circuit around the Ka’bah, and I saw there a man of fair complexion with straight hair between two men. Water was flowing from his head or water was falling from his head. I said: Who is he? They answered: He is the son of Mary. Then I moved forward and cast a glance and there was a bulky man of red complexion with thick locks of hair on his head, blind of one eye as it his eye was a swollen grape. I asked: Who is he? They said: He is Dajjal. He had close resemblance with Ibn Qatan amongst men.

Yaqub bin Ibrahim narrated the hadith, saying: My father told us from Ibn Shihab Zuhri, who narrated from Ata bin Yazid Laithi that Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) told him: Some people asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): “O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on a night when it is full?” The people said: “No, O Messenger of Allah!” He said: “Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds?” The companions replied: “No, O Messenger of Allah!” He said: “You will see Him (Allah) in the same way. Allah, the Exalted, will gather all people on the Day of Resurrection, then He will say: ‘Whoever used to worship something, let him follow it.’ So those who used to worship the sun will follow the sun, those who used to worship the moon will follow the moon, and those who used to worship false gods (devils, idols, etc.) will follow the false gods, and only this Ummah will remain, including its hypocrites. Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will come to them in a form they do not recognize, and He will say: ‘I am your Lord.’ They will say: ‘We seek refuge with Allah from you; we will stay here until our Lord comes to us, and when our Lord comes, we will recognize Him.’ Then Allah will come to them in the form in which they recognize Him and will say: ‘I am your Lord.’ They will say: ‘You are (indeed) our Lord,’ and they will follow Him. Then the (bridge of) Sirat will be laid across Hell, and I and my Ummah will be the first to cross it. On that Day, no one will speak except the Messengers, and the call of the Messengers on that Day will be: ‘O Allah! Grant safety, grant safety.’ In Hell there will be hooks like the thorns of Sa‘dan, twisted at their heads. Have you seen the thorns of Sa‘dan?” The companions replied: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” He said: “They will be like the thorns of Sa‘dan, but none knows how big they are except Allah. They will seize people according to their deeds. Until, when Allah has finished judging between His servants and intends, by His mercy, to bring out from the Fire whomever He wills from among those who did not associate anything with Allah, those who said ‘La ilaha illallah,’ the angels will be commanded to bring them out from the Fire. The angels will recognize them by the marks of prostration. The Fire will consume everything of the son of Adam except the marks of prostration. (Because) Allah has forbidden the Fire to consume the marks of prostration. So they will be brought out from the Fire, having been burnt and turned into charcoal, and the water of life will be poured over them, and they will grow as a seed grows in the silt left by a flood. Then Allah will finish judging between His servants. Only one man will remain, who will be facing the Fire. This man will be the last of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise. He will say: ‘O my Lord! Turn my face away from the Fire, for its stench has poisoned me and its heat has burnt me.’ He will continue to call upon Allah as long as Allah wills, then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will say: ‘Is it possible that if I do that for you, you will ask for something else?’ He will say: ‘I will not ask You for anything else.’ He will give his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, whatever promises and covenants He wishes, so Allah will turn his face away from the Fire. When he turns towards Paradise and sees it, he will remain silent as long as Allah wills, then he will say: ‘O my Lord! Bring me forward to the gate of Paradise.’ Allah will say to him: ‘Did you not give covenants and promises that you would not ask Me for anything other than what I have given you? Woe to you, O son of Adam! How treacherous you are!’ He will say: ‘O my Lord!’ and will continue to call upon Allah until Allah says to him: ‘Is it possible that if I grant you this, you will ask for something else?’ He will say: ‘By Your honor, (I will ask for) nothing (else).’ He will give his Lord whatever promises and covenants Allah wishes, so Allah will bring him to the gate of Paradise. When he stands at the gate of Paradise, it will be opened before him, and he will see the goodness and joy that is in it. He will remain silent as long as Allah wills, then he will say: ‘O my Lord! Admit me into Paradise.’ Allah will say to him: ‘Did you not make firm covenants and promises that you would not ask Me for anything other than what I have given you? Woe to you, O son of Adam! How treacherous you are!’ He will say: ‘O my Lord! Let me not be the most miserable of Your creation.’ He will continue to call upon Allah until Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will laugh at him, and when Allah laughs at him, He will say: ‘Enter Paradise.’ When he enters it, Allah will say: ‘Wish!’ So he will ask his Lord and wish until Allah reminds him: ‘Ask for such and such, ask for such and such,’ until all his wishes are exhausted. Then Allah will say: ‘All this is yours, and as much again with it.’” Ata bin Yazid said that Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) was also present with Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he did not deny anything he said, but when Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Allah will say to that man: “All this is yours, and as much again with it,” Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Abu Hurairah! And ten times as much with it.” Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I only remember that he said: ‘All this is yours, and as much again with it.’” Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘All this is yours, and ten times as much with it.’” Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “He will be the last person to enter Paradise.”
Hadith 182

Amr bin Abu Sufyan (RA) reported: Abu Hurairah (RA) said to Ka'b al-Ahbar that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had said: For every apostle there Is a (special) prayer by which he would pray (to his Lord). I, however, intend (if Allah so willed) that I would reserve my prayer for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection. Ka'b said to Abu Hurairah (RA) : Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ? Abu Hurairah (RA) said: Yes.

Humran, the freed slave of 'Uthman, said: 'Uthman bin 'Affan called for ablution water and this is how he performed the ablution. He washed his hands thrice. He then rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose with water (three times). He then washed his face three times, then washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, then washed his left arm like that, then wiped his head; then washed his right foot up to the ankle three times, then washed his left foot like that, and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) perform ablution like this ablution of mine. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He who performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then stood up (for prayer) and offered two rak'ahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, all his previous sins are expiated. Ibn Shihab said: Our scholars remarked: This is the most complete of the ablutions performed for prayer.

Humran, the freed slave of 'Uthman said: I saw 'Uthman call for a vessel (of water) and poured water over his hands three times and then washed them. Then he put his right hand in the vessel and rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose. Then he washed his face three times and his hands up to the elbow three times; then wiped his head, then washed his feet three times. Then he said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said: He who performed ablution like this ablution of mine and offered two rakahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, all his previous sins would be expiated.

Humran reported when 'Uthman performed ablution he said: By Allah, I am narrating to you a hadith had there not been this verse in the Book of Allah. I would not have narrated it to you. Verily I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Not a person is there who performed ablution, and did it well, then offered prayer, but his sins (which he committed) were not pardoned between the prayer that he offered and the next one. 'Urwa said: The verse is this: "Those who suppress the clear proofs and the guidance which We have sent down"... to His words:" the Cursers" (ii. 15).
Hadith 237
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) said: When anyone performs ablution he must clean his nose and when anyone wipes himself with pebbles (after answering the call of nature) he must do that odd number of times.
Hadith 237
It has been transmitted by Abu Hurairah (RA) and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (both of them the reputed Companions of the Holy Prophet) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said like that.
Hadith 257
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Five are the acts quite akin to the Fitra, or five are the acts of Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking the hair under the armpits and clipping the moustache.

Abu Ayyub reported: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whenever you go to the desert, neither turn your face nor turn your back towards the Qibla while answering the call of nature, but face towards the east or the west. Abu Ayyub said: When we came to Syria we found that the latrines already built there were facing towards the Qibla. We turned our faces away from them and begged forgiveness of the Lord. He said: Yes.
Hadith 278

Hadith 287
This hadith has also been narrated from al-Zuhri with the same chain of narrators. (but for the words): "He (the Holy Prophet) sent for water and sprinkled it over."

Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Utba bin Mas'ud said: Umm Qais, daughter of Mihsan, was among the earliest female emigrants who took the oath of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , and she was the sister of 'Ukkasha bin Mihsan, one amongst the sons of Asad bin Khuzaima. He (the narrator) said: She (Umm Qais) told me that she came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) with her son and he had not attained the age of eating food. He (the narrator, 'Ubaidullah), said: She told me that her son passed urine in the lap of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent for water and sprayed it over his garment (over that part which was contaminated with the urine of the child) and he did not wash it thoroughly.

'A'isha reported: Umm Habiba bin Jahsh thus asked for a verdict from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) : I am a woman whose blood keeps flowing (after the menstrual period). He (the Holy Prophet) said: That is only a vein, so take a bath and offer prayer; and she took a bath at the time of every prayer. Laith bin Sa'd said: Ibn Shihab made no mention that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had ordered her to take a bath at the time of every prayer, but she did it of her own accord. 'A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reported: Umm Habiba bin Jahsh who was the sister-in-law of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the wife of 'Abdul Rahman bin Auf, remained mustahada for seven years, and she, therefore, asked for the verdict of Shari'ah from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: This is not menstruation, but (blood from) a vein: so bathe yourself and offer prayer. 'A'isha said: She took a bath in the wash-tub placed in the apartment of her sister Zainab bin Jahsh, till the redness of the blood came over the water. Ibn Shihab said: I narrated it to Abu Bakr (RA) bin 'Abdul Rahman bin al-Harith bin Hisham about it who observed: May Allah have mercy on Hind! would that she listened to this verdict. By Lord, she wept for not offering prayer.
Hadith 334
This hadith has been thus reported by another chain of transmitters: Umm Habiba bin Jahsh came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and she had been a mustahada for seven years, and the rest of the hadith was narrated like that of 'Amr bin al-Harith up to the words: "There came the redness of the blood over water." and nothing was narrated beyond it.
