Hadith 3225M
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ نَحْوَهُ وَقَالَ : قَرَصَتْ .
With this chain also, Ibn Shihab has narrated a similar narration in the previous manner; in it, the word «قَرَصَتْ» is mentioned instead of «قَرَصَتْه».
Hadith 3225
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْمِصْرِيَّانِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ قَرَصَتْهُ نَمْلَةٌ ، فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ فَأُحْرِقَتْ ، فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ ، فِي أَنْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَهْلَكْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الْأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ " .
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One of the prophets from among the prophets was bitten by an ant, so he ordered that the ants' home be burned, and it was burned. Upon this, Allah the Exalted revealed to him: 'Because of the bite of a single ant, you destroyed a whole community (of creatures) from among the communities (of creation) that used to glorify Allah.'"
Hadith 3230
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لِلْوَزَغِ الْفُوَيْسِقَةُ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said concerning house lizards:` “Vermin.”
Hadith 3232
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ : " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ " ، قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ بِهَذَا حَتَّى دَخَلْتُ الشَّامَ .
It was narrated from Abu Tha’labah Al-Khushani that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade eating any predatory animal that has fangs.
Hadith 3241
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى الْحِمْصِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِضَبٍّ مَشْوِيٍّ ، فَقُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَهْوَى بِيَدِهِ لِيَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مَنْ حَضَرَهُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهُ لَحْمُ ضَبٍّ فَرَفَعَ يَدَهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ خَالِدٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَحَرَامٌ الضَّبُّ ؟ ، قَالَ : " لَا ، وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِأَرْضِي فَأَجِدُنِي أَعَافُهُ " ، قَالَ : فَأَهْوَى خَالِدٌ إِلَى الضَّبِّ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ .
´It was narrated from Khalid bin Walid that a grilled mastigure was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and placed near him. He stretched out his hand to eat (some of it), then those who were present said:` “O Messenger of Allah, it is the flesh of a mastigure.” He took his hand away, and Khalid said to him: “O Messenger of Allah, is a mastigure unlawful?” He said: “No, but it is not found in my land and I find it distasteful.” He said: “Then Khalid bent over the mastigure and ate some of it, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was looking at him.”
Hadith 3322
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ طَعَامًا فَلْيَقُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ , وَارْزُقْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ , وَمَنْ سَقَاهُ اللَّهُ لَبَنًا , فَلْيَقُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ , وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ , فَإِنِّي لَا أَعْلَمُ مَا يُجْزِئُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ إِلَّا اللَّبَنُ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever is given food by Allah, let him say: Allahumma barik lana fihi wa arzuqna khairan minhu (O Allah, bless it for us and provide us with something better than it). And whoever is given milk to drink by Allah, let him say: Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minhu (O Allah, bless it for us and give us more of it). For I do not know of any food or drink that suffices, apart from milk.”
Hadith 3353
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا وَسَّاجُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ وَسَّاجٍ , حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُوَقَّرِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَيْتَ , فَرَأَى كِسْرَةً مُلْقَاةً فَأَخَذَهَا فَمَسَحَهَا , ثُمَّ أَكَلَهَا , وَقَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ أَكْرِمِي كَرِيمكِ , فَإِنَّهَا مَا نَفَرَتْ عَنْ قَوْمٍ قَطُّ فَعَادَتْ إِلَيْهِمْ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the house and saw a piece of bread that had been thrown (on the floor). He picked it up, wiped it and ate it, and said: ‘O ‘Aishah, show honor to the precious (i.e., food), for is the blessing of food departs from people, it never comes back.’”
Hadith 3370
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ , حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُنْبَطِحٌ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim that his father said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade a man from eating while lying down on his face.”
Hadith 3386
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , تَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " كُلُّ شَرَابٍ أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Aishah, narrating it from the Prophet (ﷺ):` “Every drink that causes intoxication is unlawful.”
Hadith 3418
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ , عَنْ يُونُسَ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ , قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنْ ، اخْتِنَاثِ الْأَسْقِيَةِ , أَنْ يُشْرَبَ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهَا " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade tipping up water skins in order to drink from their mouths.”
Hadith 3425
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِلَبَنٍ قَدْ شِيبَ بِمَاءٍ , وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَعْرَابِيٌّ , وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَشَرِبَ , ثُمَّ أَعْطَى الْأَعْرَابِيَّ , وَقَالَ : " الْأَيْمَنُ فَالْأَيْمَنُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was brought some milk mixed with water. On his right there was a Bedouin and on his left was Abu Bakr. He drank some, then he gave it to the Bedouin and said:` “Pass it around to the right.”
Hadith 3426
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ : أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَبَنٍ , وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ , وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : " أَتَأْذَنُ لِي أَنْ أَسْقِيَ خَالِدًا ؟ " , قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أُوثِرَ بِسُؤْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , عَلَى نَفْسِي أَحَدًا , فَأَخَذَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَشَرِبَ , وَشَرِبَ خَالِدٌ .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was brought some milk. On his right was Ibn ‘Abbas and on his left was Khalid bin Walid. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Ibn ‘Abbas: ‘Will you permit me to give Khalid to drink?’ Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘I would not like to give preference to anyone over myself when it comes to the leftover drink of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So Ibn ‘Abbas took it and drank some, then Khalid drank some.”
Hadith 3435
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ , حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ , حَدَّثَنَا مَنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ : " كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدَحٌ مِنْ قَوَارِيرَ يَشْرَبُ فِيهِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had a glass cup from which he would drink.”
Hadith 3437
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي خِزَامَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي خِزَامَةَ , قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَأَيْتَ أَدْوِيَةً نَتَدَاوَى بِهَا , وَرُقًى نَسْتَرْقِي بِهَا , وَتُقًى نَتَّقِيهَا , هَلْ تَرُدُّ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا , قَالَ : " هِيَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Khizamah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked: ‘Do you think that the medicines with which we treat ourselves, the Ruqyah by which we seek healing, and the means of protection that we seek, change the decree of Allah at all?’ He said: ‘They are part of the decree of Allah.’”
Hadith 3447
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمِصْرِيَّانِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ , أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ فِي الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ , إِلَّا السَّامَ " , وَالسَّامُ الْمَوْتُ , وَالْحَبَّةُ السَّوْدَاءُ الشُّونِيزُ .
´Abu Hurairah narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:` “In black seed there is healing for every disease, except the Sam.” "Sam means death. And black seed is Shuwniz."
Hadith 3462
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَة , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ , قَالَتْ : دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ , فَقَالَ : " عَلَامَ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعِلَاقِ ؟ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ , فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ يُسْعَطُ بِهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ , وَيُلَدُّ بِهِ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ " .
´It was narrated that Umm Qais bint Mihsan said:` “I brought a son of mine to the Prophet (ﷺ), and I had pressed on an area of his throat due to tonsillitis. He said: ‘Why do you poke your children with this pressing?’ You should use this aloeswood, for in it there are seven cures. It should be inhaled for pustules in the throat, and given in the side of the mouth for pleurisy.” (Another chain) from Umm Qais bint Mihsan, from the Prophet (ﷺ) with similar wording.
Hadith 3462M
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , بِنَحْوِهِ , قَالَ يُونُسُ : أَعْلَقْتُ يَعْنِي : غَمَزْتُ .
‘With this chain also,’ it is narrated in a marfu‘ form from Umm Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) in the same way. Yunus says: «أعلقت» means «غمزت», that is, ‘I pressed.’
Hadith 3468
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ , وَابْنُ سَمْعَانَ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ يَعْنِي : بِهِ الْكُسْتَ , فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ " , قَالَ ابْنُ سَمْعَانَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ : " فَإِنَّ فِيهِ شِفَاءً مِنْ سَبْعَةِ أَدْوَاءٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ " .
´Umm Qais bint Mihsan said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘You should use Indian aloeswood for it contains seven cures, including (a cure for) pleurisy.’”
Hadith 3509
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ , قَالَ : مَرَّ عَامِرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ , بِسَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ وَهُوَ يَغْتَسِلُ , فَقَالَ : لَمْ أَرَ كَالْيَوْمِ وَلَا جِلْدَ مُخَبَّأَةٍ , فَمَا لَبِثَ أَنْ لُبِطَ بِهِ , فَأُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : أَدْرِكْ سَهْلًا صَرِيعًا , قَالَ : " مَنْ تَتَّهِمُونَ بِهِ ؟ " , قَالُوا : عَامِرَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ , قَالَ : " عَلَامَ يَقْتُلُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ ، إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ أَخِيهِ مَا يُعْجِبُهُ , فَلْيَدْعُ لَهُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ " , ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ , فَأَمَرَ عَامِرًا أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ , فَيَغْسِلْ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ , وَرُكْبَتَيْهِ وَدَاخِلَةَ إِزَارِهِ , وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَصُبَّ عَلَيْهِ , قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ : وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَكْفَأَ الْإِنَاءَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ .
´It was narrated that Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif said:` “ ‘Amir bin Rabi’ah passed by Sahl bin Hunaif when he was having a bath, and said: ‘I have never seen such beautiful skin.’ Straightaway, he (Sahl) fell to the ground. He was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) and it was said: ‘Sahl has had a fit.’ He said: ‘Whom do you accuse with regard to him?’ They said: “ ‘Amir bin Rabi’ah.’ They said: ‘Why would anyone of you kill his brother? If he sees something that he likes, then let him pray for blessing for him.’ Then he called for water, and he told ‘Amir to perform ablution, then he washed his face and his arms up to the elbows, his knees and inside his lower garment, then he told him to pour the water over him.”
Hadith 3528
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَة , وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الرَّقِّيُّ , وَسَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ , قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَنْفُثُ فِي الرُّقْيَةِ " .
It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to blow when performing Ruqyah.
Hadith 3529
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا اشْتَكَى , يَقْرَأُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ : بِالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ , وَيَنْفُثُ , فَلَمَّا اشْتَدَّ وَجَعُهُ , كُنْتُ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَمْسَحُ بِيَدِهِ رَجَاءَ بَرَكَتِهَا " .
´It was narrated from ‘Aishah:` “Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) fell ill, he would recite the Mu’awwidhat and blow, and when his pain grew worse, I would recite over him and wipe his hand over him, hoping for its blessing.”
Hadith 3535
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ , وَاقْتُلُوا ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ , وَالْأَبْتَرَ , فَإِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ , وَيُسْقِطَانِ الْحَبَلَ ".
´it was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Kill snakes, and kill Dhit-Tufytain* and the Abtar**, for they take away the sight and cause miscarriage.” *A snake that has two white stripes on its back. **A snake with a short or mutilated tail.
Hadith 3550
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي خَمِيصَةٍ لَهَا أَعْلَامٌ , فَقَالَ : " شَغَلَنِي أَعْلَامُ هَذِهِ , اذْهَبُوا بِهَا إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمٍ وَأْتُونِي بأنبجانيته " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed in a Khamisah* that had markings on it. Then he said: ‘These markings distracted me. Take it to Abu Jahm and bring me an Anbijaniyyah.’”**
Hadith 3558
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى عَلَى عُمَرَ قَمِيصًا أَبْيَضَ , فَقَالَ : " ثَوْبُكَ هَذَا غَسِيلٌ أَمْ جَدِيدٌ " , قَالَ : لَا بَلْ غَسِيلٌ , قَالَ : " الْبَسْ جَدِيدًا , وَعِشْ حَمِيدًا , وَمُتْ شَهِيدًا " .
´It was narrated from Ibn `Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw `Umar wearing a white shirt and he said:` “Is this garment of yours washed or a new one?” He said: “Rather it has been washed.” He said: “Ilbas jadida, wa `ish hamida, wa mut shahida (May you wear new clothes, live a good life and die as martyr).”
Hadith 3559
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ ، فَأَمَّا اللِّبْسَتَانِ : فَاشْتِمَالُ الصَّمَّاءِ ، وَالِاحْتِبَاءُ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ لَيْسَ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ " .
It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade two kinds of dress. Those two types of dress are Ishtimalus- Samma’* and Ihtiba’ in a single garment, with no part of it upon his private part.**
Hadith 3598
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ , عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَنَسٍ , قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَمِيصَ حَرِيرٍ سِيَرَاءَ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “I saw Zainab the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wearing a shirt of Siyara’ silk.*
Hadith 3610
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ , أَنَّ شَاةً لِمَوْلَاةِ مَيْمُونَةَ , مَرَّ بِهَا يَعْنِي : النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أُعْطِيَتْهَا مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ مَيْتَةً , فَقَالَ : " هَلَّا أَخَذُوا إِهَابَهَا فَدَبَغُوهُ فَانْتَفَعُوا بِهِ " , فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ , قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا حُرِّمَ أَكْلُهَا " .
´It was narrated from Maimunah that he (meaning the Prophet (ﷺ)) passed by a dead sheep belonging to the freed slave woman of Maimunah, that had been given to her in charity. He said:` “Why don’t they take its skin and ten it, and make us of it?” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, it is dead meat.”* He said: “It is only unlawful to eat it.”
Hadith 3621
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ , وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ يُخْبِرَانِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ , وَالنَّصَارَى , لَا يَصْبُغُونَ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah attributed to the Prophet (ﷺ):` “The Jews and the Christians do not dye (their hair), so differ from them.”
Hadith 3632
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ , عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ : كَانَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ يَسْدُلُونَ أَشْعَارَهُمْ , وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَفْرُقُونَ , وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحِبُّ مُوَافَقَةَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ , قَالَ : " فَسَدَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاصِيَتَهُ , ثُمَّ فَرَقَ بَعْدُ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “The People of the Book used to let their hair hang down, and the idolaters used to part their hair. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) liked to be more like the People of the Book. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) let his forelock hang down, then after that he parted it.”
Hadith 3641
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ لَهُ فَصٌّ حَبَشِيٌّ وَنَقْشُهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wore a ring of silver, in which was an Ethiopian gemstone and the inscription:` ‘Muhammad Rasul Allah’ (Muhammad the Messenger of Allah).”
Hadith 3646
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ , حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ , عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْأَيْلِيِّ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَبِسَ خَاتَمَ فِضَّةٍ فِيهِ فَصٌّ حَبَشِيٌّ كَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ فِي بَطْنِ كَفِّهِ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wore a silver ring with an Ethiopian gemstone, and he used to ear the stone in towards his palm.
Hadith 3649
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا صُورَةٌ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Talhah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.”
Hadith 3686
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَمِّهِ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ضَالَّةِ الْإِبِلِ تَغْشَى حِيَاضِي قَدْ لُطْتُهَا لِإِبِلِي , فَهَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ سَقَيْتُهَا ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ , فِي كُلِّ ذَاتِ كَبِدٍ حَرَّى أَجْرٌ " .
´It was narrated that Suraqah bin Ju'shum said:` "I asked the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) about a lost camel that comes to my cisterns that I have prepared for my own camels - will I be rewarded if I give it some water to drink? He said: Yes, in every living being there is reward.'"
Hadith 3689
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ , عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ . ح حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَفِيقٌ يُحِبُّ الرِّفْقَ فِي الْأَمْرِ كُلِّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Aishah that the Prophet(ﷺ) said:` "Allah is Gentle and loves gentleness in all things."
Hadith 3719
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنْ زَمْعَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ . ح حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : " خَرَجَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي تِجَارَةٍ إِلَى بُصْرَى قَبْلَ مَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَامٍ , وَمَعَهُ نُعَيْمَانُ , وَسُوَيْبِطُ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ , وَكَانَا شَهِدَا بَدْرًا , وَكَانَ نُعَيْمَانُ عَلَى الزَّادِ , وَكَانَ سُوَيْبِطُ رَجُلًا مَزَّاحًا , فَقَالَ لِنُعَيْمَانَ : أَطْعِمْنِي , قَالَ : حَتَّى يَجِيءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ , قَالَ : فَلَأُغِيظَنَّكَ , قَالَ : فَمَرُّوا بِقَوْمٍ , فَقَالَ لَهُمْ سُوَيْبِطٌ : تَشْتَرُونَ مِنِّي عَبْدًا لِي , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : إِنَّهُ عَبْدٌ لَهُ كَلَامٌ وَهُوَ قَائِلٌ لَكُمْ إِنِّي حُرٌّ , فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ إِذَا قَالَ لَكُمْ هَذِهِ الْمَقَالَةَ , تَرَكْتُمُوهُ فَلَا تُفْسِدُوا عَلَيَّ عَبْدِي , قَالُوا : لَا , بَلْ نَشْتَرِيهِ مِنْكَ , فَاشْتَرَوْهُ مِنْهُ بِعَشْرِ قَلَائِصَ , ثُمَّ أَتَوْهُ فَوَضَعُوا فِي عُنُقِهِ عِمَامَةً أَوْ حَبْلًا , فَقَالَ نُعَيْمَانُ : إِنَّ هَذَا يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِكُمْ وَإِنِّي حُرٌّ لَسْتُ بِعَبْدٍ , فَقَالُوا : قَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا خَبَرَكَ , فَانْطَلَقُوا بِهِ فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِذَلِكَ , قَالَ : فَاتَّبَعَ الْقَوْمَ وَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَلَائِصَ , وَأَخَذَ نُعَيْمَانَ , قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ , قَالَ : فَضَحِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ مِنْهُ حَوْلًا " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` "Abu Bakr went out to trade in Busra, one year before the Prophet (ﷺ) died, and with him were Nu`aiman and Suwaibit the sons of Harmalah, who had been present at Badr. Nu`aiman was in charge of the provisions, and Suwaibit was a man who joked a lot. He said to Nu`aiman: 'Feed me'. He said: 'Not until Abu Bakr comes'. He said: 'Then I will have to annoy you'. Then they passed by some people, and Suwaibit said to them: 'Will you buy a slave from me?' They said: 'Yes'. He said 'He is a slave who talks a lot and he will tell you, "I am a free man". If you are going to let him go when he says that to you, do not bother buying him.' They said: 'We will buy him from you.' So they bought him from him in return for ten young she-camels, then they brought him and tied a turban or a rope around his neck. Nu`aiman said: 'This man is making fun of you. I am a free man, not a slave.' They said: 'He has already told us about you; and they took him off.' Then Abu Bakr came and he (Suwaibit) told him about that. So he followed those people and returned their camels to them, and took Nu`aiman back. When they came to the Prophet (ﷺ) they told him what had happened, and the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions laughed about it for a year."
Hadith 3727
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الزُّرَقِيُّ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ , فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ رَوْحِ اللَّهِ , تَأْتِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ وَالْعَذَابِ , وَلَكِنْ سَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا , وَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Do not curse the wind, for it is from the mercy of Allah, bringing Rahmah (i.e., rain and breezes), or destruction. But ask Allah for its goodness, and seek refuge with Allah from its evil."
Hadith 3755
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ يُونُسَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ , عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ , عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ لَحِكْمَةً " .
´It was narrated from Ubbay bin Ka'b that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "In some poetry there is wisdom."
Hadith 3769
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَتْرُكُوا النَّارَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ حِينَ تَنَامُونَ " .
´It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet(ﷺ) said:` "Do not leave fire in your houses when you go to sleep."
Hadith 3853
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يُسْتَجَابُ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مَا لَمْ يَعْجَلْ " , قِيلَ : وَكَيْفَ يَعْجَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " يَقُولُ : قَدْ دَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ اللَّهُ لِي " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that :` the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "It is necessary that you do not become hasty." It was said: "What does being hasty mean, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "When one says: 'I supplicated to Allah but Allah did not answer me.'"
Hadith 3875
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ , نَفَثَ فِي يَدَيْهِ , وَقَرَأَ , وَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا جَسَدَهُ " .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that:` whenever the Prophet (saas) went to bed, he would blow into his hands, recite Al-Mu'awwidhatain, then wipe his hands over his body.
