Hadith 2350
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ نَبْهَانَ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ الثَّقَفِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادٌ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ الرَّاسِبِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَازِعِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ ، فَقَالَ : " انْظُرْ مَاذَا تَقُولُ ؟ " قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ ، فَقَالَ : " انْظُرْ مَاذَا تَقُولُ ؟ " قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ , ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ كُنْتَ تُحِبُّنِي فَأَعِدَّ لِلْفَقْرِ تِجْفَافًا , فَإِنَّ الْفَقْرَ أَسْرَعُ إِلَى مَنْ يُحِبُّنِي مِنَ السَّيْلِ إِلَى مُنْتَهَاهُ " .
‘Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I love you.” The Prophet said: “Consider carefully what you are saying.” He again said: “By Allah, I love you.” The Prophet said: “Consider carefully what you are saying.” He again said: “By Allah, I love you.” He said this three times, so the Prophet said: “If you truly love me, then prepare yourself for poverty, for indeed poverty rushes towards the one who wishes to befriend me faster than a flood flows towards its destination.”
Hadith 3279
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمْرِو بْنِ نَبْهَانَ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ الْبَصْرِيُّ الثَّقَفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ أَبُو غَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : رَأَى مُحَمَّدٌ رَبَّهُ ، قُلْتُ : أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ يَقُولُ : لا تُدْرِكُهُ الأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الأَبْصَارَ سورة الأنعام آية 103 قَالَ : وَيْحَكَ ذَاكَ إِذَا تَجَلَّى بِنُورِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ نُورُهُ ، وَقَالَ : أُرِيَهُ وَقَدْ رَأَى مُحَمّدُ رَبَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
´Narrated 'Ikrimah:` that Ibn 'Abbas said: "Muhammad saw his Lord." I said: "Did Allah not say: No vision can grasp Him, but He grasps all vision (6:103). He said: "Woe unto you! That is when He manifests His Light. But Muhammad saw his Lord two times."
