Hadith 3712
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , أَنْبَأَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ , فَأَكْرِمُوهُ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "If there comes to you a man who is respected among his own people, then honor him."
Hadith 3854
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ , عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ , وَلْيَعْزِمْ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا مُكْرِهَ لَهُ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the :` Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "No one among you should say: "O Allah, forgive me if You will.' Let him be definite in his asking, and no one can compel Allah."
Hadith 4131
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْأَكْثَرُونَ هُمُ الْأَسْفَلُونَ , إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ : هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا " , ثَلَاثًا .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The wealthiest will be the lowest, except one who does such and such,’ three things.”
Hadith 4168
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الْمُؤْمِنُ الْقَوِيُّ , خَيْرٌ وَأَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِ الضَّعِيفِ , وَفِي كُلٍّ خَيْرٌ احْرِصْ عَلَى مَا يَنْفَعُكَ , وَلَا تَعْجِزْ , فَإِنْ غَلَبَكَ أَمْرٌ فَقُلْ قَدَرُ اللَّهِ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ , وَإِيَّاكَ وَاللَّوْ , فَإِنَّ اللَّوْ تَفْتَحُ عَمَلَ الشَّيْطَانِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said, attributing it to the Prophet (ﷺ):` “The stronger believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive to seek that which will benefit you and do not feel helpless. If something overwhelms you, then say: Qaddarallah, wa ma sha'a fa’al (It is the decree of Allah and what He wills He does). And beware of (saying) ‘If only,’ for ‘If only’ opens the door to Satan.”
Hadith 4244
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل , وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا أَذْنَبَ كَانَتْ نُكْتَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فِي قَلْبِهِ , فَإِنْ تَابَ وَنَزَعَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ , صُقِلَ قَلْبُهُ , فَإِنْ زَادَ زَادَتْ , فَذَلِكَ الرَّانُ الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ سورة المطففين آية 14 " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When the believer commits sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents and gives up that sin and seeks forgiveness, his heart will be polished. But if (the sin) increases, (the black spot) increases. That is the Ran that Allah mentions in His Book: “Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.” [83:14]
Hadith 4295
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ , وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , لَمَّا خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ , إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي تَغْلِبُ غَضَبِي " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When Allah created the universe, He decreed for Himself: ‘My mercy prevails over My wrath.’”
