Hadith 67
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اثْنَتَانِ فِي النَّاسِ هُمَا بِهِمْ كُفْرٌ ، الطَّعْنُ فِي النَّسَبِ ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Two (things) are found among men which are tantamount to unbelief: slandering one's lineage and lamentation on the dead.
Hadith 976
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : زَارَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْرَ أُمِّهِ ، فَبَكَى وَأَبْكَى مَنْ حَوْلَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَبِّي فِي أَنْ أَسْتَغْفِرَ لَهَا فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي ، وَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ فِي أَنْ أَزُورَ قَبْرَهَا فَأُذِنَ لِي ، فَزُورُوا الْقُبُورَ فَإِنَّهَا تُذَكِّرُ الْمَوْتَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) visited the grave of his mother and he wept, and moved others around him to tears, and said: I sought permission from my Lord to beg forgiveness for her but it was not granted to me, and I sought permission to visit her grave and it was granted to me. So visit the graves, for that makes you mindful of death.
Hadith 2641
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ ، فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ .
Abu Musa, reported that a person came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ; the rest of the hadith is the same.
