Hadith 3346
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق , سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ , حَتَّى قُبِضَ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “The family of Muhammad (ﷺ) never ate their fill of barley bread until he was taken (i.e. died).”
Hadith 3415
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ امْرَأَةِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , عَن رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ شَرِبَ فِي إِنَاءِ فِضَّةٍ , فَكَأَنَّمَا يُجَرْجِرُ فِي بَطْنِهِ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever drinks from a silver vessel, it is as if he is swallowing Hell-fire into his belly.”
Hadith 3492
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ غُنْدَرٌ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ , قال : سَمِعَتُ عَمِّي يَحْيَى , وَمَا أَدْرَكْتُ رَجُلًا مِنَّا بِهِ شَبِيهًا يُحَدِّثُ النَّاسَ , أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ زُرَارَةَ وَهُوَ جَدُّ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ قِبَلِ أُمِّهِ , أَنَّهُ أَخَذَهُ وَجَعٌ فِي حَلْقِهِ يُقَالُ لَهُ : الذُّبْحَةُ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأُبْلِغَنَّ أَوْ لَأُبْلِيَنَّ فِي أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عُذْرًا " , فَكَوَاهُ بِيَدِهِ فَمَاتَ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مِيتَةَ سَوْءٍ لِلْيَهُودِ , يَقُولُونَ : أَفَلَا دَفَعَ عَنْ صَاحِبِهِ , وَمَا أَمْلِكُ لَهُ وَلَا لِنَفْسِي شَيْئًا " .
´Muhammad bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Sa’d bin Zurarah Al-Ansari said:` “I heard my paternal uncle Yahya – and I have not seen a man among us like him – tell the people that Sa'd bin Zurarah, who was the grandfather of Muhammad through his mother, was suffering from pain in his throat, known as croup. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘I shall do my best for Abu Umamah.’ Such that I will be excused (i.e., free of blame if he is not healed). And he cauterized him with his own hand, but he died. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘May the Jews be doomed! They will say: “Why could he not avert death from his Companions?” But I have no power to do anything for him or for my own self.’”
Hadith 3613
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ , عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ , عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ . ح حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ كُلُّهُمْ , عَنْ الْحَكَمِ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُكَيْمٍ , قَالَ : أَتَانَا كِتَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنْ لَا تَنْتَفِعُوا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ بِإِهَابٍ , وَلَا عَصَبٍ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Ukaym said:` “There came to us a letter from the Prophet (ﷺ) (saying): ‘No not make use of the untanned skin and sinew of dead animals.’”
Hadith 3650
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ , عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُجَيٍّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَا تَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا صُورَةٌ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Ali bin Abu Talib that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.”
Hadith 3705
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ , وَغُنْدَرٌ , وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ , " أَنَّ قَوْمًا مِنْ الْيَهُودِ قَبَّلُوا يَدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرِجْلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Safwan bin 'Assal that:` "Some people among the Jews kissed the hands and feet of the Prophet(ﷺ)."
Hadith 3732
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رَافِعٍ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ كَانَ اسْمُهَا بَرَّةَ , فَقِيلَ لَهَا تُزَكِّي نَفْسَهَا , " فَسَمَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيْنَبَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` "Zainab used to be called "Barrah" (good), and it was said that she was praising herself. So the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) changed her name to Zainab."
Hadith 3743
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ , عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ , عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّمَادُحَ , فَإِنَّهُ الذَّبْحُ " .
´It was narrated that Muawiyah said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) say: 'Beware of praising one another, for it is slaughtering (one another).'"
Hadith 3760
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , حَدَّثَنِي قَتَادَةُ , عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا , حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا " .
´It was narrated from Sad bin Abu Waqas that the Prophet(ﷺ) said:` "If a man were to fill his stomach completely with pus until it destroyed him, that would be better for him than filling (his mind) with poetry."
Hadith 3785
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى , قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ أَعْظَمَ سُورَةٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ ؟ " , قَالَ : فَذَهَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَخْرُجَ , فَأَذْكَرْتُهُ , فَقَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَهِيَ السَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي , وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed bin Mu'alla said:` "The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said to me: 'Shall I not teach you the greatest Surah in the QUran before I leave the masjid?' Then the Propeht(ﷺ) went to leave, so I reminded him, and he said: Al-hamdulillahi Rabbil-Alameen (All the praise is to Allah, the Lord of all that exists). It is the Seven Oft-Recited Verses, and it is the Grand Quran that has been given to me.'"
Hadith 3942
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , وَعْبَدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ : " اسْتَنْصِتِ النَّاسَ " , فَقَالَ : " لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ " .
´It was narrated from Jarir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, during the Farewell Pilgrimage:` “Make the people pay attention.” Then he said: “Do not turn back into disbelievers after I am gone, striking one another’s necks.”
Hadith 3959
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ , عَنْ الْحَسَنِ , حَدَّثَنَا أَسِيدُ بْنُ الْمُتَشَمِّسِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى , حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ لَهَرْجًا " , قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا الْهَرْجُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْقَتْلُ " , فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّا نَقْتُلُ الْآنَ فِي الْعَامِ الْوَاحِدِ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَذَا وَكَذَا , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ بِقَتْلِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ , وَلَكِنْ يَقْتُلُ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا , حَتَّى يَقْتُلَ الرَّجُلُ جَارَهُ , وَابْنَ عَمِّهِ , وَذَا قَرَابَتِهِ " , فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , وَمَعَنَا عُقُولُنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُنْزَعُ عُقُولُ أَكْثَرِ ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ , وَيَخْلُفُ لَهُ هَبَاءٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ لَا عُقُولَ لَهُمْ " , ثُمَّ قَالَ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ : وَايْمُ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهَا مُدْرِكَتِي , وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا لِي وَلَكُمْ مِنْهَا مَخْرَجٌ , إِنْ أَدْرَكَتْنَا فِيمَا عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا نَبِيُّنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , إِلَّا أَنْ نَخْرُجَ كَمَا دَخَلْنَا فِيهَا .
´Abu Musa narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Before the Hour comes there will be Harj.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, what is Harj?” He said: “Killing.” Some of the Muslims said: “O Messenger of Allah, now we kill such and such a number of idolaters in one year.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “That will not be like killing the idolaters, rather you will kill one another, until a man will kill his neighbor and son of the cousin and a relative.” Some of the people said: “O Messenger of Allah, will we be in our right minds that day?” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “No, reason will be taken away from most of the people at that time, and there will be left the insignificant people who have no reason.”
Hadith 3965
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ , عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ , عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا الْمُسْلِمَانِ حَمَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى أَخِيهِ السِّلَاحَ فَهُمَا عَلَى جُرُفِ جَهَنَّمَ , فَإِذَا قَتَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ دَخَلَاهَا جَمِيعًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Bakrah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “When one Muslim wields his weapon against his brother, both of them are at the edge of Hell, and if one of them kills the other, they will both enter it.”
Hadith 4033
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , قَالَ : قَال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ " , وَقَالَ بُنْدَارٌ : " حَلَاوَةَ الْإِيمَانِ , مَنْ كَانَ يُحِبُّ الْمَرْءَ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ , وَمَنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا , وَمَنْ كَانَ أَنْ يُلْقَى فِي النَّارِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فِي الْكُفْرِ , بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنْقَذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There are three things, whoever has them has found the taste of faith (One of the narrators) Bundar said: ‘The sweetness of faith; When he loves a man and only loves him for the sake of Allah. When Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; and when being thrown into the fire is dearer to him than going back to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it.”
Hadith 4045
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , قَالَ : أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , لَا يُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِهِ أَحَدٌ بَعْدِي , سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ : " إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ : أَنْ يُرْفَعَ الْعِلْمُ , وَيَظْهَرَ الْجَهْلُ , وَيَفْشُوَ الزِّنَا , وَيُشْرَبَ الْخَمْرُ , وَيَذْهَبَ الرِّجَالُ , وَيَبْقَى النِّسَاءُ , حَتَّى يَكُونَ لِخَمْسِينَ امْرَأَةً قَيِّمٌ وَاحِدٌ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “Shall I not tell you a Hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), which no one will tell you after me? I heard it from him (saying): ‘Among the portents of the Hour are that knowledge will be taken away and ignorance will prevail, illegal sex will become widespread and wine will be drunk, and men will disappear and women will be left, until there is one man in charge of fifty women.”
Hadith 4105
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : خَرَجَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ مِنْ عِنْدِ مَرْوَانَ بِنِصْفِ النَّهَارِ , قُلْتُ : مَا بَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ إِلَّا لِشَيْءٍ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ , فَسَأَلْتُهُ , فَقَالَ : سَأَلَنَا عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ سَمِعْنَاهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كَانَتِ الدُّنْيَا هَمَّهُ , فَرَّقَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَهُ , وَجَعَلَ فَقْرَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ , وَلَمْ يَأْتِهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَا كُتِبَ لَهُ , وَمَنْ كَانَتِ الْآخِرَةُ نِيَّتَهُ , جَمَعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَمْرَهُ , وَجَعَلَ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ , وَأَتَتْهُ الدُّنْيَا وَهِيَ رَاغِمَةٌ " .
´‘Abdur-Rahman bin Aban bin ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan narrated that his father said:` “Zaid bin Thabit departed from Marwan at mid-day. I said: ‘He has not sent him out at this time of the day except for something he asked.’ So I asked him, and he said: ‘He asked me about some things we heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Whoever is focused only on this world, Allah will confound his affairs and make him fear poverty constantly, and he will not get anything of this world except that which has been decreed for him. Whoever is focused on the Hereafter, Allah will settle his affairs for him and make him feel content with his lot, and his provision and worldly gains will undoubtedly come to him.”
Hadith 4157
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّهُمْ أَصَابَهُمْ جُوعٌ وَهُمْ سَبْعَةٌ , قَالَ : " فَأَعْطَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ , لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ تَمْرَةٌ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that they suffered from hunger and they were seven. He said:` “Then the Prophet (ﷺ) gave me seven dates, one date for each man.”
Hadith 4225
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ , عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ لَهُ : الرَّجُلُ يَعْمَلُ الْعَمَلَ لِلَّهِ , فَيُحِبُّهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ ؟ , قَالَ : " ذَلِكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Dharr:` “I said to the Prophet (ﷺ): ‘(What do you say about when) a man does a deed for the sake of Allah, and people love him for it?’ He said: ‘That is the immediate glad tidings of the believer.’”
Hadith 4269
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ , عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ سورة إبراهيم آية 27 , قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ , يُقَالُ لَهُ : مَنْ رَبُّكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ , وَنَبِيِّي مُحَمَّدٌ , فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ : يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ سورة إبراهيم آية 27 " .
´It was narrated from Bara’ bin ‘Azib that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm.” [14:27] This has been revealed concerning the torment of the grave. It will be said to him: ‘Who is your Lord?’ He will say: ‘My Lord is Allah, and my Prophet is Muhammad.’ This is what Allah says: Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter (i.e., at the time of questioning in the grave).’” [14:27]
Hadith 4283
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق , عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قُبَّةٍ , فَقَالَ : " أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ " , قُلْنَا : بَلَى , قَالَ : " أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ " , قُلْنَا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ , وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا يَدْخُلُهَا إِلَّا نَفْسٌ مُسْلِمَةٌ , وَمَا أَنْتُمْ فِي أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ , إِلَّا كَالشَّعَرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ , أَوْ كَالشَّعَرَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الْأَحْمَرِ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said:` “We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in a tent, and he said: ‘Will it not please you to be one quarter of the people of Paradise?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Will it not please you to be one third of the people of Paradise?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise. For no one will enter Paradise but a Muslim soul, and among the people of polytheism you are like a white hair on the hide of a black bull, or like a black hair on the hide of a red bull.’”
Hadith 4306
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَن النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ أَتَى الْمَقْبَرَةَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمَقْبَرَةِ , فَقَالَ : السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ , وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ " , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " لَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّا قَدْ رَأَيْنَا إِخْوَانَنَا " , قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ : أَوَلَسْنَا إِخْوَانَكَ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابِي , وَإِخْوَانِي , الَّذِينَ يَأْتُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي , وَأَنَا فَرَطُهُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " , قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , كَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ , قَالَ : " أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَهُ خَيْلٌ غُرٌّ مُحَجَّلَةٌ , بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ خَيْلٍ دُهْمٍ بُهْمٍ , أَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَعْرِفُهَا " , قَالُوا : بَلَى , قَالَ : " فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرًّا , مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ أَثَارِ الْوُضُوءِ " , قَالَ : " أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْض " , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " لَيُذَادَنَّ رِجَالٌ عَنْ حَوْضِي كَمَا يُذَادُ الْبَعِيرُ الضَّالُّ , فَأُنَادِيهِمْ أَلَا هَلُمُّوا " , فَيُقَالُ : إِنَّهُمْ قَدْ بَدَّلُوا بَعْدَكَ وَلَمْ يَزَالُوا يَرْجِعُونَ عَلَى أَعْقَابِهِمْ , فَأَقُولُ : " أَلَا سُحْقًا سُحْقًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) came to a graveyard and greeted (its occupants) with Salam, then he said:` “Peace be upon you, abode of believing people. We will join you soon, if Allah wills.” Then he said: “Would that we could see our brothers.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, are we not your brothers?” He said: “You are my Companions. My brothers are those who will come after me. I will reach the Cistern ahead of you.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, how will you recognize those of your nation who have not yet come?” He said: “If a man has a horse with a blaze on its forehead and white feet, don’t you think that he will recognize it among horses that are deep black in color?” They said: “Of course.” He said: “On the Day of Resurrection they will come with radiant faces, hands, and feet, because of the traces of ablution.” He said: “I will reach the Cistern ahead of you.” Then he said: “Men will be driven away from my Cistern just as stray camels are driven away. And I will call to them: ‘Come here!’ But it will be said: ‘They changed after you were gone, and they kept turning on their heels.’ So I will say: “Be off with you!”
