Hadith 3398
حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدٍ ، أَنَّ
أُسَيْدَ بْنَ ظُهَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَنَا
رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " يَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَمْرٍ كَانَ لَكُمْ نَافِعًا ، وَطَاعَةُ اللَّهِ وَطَاعَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْفَعُ لَكُمْ ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَاكُمْ عَنِ الْحَقْلِ ، وَقَالَ : مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى عَنْ أَرْضِهِ ، فَلْيَمْنَحْهَا أَخَاهُ أَوْ لِيَدَعْ " ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : وَهَكَذَا رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ ، وَمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُهَلْهَلٍ ،عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : أُسَيْدٌ ابْنُ أَخِي رَافِعِ بْنِ خَديِجٍ .
Narrated Usaid bin Zuhair: Rafi bin Khadij came to us and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbids you from a work which is beneficial to you ; and obedience to Allah and His Prophet ﷺ is more beneficial to you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbids you from renting land for share of its produce and he said: If anyone if not in need of his land he should lend it to his brother or leave it. Abu Dawud said: Shubah and Mufaddal bin Muhalhal have narrated it from Mansur in similar way. Shubah said (in his version): Usaid, nephew of Rafi b, Khadij.
Hadith 3560
Mujahid said: Umra means that a man says to another man: It belongs to you so long as you live. When he says that, it belongs to him and to his heirs. Ruqba means that a man says to another: From me and from you.
Hadith 3785
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited eating the animal which feeds on filth and drinking its milk.

Hadith 3875
حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ
سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : " مَرِضْتُ مَرَضًا أَتَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُنِي فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ بَيْنَ ثَدْيَيَّ حَتَّى وَجَدْتُ بَرْدَهَا عَلَى فُؤَادِي ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ رَجُلٌ مَفْئُودٌ ، ائْتِ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ كَلَدَةَ أَخَا ثَقِيفٍ فَإِنَّهُ رَجُلٌ يَتَطَبَّبُ ، فَلْيَأْخُذْ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ مِنْ عَجْوَةَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَلْيَجَأْهُنَّ بِنَوَاهُنَّ ، ثُمَّ لِيَلُدَّكَ بِهِنَّ " .
Narrated Saad: I suffered from an illness. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to pay a visit to me. He put his hands between my nipples and I felt its coolness at my heart. He said: You are a man suffering from heart sickness. Go to al-Harith ibn Kaladah, brother of Thaqif. He is a man who gives medical treatment. He should take seven ajwah dates of Madina and grind them with their kernels, and then put them into your mouth.
Hadith 4069
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: A man wearing two red garments passed the Prophet ﷺ and gave him a greeting, but he did not respond to his greeting.
Hadith 4158

مُجَاهِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَقَالَ لِي : أَتَيْتُكَ الْبَارِحَةَ فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أَكُونَ دَخَلْتُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ عَلَى الْبَابِ تَمَاثِيلُ وَكَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ قِرَامُ سِتْرٍ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ وَكَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ كَلْبٌ ، فَمُرْ بِرَأْسِ التِّمْثَالِ الَّذِي فِي الْبَيْتِ يُقْطَعُ فَيَصِيرُ كَهَيْئَةِ الشَّجَرَةِ ، وَمُرْ بِالسِّتْرِ فَلْيُقْطَعْ فَلْيُجْعَلْ مِنْهُ وِسَادَتَيْنِ مَنْبُوذَتَيْنِ تُوطَآَنِ وَمُرْ بِالْكَلْبِ فَلْيُخْرَجْ فَفَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِذَا الْكَلْبُ لِحَسَنٍ أَوْ حُسَيْنٍ كَانَ تَحْتَ نَضَدٍ لَهُمْ فَأُمِرَ بِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : وَالنَّضَدُ شَيْءٌ تُوضَعُ عَلَيْهِ الثِّيَابُ شَبَهُ السَّرِيرِ .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Gabriel ﷺ came to me and said: I came to you last night and was prevented from entering simply because there were images at the door, for there was a decorated curtain with images on it in the house, and there was a dog in the house. So order the head of the image which is in the house to be cut off so that it resembles the form of a tree; order the curtain to be cut up and made into two cushions spread out on which people may tread; and order the dog to be turned out. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then did so. The dog belonged to al-Hasan or al-Husayn and was under their couch. So he ordered it to be turned out. Abu Dawud said: Al-Nadd means a thing on which clothes are placed like a couch.
Hadith 4170

أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ
أَبَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " لُعِنَتِ الْوَاصِلَةُ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةُ وَالنَّامِصَةُ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَةُ وَالْوَاشِمَةُ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةُ مِنْ غَيْرِ دَاءٍ " ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : وَتَفْسِيرُ الْوَاصِلَةِ الَّتِي تَصِلُ الشَّعْرَ بِشَعْرِ النِّسَاءِ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةُ الْمَعْمُولُ بِهَا ، وَالنَّامِصَةُ الَّتِي تَنْقُشُ الْحَاجِبَ حَتَّى تُرِقَّهُ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَةُ الْمَعْمُولُ بِهَا ، وَالْوَاشِمَةُ الَّتِي تَجْعَلُ الْخِيلَانَ فِي وَجْهِهَا بِكُحْلٍ أَوْ مِدَادٍ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةُ الْمَعْمُولُ بِهَا .
Narrated Ibn Abbas: The woman who supplies fake hair and the one who asks for it, the woman who pulls out hair for other people and the woman who depilates herself, the woman who tattoos and the one who has it done when there is no disease to justify it have been cursed. Abu Dawud said: Wasilah means the woman who adds false hair to the hair of women. Mustawsilah means the one who asks for adding the hair to her hair. namisah means a woman who plucks hair from the brow until she makes it thin; mutanammisah means the woman who depilates herself ; washimah is a woman who tattoos in the face with antimony or ink ; mustawshimah is a woman with whom it is done.
Hadith 4191
Narrated Umm Hani: The Prophet ﷺ came to Makkah and he had four plaits of hair.
Hadith 4414
Mujahid said: “Apponting a way in the verse (iv. 15) means prescribed punishment. Sufiyan said: “Punish them “refers to unmarried, and “confine them to houses” refers to the women who are married.
Hadith 4463
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, he will be stoned to death. Abu Dawud said: The tradition of Asim proved the tradition of Amir bin Abi Amr as weak.
Hadith 4550
حَدَّثَنَا
النُّفَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدٍ ، قَالَ : " قَضَى عُمَرُ فِي شِبْهِ الْعَمْدِ ثَلَاثِينَ حِقَّةً ، وَثَلَاثِينَ جَذَعَةً ، وَأَرْبَعِينَ خَلِفَةً ، مَا بَيْنَ ثَنِيَّةٍ إِلَى بَازِلِ عَامِهَا " .
Narrated Mujahid: Umar gave judgement that bloodwit for quasi-intentional murder should be thirty she-camels in their fourth year, thirty she-camels in their fifth year, and forty pregnant she-camels in their sixth year up to the ninth
Hadith 4569
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Mansur through a different chain of narrators and to the same effect. This version adds: The Prophet ﷺ fixed the bloodwit for the slain woman to be paid by the relatives of the woman who had slain her, on the father's side. Abu Dawud said: In a similar way it has been transmitted by al-Hakam from Mujahid from al-Mughirah.
Hadith 4599
Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet ﷺ said: The best of the actions is to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for the sake of Allah.
Hadith 4793
The tradition mentioned above has been transmitted by Aishah through a different chain of narrators. This version has: The Prophet ﷺ said: Aishah! There are some bad people who are respected for fear of their tongues.
Hadith 4836
حَدَّثَنَا
مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا

سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي
إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُهَاجِرِ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ
قَائِدِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ
السَّائِبِ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَعَلُوا يُثْنُونَ عَلَيَّ وَيَذْكُرُونِّي ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَا أَعْلَمُكُمْ يَعْنِي بِهِ , قُلْتُ : صَدَقْتَ ، بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي كُنْتَ شَرِيكِي فَنِعْمَ الشَّرِيكُ كُنْتَ لَا تُدَارِي وَلَا تُمَارِي .
Narrated as-Saib: I came to the Prophet ﷺ. The people began to praise me and make a mention of me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I know you, that is, he knew him. I said: My father and mother be sacrificed for you! you were my partner and how good a partner ; you neither disputed nor quarrelled.
Hadith 5109

وَسَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو عَوَانَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا
عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
جَرِيرٌ الْمَعْنَى ، عَنْ
الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ اسْتَعَاذَكُمْ بِاللَّهِ فَأَعِيذُوهُ ، وَمَنْ سَأَلَكُمْ بِاللَّهِ فَأَعْطُوهُ " , وَقَالَ سَهْلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ : وَمَنْ دَعَاكُمْ فَأَجِيبُوهُ , ثُمَّ اتَّفَقُوا : وَمَنْ آتَى إِلَيْكُمْ مَعْرُوفًا فَكَافِئُوهُ , قال مُسَدَّدٌ وَعُثْمَانُ : فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا ، فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ لَهُ حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا أَنْ قَدْ كَافَأْتُمُوهُ .
Ibn Abbas reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: If anyone asks you refuge for Allah’s sake give him refuge; and if anyone asks you (for something) for Allah’s sake, give him. Sahl and Sulaiman said: if anyone calls you, respond to him. The Agreed version goes; if you do not afford to compensate him, pray Allah for him until you know that you have compensated him.
Hadith 5152
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: Mujahid said that Abdullah ibn Amr slaughtered a sheep and said: Have you presented a gift from it to my neighbour, the Jew, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Gabriel kept on commending the neighbour to me so that I thought he would make an heir?
Hadith 5161

مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ
مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَاءَمَكُمْ مِنْ مَمْلُوكِيكُمْ ، فَأَطْعِمُوهُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ وَاكْسُوهُ مِمَّا تَلْبَسُونَ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُلَائِمْكُمْ مِنْهُمْ فَبِيعُوهُ ، وَلَا تُعَذِّبُوا خَلْقَ اللَّهِ " .
Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet ﷺ said: Feed those of your slaves who please you from what you eat and clothe them with what you clothe yourselves, but sell those who do not please you and do not punish Allah's creatures.
