Hadith 955
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ قال : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " آيَاتٌ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيَّ اللَّيْلَةَ لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهُنَّ قَطُّ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ، وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ " .
´It was narrated that Uqbah bin Amr said:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Some verses were revealed to me tonight, the likes of which have never been seen: "Say: I seek refuge with (Allah), the Lord of the daybreak." [Surat al-Falaq:1] and "Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind." [Surat an-Naas:1]'
Hadith 1463
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ , وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا " .
´It was narrated that Abu Mas'ud said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The sun and the moon do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, so when you see that then pray.'"
Hadith 1824
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسٌ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى خَبَّابٍ وَقَدِ اكْتَوَى فِي بَطْنِهِ سَبْعًا وَقَالَ : " لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ دَعَوْتُ بِهِ " .
´Qais said:` "I entered upon Khabbab when he had been cauterized on his stomach seven times. He said: 'Were it not that the Messenger of Allah forbade us to pray for death, I would have prayed for it."'
Hadith 4137
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اسْتَنْصِتِ النَّاسَ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " لَا أُلْفِيَنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ مَا أَرَى تَرْجِعُونَ بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ " .
´It was narrated that Jarir bin 'Abdullah said:` "The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to me: 'Ask the people to be quiet and listen.' Then he said: 'I do not want to see you after I am gone reverting to disbelievers, striking the necks of one another (killing one another).'"
Hadith 4784
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً إِلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ فَاسْتَعْصَمُوا بِالسُّجُودِ , فَقُتِلُوا ، فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنِصْفِ الْعَقْلِ ، وَقَالَ : " إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ مَعَ مُشْرِكٍ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا لَا تَرَاءَى نَارَاهُمَا " .
´It was narrated from Anas that:` the Messenger of Allah sent a detachment jof troops to some people of Khath'am, who sought to protect themselves by prostrating (to demonstrate that they were Muslims), but they were killed. The Messenger of Allah ruled that half the Diyah should be paid, and said: "I am innocent of any Muslim who (lives with) a Mushrik.' Then the Messenger of Allah said: "Their fires should not be visible to one another."'
Hadith 5322
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ ، عَنْ خَبَّابِ بْنِ الْأَرَتِّ ، قَالَ : " شَكَوْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُتَوَسِّدٌ بُرْدَةً لَهُ فِي ظِلِّ الْكَعْبَةِ " , فَقُلْنَا : أَلَا تَسْتَنْصِرُ لَنَا أَلَا تَدْعُو اللَّهَ لَنَا " .
´It was narrated that Khabbab bin Al-Aratt said:` "We complained to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] when he was reclining on his rolled-up Burdah in the shade of the Ka'bah. We said: 'Will you not pray for victory for us, will you not pray to Allah for us?'"
Hadith 5442
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ آيَاتٌ لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهُنَّ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ إِلَى آخِرِ السُّورَةِ , وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلَى آخِرِ السُّورَةِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir that:` The Prophet [SAW] said: "There have been revealed to me Verses the like of which has never been seen: 'Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of the daybreak...' to the end of the Surah, and 'Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind...' to the end of the Surah."
Hadith 5710
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ , عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ , عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ , قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيذُ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَدْ خُلِّلَ " , وَمِمَّا يَدُلُّ عَلَى صِحَّةِ هَذَا حَدِيثُ السَّائِبِ .
´It was narrated that 'Utbah bin Farqad said:` "The Nabidh that 'Umar bin Al-Khattab used to drink had turned to vinegar."
Hadith 5724
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ , قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ , عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ , قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ , عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَشْرَبُ مِنَ الطِّلَاءِ مَا ذَهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَبَقِيَ ثُلُثُهُ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Musa Al-'Ash'ari that:` He used to drink thickened grape juice that of which two-third had gone and one-third was left.
