Hadith 48
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Shuraih al-Khuzai' that the Prophet (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed: He who believes in Allah and the Last Day should do good to his neighbour and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should show hospitality to the guest and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should either speak good or better remain silent.
Hadith 55
It is narrated on the authority of Tamim ad-Dari that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Al-Din is a name of sincerity and well wishing. Upon this we said: For whom? He replied: For Allah, His Book, His Messenger and for the leaders and the general Muslims.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أُرَاهُ مَرْفُوعًا ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ، رَجُلٌ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، عَلَى مَالِ مُسْلِمٍ فَاقْتَطَعَهُ ، وَبَاقِي حَدِيثِهِ نَحْوُ حَدِيثِ الأَعْمَشِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that he (the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) ) observed: Three are the persons with whom Allah would neither speak (on the Day of Resurrection) nor would He look at them, and there would be a painful chastisement for them, a person who took an oath on the goods of a Muslim in the afternoon and then broke it. The rest of the hadith is the same as narrated by A'mash.
Hadith 191
Jabir reported that he had heard with his ears the Apostle (ﷺ) saying: Allah will bring out people from the Fire and admit them into Paradise.

Hammad bin Zaid, reported: I said to 'Amr bin Dinar: Did you hear Jabir bin 'Abdullah narrating from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that Allah would bring out people from the Fire through intercession. He said: Yes.

Ibn Abbas (RA) said: Maimuna (the wife of the Holy Prophet) reported to me that she and the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) took a bath from one vessel.

Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took a bath with the water left over by Maimuna.
Hadith 340
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported: When the Ka’bah was constructed the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) and Abbas went and lifted stones. Abbas said to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) : Place your lower garment on your shoulder (so that you may protect yourself from the roughness and hardness of stones). He (the Holy Prophet) did this, but fell down upon the ground in a state of unconciousness and his eyes were turned towards the sky. He then stood up and said: My lower garment, my lower garment; and this wrapper was tied around him. In the hadith transmitted by Ibn Rafi', there is the word: "On his neck" and he did not say: "Upon his shoulder."

جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَنْقُلُ مَعَهُمُ الْحِجَارَةَ لِلْكَعْبَةِ ، وَعَلَيْهِ إِزَارُهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ عَمُّهُ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، لَوْ حَلَلْتَ إِزَارَكَ ، فَجَعَلْتَهُ عَلَى مَنْكِبِكَ دُونَ الْحِجَارَةِ ، قَالَ : فَحَلَّهُ ، فَجَعَلَهُ عَلَى مَنْكِبِهِ ، فَسَقَطَ مَغْشِيًّا عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَمَا رُؤِيَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ عُرْيَانًا " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was carrying along with them (his people) stones for the Ka’bah and there was a waist wrapper around him. His uncle, 'Abbas, said to him: O son of my brother! if you take off the lower garment and place it on the shoulders underneath the stones, it would be better. He (the Holy Prophet) took it off and placed it on his shoulder and fell down unconscious. He (the narrator) said: Never was he seen naked after that day.
Hadith 363
Ibn Abbas (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) happened to pass by a goat thrown (away) which had been in fact given to the freed slave-girl of Maimuna as charity. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) said: Why did they not get its skin? They had better tan it and make use of it.
Hadith 364
Ibn'Abbas reported on the authority of Maimuna that someone amongst the wives of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had a domestic animal and it died. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Why did you not take off its skin and make use of that?

Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) came out of the privy, and he was presented with some food, and the people reminded him about ablution, but he said: Am I to say prayer that I should perform ablution?

Hadith 374

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ائْذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ بِاللَّيْلِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ ، فَقَالَ ابْنٌ لَهُ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ وَاقِدٌ : إِذًا يَتَّخِذْنَهُ دَغَلًا ، قَالَ : فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِهِ ، وَقَالَ : أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَتَقُولُ : لَا .
Ibn 'Umar reported: Grant permission to women for going to the mosque in the night. His son who was called Waqid said: Then they would make mischief. He (the narrator) said: He thumped his (son's) chest and said: I am narrating to you the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , and you say: No!

جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ مُعَاذٌ ، يُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي فَيَؤُمُّ قَوْمَهُ ، فَصَلَّى لَيْلَةً مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعِشَاءَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى قَوْمَهُ فَأَمَّهُمْ ، فَافْتَتَحَ بِسُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ، فَانْحَرَفَ رَجُلٌ ، فَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَحْدَهُ وَانْصَرَفَ ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ : أَنَافَقْتَ يَا فُلَانُ ؟ قَالَ : لَا وَاللَّهِ ، وَلَآتِيَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَأُخْبِرَنَّهُ ، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا أَصْحَابُ نَوَاضِحَ ، نَعْمَلُ بِالنَّهَارِ ، وَإِنَّ مُعَاذًا ، صَلَّى مَعَكَ الْعِشَاءَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى فَافْتَتَحَ بِسُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ، فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مُعَاذٍ ، فَقَالَ : يَا مُعَاذُ ، أَفَتَّانٌ أَنْتَ ، اقْرَأْ بِكَذَا ، وَاقْرَأْ بِكَذَا ، قَالَ
سُفْيَانُ : فَقُلْتُ لِعَمْرٍو : إِنَّ
أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : اقْرَأْ : وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا ، وَالضُّحَى ، وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى ، وَسَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى ، فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو : نَحْوَ هَذَا " .
Jabir reported that Mu'adh bin Jabal used to pray with the Apostle (ﷺ) , then came and led his people in prayer. One night he said the night prayer with the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) . He then came to his people and led them in prayer beginning with Surat al-Baqarah. A man turned aside, pronounced the taslim (salutation for concluding the prayer), then prayed alone and departed. The people said to him: Have you become a hypocrite, so and so? He said: I swear by Allah that I have not, but I will certainly go to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and will inform (him) about this. He then came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah, we look after camels used for watering and work by day. Mu'idh said the night prayer with you. He then came and began with Surat al-Baqarah. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then turned to Mu'adh and said: Are you there to (put the people) to trial? Recite such and recite such (and such a surah). It is transmitted on the authority of Jabir, as told by Sufyan, that he (the Holy Prophet) had said: "By the Sun and its morning brightness" (Sarah xci.)," By brightness" (Surah xciii)" By the night when it spreads" (Surah xcii.), and" Glorify the name of thy most high Lord" (Surah lxxxii.).
Hadith 465
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported: Mu'adh bin Jabal said the night prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and then returned to his people and then led them in this prayer.

Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had been commanded that he should prostrate on the seven (bones) and he was forbidden to fold back the hair and clothing. And in the narration transmitted by Abu Rabi' (the words are): "on the seven bones and I was forbidden to fold back the hair and clothing". According to Abu'l-Rabi' (the seven bones are): The hands, the knees, and the (extremities) of the feet and the forehead.
Hadith 490
Ibn 'Abbas reported from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) : I was commanded to prostrate myself on seven bones and not to fold back clothing or hair.

Ibn 'Abbas said: We used to know that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had finished his prayer when we heard the takbir (Allah-O-Akbar).

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا كُنَّا نَعْرِفُ انْقِضَاءَ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِلَّا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ " ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِأَبِي مَعْبَدٍ ، فَأَنْكَرَهُ ، وَقَالَ : لَمْ أُحَدِّثْكَ بِهَذَا ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنِيهِ قَبْلَ ذَلِك .
Ibn 'Abbas reported: We knew the finishing of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) through takbir. 'Amr (b. Dinar) said: I made a mention of it to Abu Mas'ud. hue he rejected it and said: I never narrated it to you. 'Amr said: He did narrate it before this.
Hadith 583
Ibn 'Abbas reported: Dhikr (mentioning the name of Allah) in a loud voice after obligatory prayers was (a common practice) during the lifetime of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) ; and when I heard that I came to knew that they (the people) had finished the prayer.

أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عُوذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ ، عُوذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، عُوذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ ، عُوذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: Seek refuge with Allah from the torment of Hell, seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave, and seek refuge with Allah from the trial of Masih al-Dajjal and seek refuge with Allah from the trial of life and death.
Hadith 705
Ibn 'Abbas reported: I observed with the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) eight (rak'ahs) in combination, and seven rak'ahs in combination. I (one of the narrators) said: O Abd Sha'tha', I think that he (the Holy Prophet) had delayed the noon prayer and hastened the afternoon prayer, and he delayed the sunset prayer and hastened the 'Isha' prayer. He said: I also think so.
Hadith 705
Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed in Madinah seven (rak'ahs) and eight (rak'ahs), i. e. (be combined) the noon and afternoon prayers (eight rak'ahs) and the sunset and 'Isha' prayers (seven rak'ahs).

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ بَاتَ عِنْدَ خَالَتِهِ مَيْمُونَةَ ، " فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقٍ وُضُوءًا خَفِيفًا ، قَالَ : وَصَفَ وُضُوءَهُ وَجَعَلَ يُخَفِّفُهُ وَيُقَلِّلُهُ ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : فَقُمْتُ فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَأَخْلَفَنِي فَجَعَلَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، فَصَلَّى ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ فَنَامَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بِلَالٌ فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : وَهَذَا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاصَّةً لِأَنَّهُ بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، تَنَامُ عَيْنَاهُ وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبُهُ " .
Ibn 'Abbas reported that he spent a night in the house of his matenial aunt, Maimuna. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) got up at night and performed short ablution (taking water) from the water-skin hanging there. (Giving a description of the ablution Ibn 'Abbas said: It was short and performed with a little water.) I also got up and did the same as the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had done. I then came (to him) and stood on his left. He then made me go around to his right side. He then observed prayer and went to sleep till he began to snore. Bilal (RA) came to him and informed him about the prayer. He (the Holy Prophet) then went out and observed the dawn prayer without performing ablution. Sufyan said: It was a special (prerogative of the) Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) for it has been conveyed to us that the eyes of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) sleep, but his heart does not sleep.
Hadith 871
Safwan bin Ya'la reported on the authority of his father that he heard the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) reciting (verses of the Qur'an) on the pulpit. and" They cried: O Malik."
Hadith 875
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported that while Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon on Friday a person came there, and the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: So and so, have you prayed (two rak'ahs)? He said: No. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Then stand and pray.
Hadith 875
This hadith is narrated by Jabir through another chain of transmitters but Hammad (one of the narrators) made no mention of the two rak'ahs.

Jabir bin 'Abdullah said that a person entered the Mosque while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon on Friday. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: Have you observed prayer? He said: No. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Stand and offer the two rak'ahs. According to Qutaiba, the words are:" He said: Offer two rak'ahs."
Hadith 875
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported that a person came (in the Mosque) while the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon on Friday (standing) on the pulpit. He (the Holy Prophet) said to him: "Have you offered two rak'ahs?" He said: "No". Upon this he said: "Then observe (them)".
Hadith 875
Jabir bin 'Abdullah said that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) delivered the sermon and said: When any one of you comes for the Friday (prayer) and the Imam comes out (from his apartment), (even then) should one observe two rak'ahs (of prayer).

Salim narrated on the authority of his father that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) used to observe two rak'ahs after Jumu'a.

عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَمَا نَصَّهُ أَيُّوبُ ، وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، وَحَدِيثُهُمَا أَتَمُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَمْرٍ .
'Amr reported on the authority of Ibn Abu Mulaikah (RA) : We were with the bier of Umm Aban, daughter of 'Uthman, and the rest of the hadith is the same, but he did not narrate it as a marfu' hadith on the authority of 'Umar from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) as it was narrated by Ayyub and Ibn Juraij, and the hadith narrated by them (Ayyub and Ibn Juraij) is more complete than that of 'Amr.
