Hadith 259
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْعَبَّادَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَشْعَثَ بْنَ سَوَّارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ لِتُبَاهُوا بِهِ الْعُلَمَاءَ ، أَوْ لِتُمَارُوا بِهِ السُّفَهَاءَ ، أَوْ لِتَصْرِفُوا وُجُوهَ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكُمْ ، فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ " .
´It was narrated that Hudhaifah said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Do not acquire knowledge in order to show off before the scholars, or to argue with the foolish, or to attract people's attention, for whoever does that will be in Hell.'"
Hadith 1757
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صِيَامُ شَهْرٍ فَلْيُطْعَمْ عَنْهُ مَكَانَ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مِسْكِينٌ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` ‘Whoever dies owing the fasts of a month, one poor person should be fed on his behalf for each day.”
Hadith 2607
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنِ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ بِي خَالِي سَمَّاهُ هُشَيْمٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : الْحَارِثَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو وَقَدْ عَقَدَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِوَاءً ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ " .
´It was narrated that Bara bin Azib said:` “My maternal uncle passed by me - (one of the narrators) Hushaim named him in his narration as Harith bin Amr - and the Prophet (ﷺ) had given him a banner to carry. I said to him: 'Where are you going?’ He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has sent me to a man who married his father's wife after he died, and has commanded me to strike his neck (i.e. execute him).”
Hadith 2973
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، طَافَ لِلْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا " .
It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed one Tawaf for Hajj and ‘Umrah.
Hadith 3038
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : " حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَنَا النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ ، فَلَبَّيْنَا عَنِ الصِّبْيَانِ وَرَمَيْنَا عَنْهُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “We performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and there were women and children with us. We recited Talbiyah on behalf of the children and stoned the Pillars on their behalf.”
