Hadith 1161
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُعَاوِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُحَرِّكُ الْحَصَى بِيَدِهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ لَهُ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ لَا تُحَرِّكِ الْحَصَى وَأَنْتَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَلَكِنِ اصْنَعْ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ قَالَ : وَكَيْفَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ قَالَ : " فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَأَشَارَ بِأُصْبُعِهِ الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ فِي الْقِبْلَةِ وَرَمَى بِبَصَرِهِ إِلَيْهَا أَوْ نَحْوِهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that:` He saw a man moving pebbles with his hand while praying. When he finished, 'Abdullah said to him: "Do not move the pebbles while you are praying, for that is from Shaitan. Rather do what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do." He said: "What did he used to do?" He said: "He would put his right hand on his right thigh, and point with the finger that is next to the thumb toward the Qiblah, and he would look at it, or thereabouts." Then he said: "This is what I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) doing."
Hadith 1297
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ وَاحِدَةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever sends salah upon me once, Allah (SWT) will send salah upon him tenfold."
Hadith 1354
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ هُوَ ابْنُ بَشِيرٍ ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ , وَمُجَاهِدٍ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ الْفُقَرَاءُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّ الْأَغْنِيَاءَ يُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي , وَيَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ , وَلَهُمْ أَمْوَالٌ يَتَصَدَّقُونَ وَيُنْفِقُونَ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ , فَقُولُوا : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ , وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ , وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ , وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ عَشْرًا , فَإِنَّكُمْ تُدْرِكُونَ بِذَلِكَ مَنْ سَبَقَكُمْ وَتَسْبِقُونَ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:` "Some poor people came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), the rich pray as we pray, and they fast as we fast, but they have wealth that they give in charity and with which they free slaves.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'If you pray and say SubhanAllah thirty-three times, Al-hamdu-lillah thirty-three times and Alahu Akbar thirty-four times, and La illaha illaAllah ten times, then you will catch up with those who went ahead of you and will go ahead of those who come after you."
Hadith 1364
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ ابْنِ فُلْفُلٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ , فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي إِمَامُكُمْ فَلَا تُبَادِرُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ وَلَا بِالسُّجُودِ وَلَا بِالْقِيَامِ وَلَا بِالِانْصِرَافِ , فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ أَمَامِي وَمِنْ خَلْفِي ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , لَوْ رَأَيْتُمْ مَا رَأَيْتُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا " , قُلْنَا : مَا رَأَيْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in prayer one day, then he turned to face us and said: 'I am now your imam, so do not hasten to bow or prostrate or stand or leave before I do. I can see you in front of me and behind me.' Then he said: 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if you had seen what I have seen, you would laugh little and weep much.' We said: 'What have you seen, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?' He said: 'Paradise and Hell.'"
Hadith 1416
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قال : " جَالَسْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ يَخْطُبُ إِلَّا قَائِمًا وَيَجْلِسُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ الْخُطْبَةَ الْآخِرَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:` "I sat with the Prophet (ﷺ) and I did not see him deliver the khutbah except standing, and he sat, then he stood up and delivered the second khutbah."
Hadith 1421
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قال : قَالَ عُمَرُ : " صَلَاةُ الْجُمُعَةِ رَكْعَتَانِ ، وَصَلَاةُ الْفِطْرِ رَكْعَتَانِ ، وَصَلَاةُ الْأَضْحَى رَكْعَتَانِ ، وَصَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَانِ ، تَمَامٌ غَيْرُ قَصْرٍ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " , قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُمَرَ .
´It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Laila that 'Umar said:` "Jumu'ah prayer is two rak'ahs, and the prayer of Al-Fitr is two rak'ahs, and the prayer of Al-Adha is two rak'ahs, and the prayer when traveling is two rak'ahs, complete and not shortened, on the tongue of Muhammad (ﷺ)."
Hadith 1519
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمٌ يَخْطُبُ ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمًا ، وَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلَكَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُغِيثَنَا ، فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا " ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : وَلَا وَاللَّهِ مَا نَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ مِنْ سَحَابَةٍ وَلَا قَزَعَةٍ وَمَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ سَلْعٍ مِنْ بَيْتٍ وَلَا دَارٍ فَطَلَعَتْ سَحَابَةٌ مِثْلُ التُّرْسِ ، فَلَمَّا تَوَسَّطَتِ السَّمَاءَ انْتَشَرَتْ وَأَمْطَرَتْ ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : وَلَا وَاللَّهِ مَا رَأَيْنَا الشَّمْسَ سَبْتًا ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابِ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ الْمُقْبِلَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمٌ يَخْطُبُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ قَائِمًا ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْكَ ، هَلَكَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُمْسِكَهَا عَنَّا ، فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الْآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَبُطُونِ الْأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ " قَالَ : فَأَقْلَعَتْ وَخَرَجْنَا نَمْشِي فِي الشَّمْسِ , قَالَ شَرِيكٌ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا أَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ الْأَوَّلُ ؟ قَالَ : لَا .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:` A man entered the masjid when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was standing and delivering the Khutbah. He turned to face the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) standing and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, our wealth has been destroyed and the routes have been cut off. Pray to Allah (SWT) to send us rain.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands then said: "O Allah, send us rain." Anas said: "By Allah, we had not seen even a wisp of a cloud in the sky and there were no houses or buildings between us and (the mountain of ) Sal'. Then a cloud like a shield appeared, and when it reached the middle of the sky it spread and it began to rain." Anas said: "By Allah, we did not see the sun for a week. Then a man entered through that door on the following Friday, when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was standing and delivering the Khutbah. He turned to face him standing and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), may Allah (SWT) send blessings upon you. Our wealth has been destroyed and the routes have been cut off. Pray to Allah (SWT) to withold (the rain) from us.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, around us and not on us.; O Allah, on the hills and mountains, the bottoms of the valleys and where the trees grow.' Then it stopped raining and we went out walking in the sun." Sharik said: 'I asked Anas: 'Was he the same man?' He said: 'No.'"
Hadith 1528
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قال : قَحَطَ الْمَطَرُ عَامًا ، فَقَامَ بَعْضُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قَحَطَ الْمَطَرُ وَأَجْدَبَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَهَلَكَ الْمَالُ , قَالَ : " فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَمَا نَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ سَحَابَةً ، فَمَدَّ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ يَسْتَسْقِي اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " , قَالَ : فَمَا صَلَّيْنَا الْجُمُعَةَ حَتَّى أَهَمَّ الشَّابَّ الْقَرِيبَ الدَّارِ الرُّجُوعُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَدَامَتْ جُمُعَةٌ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَتِ الْجُمُعَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا , قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , تَهَدَّمَتِ الْبُيُوتُ وَاحْتَبَسَ الرُّكْبَانُ , قَالَ : " فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِسُرْعَةِ مَلَالَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ وَقَالَ بِيَدَيْهِ : " اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا فَتَكَشَّطَتْ عَنِ الْمَدِينَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "There was no rain for a year, so some of the Muslims went to the Prophet (ﷺ) one Friday and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, there has been no rain; the land has become bare and our wealth has been destroyed.' He raised his hands, and we did not see any cloud in the sky. He stretched forth his hands until I could see the whiteness of his armpits, praying to Allah (SWT) for rain. When we finished praying Jumu'ah, even a young man whose house nearby was worried about how he would get home. That lasted for a week, then on the following Friday they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, houses have been destroyed and all travel has been ceased.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) smiled at how quickly the sons of Adam become weary, and he said with his hands raised: 'O Allah, around us and not on us,' and it dispersed from Al-Madinah."
Hadith 1557
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قال : كَانَ لِأَهْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَوْمَانِ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا , فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ , قَالَ : " كَانَ لَكُمْ يَوْمَانِ تَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا , وَقَدْ أَبْدَلَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِمَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمَا يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The people of the Jahiliyyah had two days each year when they would play. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah he said: 'You had two days when you would play, but Allah (SWT) has given Muslims something instead that is better than them: the day of Al-Fitr and the day of Al-Adha.'"
Hadith 1581
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ , قال : أَنْبَأَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ خَطَبَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ , فَقَالَ " أَدُّوا زَكَاةَ صَوْمِكُمْ , فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ , فَقَالَ : مَنْ هَاهُنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ , قُومُوا إِلَى إِخْوَانِكُمْ فَعَلِّمُوهُمْ , فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ , وَالْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدِ , وَالذَّكَرِ وَالْأُنْثَى نِصْفَ صَاعٍ مِنْ بُرٍّ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ شَعِيرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Al-Hasan that :` Ibn 'Abbas gave a Khutbah in Al-Basrah and said: "Pay the zakah of your fasting." The people started looking at one another. He said: "Whoever there is here from the people of Al-Madinah, get up and teach your brothers, for they do not know that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) enjoined sadaqat al-fitr on the young and the old, the free and the slave, the male and the female; half a sa' of wheat or a sa' of dried dates or barley.'"
Hadith 1822
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ . ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ لِضُرٍّ نَزَلَ بِهِ فَإِنْ كَانَ لَا بُدَّ مُتَمَنِّيًا الْمَوْتَ فَلْيَقُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي , وَتَوَفَّنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'None of you should wish for death because of some harm that befalls him. If he must wish for death, let him say: Allahumma ahini ma kanatil-hayatu khairantli wa tawaffani idha kanatil-wafatu khairanli (O Allah, keep me alive so long as life is good for me, and cause me to die when death is good for me)"
Hadith 1860
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ هُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، أَنَّ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الْأَزْرَقِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : مَاتَ مَيِّتٌ مِنْ آلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاجْتَمَعَ النِّسَاءُ يَبْكِينَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَامَ عُمَرُ يَنْهَاهُنَّ وَيَطْرُدُهُنَّ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعْهُنَّ يَا عُمَرُ فَإِنَّ الْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ , وَالْقَلْبَ مُصَابٌ , وَالْعَهْدَ قَرِيبٌ " .
´It was narrated from Muhammad bin 'Amr bin 'Ata that Salamah bin Al-Azraq said:` "I heard Abu Hurairah say: 'Someone from the family of the Messenger of Allah died, and the women gathered, weeping for him. 'Umar stood up and told them not to do that, and threw them out, but the Messenger of Allah said: Let them be there, O 'Umar, for the eye weeps and the heart grieves, but soon we will join them."
Hadith 1914
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَهُشَيْمٌ , عَنْ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، قال : " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّا لَنَكَادُ نَرْمُلُ بِهَا رَمَلًا " , وَاللَّفْظُ حَدِيثُ هُشَيْمٍ .
´It was narrated that Abu Bakrah said:` "I remember when we were with the Messnger of Allah, and we were walking fast with it (the Janazah)." This is the wording of Hushaim.
Hadith 1918
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ . ح وأَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجَنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا فَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا فَلَا يَقْعُدْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'When you see a funeral, stand up, and whoever follows it, let him not sit down until (the body) is placed (in the grave)."
Hadith 1923
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ . ح وأَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : مَرَّتْ بِنَا جَنَازَةٌ , فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقُمْنَا مَعَهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّمَا هِيَ جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيَّةٍ , فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ لِلْمَوْتِ فَزَعًا ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجَنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا " , اللَّفْظُ لِخَالِدٍ .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:` "A funeral passed by us and the Messenger of Allah stood up and we stood with him. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, it is a Jewish funeral.' He said: 'Death is something terrifying, so if you see a funeral, stand up,"' This is the wording of Khalid.
Hadith 1946
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ , وَقُتَيْبَةُ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ " رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَمْشُونَ أَمَامَ الْجَنَازَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim:` That his father saw the Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr and 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, walking in front of the Janazah.
Hadith 1948
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Imran bin Husain said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your brother has died, so get up and pray for him."'
Hadith 1960
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زَاذَانَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةً مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرَهُمْ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَغَضِبَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ " ، ثُمَّ دَعَا مَمْلُوكِيهِ فَجَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ ، ثُمَّ أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً " .
´It was narrated from 'Imran bin Husain that:` a man freed six slaves of his when he was dying, and he did not have any wealth apart from them. News of that reached the Prophet and he was angry about that. He said: "I was thinking of not offering the funeral prapyer for him." Then he called the slaves and divided them into three groups. He cast lost among them, then freed two and left four as slaves.
Hadith 1969
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سُهَيْلِ ابْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah did not ofer gthe funeral prayer for shail bin Baida anywhere but in the Masjid."
Hadith 1975
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ " ، فَصَفَفْنَا عَلَيْهِ صَفَّيْنِ .
´It was narrated from Jabir that:` the Messenger of Allah said: "Your brother has died, so get up and offer the funeral prayer for him." So we formed two rows for him."
Hadith 1981
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى . ح وأَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدٌ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُكْتِبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى عَلَى أُمِّ فُلَانٍ مَاتَتْ فِي نِفَاسِهَا فَقَامَ فِي وَسَطِهَا " .
´It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundab:` That the Messenger of Allah offered the funeral prayer for a mother who had died in childbirth, and he stood in line with her middle.
Hadith 2041
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي نَمِرٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلَّمَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَخْرُجُ فِي آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ ، فَيَقُولُ : " السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ ، وَإِنَّا وَإِيَّاكُمْ مُتَوَاعِدُونَ غَدًا أَوْ مُوَاكِلُونَ ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِأَهْلِ بَقِيعِ الْغَرْقَدِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said that:` every time it was her night for the Messenger of Allah to stay with her, he would go out at the end of the night to Al-Baqi' and say: "As-salamu 'alaykum dara qawmin mu'minin, wa inna wa iyyakum mutawa'idun ghadan wa mutawakilun, wa inna in sha' Allahu bikum lahiqun. Allahummaghfir li ahli baqi'il gharaqad. (Peace be upon you, O abode of believing people. You and we used to remind one another about the Day of Resurrection and we are relying on one another (with regard to intercession and bearing witness). Soon we will join you, if Allah willing. O Allah, forgive the people of Baqi' Al-Charqad.)"
Hadith 2092
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَائِرَ الرَّأْسِ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبِرْنِي مَاذَا فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ ، قَالَ : " الصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ تَطَوَّعَ شَيْئًا " , قَالَ أَخْبِرْنِي بِمَا افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ مِنَ الصِّيَامِ ، قَالَ : " صِيَامُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ، إِلَّا أَنْ تَطَوَّعَ شَيْئًا " , قَالَ : أَخْبِرْنِي بِمَا افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ مِنَ الزَّكَاةِ ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَرَائِعِ الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَقَالَ : وَالَّذِي أَكْرَمَكَ لَا أَتَطَوَّعُ شَيْئًا وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِمَّا فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ شَيْئًا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَفْلَحَ إِنْ صَدَقَ أَوْ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِنْ صَدَقَ " .
´It was narrated from Talhah bin 'Ubaidullah that:` a Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah with unkempt hair and said: "O Allah has enjoined upon me of Salah." He said: "The five daily prayers, unless you do any more voluntarily." He said: "Tell me what Allah has enjoined upon me voluntarily." He said: "Tell me what Allah has enjoined upon me of fasting." He said: "Fasting the month of Ramadan, unless you do any more voluntarily." He said: "Tell me what Allah has enjoined upon me of Zakah." The Messenger of Allah told him of the laws of Islam, He said: "By the One Who has honored you, I will not do anything voluntarily, and I will not do anything voluntarily, and I will not do less than that which Allah has enjoined upon, me: The Messenger of Allah said: "He will succeed if he is sincere," or "He will enter Paradise if he is sincere."
Hadith 2099
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ، فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ ، وَصُفِّدَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:` "When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are shut, and the devils are fettered."
Hadith 2113
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي حَرْمَلَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي كُرَيْبٌ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بَعَثَتْهُ إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ بِالشَّامِ , قَالَ : " فَقَدِمْتُ الشَّامَ فَقَضَيْتُ حَاجَتَهَا ، وَاسْتَهَلَّ عَلَيَّ هِلَالُ رَمَضَانَ وَأَنَا بِالشَّامِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ الْهِلَالَ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، ثُمَّ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فِي آخِرِ الشَّهْرِ ، فَسَأَلَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْهِلَالَ ، فَقَالَ : مَتَى رَأَيْتُمْ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : رَأَيْنَاهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ , قَالَ : أَنْتَ رَأَيْتَهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ ؟ قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، وَرَآهُ النَّاسُ فَصَامُوا وَصَامَ مُعَاوِيَةُ ؟ قَالَ : لَكِنْ رَأَيْنَاهُ لَيْلَةَ السَّبْتِ ، فَلَا نَزَالُ نَصُومُ حَتَّى نُكْمِلَ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ نَرَاهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَوَ لَا تَكْتَفِي بِرُؤْيَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا هَكَذَا أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´Kuraib narrated that Umm Al-Fadl sent him to Muawiyah in Ash-Sham. He said:` "I came to Ash-Sham. He said: "I came to Ash-Sham and complete her errand. Then the new crescent of Ramadan was sighted while I was in Ash-Sham. I saw the new crescent on the night of Friday, then I came to Al-Madinah at the end of the month. 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas asked me about the sighting of the moon and said: ' When did you see it?' I said: 'We saw it on the night of Friday.' He said; 'You saw it on the ninth of Friday?' I said: 'Yes, and the people saw it and started fasting, and so did Muawiyah. He said: 'But we saw it on the night of Saturday, so we will continue fasting until we have completed thirty days or we see it.' I said: 'Will you not be content with the sighting of Muawiyah and his companions? He said; 'No; this is what the Messenger of Allah enjoined upon us."'
Hadith 2171
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ سورة البقرة آية 187 , قَالَ : " هُوَ سَوَادُ اللَّيْلِ ، وَبَيَاضُ النَّهَارِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Adiyy bin Hatim that:` he asked the Messenger of Allah about the verse "Until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night)." He said: "It is the blackness of the night and the whiteness of the day." '
Hadith 2238
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لِلصَّائِمِينَ بَابٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ الرَّيَّانُ ، لَا يَدْخُلُ فِيهِ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُهُمْ ، فَإِذَا دَخَلَ آخِرُهُمْ أُغْلِقَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فِيهِ شَرِبَ ، وَمَنْ شَرِبَ لَمْ يَظْمَأْ أَبَدًا " .
´It was narrated from Sahi bin Sad that the Prophet said:` "For those who fast there is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyan, through which no one but they will enter. When the last of them has entered it, it will be closed. Whoever enters through it will drink, and whoever drinks will never thirst again."
Hadith 2320
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ الْعَدَوِيَّةِ ، " أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ أَتَقْضِي الْحَائِضُ الصَّلَاةَ إِذَا طَهُرَتْ ؟ قَالَتْ : أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ كُنَّا نَحِيضُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ نَطْهُرُ فَيَأْمُرُنَا بِقَضَاءِ الصَّوْمِ ، وَلَا يَأْمُرُنَا بِقَضَاءِ الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated from Muadhah Al-Adawiyyah that a woman asked 'Aishah:` "Should a menstruating woman make up the prayers when she becomes pure?" she said: "Are youa Haruri? We used to menstruate at the time of the Messenger of Allah then we would become pure. He told us to make up the fast, but he did not tell us to make up the prayers."
Hadith 2381
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ! إِنَّ فُلَانًا لَا يُفْطِرُ نَهَارًا الدَّهْرَ , قَالَ : " لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Imran said:` "It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so and so never broke his fast, even for one day for the rest of his life.' He said: 'He has neither fasted nor broken his fast."" 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."
Hadith 2406
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَرْمَلَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : " أَوْصَانِي حَبِيبِي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثَةٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَبَدًا : أَوْصَانِي بِصَلَاةِ الضُّحَى ، وَبِالْوَتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ ، وَبِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Dharr said:` "My beloved Prophet advised me to do three things which I will never give up, if Allah wills. He advised me to pray Duha, to pray Witr before sleeping, and to fast three days of each month."
Hadith 2517
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ خَطَبَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ فَقَالَ : أَدُّوا زَكَاةَ صَوْمِكُمْ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ ، فَقَالَ : مَنْ هَاهُنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ قُومُوا إِلَى إِخْوَانِكُمْ فَعَلِّمُوهُمْ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فَرَضَ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى الصَّغِيرِ ، وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَالْحُرِّ ، وَالْعَبْدِ ، وَالذَّكَرِ ، وَالْأُنْثَى نِصْفَ صَاعِ بُرٍّ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، أَوْ شَعِيرٍ " , قَالَ الْحَسَنُ : فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : أَمَّا إِذَا أَوْسَعَ اللَّهُ فَأَوْسِعُوا أَعْطُوا صَاعًا مِنْ بُرٍّ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ .
´It was narrated from Al-Hasan that Ibn 'Abbas delivered a Khutbah in Al-Basrah and said:` "Give Zakah of your fast." The people started looking at one another. So he said: "Whoever is here of the people of Al-Madinah, get up and teach your brothers, for they do not know that the Messenger of Allah has enjoined Salaqatul Fitr upon young and old, free and slave, male and female; half a Sa' of wheat or a Sa' of dates or barely." Al_Hasan said: 'If Allah has given you more, then give more generously of wheat or something else."'
Hadith 2572
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ التَّمْرَةُ وَالتَّمْرَتَانِ وَاللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ ، إِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ الْمُتَعَفِّفُ اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ : لَا يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the messenger of Allah said:` "The poor man (Miskin) is not the one who leaves if you give him a date or two, or a morsel or two. Rather the poor man is the one who refrains from asking. Recite if you wish: "They do not beg of people at all."'
Hadith 2580
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ رِئَابٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي كِنَانَةُ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ . ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ كِنَانَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ ، قَالَ : تَحَمَّلْتُ حَمَالَةً ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ إِلَّا لِثَلَاثَةٍ ، رَجُلٍ تَحَمَّلَ بِحَمَالَةٍ بَيْنَ قَوْمٍ فَسَأَلَ فِيهَا حَتَّى يُؤَدِّيَهَا ثُمَّ يُمْسِكَ " .
´It was narrated that Qubaisah bin Mukhariq said:` "I undertook a financial responsibility. [1] Then I came to the Prophet and asked him (for help) concerning that. He said: 'Asking (for money) is not permissible except for three: A man who undertakes a financial responsibility between people; he may ask for help with that until the matter is settled, then he should refrain (from asking)."'
Hadith 2703
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ وَبِيصَ الطِّيبِ فِي مَفَارِقِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` 'I saw the glistening of the perfume in the parting of the Messenger of Allah after three (days).
Hadith 2704
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كُنْتُ أَرَى وَبِيصَ الطِّيبِ فِي مَفْرِقِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` 'I used to see the glistening of the perfume in the parting of the Messenger of Allah after three (days)
Hadith 2763
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : نَفَسَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْأَلُهُ كَيْفَ تَفْعَلُ ؟ " فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ وَتَسْتَثْفِرَ بِثَوْبِهَا وَتُهِلَّ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` "Asma' bint 'Umais gave birth to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr and she sent word to the Messenger of Allah asking him what she should do. He told here to perform Ghusl and wrap her private parts in a cloth, and to begin the talbiyah.
Hadith 2965
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ سَبْعًا : رَمَلَ ثَلَاثًا ، وَمَشَى أَرْبَعًا ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى سورة البقرة آية 125 , فَصَلَّى سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، وَجَعَلَ الْمَقَامَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَلَمَ الرُّكْنَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ فَابْدَءُوا بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah performed Tawaf, walking rapidly (Raml) for three circuits, and walking at a normal pace for four. Then he recited:` "And take you the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim as a place of prayer." And prayed two Rak`ahs with the Maqam between him and the Ka`bah. Then he touched the Corner, then he went out and said: 'As-Safa and Al-Marwah are two of the symbols of Allah. We will start with that with which Allah started.'"
Hadith 2968
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " سَقَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ زَمْزَمَ ، فَشَرِبَهُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said:` "I gave the Messenger of Allah some Zamzam to drink and he drank it while standing.
Hadith 2988
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَهَبَ إِلَى الصَّفَا ، فَرَقِيَ عَلَيْهَا ، حَتَّى بَدَا لَهُ الْبَيْتُ ، ثُمَّ وَحَّدَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَكَبَّرَ ، وَقَالَ : " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ " ، ثُمَّ مَشَى ، حَتَّى إِذَا انْصَبَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ ، سَعَى ، حَتَّى إِذَا صَعِدَتْ قَدَمَاهُ ، مَشَى حَتَّى أَتَى الْمَرْوَةَ ، فَفَعَلَ عَلَيْهَا كَمَا فَعَلَ عَلَى الصَّفَا ، حَتَّى قَضَى طَوَافَهُ .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah went to As-Safa and climbed up it and said:` "La ilaha illallah, Wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyi wa yumitu, wa huwaala kulli shayin qadir (There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone with no partner or associate, His is the dominion and to Him be praise, He gives life and death, and He has power over all things)." Then he walked until he reached level ground, then he hastened until the ground began to rise. Then he walked until he came to Al-Marwah, and he did the same there as he had at As-Safa, until he had finished his Sai."
Hadith 3332
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ عُقْبَةَ وَلَكِنِّي لِحَدِيثِ عُبَيْدٍ أَحْفَظُ ، قَالَ : " تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً فَجَاءَتْنَا امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ فُلَانَةَ بِنْتَ فُلَانٍ ، فَجَاءَتْنِي امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَأَتَيْتُهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهِ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنَّهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ، قَالَ : " وَكَيْفَ بِهَا وَقَدْ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا قَدْ أَرْضَعَتْكُمَا دَعْهَا عَنْكَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Uqbah bin Al-Harith said:` I married a woman, then a black woman came to us and said: I breast-fed you both. I went to the Prophet and said: I married so and so and a black woman came to me and said: I breast-fed you both. He turned away from me so I came to him from the other side and said: She is lying. He said: "How can you be intimate with your wife when she says that she breast-fed you both? Leave her (divorce her)."
