Hadith 1213
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْعُكْلِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ نُجَيٍّ , قَالَ : قَالَ عَلِيٌّ : " كَانَ لِي مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَدْخَلَانِ : مَدْخَلٌ بِاللَّيْلِ , وَمَدْخَلٌ بِالنَّهَارِ , فَكُنْتُ إِذَا دَخَلْتُ بِاللَّيْلِ تَنَحْنَحَ لِي " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "I had two times when I would enter upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), one at night and one during the day. When I entered at night he would clear his throat (to tell me to come in)."
Hadith 1214
أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي شُرَحْبِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُدْرِكٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُجَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ لِي عَلِيٌّ : " كَانَتْ لِي مَنْزِلَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ تَكُنْ لِأَحَدٍ مِنَ الْخَلَائِقِ , فَكُنْتُ آتِيهِ كُلَّ سَحَرٍ , فَأَقُولُ : السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ , فَإِنْ تَنَحْنَحَ انْصَرَفْتُ إِلَى أَهْلِي , وَإِلَّا دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ " .
´'Abdullah bin Nujayy narrated that his father said:` "Ali said to me: 'I was so close to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), closer than anyone else. I used to come to him at the end of every night, before dawn, and say: "As-salamu 'alayka ya Nabiyy Allah (Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah)." If he cleared his throat I would go back to my family, otherwise I would enter upon him.'"
Hadith 1612
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، أَنَّ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَرَقَهُ وَفَاطِمَةَ , فَقَالَ : " أَلَا تُصَلُّونَ " , قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّمَا أَنْفُسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَهَا بَعَثَهَا , فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قُلْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ مُدْبِرٌ يَضْرِبُ فَخِذَهُ , وَيَقُولُ : وَكَانَ الإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلا سورة الكهف آية 54 .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) came to him and Fatimah at night and said: "Won't you pray?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), our souls are in the hand of Allah and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went away when I said that to him. Then as he was leaving I heard him striking his thigh and saying: But, man is ever more quarrelsome than anything.
Hadith 1613
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي حَكِيمُ بْنُ حَكِيمِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، قال : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَى فَاطِمَةَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَيْقَظَنَا لِلصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ فَصَلَّى هَوِيًّا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ لَنَا حِسًّا ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْنَا فَأَيْقَظَنَا , فَقَالَ : " قُومَا فَصَلِّيَا " , قَالَ : فَجَلَسْتُ وَأَنَا أَعْرُكُ عَيْنِي وَأَقُولُ : إِنَّا وَاللَّهِ مَا نُصَلِّي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا إِنَّمَا أَنْفُسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَنَا بَعَثَنَا , قَالَ : فَوَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَيَضْرِبُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ : " مَا نُصَلِّي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا وَكَانَ الإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلا سورة الكهف آية 54 " .
´It was narrated from Ali bin Husain, from his father, that:` Hs grandfather Ali bin Abi Talib said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came in to Fatimah and I, one night and woke us up to pray, then he went back to his house and prayed for part of the night, and he did not hear any movement from us. He came back to us and woke us up, and said: 'Get up and pray.' I sat up, rubbing my eyes, and said: 'By Allah, we will only pray that which has decreed for us; our souls are in the hand of Allah (SWT) and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned away, striking his hand on his thigh, saying: 'We will only pray that which Allah (SWT) has decreed for us! But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything.'"
Hadith 1676
أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قال : أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا أَهْلَ الْقُرْآنِ أَوْتِرُوا ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ " .
´It was narrated that Ali, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "O people of the Qur'an, pray witr, for Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, is Witr (One) and loves Al-Witr (the odd numbered).'"
Hadith 1677
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قال : " الْوِتْرُ لَيْسَ بِحَتْمٍ كَهَيْئَةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ سُنَّةٌ سَنَّهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´It was narrated that Ali, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with him, said:` "Witr is not essential like the obligatory prayers, but it is the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)."
Hadith 1748
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ , وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْفَزَارِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي آخِرِ وِتْرِهِ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ , وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ , وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ " .
´It was narrated from Ali bin Abi Talib that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say at the end of witr: Allahumma inni audhu bi ridaka min sakhatika wa bi mu'afatika min uqubatika, wa audhu bika minka la uhsi thana'an 'alayka, anta kama athwart ala nafsik ( O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath and in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. And I seek refuge in You from You; I cannot praise You enough; You are as You have praised Yourself.)."
Hadith 1924
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، قال : كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَلِيٍّ فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ جَنَازَةٌ فَقَامُوا لَهَا ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا : أَمْرُ أَبِي مُوسَى , فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِجَنَازَةِ يَهُودِيَّةٍ وَلَمْ يَعُدْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Ma'mar said:` "We were with 'Ali and a funeral passed by him, and they stood up for it. 'Ali said: "What is this?' They said: 'The command of Abu Musa.' He said: 'Rather the Messenger of Allah stood up for a Jewish funeral but he did not do it again."'
Hadith 2001
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ وَاقِدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، أَنَّهُ ذُكِرَ الْقِيَامُ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ , فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ : " قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that:` mention was made of standing at the funeral until the body is placed in the grave. 'Ali bin Abi Talib said: "The Messenger of Allah stood, then he sat down."
Hadith 2002
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ فَقُمْنَا وَرَأَيْنَاهُ قَعَدَ فَقَعَدْنَا " .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that:` mention was made of standing at the funeral until the body is placed in the grave. 'Ali bin Abi Talib said: "The Messenger of Allah stood, then he sat down."
Hadith 2008
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ عَمَّكَ الشَّيْخَ الضَّالَّ مَاتَ ، فَمَنْ يُوَارِيهِ ؟ قَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَوَارِ أَبَاكَ وَلَا تُحْدِثَنَّ حَدَثًا حَتَّى تَأْتِيَنِي " ، فَوَارَيْتُهُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَأَمَرَنِي فَاغْتَسَلْتُ وَدَعَا لِي وَذَكَرَ دُعَاءً لَمْ أَحْفَظْهُ .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "I said to the Prophet: 'Your paternal uncle, the old misguided man has died. Who will bury him?' He said: 'Go and bury your father, then do not do anything until you come to me.' So I buried him then I came, and he told me to perform Ghusl and he prayed for me, and he mentioned a supplication that I do not remember."'
Hadith 2033
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيَّاجِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَلَا أَبْعَثُكَ عَلَى مَا بَعَثَنِي عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " لَا تَدَعَنَّ قَبْرًا مُشْرِفًا إِلَّا سَوَّيْتَهُ ، وَلَا صُورَةً فِي بَيْتٍ إِلَّا طَمَسْتَهَا " .
´'Ali said:` "Shall I not send you on the same mission as the Messenger of Allah sent me? Do not leave any raised grave without leveling it, or any image in a house without erasing it."
Hadith 2038
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا يَسْتَغْفِرُ لِأَبَوَيْهِ وَهُمَا مُشْرِكَانِ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَتَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُمَا وَهُمَا مُشْرِكَانِ ، فَقَالَ : أَوَ لَمْ يَسْتَغْفِرْ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَنَزَلَتْ وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لأَبِيهِ إِلا عَنْ مَوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاهُ سورة التوبة آية 114 .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "I heard a man praying for forgiveness for his parents who were idolaters, and I said: 'Are you praying for forgiveness for them even though they are idolators?" He said: 'Didn't Ibrahim pray for forgiveness for his father?' I went to the Prophet and told him about that, then the following revealed: And Ibrahim's (Abraham) invoking (of Allah) for his father's forgiveness was only because of a promise he (Ibrahim) had made to him (his father)." (Daif)
Hadith 2213
أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقُولُ : الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ وَحِينَ يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ ، أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that the Messenger of Allah said:` "Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, says: 'Fasting is for me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast and when he meets his Lord.' By the One in whose hand is my soul, the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk." '
Hadith 2479
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ عَفَوْتُ عَنِ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ ، فَأَدُّوا زَكَاةَ أَمْوَالِكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَتَيْنِ خَمْسَةً " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali, may Allah e pleased with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'I have exempted you from (having to pay Zakah on) horses and slaves. Pay the Zakah on your wealth, for every two hundred (Dirhams), five."'
Hadith 2480
أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ عَفَوْتُ عَنِ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ مِائَتَيْنِ زَكَاةٌ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'I have exempted you from (having to pay Zakah on) houses and slaves, and there is no Zakah on less than two hundred (Dirhams)."
Hadith 2610
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ الْهَاشِمِيِّ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : لِعَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَالْفَضْلِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ : ائْتِيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُولَا لَهُ اسْتَعْمِلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الصَّدَقَاتِ ، فَأَتَى عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَنَحْنُ عَلَى تِلْكَ الْحَالِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمَا : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَسْتَعْمِلُ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدًا عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الْمُطَّلِبِ : فَانْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَالْفَضْلُ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَنَا : " إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّدَقَةَ إِنَّمَا هِيَ أَوْسَاخُ النَّاسِ ، وَإِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِمُحَمَّدٍ وَلَا لِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´Abu Rabiah binAl-Harith said to 'Abdul-Muttalib bin Rabi'ah bin Al-Harith and Al-Fadl bin 'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib:` "Go to the Messenger of Allah and say to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, appoint us to collect the Sadaqat!' 'Ali bin Abi Talib came along when we were like that, and he said to them: "The Messenger of Allah will not appoint any of you to collect the Sadaqah."' 'Abdul-Muttalib said: "So I went with Al-Fadl until we came to the Messenger of Allah and he said to us: "This Zakah is the dirt of the people, and it is not permissible for Muhammad or for the family of Muhammad."'
Hadith 2723
أَخْبَرَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ يُونُسَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عُثْمَانَ , فَسَمِعَ عَلِيًّا يُلَبِّي بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ ، فَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ تُنْهَى عَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : " بَلَى ، وَلَكِنِّي ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُلَبِّي بِهِمَا جَمِيعًا ، فَلَمْ أَدَعْ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِقَوْلِكَ " .
´It was narrated that Marwan bin Al-Hakam said:` "I was sitting with 'Uthan and he heard 'Ali reciting the Talbiyah for "Umrah and Hajj (together). He said 'Were you not forbidden to do this?' He said: 'Yes, but I heard the Messenger of "Allah reciting the Talbiyah for them together, and I will not igore what the Messenger of Allah said in favor of what you say.''
Hadith 2724
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ حُسَيْنٍ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ مَرْوَانَ ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُتْعَةِ وَأَنْ يَجْمَعَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ " , فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : " لَبَّيْكَ بِحَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ مَعًا " فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ : " أَتَفْعَلُهَا وَأَنَا أَنْهَى عَنْهَا ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : " لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأَدَعَ سُنَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Hakam said:` "I heard 'Ali binHusain narrating from Marwan, that 'Uthman forbade Mut'ah and joining Hajj and "Umrah. 'Ali said; 'Labbaika bi Hajjatin wa 'Umratin ma'an Here I am, (O Allah) for Hajj and "Umrah together. 'Uthman said: 'Are you doing this when I have forbidden it?' 'Ali said; 'I will not give up the Summah of the Messenger of Allah for any of the people.'''
Hadith 2726
أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ حِينَ أَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ عَلِيٌّ : فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَيْفَ صَنَعْتَ ؟ " قُلْتُ : أَهْلَلْتُ بِإِهْلَالِكَ , قَالَ : فَإِنِّي سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ وَقَرَنْتُ ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ : " لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ ، لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا فَعَلْتُمْ ، وَلَكِنِّي سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ وَقَرَنْتُ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Bara said:` "I was with 'Ali bin Abi Talib when the Messenger of All appointed him as governor of Yemen. When he came to the Messenger of Allah, Ali said: 'I came to the Messenger of and the Messenger of Allah said: "What did you do?" I said; "I entered Ihram for that for which you entered Ihram." He said: "I have brought the Hadi and am performing Qiran" And he said to his companions: "If I had known what I know now, I would have done what you have done, but I brought the Hadi and I am performing Qiran
Hadith 2734
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ , يَقُولُ : حَجَّ عَلِيٌّ , وَعُثْمَانُ فَلَمَّا كُنَّا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ " نَهَى عُثْمَانُ عَنِ التَّمَتُّعِ " , فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ قَدِ ارْتَحَلَ فَارْتَحِلُوا فَلَبَّى عَلِيٌّ وَأَصْحَابُهُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ ، فَلَمْ يَنْهَهُمْ عُثْمَانُ " , فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : " أَلَمْ أُخْبَرْ أَنَّكَ تَنْهَى عَنِ التَّمَتُّعِ ؟ " قَالَ : " بَلَى " قَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ : " أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَمَتَّعَ ؟ " قَالَ : " بَلَى " .
´Sa'ced bin Al-Musayyab said:` "Ali and 'Uthman performed Hajj, and when we were partway there, 'Uthman forbade Tamattu, 'Ali said 'When you see him setting out, set out with him (saying the Talbiyah for 'Umrah)So 'Ali and his companions recited the Talbiyah for 'Umrah, and 'Uthman did not forbid them. 'Ali said: 'Have I not been told that you did.' Ali said to him: 'Did you not hear that the Messenger of Allah did Tamattu? He said: 'Of course
Hadith 3184
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حُصَيْنَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَاوَانَ ، عَنْ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا حُجَّاجًا فَقَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ وَنَحْنُ نُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ ، فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ فِي مَنَازِلِنَا نَضَعُ رِحَالَنَا ، إِذْ أَتَانَا آتٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اجْتَمَعُوا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَفَزِعُوا ، فَانْطَلَقْنَا فَإِذَا النَّاسُ مُجْتَمِعُونَ عَلَى نَفَرٍ فِي وَسَطِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَفِيهِمْ عَلِيٌّ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، وَطَلْحَةُ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، فَإِنَّا لَكَذَلِكَ إِذْ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَلَيْهِ مُلَاءَةٌ صَفْرَاءُ ، قَدْ قَنَّعَ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ ، فَقَالَ : أَهَهُنَا طَلْحَةُ ، أَهَهُنَا الزُّبَيْرُ ، أَهَهُنَا سَعْدٌ ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يَبْتَاعُ مِرْبَدَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " , فَابْتَعْتُهُ بِعِشْرِينَ أَلْفًا أَوْ بِخَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَلْفًا ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : اجْعَلْهُ فِي مَسْجِدِنَا ، وَأَجْرُهُ لَكَ ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُمَّ ، نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنِ ابْتَاعَ بِئْرَ رُومَةَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " , فَابْتَعْتُهَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : قَدِ ابْتَعْتُهَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا ، قَالَ : اجْعَلْهَا سِقَايَةً لَلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَجْرُهَا لَكَ ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَظَرَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ يُجَهِّزُ هَؤُلَاءِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " يَعْنِي جَيْشَ الْعُسْرَةِ فَجَهَّزْتُهُمْ حَتَّى لَمْ يَفْقِدُوا عِقَالًا ، وَلَا خِطَامًا ، فَقَالُوا : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Ahnaf bin Qais said:` "We set out as pilgrims and came to Al-Madinah intending to perform Hajj. While we were in our camping place unloading our mounts, someone came to us and said: 'The people have gathered in the Masjid and there is panis.' So we set out and found the people gathered around a group in the middle of the Masjid, among whom were 'Ali, Zubayr, Talhah and Sa'd bin Abi Waqas. While we were like that, 'Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, came, wearing a yellow cloak with which he had covered his head. He said: 'Is Talhah here? Is Az-Zubair here? Is Sa'd here?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'I adjure you be the One beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, din't the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whoever buys the Mirbad [1] of Banu so-and so, Allah will forgive him, and I bought it for twenty or twenty-five thousand, then I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and told him, and he said: Add it to our Masjid and the reward for it will be yours?' They said: 'By Allah, yes.' He said: 'I adjure you by the One beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, didn't the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whoever buys the well of Rumah, Allah will forgive him, so I bought it for such and such and amount, then I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and told him, and he said: Give it to provide water for the Muslims, and the reward for it will be yours?' They said: 'By Allah, yes.' He said: 'I adjure you by the One beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, didn't the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whoever equips these (men)- meaning the army of Al-'Usrah (Tabuk) - Allah will forgive him, so I equipped them until they were not lacking even a rope or a bridle?' They said: 'By Allah, yes.' He said: 'O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness.'" [1] Mirbad: A place for drying dates.
Hadith 3306
أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا ، قَالَ : " وَعِنْدَكَ أَحَدٌ ؟ " قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِي ، إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:` "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why do you choose wives from among Quraish and not from among us?' He said: 'Do you have anyone in mind?' I said: 'Yes, the daughter of Hamzah.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'She is not permissible for me (to marry); she is the daughter of my brother through breast-feeding.'"
Hadith 3367
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابني محمد ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا : أَنَّ عَلِيًّا بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَا يَرَى بِالْمُتْعَةِ بَأْسًا ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ تَائِهٌ إِنَّهُ " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا ، وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ ، يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ " .
´It was narrated from Al-Hasan and 'Abdullah, the sons of Muhammad, from their father, that 'Ali heard that a man did not see anything wrong with Mut'ah (temporary marriage). He said:` "You are confused, the Messenger of Allah forbade it, and the meat of domestic donkeys on the day of Khaibar."
Hadith 3368
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْحَسَنِ ابني محمد بن علي ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ، وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْإِنْسِيَّةِ " .
It was narrated from 'Abdullah and Al-Hasan, the sons of Muhammad bin 'Ali, from their father, from 'Ali bin Abi Talib, that the Messenger of Allah on the Day of Khaibar forbade temporary marriage to women, and (he also forbade) the meat of tame donkeys.
Hadith 3369
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , قَالُوا : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ , وَالْحَسَنَ ابْنَيْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَخْبَرَاهُ , أَنَّ أَبَاهُمَا مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ أَخْبَرَهُمَا , أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ " ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى : يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ، وَقَالَ : هَكَذَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ .
´Malik bin Anas narrated that Ibn Shihab told him that 'Abdullah and Al-Hasan, the sons of Muhammad bin 'Ali, told him, that their father Muhammad bin 'Ali told them, that 'Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah on the Day of Khaibar forbade temporary marriage to women." (One of the narrators) Ibn Al-Muthanna said: "The Day of Hunain." He said: "This is what 'Abdul-Wahhab narrated to us from his book."
Hadith 3377
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ، قَالَ : " تَزَوَّجْتُ فَاطِمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ابْنِ بِي ، قَالَ : " أَعْطِهَا شَيْئًا ، قُلْتُ : مَا عِنْدِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ ، قَالَ : فَأَيْنَ دِرْعُكَ الْحُطَمِيَّةُ ؟ قُلْتُ : هِيَ عِنْدِي ، قَالَ : فَأَعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that 'Ali said:` "I got married to Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, let me consummate the marriage.' He said: 'Give her something.' I said: 'I do not have anything.' He said: 'Where is your Hutami armor?' I said: 'It is with me.' He said: 'Give it to her.'"
Hadith 3386
أَخْبَرَنَا نَصِيرُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " جَهَّزَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاطِمَةَ فِي خَمِيلٍ ، وَقِرْبَةٍ ، وَوِسَادَةٍ حَشْوُهَا إِذْخِرٌ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah fitted out Fatimah with a velvet dress, a water-skin and a pillow stuffed with Idhkhar."
Hadith 3610
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ زُرَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : أُهْدِيَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَغْلَةٌ ، فَرَكِبَهَا فَقَالَ : " عَلِيٌّ لَوْ حَمَلْنَا الْحَمِيرَ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ لَكَانَتْ لَنَا مِثْلُ هَذِهِ " ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ " .
´It was narrated that Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said:` "A mule was given as a gift to the Messenger of Allah and he rode it." 'Ali said: "If we mate a donkey with a horse, we will have one like this." The Messenger of Allah said: "That is only done by those who do not know."
Hadith 3636
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ جَاوَانَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ ، وَذَاكَ أَنِّي قُلْتُ لَهُ : أَرَأَيْتَ اعْتِزَالَ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ مَا كَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْأَحْنَفَ ، يَقُولُ : وَأَنَا حَاجٌّ فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ فِي مَنَازِلِنَا نَضَعُ رِحَالَنَا إِذْ أَتَى آتٍ ، فَقَالَ : قَدِ اجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَاطَّلَعْتُ ، فَإِذَا يَعْنِي النَّاسَ مُجْتَمِعُونَ ، وَإِذَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِهِمْ نَفَرٌ قُعُودٌ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، وَطَلْحَةُ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَلَمَّا قُمْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ قِيلَ : هَذَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ قَدْ أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ : فَجَاءَ وَعَلَيْهِ مُلَيَّةٌ صَفْرَاءُ ، فَقُلْتُ لِصَاحِبِي : كَمَا أَنْتَ حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ : أَهَهُنَا عَلِيٌّ ، أَهَهُنَا الزُّبَيْرُ ، أَهَهُنَا طَلْحَةُ ، أَهَهُنَا سَعْدٌ , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يَبْتَاعُ مِرْبَدَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ؟ فَابْتَعْتُهُ ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنِّي ابْتَعْتُ مِرْبَدَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ ، قَالَ : " فَاجْعَلْهُ فِي مَسْجِدِنَا وَأَجْرُهُ لَكَ " ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يَبْتَاعُ بِئْرَ رُومَةَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ؟ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : قَدِ ابْتَعْتُ بِئْرَ رُومَةَ ، قَالَ : " فَاجْعَلْهَا سِقَايَةً لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَجْرُهَا لَكَ " ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يُجَهِّزُ جَيْشَ الْعُسْرَةِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ؟ فَجَهَّزْتُهُمْ حَتَّى مَا يَفْقِدُونَ عِقَالًا ، وَلَا خِطَامًا ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ " .
´Al-Ahnaf said:` "I came to Al-Madinah, and I was performing Hajj, and while we were in our camping place unloading our mounts, someone came to us and said: 'The people have gathered in the Masjid.' I looked and found the people gathered, and in the midst of them was a group; there I saw 'Ali bin Abi Talib, Az-Zubair, Talhah and Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah have mercy on them. When I got there, it was said that 'Uthman bin 'Affan had come. He came, wearing a yellowish cloak. I said to my companion: Stay where you are until I find out what is happening. 'Uthman said: Is 'Ali here? Is Az-Zubair here? Is Talhah here? Is Sa'd here? They said: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever buys the Mirbad of Banu so and so, Allah will forgive him, and I bought it, then I came to the Messenger of Allah and told him, and he said: Add it to our Masjid and the reward for it will be yours? They said: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever buys the well of Rumah, Allah will forgive him, so I came to the Messenger of Allah and said: I have bought the well of Rumah. He said: Give it to provide water for the Muslims, and the reward for it will be yours? They said: Yes. He said: 'I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever equips the army of Al-'Usrah (i.e. Tabuk), Allah will forgive him, so I equipped them until they were not lacking even a rope or a bridle?' They said: Yes. He said: O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness."
Hadith 3637
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حُصَيْنَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ جَاوَانَ ، عَنْ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا حُجَّاجًا ، فَقَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ وَنَحْنُ نُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ ، فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ فِي مَنَازِلِنَا نَضَعُ رِحَالَنَا إِذْ أَتَانَا آتٍ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اجْتَمَعُوا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَفَزِعُوا ، فَانْطَلَقْنَا ، فَإِذَا النَّاسُ مُجْتَمِعُونَ عَلَى نَفَرٍ فِي وَسَطِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَإِذَا عَلِيٌّ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، وَطَلْحَةُ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، فَإِنَّا لَكَذَلِكَ إِذْ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ عَلَيْهِ مُلَاءَةٌ صَفْرَاءُ قَدْ قَنَّعَ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ : أَهَهُنَا عَلِيٌّ ، أَهَهُنَا طَلْحَةُ ، أَهَهُنَا الزُّبَيْرُ ، أَهَهُنَا سَعْدٌ ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يَبْتَاعُ مِرْبَدَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ؟ فَابْتَعْتُهُ بِعِشْرِينَ أَلْفًا أَوْ بِخَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَلْفًا ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " اجْعَلْهَا فِي مَسْجِدِنَا وَأَجْرُهُ لَكَ " ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يَبْتَاعُ بِئْرَ رُومَةَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ؟ فَابْتَعْتُهُ بِكَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ : قَدِ ابْتَعْتُهَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا ، قَالَ : " اجْعَلْهَا سِقَايَةً لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَجْرُهَا لَكَ " ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَظَرَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ جَهَّزَ هَؤُلَاءِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ؟ يَعْنِي : جَيْشَ الْعُسْرَةِ ، فَجَهَّزْتُهُمْ حَتَّى مَا يَفْقِدُونَ عِقَالًا ، وَلَا خِطَامًا ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Ahnaf bin Qais said:` "We set out for Hajj, and came to Al-Madinah intending to perform Hajj. While we were in our camping place unloading our mounts, someone came to us and said: 'The people have gathered in the Masjid and there is panic.' So we set out and found the people gathered around a group in the middle of the Masjid, among whom were 'Ali, Az-Zubair, Talhah and Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas. While we were like that, 'Uthman came, wearing a yellowish cloak with which he had covered his head. He said: Is 'Ali here? Is Talhah here? Is Az-Zubair here? Is Sa'd here? They said: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever buys the Mirbad of Banu so and so, Allah will forgive him, and I bought it for twenty or twenty-five thousand, then I came to the Messenger of Allah and told him, and he said: Add it to our Masjid and the reward for it will be yours? They said: By Allah, yes. He said: 'I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever buys the well of Rumah, Allah will forgive him, so I bought it for such and such an amount, then I came to the Messenger of Allah and told him, and he said: Give it to provide water for the Muslims, and the reward for it will be yours?' They said: By Allah, yes. He said: 'I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever equips these (men), Allah will forgive him, -meaning the army of Al-'Usrah (i.e. Tabuk)- so I equipped them until they were not lacking even a rope or a bridle?' They said: By Allah, yes. He said: O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness."
Hadith 4107
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ ، أَحْدَاثُ الْأَسْنَانِ ، سُفَهَاءُ الْأَحْلَامِ ، يَقُولُونَ : مِنْ خَيْرِ قَوْلِ الْبَرِيَّةِ ، لَا يُجَاوِزُ إِيمَانُهُمْ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ , يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ ، فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ ، فَإِنَّ قَتْلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ لِمَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'At the end of time there will appear young people with foolish minds. Their faith will not pass through their throats, and they will go out of Islam as an arrow goes through the target. If you meet them, then kill them, for killing them will bring reward to the one who killed them on the Day of Resurrection.'"
Hadith 4210
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ الْإِيَامِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بَعَثَ جَيْشًا ، وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَجُلًا ، فَأَوْقَدَ نَارًا ، فَقَالَ : ادْخُلُوهَا ، فَأَرَادَ نَاسٌ أَنْ يَدْخُلُوهَا ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُونَ : إِنَّمَا فَرَرْنَا مِنْهَا ، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لِلَّذِينَ أَرَادُوا أَنْ يَدْخُلُوهَا : " لَوْ دَخَلْتُمُوهَا لَمْ تَزَالُوا فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، وَقَالَ لِلْآخَرِينَ : " خَيْرًا " ، وَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " قَوْلًا حَسَنًا " ، وَقَالَ : " لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّمَا الطَّاعَةُ فِي الْمَعْرُوفِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu 'Adur-Rahman from Ali that:` the Messenger of Allah sent an army and appointed a man in charge of them. He lit a fire and said: "Enter it." Some people wanted to enter it, and other said: "We are trying to keep away from it." They mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah, and he said to those who had wanted to enter if: "If you had entered it you would have stayed there until the Day of Resurrection." And he spoke good words to the others. And he said: "There is no obedience if it involves disobedience toward Allah. Rather obedience is only (required) in that which is good."
Hadith 4286
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَليِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُجَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْمَلَائِكَةُ لَا تَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ ، وَلَا كَلْبٌ ، وَلَا جُنُبٌ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that the Prophet said:` "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture, a dog or a person who is Junub."
Hadith 4339
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَلِيٌّ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى عَنْ نِكَاحِ الْمُتْعَةِ ، وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ " .
´It was narrated from Al- Hasan bin Muhammad, and 'Abdullah bin Muhammad that their father said:` "Ali said to Ibn'Abbas, may Allah be please with them both: The Prophet forbade Mut'ah marriage, and the flesh of domesticated donkeys on the Day of Khaibar."'
Hadith 4340
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، وَمَالِكٌ ، وَأُسَامَةُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنَيْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ، وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْإِنْسِيَّةِ " .
´It was narrated from Al-Hasan bin Muhammad, and 'Abdullah bin Muhammad, from their father, that 'Ali bin Abi Talib may Allah be please with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah forbade Mut'ah and the flesh of domesticated donkeys on the Day of Khaibar."
Hadith 4377
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ ، وَأَنْ لَا نُضَحِّيَ بِمُقَابَلَةٍ ، وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ ، وَلَا بَتْرَاءَ ، وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah commanded us to examine the eyes and ears (of animals), and no0t to sacrifice and animals with its ears slit from the front, and animal with its ears slit form the back, a animal with its tail cut, nor an animals with a round hole in its ear."
Hadith 4378
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاق : وَكَانَ رَجُلَ صِدْقٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ ، وَأَنْ لَا نُضَحِّيَ بِعَوْرَاءَ ، وَلَا مُقَابَلَةٍ ، وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ ، وَلَا شَرْقَاءَ ، وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah commanded us to examine the eyes and ears (of animals) and not to Sacrifice and animal with a bad eye, nor an animal with its ears slit from the front, nor an animals with its ears slit form the back, nor an animal with a round hole in its ear.
Hadith 4379
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَاصِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُضَحِّيَ بِمُقَابَلَةٍ ، أَوْ مُدَابَرَةٍ ، أَوْ شَرْقَاءَ ، أَوْ خَرْقَاءَ ، أَوْ جَدْعَاءَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be please with him, said:` "The Messenger of Allah forbade sacrificing an animals with its ears slit form the front, and animals with its ears slit form the back, and animal with its ears slit lengthwise, an animals with a round hole in tits ear, or an animals with its nose cut off"
Hadith 4380
أَخْبَرَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يُضَحَّى بِمُقَابَلَةٍ ، وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ ، وَلَا شَرْقَاءَ ، وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ ، وَلَا عَوْرَاءَ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be please wityh him, that the messenger of Allah said:` "Do not sacrifice and animal with its ears slit from the front, and animal with its ears slit from the back, an animals with its ears slit lengthwise, and animal with a round hole in its ears, or an animal with one bad eye."
