Hadith 569
حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ إِذَا ثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَلَّى ، وَلَهُ ضُرَاطٌ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ وَزَادَ : فَهَنَّاهُ وَمَنَّاهُ وَذَكَّرَهُ مِنْ حَاجَاتِهِ ، مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ يَذْكُرُ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The devil takes to his heels breaking wind when the prayer begins. and the rest is the same but with this addition:" He (the devil) makes him think of pleasant things (or things productive of enjoyment) and of the things wished for, and reminds him of such needs which he had forgotten."
Hadith 763
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَخْرَمَةَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : نِمْتُ عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَهَا تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَأَخَذَنِي فَجَعَلَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، " فَصَلَّى فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً " ، ثُمَّ نَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ ، وَكَانَ إِذَا نَامَ نَفَخَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ بُكَيْرَ بْنَ الأَشَجِّ ، فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي كُرَيْبٌ بِذَلِكَ .
Ibn Abbas (RA) reported: I slept (one night) in the house of Maimuna, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) , and the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) was with her that night. He (after sleeping for half of the night got up and) then performed ablution and then stood up and observed prayer. I too stood on his left side. He took hold of me and made me stand on his right side. He (the Holy Prophet) observed thirteen rak'ahs on that night. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then slept and snored and it was a habit with him to snore while sleeping. The Mu'adhdbin then came to him (to inform him about the prayer). He then went out and observed prayer without performing ablution. ('Amr said: Bukair bin Ashajj had narrated it to me )
Hadith 1108
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُقَبِّلُ الصَّائِمُ ؟ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَلْ هَذِهِ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ " ، فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَا وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَتْقَاكُمْ لِلَّهِ ، وَأَخْشَاكُمْ لَهُ " .
Umar b Abu Salama reported that he asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) : Should one observing fast kiss (his wife)? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: Ask her (Umm Salamah). She informed him that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did that, where upon he said: Messenger of Allah, Allah pardoned thee all thy sins, the previous and the later ones. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ) said: By Allah, I am the most God conscious among you and I fear Him most among you.
Hadith 1109
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا يَسْأَلُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا أَيَصُومُ ؟ ، فَقَالَتْ " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ ، لَا مِنْ حُلُمٍ ، ثُمَّ لَا يُفْطِرُ وَلَا يَقْضِي " .
Abu Bakr (RA) reported that Marwan sent him to Umm Salamah to ask whether a person should observe fast who is in a state of junub and the dawn breaks upon him, whereupon she said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (was at times) junbi on account of intercourse and not due to sexual dream, and the dawn broke upon him, but he neither broke the fast nor recompensed.
Hadith 1109
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالَتَا : " إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ ، غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، ثُمَّ يَصُومُ " .
Abu Bakr (RA) bin 'Abdul Rahman bin al-Harith bin Hisham reported on the authority of 'A'isha and Umm Salamah, the wives of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) : The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at times got up in the morning in a state of junub on account of having a sexual intercourse (with his wives during night) but not due to sexual dreams in the month of Ramadan, and would observe fast.
Hadith 2194
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَكَى الْإِنْسَانُ الشَّيْءَ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَانَتْ بِهِ قَرْحَةٌ أَوْ جُرْح ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ هَكَذَا وَوَضَعَ سُفْيَانُ سَبَّابَتَهُ بِالْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا " بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا بِرِيقَةِ بَعْضِنَا لِيُشْفَى بِهِ سَقِيمُنَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا " ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ : يُشْفَى ، وقَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : لِيُشْفَى سَقِيمُنَا .
'A'isha reported that when any person fell ill with a disease or he had any ailment or he had any injury, the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) placed his forefinger upon the ground and then lifted it by reciting the name of Allah (and said): The dust of our ground with the saliva of any one of us would serve as a means whereby our illness would be cured with the sanction of Allah.
Hadith 2204
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، وَأَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عن رسول الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَال : " لِكُلِّ دَاءٍ دَوَاءٌ فَإِذَا أُصِيبَ دَوَاءُ الدَّاءِ بَرَأَ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.
Hadith 2261
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ ، وَعَبْدِ رَبِّهِ ، وَيَحْيَي ابْنَيْ سَعِيدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِي حَدِيثِهِمْ قَوْلَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ : كُنْتُ أَرَى الرُّؤْيَا أُعْرَى مِنْهَا غَيْرَ أَنِّي لَا أُزَمَّلُ ،
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (RA), but there is no mention of the words of Abu Salama (RA) : "I saw dreams (which perturbed me) but I did not cover myself with a mantle."
Hadith 2261
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، وَالرُّؤْيَا السَّوْءُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، فَمَنْ رَأَى رُؤْيَا فَكَرِهَ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا ، فَلْيَنْفُثْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لَا تَضُرُّهُ ، وَلَا يُخْبِرْ بِهَا أَحَدًا ، فَإِنْ رَأَى رُؤْيَا حَسَنَةً ، فَلْيُبْشِرْ وَلَا يُخْبِرْ إِلَّا مَنْ يُحِبُّ " .
Abu Qatadah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The good vision are from Allah and the evil dreams are from the satan. If one sees a dream which one does not like, one should spit on one's left side and seek the refuge of Allah from the satan; it will not do one any harm, and one should not disclose it to anyone and if one sees a good vision one should feel pleased but should not disclose it to anyone but whom one loves.
Hadith 2261
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَرَى الرُّؤْيَا تُمْرِضُنِي ، قَالَ : فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ ، فَقَالَ : وَأَنَا كُنْتُ لَأَرَى الرُّؤْيَا فَتُمْرِضُنِي ، حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ مَا يُحِبُّ فَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا إِلَّا مَنْ يُحِبُّ ، وَإِنْ رَأَى مَا يَكْرَهُ فَلْيَتْفُلْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا ، وَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشَرِّهَا ، وَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا أَحَدًا فَإِنَّهَا لَنْ تَضُرَّهُ " .
Abu Salama replied: I used to see (such horrible dreams) that I fell ill. I saw Abu Qatadah (RA) who also said: I used to see dreams which made me sick until I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Good dreams are from Allah, so if any one of you sees which he likes he should not disclose it to one but who he loves, but if he sees something which he does not like he should spit on his left side thrice and seek refuge with Allah from the mischief of the satan and its mischief (i. e. of the dream), and he should not relate it to anyone, then it would not harm him.
