Hadith 9
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَع ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ : الِاخْتِتَانُ وَالِاسْتِحْدَادُ وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ وَتَقْلِيمُ الْأَظْفَارِ وَنَتْفُ الْإِبْطِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "The Fitrah are five: Circumcision, removing the pubes, trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, and plucking the armpit hairs."
Hadith 12
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْفِطْرَةُ قَصُّ الْأَظْفَارِ وَأَخْذُ الشَّارِبِ وَحَلْقُ الْعَانَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "The deeds connected to the Fitrah are: Clipping the nails, removing the mustache and shaving the pubes."
Hadith 39
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَنَّةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَسْتَطِيبَ أَحَدُكُمْ بِعَظْمٍ أَوْ رَوْثٍ " .
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade cleaning oneself with bones or dung.
Hadith 79
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، وَيُونُسَ ، وَعَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ ، يَقُولُ : " سَكَبْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تَوَضَّأَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ ، فَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : لَمْ يَذْكُرْ مَالِكٌ ، عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ .
´It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Al-Mughirah that he heard his father say:` "I poured water for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he performed Wudu' during the battle of Tabuk, and he wiped over his Khuff."
Hadith 116
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ حُمْرَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ دَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْمِرْفَقِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ نَحْوَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا . ثُمَّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ نَحْوَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
´It was narrated that Humran the freed slave of 'Uthman said:` "Uthman called for water for Wudu'. He washed his hands three times, then he rinsed his mouth and nose, then he washed his face three times, then washed his right hand up to the elbow three times. Then he washed his left hand likewise. Then he washed his left hand likewise. Then he wiped his head, then he washed his right foot up to the ankle three times, and he washed his left foot likewise, and he washed his left foot likewise. Then he said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performing Wudu' as I have just done.' Then he said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever performs Wudu' as I have just done, then prayes two Rak'ahs without letting his thoughts wander, his previous sins will be forgiven.'"
Hadith 121
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " أَنَّهُ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ " .
It was narrated from Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wiped over the Khuffs.
Hadith 205
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، وَعَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ خَتَنَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَحْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ اسْتُحِيضَتْ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ ، اسْتَفْتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ ، وَلَكِنْ هَذَا عِرْقٌ ، فَاغْتَسِلِي وَصَلِّي " .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Umm Habibah, an in-law of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who was married to 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf, suffered Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding) for seven years. She consulted the Prophet (ﷺ) about that and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` 'That is not menstruation, rather that is a vein, so perform Ghusl and pray.'"
Hadith 221
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا السَّائِبِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَغْتَسِلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ " .
´Abu Hurairah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'None of you should perform Ghusl in standing water when he is Junub.'"
Hadith 277
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَذَكَرَ آخَرُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُخْرِجُ إِلَيَّ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُوَ مُجَاوِرٌ ، فَأَغْسِلُهُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) would put his head out for me while he was performing I'tikaf [1] and I would wash it, when I was menstruating." [1] Mujawir ("next door") here means while performing I'tikaf.
Hadith 288
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، وَاللَّيْثِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ بُدَيَّةَ وَكَانَ اللَّيْثُ ، يَقُولُ : نَدَبَةَ مَوْلَاةُ مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُبَاشِرُ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ يَبْلُغُ أَنْصَافَ الْفَخِذَيْنِ وَالرُّكُبَتَيْنِ " فِي حَدِيثِ اللَّيْثِ : مُحْتَجِزَةً بِهِ .
´It was narrated that Maimunah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would fondle one of his wives while she was menstruating, if she wore an Izar (waist wrap) that reached halfway down to the middle of her thighs or to her knees." In the narration of Al-Laith: "Being covered with it."
Hadith 332
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا السَّائِبِ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَغْتَسِلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ " .
´Abu Hurairah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'None of you should perform Ghusl in standing water while he is Junub.'"
Hadith 376
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، وَاللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ بُدَيَّةَ ، وَكَانَ اللَّيْثُ ، يَقُولُ : نَدَبَةَ مَوْلَاةِ مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُبَاشِرُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ يَبْلُغُ أَنْصَافَ الْفَخِذَيْنِ وَالرُّكْبَتَيْنِ " . فِي حَدِيثِ اللَّيْثِ تَحْتَجِزُ بِهِ .

Hadith 396
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا السَّائِبِ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَغْتَسِلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ " .
´Abu Hurairah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'None of you should perform ghusl in standing water while he is Junub.'"
Hadith 439
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قال : قال عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَرْسَلْتُ الْمِقْدَادَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْمَذْيِ ، فَقَالَ : " تَوَضَّأْ وَانْضَحْ فَرْجَكَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : مَخْرَمَةُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِيهِ شَيْئًا .
´'Ali said:` "I sent Al-Miqdad to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to ask him about Madhi, and he said: 'Perform Wudu' and sprinkle water over your private part.'" Abu 'Abdur-Rahman said: Makhramah (one of the narrators) did not hear anything from his father.
Hadith 450
أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قال أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، وَابْنُ حَزْمٍ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي خَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً فَرَجَعْتُ بِذَلِكَ حَتَّى أَمُرَّ بِمُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَقَالَ : مَا فَرَضَ رَبُّكَ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ ؟ قُلْتُ : فَرَضَ عَلَيْهِمْ خَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً ، قَالَ لِي مُوسَى : فَرَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ ، فَرَاجَعْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَوَضَعَ شَطْرَهَا ، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : رَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ ، فَرَاجَعْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَقَالَ : هِيَ خَمْسٌ وَهِيَ خَمْسُونَ لَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ ، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى ، فَقَالَ : رَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ ، فَقُلْتُ : قَدِ اسْتَحْيَيْتُ مِنْ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
´Anas bin Malik and Ibn Hazm said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, enjoined fifty prayers upon my Ummah, and I came back with that until I passed by Musa, peace be upon him, who said: 'What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah?' I said: 'He has enjoined fifty prayers on them.' Musa said to me: 'Go back to your Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, for your Ummah will not be able to do that.' So I went back to my Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, and He reduced a portion of it. Then I came back to Musa and told him, and he said: 'Go back to you Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to do that.' So I went back to my Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, and He said: 'They are five (prayers) but they are fifty (in reward), and the Word that comes from Me cannot be changed.' [1] I came back to Musa and he said: 'Go back to your Lord.' I said: 'I feel too shy before my Lord, the Mighty and Sublime.'" [1]See Surah Qaf 50:29.
Hadith 453
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ رَبِّهِ بْنَ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ الْبُنَانِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ " أَنَّ الصَّلَوَاتِ فُرِضَتْ بِمَكَّةَ ، وَأَنَّ مَلَكَيْنِ أَتَيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَهَبَا بِهِ إِلَى زَمْزَمَ فَشَقَّا بَطْنَهُ وَأَخْرَجَا حَشْوَهُ فِي طَسْتٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَغَسَلَاهُ بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ ثُمَّ كَبَسَا جَوْفَهُ حِكْمَةً وَعِلْمًا " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the prayers were enjoined in Makkah, and that two angels came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and took him to Zamzam, where they split open his stomach and took out his innards in a basin of gold, and washed them with Zamzam water, then they filled his heart with wisdom and knowledge.
Hadith 491
أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ زُغْبَةُ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُسَبِّحُ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ قِبَلَ أَيِّ وَجْهٍ تَتَوَجَّهُ وَيُوتِرُ عَلَيْهَا ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Salim that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray voluntary prayers (Usabbih) while riding his mount, facing whatever direction it was facing, and he would pray Witr likewise, but he would not offer the prescribed prayers on it."
Hadith 595
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ " إِذَا عَجِلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الظُّهْرَ إِلَى وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ فَيَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَجْمَعَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ الْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wanted to travel quickly, he would delay Zuhr until the time of 'Asr and combine them, and he would delay Maghrib until he combined it with 'Isha' when the twilight had disappeared."
Hadith 620
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى ، قَالَ : وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ لِذِكْرِي سورة طه آية 14 " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers it, for Allah says: and perform the Salah for My remembrance." [1] [1] Ta-Ha 20:14.
Hadith 667
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ الْمَعَافِرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " يَعْجَبُ رَبُّكَ مِنْ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ فِي رَأْسِ شَظِيَّةِ الْجَبَلِ يُؤَذِّنُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَيُصَلِّي ، فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : انْظُرُوا إِلَى عَبْدِي هَذَا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ يَخَافُ مِنِّي قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لِعَبْدِي وَأَدْخَلْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Uqbah bin 'Amir said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Your Lord is pleased with a shepherd high in the mountains who calls the Adhan for the prayer and prays. Allah says: 'Look at this slave of Mine; he calls the Adhan and Iqamah for the prayer and fears Me. I have forgiven My slave and admitted him to Paradise.'"
Hadith 675
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرَ بْنَ الْأَشَجِّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الزُّرَقِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ النَّضْرَ بْنَ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَامَ بِلَالٌ يُنَادِي ، فَلَمَّا سَكَتَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَالَ مِثْلَ هَذَا يَقِينًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
´An-Nasr bin Sufyan narrated that he heard Abu Hurairah say:` "We were with the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) and Bilal stood up and gave the call. When he fell silent the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever says the same as this (what the Mu'adhdhin) with certainty, he will enter Paradise.
Hadith 686
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، وَيُونُسُ ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، يُسَلِّمُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَيُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَيَسْجُدُ سَجْدَةً قَدْرَ مَا يَقْرَأُ أَحَدُكُمْ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً ، ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ ، فَإِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُ الْفَجْرُ ، رَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالْإِقَامَةِ ، فَيَخْرُجُ مَعَهُ " . وَبَعْضُهُمْ يَزِيدُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الْحَدِيثِ .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "Between the time when he finished 'Isha' prayer and Fajr, the Prophet (S.A.W) used to pray eleven Rak'ahs, saying the Taslim after each two Rak'ahs, then praying Witr as one Rak'ah. He would prostrate for as long as it takes one of you to recite fifty verses, then he would raise his head. When the Mu'adhdhin finished the call to Fajr prayer and he could see the dawn, he would pray two brief Rak'ahs, then he would go out with him." Some of these narrators (Ibn Abi Dhi'b, Yunus and 'Amr bin Al-Harith) added some phrases not mentioned by the others in the Hadith.
Hadith 714
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " طَافَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ " .
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed Tawaf during the Farewell Pilgrimage atop a camel, touching the Rukn [1] with a stick that was bent at the top. [1] The corner of the Ka'bah in which the Black Stone is situated.
Hadith 732
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، قال ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ كَعْبٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، حَدِيثَهُ حِينَ تَخَلَّفَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ ، قَالَ : وَصَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَادِمًا ، وَكَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ بَدَأَ بِالْمَسْجِدِ فَرَكَعَ فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ لِلنَّاسِ ، فَلَمَّا فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ جَاءَهُ الْمُخَلَّفُونَ فَطَفِقُوا يَعْتَذِرُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَيَحْلِفُونَ لَهُ وَكَانُوا بِضْعًا وَثَمَانِينَ رَجُلًا ، فَقَبِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَانِيَتَهُمْ وَبَايَعَهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمْ وَوَكَلَ سَرَائِرَهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، حَتَّى جِئْتُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمْتُ تَبَسَّمَ تَبَسُّمَ الْمُغْضَبِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : تَعَالَ ، فَجِئْتُ حَتَّى جَلَسْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ لِي : مَا خَلَّفَكَ ؟ أَلَمْ تَكُنِ ابْتَعْتَ ظَهْرَكَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ لَوْ جَلَسْتُ عِنْدَ غَيْرِكَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا لَرَأَيْتُ أَنِّي سَأَخْرُجُ مِنْ سَخَطِهِ وَلَقَدْ أُعْطِيتُ جَدَلًا وَلَكِنْ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ لَئِنْ حَدَّثْتُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيثَ كَذِبٍ لِتَرْضَى بِهِ عَنِّي لَيُوشَكُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُسْخِطُكَ عَلَيَّ وَلَئِنْ حَدَّثْتُكَ حَدِيثَ صِدْقٍ تَجِدُ عَلَيَّ فِيهِ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو فِيهِ عَفْوَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا كُنْتُ قَطُّ أَقْوَى وَلَا أَيْسَرَ مِنِّي حِينَ تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ صَدَقَ ، فَقُمْ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ اللَّهُ فِيكَ " ، فَقُمْتُ فَمَضَيْتُ . مُخْتَصَرٌ .
´'Abdullah bin Ka'b said:` "I heard Ka'b bin Malik telling the story of when he stayed behind from going out on the campaign of Tabuk with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came back in the morning, and when he came back from a journey he would go to the Masjid first and pray two Rak'ahs there, then he would sit to (meet with) the people. When he did that, those who had stayed behind came to him and started giving their excuses, swearing by Allah. There were eighty-odd men, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) accepted what they declared and accepted their oaths of allegiance; he prayed for forgiveness for them and left whatever was in their hearts to Allah. Then when I came and greeted him, he smiled as one who is angry, then he said: 'Come here.' So I came and sat in front of him, [1] and he said: 'What kept you behind? Did you not buy a mount?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if I were to sit before anyone other than you of those who hold high positions in this world, I would find a way to avoid his anger. I am an eloquent man but, by Allah, I know that if I were to tell you a lie today to make you pleased with me, Allah would soon make you angry with me, but if I tell you the truth, it will make you angry with me, but I will still have the hope that Allah may forgive me. I have never been in a better position, physically or financially, than the time when I stayed behind and did not join you.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'This man has spoken the truth. Go away until Allah decides concerning you.' So I got up and went away." This is an abridged version of narration. [1] It is this which the author cited the narration for. While the absence of the mention of a thing - in this case prayer - is not a proof that it does not exist.
Hadith 745
أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ قِبَلَ أَيِّ وَجْهٍ تَوَجَّهُ بِهِ وَيُوتِرُ عَلَيْهَا ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Abdullah said:` "The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray atop his mount while traveling, facing whatever direction it was facing, and he would pray witr atop it, but he did not pray the prescribed prayers atop it ".
Hadith 810
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ : أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَقُمْنَا فَعُدِّلَتِ الصُّفُوفُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا قَامَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُكَبِّرَ فَانْصَرَفَ فَقَالَ : " لَنَا مَكَانَكُمْ " فَلَمْ نَزَلْ قِيَامًا نَنْتَظِرُهُ حَتَّى خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا قَدِ اغْتَسَلَ يَنْطُفُ رَأْسُهُ مَاءً فَكَبَّرَ وَصَلَّى .
´Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur Rahman narrated that he heard Abu Hurairah say:` "The Iqamah for prayer was said, and we stood up and the rows were straightened, before the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out to us. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to us and stood in the place where he prayed, before he said the Takbir he paused and said to us: 'Stay where you are.' So we stayed there, waiting for him, until he came out to us; he had performed Ghusl and his head was dripping with water. Then he said the Takbir and prayed."
Hadith 820
أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَثْرُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ وَصَلَ صَفًّا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَ صَفًّا قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullih bin 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)said:` "Whoever completes a row, may Allah be generous to him, and whoever cuts a row, may Allah cut him off."
Hadith 857
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ الْحُكَيْمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُرَشِيّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ ، وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَاهُ ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَهُمَا ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ لِلصَّلَاةِ فَأَسْبَغَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ مَشَى إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ فَصَلَّاهَا مَعَ النَّاسِ أَوْ مَعَ الْجَمَاعَةِ أَوْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ذُنُوبَهُ " .
´It was narrated that 'Uthman bin 'Affan said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever does wudu' properly, then walks to (attend) the prescribed prayer, and prays with the people or with the congregation or in the Masjid, Allah will forgive him his sins."
Hadith 863
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ مَنْبُوذٍ ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ذَهَبَ إِلَى بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ فَيَتَحَدَّثُ عِنْدَهُمْ حَتَّى يَنْحَدِرَ لِلْمَغْرِبِ قَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ فَبَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْرِعُ إِلَى الْمَغْرِبِ مَرَرْنَا بِالْبَقِيعِ فَقَالَ : " أُفٍّ لَكَ أُفٍّ لَكَ " قَالَ : فَكَبُرَ ذَلِكَ فِي ذَرْعِي فَاسْتَأْخَرْتُ وَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يُرِيدُنِي فَقَالَ : " مَا لَكَ امْشِ " فَقُلْتُ : أَحْدَثْتَ حَدَثًا قَالَ : مَا ذَاكَ قُلْتُ : أَفَّفْتَ بِي قَالَ : لَا وَلَكِنْ هَذَا فُلَانٌ بَعَثْتُهُ سَاعِيًا عَلَى بَنِي فُلَانٍ فَغَلَّ نَمِرَةً فَدُرِّعَ الْآنَ مِثْلُهَا مِنْ نَارٍ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Rafi said:` "After the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had prayed Asr, he would go to Banu 'Abdul-Ashhal to speak to them, until the time for Maghrib came." Abu Rafi said: "While the Prophet (ﷺ) was hastening to pray Maghrib, we passed by and he said: 'Fie on you, fie on you!' That upset me so I slowed down because I thought hat he meant me. He said: 'What is the matter with you? Keep up!' I said: 'Is there something wrong?' He said: 'Why are you asking that? I said: 'Because you said: "Fie on you" to me.' He said: 'No, that was so-and-so whom I had sent to collect Zakat from the tribe of so-and-so, and he stole a Namirah and now he is clothed with something similar made of Fire."'
Hadith 939
أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ ، وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيَّ أَخْبَرَاهُ ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَكِيمٍ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ فِي حَيَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَمَعْتُ لِقِرَاءَتِهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ يَقْرَؤُهَا عَلَى حُرُوفٍ كَثِيرَةٍ لَمْ يُقْرِئْنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكِدْتُ أُسَاوِرُهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَتَصَبَّرْتُ حَتَّى سَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ لَبَّبْتُهُ بِرِدَائِهِ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ أَقْرَأَكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ الَّتِي سَمِعْتُكَ تَقْرَؤُهَا فَقَالَ : أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ : كَذَبْتَ فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ أَقْرَأَنِي هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ الَّتِي سَمِعْتُكَ تَقْرَؤُهَا فَانْطَلَقْتُ بِهِ أَقُودُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ هَذَا يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ عَلَى حُرُوفٍ لَمْ تُقْرِئْنِيهَا وَأَنْتَ أَقْرَأْتَنِي سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْسِلْهُ يَا عُمَرُ اقْرَأْ يَا هِشَامُ " فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةَ الَّتِي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَؤُهَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْرَأْ يَا عُمَرُ " فَقَرَأْتُ الْقِرَاءَةَ الَّتِي أَقْرَأَنِي قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ أُنْزِلَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ " .
´Urwah bin Az-Zubair narrated that Al-Miswar bin Makhramah and AbdurRahman bin Abdul-Qari told him that:` They heard Umar bin Al-Khattab say: "I heard Hisham bin Hakim bin Hizam reciting Surat Al-Furqan during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so I listened to his recitation and he was reciting it in a way that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had not taught me. I was about to jump on him while he was praying, but I waited patiently until he said the Salam (at the end of the prayer). When he had said the Salam I grabbed him by his garment and said: 'Who taught you this Surah that I heard you reciting?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me it. I said: 'You are lying, by Allah! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is the one who taught me this Surah that I heard you reciting.' I took him to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I heard this man reciting Surat Al-Furqan in a way that you did not teach me, but you taught me Surat Al-Furqan.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:' Let him go, O Umar. Recite, O Hisham.' So I recited it to him in the way that I had heard him recite. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'It was revealed like this.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Recite, O Umar.' So I recited it in the way that he had taught me. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'It was revealed like this.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'This Quran has been revealed to be recited in seven different modes, so recite as much of the Quran as may be easy for you.'"
Hadith 990
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِمَرْوَانَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ : أَتَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ و إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " قَالَ : " فَمَحْلُوفَةٌ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِأَطْوَلِ الطُّولَيَيْنِ المص " .
´It was narrated from Zaid bin Thabit that :` He said to Marwan: "O Abu Abdul-Malik, do you recite: 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One' and 'Verily, We have granted you Al-Kawthar' in maghrib?" He said: "Yes." He (Zaid) said: "I swear by Allah, I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reciting the longer of the two long surahs in it: 'Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad.'"
Hadith 994
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الرِّجَالِ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ رَجُلًا عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ فَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ فَيَخْتِمُ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوا ذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " سَلُوهُ لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَسَأَلُوهُ " فَقَالَ : لِأَنَّهَا صِفَةُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِهَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَخْبِرُوهُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّهُ " .
´It was narrated from Aishah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent a man on a campaign, and he used to recite to his companions when leading them in prayer, and would conclude with 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' When they returned, they told the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about that. He said: "Ask them why he did that." So they asked him and he said: "Because it is a description of the Most Merciful, the Mighty and Sublime, and I love to recite it." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Tell him that Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, loves him."
Hadith 1020
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ قِرَاءَةَ أَبِي مُوسَى فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ أُوتِيَ مِزْمَارًا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " .
´Abu Hurairah narrated that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard the recitation of Abu Musa and said: He has been given a Mizmar among the Mazamir of the family of Dawud, peace be upon him."
Hadith 1097
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، وَيُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ لَا أَكُفَّ الشَّعْرَ وَلَا الثِّيَابَ الْجَبْهَةِ وَالْأَنْفِ وَالْيَدَيْنِ وَالرُّكْبَتَيْنِ وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that :` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven, and not to tuck up my hair nor my garment: the forehead, the nose, the hands, the knees and the feet."
Hadith 1115
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو السَّرْحِيُّ مِنْ وَلَدِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ كُرَيْبًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ يُصَلِّي وَرَأْسُهُ مَعْقُوصٌ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ فَقَامَ فَجَعَلَ يَحُلُّهُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَقْبَلَ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ : مَا لَكَ وَرَأْسِي قَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ هَذَا مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ مَكْتُوفٌ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas that:` He saw 'Abdullah bin Al-Harith praying with his hair bound behind him. He stopped and started to undo it. When he finished he turned to Ibn 'Abbas and said: "What were you doing to my head?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'The likeness of this is that of one who prays with his hands tie behind his neck.'"
Hadith 1120
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ . ح وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا قَالَ : " نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ رَاكِعًا أَوْ سَاجِدًا " .
´'Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me from reciting the Quran when bowing or prostrating."
Hadith 1138
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The closest that a person can be to his Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, is when he is prostrating, so increase in supplication then."
Hadith 1167
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ الْجَزَرِيّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، وَعَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا نَعْلَمُ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قُولُوا فِي كُلِّ جَلْسَةٍ التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " .
´It was narrated from Al-Aswad and 'Alqamah, that Abdullah bin Mas'ud said:` "We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and we did not know anything, then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us: "Every time you sit (in prayer), say: At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat, as-salamu 'alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatAllahi wa baraktuhu. As-salamu 'alaina wa 'ala 'ibad illahis-salihin, ashahdu an la illaha ill-Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu (Allah compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah (SWT) and his blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah (SWT). I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger)."
Hadith 1209
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ , وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
´Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab and Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahman said that:` They heard Abu Hurairah say: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The Tasbih is for men and clapping is for women.'"
Hadith 1216
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، قَالَ : قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فَسَمِعْنَاهُ , يَقُولُ : " أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْكَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : أَلْعَنُكَ بِلَعْنَةِ اللَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ كَأَنَّهُ يَتَنَاوَلُ شَيْئًا " , فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ , قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قَدْ سَمِعْنَاكَ تَقُولُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْئًا لَمْ نَسْمَعْكَ تَقُولُهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ , وَرَأَيْنَاكَ بَسَطْتَ يَدَكَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ إِبْلِيسَ جَاءَ بِشِهَابٍ مِنْ نَارٍ لِيَجْعَلَهُ فِي وَجْهِي , فَقُلْتُ : أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، ثُمَّ قُلْتُ : أَلْعَنُكَ بِلَعْنَةِ اللَّهِ فَلَمْ يَسْتَأْخِرْ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، ثُمَّ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ آخُذَهُ , وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا دَعْوَةُ أَخِينَا سُلَيْمَانَ لَأَصْبَحَ مُوثَقًا بِهَا يَلْعَبُ بِهِ وِلْدَانُ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Ad-Darda' said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood praying, and we heard him say: 'I seek refuge with Allah from you.' Then he said: 'I curse you with the curse of Allah (SWT),' three times and stretched out his hand as if to take something. When he finished praying we said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we heard you say something in your prayer that we have never heard you say before, and we saw you stretch out your hand.' He said: 'The enemy of Allah (SWT), Iblis, came with a brand of fire to throw it in my face, so I said: I seek refuge with Allah from you three times, then I wanted to take hold of him. By Allah (SWT), were it not for the prayer of our brother Sulaiman, he would have been tied up this morning for the children of Al-Madinah to play with him.'"
