Hadith 1587
Ubida bin al-Simit (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Gold is to be paid for by gold, silver by silver, wheat by wheat, barley by barley, dates by dates, and salt by salt, like for like and equal for equal, payment being made hand to hand. If these classes differ, then sell as you wish if payment is made hand to hand.
Hadith 1584
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Gold is to be paid for by gold, silver by silver, wheat by wheat, barley by barley, dates by dates, salt by salt, like by like, payment being made hand to hand. He who made an addition to it, or asked for an addition, in fact dealt in usury. The receiver and the giver are equally guilty.

Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) decreed pre-emption in every joint ownership and not divided-the one-it may be a dwelling or a garden. It is not lawful for him (for the partner) to sell that until his partner gives his consent. He (the partner) is entitled to buy it when he desires and he can abandon it if he so likes. And if he (the one partner) sells it without getting the consent of the (other partner), he has the greatest right to it.

Sa'id bin Zaid reported: I heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) say: He who took a span of earth wrongly would be made to wear around his neck seven earths on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Husayn, from al-Sha'bi, who said: I heard al-Nu'man ibn Bashir.
And Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us (and the wording is his), he informed us, Abu al-Ahwas, from Husayn, from al-Sha'bi, from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, who said:
"My father gave me a gift from his wealth, and my mother, Amrah bint Rawahah, said: 'I am not pleased until you make the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, a witness.' So my father went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to make him a witness to my gift. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: 'Did you do this for all your children?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Fear Allah and be just among your children.' So my father returned and took back that gift."
Hadith 1623
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Abu Hayyan, from al-Sha‘bi, from al-Nu‘man ibn Bashir.
And Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us (and the wording is his), Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, Abu Hayyan al-Taymi narrated to us, from al-Sha‘bi, al-Nu‘man ibn Bashir narrated to me:
“That my mother, the daughter of Rawaha, asked my father for some gift from his wealth for her son, but he delayed with her for a year, then it occurred to him (to do so). She said: ‘I will not be satisfied until you make the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, witness to what you have given to my son.’ So my father took me by the hand while I was a boy at that time, and he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, the mother of this one, the daughter of Rawaha, liked that I make you witness to what I have given to her son.’
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘O Bashir, do you have any children other than this one?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Did you give all of them a gift like this?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Then do not make me a witness, for I do not bear witness to injustice.’”
Hadith 1625
This hadith is narrated on the authority of Jabir through other chains of transmitters, but (with this addition of words) that thehadith transmitted on the authority of Ayyub (these words are found):" The Helpers (Ansar) conferred the benefit of 'Umrah, upon the Emigrants (Muhajirin), whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Keep your property to yourselves.
Hadith 1625
Sulaiman bin Yasir reported that Jabir gave this verdict. The inheritor has a right (to inherit) the life grant according to the statement of Jabir (b. 'Abdullah) (RA) which he narrated from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .

In the hadith related by Waki (the words are) "I said: How have the people been ordered about the will"; and in the hadith of Ibn Numair (the words are): "How has the will been prescribed for the Muslims, '.
Hadith 1635
A'isha reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) left neither dinar nor dirham (wealth in the form of cash), nor goats (and sheep), nor camels. And he made no will about anything (in regard to his material possessions, as he had none)
Hadith 1636
Aswad bin Yazid reported: It was mentioned before A'isha that will had been made (by the Holy Prophet) in favour of 'Ali (as the Prophet's first caliph), whereupon she said: When did he make will in his favour? I had been providing support to him (to the Holy Prophet) with my chest (or with my lap). He asked for a tray, when he fell in my lap (relaxing his body), and I did not realise that he had breathed his last. When did he make any will in his ('Ali's) favour?

سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ
ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : " يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ وَمَا يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ ، ثُمَّ بَكَى حَتَّى بَلَّ دَمْعُهُ الْحَصَى ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَمَا يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ ؟ ، قَالَ : اشْتَدَّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَعُهُ ، فَقَالَ : ائْتُونِي أَكْتُبْ لَكُمْ كِتَابًا لَا تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِي ، فَتَنَازَعُوا وَمَا يَنْبَغِي عِنْدَ نَبِيٍّ تَنَازُعٌ ، وَقَالُوا : مَا شَأْنُهُ أَهَجَرَ اسْتَفْهِمُوهُ ؟ ، قَالَ : دَعُونِي ، فَالَّذِي أَنَا فِيهِ خَيْرٌ أُوصِيكُمْ بِثَلَاثٍ : أَخْرِجُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ ، وَأَجِيزُوا الْوَفْدَ بِنَحْوِ مَا كُنْتُ أُجِيزُهُمْ ، قَالَ : وَسَكَتَ عَنِ الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ قَالَهَا فَأُنْسِيتُهَا " ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ .
Sa'id bin Jubair reported that Ibn 'Abbas said: Thursday, (and then said): What is this Thursday? He then wept so much that his tears moistened the pebbles. I said: Ibn 'Abbas, what is (significant) about Thursday? He (Ibn 'Abbas) said: The illness of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took a serious turn (on this day), and he said: Come to me, so that I should write for you a document that you may not go astray after me. They (the Companions around him) disputed, and it is not right to dispute in the presence of the Apostle. They said: How is he (Allah's Apostle) (ﷺ) ? Has he lost his consciousness? Try to learn from him (this point). He (the Holy Prophet) said: Leave me. I am better in the state (than the one in which you are engaged). I make a will about three things: Turn out the polytheists from the territory of Arabia; show hospitality to the (foreign) delegations as I used to show them hospitality. He (the narrator) said: He ( Ibn Abbas (RA) ) kept silent on the third point, or he (the narrator) said: But I forgot that.

Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) forbade (people) taking vows, and said: It does not (necessarily) bring good (in the form of substantial, and tangible results), but it is the meant whereby something is extracted from the miserly persons.

Salim reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) heard 'Umar while he was taking oath by his father. The rest of the hadith is the same.

مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : " لَطَمْتُ مَوْلًى لَنَا ، فَهَرَبْتُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ قُبَيْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، فَصَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ
أَبِي فَدَعَاهُ وَدَعَانِي ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : امْتَثِلْ مِنْهُ فَعَفَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : كُنَّا بَنِي مُقَرِّنٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ لَنَا إِلَّا خَادِمٌ وَاحِدَةٌ ، فَلَطَمَهَا أَحَدُنَا فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : أَعْتِقُوهَا ، قَالُوا : لَيْسَ لَهُمْ خَادِمٌ غَيْرُهَا ، قَالَ : " ، فَإِذَا اسْتَغْنَوْا عَنْهَا فَلْيُخَلُّوا سَبِيلَهَا " .
Mu'awiyah bin Suwaid reported: I slapped a slave belonging to us and then fled away. I came back just before noon and offered prayer behind my father. He called him (the slave) and me and said: Do as he has done to you. He granted pardon. He (my father) then said: We belonged to the family of Muqarrin during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him, and had only one slave-girl and one of us slapped her. This news reached Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and he said: Set her free. They (the members of the family) said: There is no other servant except she. Thereupon he said: Then employ her and when you can afford to dispense with her services, then set her free.
Hadith 1658
Hilal bin Yasaf reported that a person got angry and slapped his slave-girl. Thereupon Suwaid bin Muqarrin said to him: You could find no other part (to slap) but the prominent part of her face. See I was one of the seven sons of Muqarrin, and we had but only one slave-girl. The youngest of us slapped her, and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) commanded us to set her free. 2097
Hadith 1659
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of A'mash but with this variation of words: "There fell from my hand the whip on account of his (the Prophet's) awe."
Hadith 1660
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Abu'l-Qasim (one of the names of Allah's Messenger [may peace be upon him]) said: He who accused his slave of adultery, punishment would be imposed upon him on the Day of Resurrection, except in case the accusation was as he had said.
