Hadith 97
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَدُّ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى : هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تُرِيَنِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ : نَعَمْ ، " فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ ، فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهِمَا وَأَدْبَرَ بَدَأَ بِمُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ بِهِمَا إِلَى قَفَاهُ ثُمَّ رَدَّهُمَا حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي بَدَأَ مِنْهُ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Amr bin Yahya Al-Mazini that his father said to 'Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim - who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the grandfather of 'Amr bin Yahya:` "Can you show me how the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Wudu'? 'Abdullah bin Zaid said: "Yes. He called for (water for) Wudu' and poured some onto his hand, washing each hand twice. Then he rinsed his mouth and nose three times, then he washed his face three times, then he washed each hand twice, up to the elbow. Then he wiped his head with his hands, back and forth, starting at the front of his head and moving his hands to the nape of his neck, then bringing them back to the place he started. Then he washed his feet."
Hadith 98
أَخْبَرَنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ هُوَ ابْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ وَهُوَ جَدُّ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى : هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تُرِيَنِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ : نَعَمْ ، " فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ ، فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهِمَا وَأَدْبَرَ بَدَأَ بِمُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ بِهِمَا إِلَى قَفَاهُ ثُمَّ رَدَّهُمَا حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي بَدَأَ مِنْهُ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Amr bin Yahya that his father said to 'Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim - who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the grandfather of 'Amr bin Yahya:` "Can you show me how the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Wudu'?" Hadith 99
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الَّذِي أُرِيَ النِّدَاءَ ، قال : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Zaid, who was shown the call to prayer (in a dream), said:` "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) perform Wudu'; he washed his face three times and his hands twice, he washed his feet twice and wiped his head twice."
Hadith 160
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، ح وأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَعَبَّادُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قال : شُكِيَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِدُ الشَّيْءَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَنْصَرِفْ حَتَّى يَجِدَ رِيحًا أَوْ يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا " .
´Sa'eed - meaning Ibn Al-Musayyab - and 'Abbad bin Tamim narrated that his uncle - 'Abdullah bin Zaid - said:` "A man who felt something during Salah complained to the Prophet (ﷺ). He said: 'Do not stop praying unless you notice a smell or hear a sound.'"
Hadith 696
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِي وَمِنْبَرِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Zaid said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The area between my house and my Minbar is one of the gardens of Paradise.'"
Hadith 722
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى " .
It was narrated from 'Abbad bin Tamim, from his paternal uncle, that he saw the messenger of Allah (ﷺ) lying on his back in the Masjid, placing one leg on top of the other.
Hadith 1506
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : فَسَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ يُحَدِّثُ أَبِي ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ الَّذِي أُرِيَ النِّدَاءَ , قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى يَسْتَسْقِي فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَقَلَبَ رِدَاءَهُ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " , قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : هَذَا غَلَطٌ مِنَ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الَّذِي أُرِيَ النِّدَاءَ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ ، وَهَذَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ .
´It was narrated from 'Abbad bin Tamim:` "Sufyan said: 'I asked 'Abdullah bin Abi Bakr who said: I heard it from Abbad bin Tamim who narrated it from his father, that 'Abdullah bin Zaid, who was shown the call to prayer (in a dream) said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out to the prayer place to pray for rain. He faced the kiblah and turned his cloak around and prayed two rak'ahs.'"
Hadith 1508
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " اسْتَسْقَى وَعَلَيْهِ خَمِيصَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Zaid that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed for rain wearing a black khamisah.
Hadith 1510
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، أَنَّ عَمَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَسْتَسْقِي فَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ وَحَوَّلَ لِلنَّاسِ ظَهْرَهُ وَدَعَا ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقَرَأَ فَجَهَرَ " .
´It was narrated from Abbad bin Tamim that :` His paternal uncle had told him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to pray for rain. He turned his rida' around, and turned his back to the people, then he prayed two rak'ahs and recited loudly.
Hadith 1511
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اسْتَسْقَى وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَقَلَبَ رِدَاءَهُ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abbad bin Tamim, from his paternal uncle that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed for rain, and prayed two rak'ahs, and turned his rida' around.
Hadith 1512
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبَّادَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ , يَقُولُ : خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَاسْتَسْقَى وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ حِينَ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Bakr that:` He heard Abbad bin Tamim said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out and prayed for rain, and he turned his rida' around when he turned to the Qiblah."
Hadith 1513
أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ أَبُو تَقِيٍّ الْحِمْصِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَقَلَبَ الرِّدَاءَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abbad bin Tamim, from his paternal uncle, that:` He saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when he prayed for rain, turn to face the Qiblah, turning his cloak around and raising his hands.
Hadith 1520
قَالَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ وَيُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمَّهُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا يَسْتَسْقِي فَحَوَّلَ إِلَى النَّاسِ ظَهْرَهُ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ وَيَسْتَقْبِلُ الْقِبْلَةَ وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ , ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " , قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ فِي الْحَدِيثِ : وَقَرَأَ فِيهِمَا .
´It was narrated that Ibn Shihab said:` "Abbad bin Tamim told me that he heard his paternal uncle, who was one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out one day to pray for rain. He turned his back toward the people, praying to Allah (SWT), and he turned to face the Qiblah. He turned his rida' around, then he prayed two rak'ahs." (One of the narrators) Ibn Abi Dhi'b said in the hadith: "And he recited in them both."
Hadith 1521
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " خَرَجَ يَسْتَسْقِي فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Zaid that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) went out to pray for rain, and he prayed two rak'ahs facing the Qiblah. (Sahih
Hadith 1523
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَرَجَ فَاسْتَسْقَى فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ جَهَرَ فِيهِمَا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abbad bin Tamim from his paternal uncle that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) went out and prayed for rain, then he prayed two rak'ahs in which he recited loudly.
