Hadith 235
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لَهُ : " تَوَضَّأْ لَنَا وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ ، فَأَكْفَأَ مِنْهَا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ مِنْ كَفٍّ وَاحِدَةٍ ، فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ، مَرَّتَيْنِ ، مَرَّتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا ، فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَدْبَرَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : هَكَذَا كَانَ وُضُوءُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
'Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim al-Ansari (RA), who was a Companion (of the Holy Prophet), reported: It was said to him (by people): Perform for us the ablution (as it was performed) by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . He ('Abdullah bin Zaid) called for a vessel (of water), and poured water from it on his hands and washed them three times. Then he inserted his hand (in the vessel) and brought it (water) out, rinsed his mouth and snuffed up water from the palm of one hand doing that three times, He again inserted his hand and brought it out and washed his face three times, then inserted his hand and brought it out and washed each arm up to the elbow thrice, then inserted his hand and brought it out and wiped his head both front and back with his hands. He then washed his feet up to the ankles, and then said: This is how God's Messenger (peace be upon him) performed ablution.
Hadith 236
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِيُّ ، وَأَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ حَبَّانَ بْنَ وَاسِعٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الْمَازِنِيَّ يَذْكُرُ : " أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَمَضْمَضَ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَنْثَرَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، وَيَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا ، وَالأُخْرَى ثَلَاثًا ، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ بِمَاءٍ غَيْرِ فَضْلِ يَدِهِ ، وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَنْقَاهُمَا " ، قَالَ أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ .
'Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim al-Mazini (RA) reported: He saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) perform the ablution. He rinsed his mouth then cleaned his nose, then washed his face three times, then washed his right hand thrice and then the other one, thrice. He then took fresh water and wiped his head and then washed his feet till he cleaned them.
Hadith 361
وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، وَعَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، " شُكِيَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، الرَّجُلُ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ ، أَنَّهُ يَجِدُ الشَّيْءَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، قَالَ : لَا يَنْصَرِفُ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا ، أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ فِي رِوَايَتِهِمَا ، هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ .
'Abbad bin Tamim reported from his uncle that a person made a complaint to the Apostle (ﷺ) that he entertained (doubt) as if something had happened to him breaking his ablution. He (the Holy Prophet) said: He should not return (from prayer) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell (of passing wind). Abu Bakr (RA) and Zuhair bin Harb have pointed out in their narrations that it was 'Abdullah bin Zaid.
Hadith 894
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبَّادَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ الْمَازِنِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى ، فَاسْتَسْقَى وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ حِينَ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ " .
'Abdullah bin Zaid bin Mazini (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to the place of prayer and prayed for rain and turned round his mantle while facing the Qibla.
Hadith 894
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : " خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى ، فَاسْتَسْقَى وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَقَلَبَ رِدَاءَهُ ، وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Ibn Tamim narrated on the authority of his uncle ('Abdullah bin Zaid) that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) went out to the place of prayer and prayed for rain and faced towards Qibla, and turned round his mantle and prayed two rak'ahs.
Hadith 894
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّ عَبَّادَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى يَسْتَسْقِي ، وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ " .
'Abdullah bin Zaid al-Ansari (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out to the place of prayer in order to offer prayer for rainfall. And when he intended to make supplication he faced Qibla and turned round his mantle.
Hadith 894
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمَّهُ ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا يَسْتَسْقِي ، فَجَعَلَ إِلَى النَّاسِ ظَهْرَهُ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ ، وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
'Abbad bin Tamim Mazini heard his uncle, who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , as saying: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out one day in order to pray for rain. He turned his back towards people, supplicated before Allah, facing towards Qibla, and turned his mantle round and then observed two rak'ahs of prayer.
Hadith 1061
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا فَتَحَ حُنَيْنًا قَسَمَ الْغَنَائِمَ ، فَأَعْطَى الْمُؤَلَّفَةَ قُلُوبُهُمْ ، فَبَلَغَهُ أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُصِيبُوا مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسُ ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَطَبَهُمْ ، فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَمْ أَجِدْكُمْ ضُلَّالًا فَهَدَاكُمُ اللَّهُ بِي ، وَعَالَةً فَأَغْنَاكُمُ اللَّهُ بِي ، وَمُتَفَرِّقِينَ فَجَمَعَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِي ، وَيَقُولُونَ : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمَنُّ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا تُجِيبُونِي " ، فَقَالُوا : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمَنُّ ، فَقَالَ : أَمَا إِنَّكُمْ لَوْ شِئْتُمْ أَنْ تَقُولُوا كَذَا وَكَذَا ، وَكَانَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا لِأَشْيَاءَ عَدَّدَهَا " زَعَمَ عَمْرٌ وَأَنْ لَا يَحْفَظُهَا ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالشَّاءِ وَالْإِبِلِ ، وَتَذْهَبُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِلَى رِحَالِكُمْ الْأَنْصَارُ شِعَارٌ ، وَالنَّاسُ دِثَارٌ وَلَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ ، وَلَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا وَشِعْبًا ، لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَشِعْبَهُمْ ، إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً ، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " .
'Abdullah bin Zaid (RA) reported that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) conquered Hunain he distributed the booty, and he bestowed upon those whose hearts it was intended to win. It was conveyed to him (the Holy Prophet) that the Ansar cherished a desire that they should be given (that very portion) which the people (of Quraish) had got. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and, after having praised Allah and lauded Him, addressed them thus: O people of Ansar, did I not find you erring and Allah guided you aright through me, and (in the state of) being destitute and Allah made you free from want through me, and in a state of disunity and Allah united you through me, and they (the Ansar) said: Allah and His Messenger are most benevolent. He (again) said: Why do you not answer me? They said: Allah and His Messenger are the most benevolent. He said, If you wish you should say so and so, and the event (should take) such and such course (and in this connection he made a mention) of so many things. 'Amr is under the impression that he has not been able to remember them. He (the Holy Prophet) further said: Don't you feel happy (over this state of affairs) that the people should go away with goats and camels, and you go to your places along with the Messenger of Allah? (ﷺ) The Ansar are inner garments (more close to me) and (other) people are outer garments. Had there not been migration, I would have been a man from among the Ansar. If the people were to tread a valley or a narrow path, I would tread the valley (chosen) by the Ansar or narrow path (trodden) by them. And you would soon find after me preferences (over you in getting material benefits). So you should show patience till you meet me at the Haud (Kauthar).
Hadith 1360
حدثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ ، وَدَعَا لِأَهْلِهَا ، وَإِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ ، كَمَا حَرَّمَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مَكَّةَ ، وَإِنِّي دَعَوْتُ فِي صَاعِهَا ، وَمُدِّهَا بِمِثْلَيْ مَا دَعَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ " ،
'Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Verily Ibrahim ؑ declared Makkah sacred and supplicated (for blessings to be showered) upon its inhabitants, and I declare Madinah to be sacred as Ibrahim had declared Makkah to be sacred. I have supplicated (Allah for His blessings to be showered) in its sa' and its mudd (two standards of weight and measurement) twice as did Ibrahim for the inhabitants of Makkah.
Hadith 1390
حدثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْمَازِنيِّ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ، قَالَ : " مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِي ، وَمِنْبَرِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mazini (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: That which is between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.
Hadith 1390
وحدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا بَيْنَ مِنْبَرِي ، وَبَيْتِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
Abdullah bin Zaid al-Ansari (RA) heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: That which exists between my pulpit and my house is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.
Hadith 1861
وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَي ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : " أَتَاهُ آتٍ ، فَقَالَ : هَا ذَاكَ ابْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ ، فَقَالَ : عَلَى مَاذَا ؟ ، قَالَ : عَلَى الْمَوْتِ ، قَالَ : لَا أُبَايِعُ عَلَى هَذَا أَحَدًا بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
The above tradition has also been handed down through a different chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2100
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، قال : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، " أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى " .
'Abbad bin Tamim reported from his uncle that he saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) lying in the mosque and placing his one foot upon the other.
