Hadith 320
وحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَا وَأَخُوهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ غُسْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ : " فَدَعَتْ بِإِنَاءٍ قَدْرِ الصَّاعِ ، فَاغْتَسَلَتْ ، وَبَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهَا سِتْرٌ ، وَأَفْرَغَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا ثَلَاثًا " ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْخُذْنَ مِنْ رُءُوسِهِنَّ ، حَتَّى تَكُونَ كَالْوَفْرَة .
Abu Salamab. 'Abdul Rahman reported: I along with the foster brother of 'A'isha went to her and he asked about the bath of the Apostle (ﷺ) because of sexual intercourse. She called for a vessel equal to a Sa' and she took a bath. and there was a curtain between us and her. She poured water on her head thrice and he (Abu Salama) said: The wives of the Apostle (ﷺ) collected hair on their heads and these lopped up to ears (and did not go beyond that).
Hadith 481
وحَدَّثَنِي ، وحَدَّثَنِي ، عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ ، وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ " ، لَا يَذْكُرُ فِي الإِسْنَادِ عَلِيًّا .
Ibn 'Abbas reported: I was forbidden to recite (the Qur'an) while I was bowing, and there is no mention of 'Ali in the chain of transmitters.
Hadith 512
وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ، " مَا يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قَالَ : فَقُلْنَا : الْمَرْأَةُ ، وَالْحِمَارُ ، فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ لَدَابَّةُ سَوْءٍ ، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مُعْتَرِضَةً كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجَنَازَةِ ، وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي " .
'Urwa bin Zubair reported: 'A'isha asked: What disrupts the prayer? We said: The woman and the ass. Upon this she remarked: Is the woman an ugly animal? I lay in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) like the bier of a corpse and he said prayer.
Hadith 2068
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَأَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ آلِ عُطَارِدٍ قَبَاءً مِنْ دِيبَاجٍ أَوْ حَرِيرٍ ، فَقَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذَا مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ " ، فَأُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُلَّةٌ سِيَرَاءُ ، فَأَرْسَلَ بِهَا إِلَيَّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ أَرْسَلْتَ بِهَا إِلَيَّ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُكَ قُلْتَ فِيهَا مَا قُلْتَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَسْتَمْتِعَ بِهَا " .
ibn 'Umar reported that 'Umar saw a person of the tribe of 'Utirid selling a garment made of brocade or silk and said to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : Would that you buy it? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: He who wears it has no share for him in the Hereafter. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was presented with a striped silk garment and he sent it to him ('Umar). He (, Umar) said: You sent it to me whereas I heard from you about it what you had to say, whereupon he (Allah's Messenger) said: I sent it to you so that you may benefit by it.
Hadith 2068
وحدثني ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَأَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ آلِ عُطَارِدٍ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَي بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ ، قَالَ : إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَنْتَفِعَ بِهَا وَلَمْ أَبْعَثْ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَلْبَسَهَا .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar (RA) through another chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording (and the words are that the Holy Prophet) said: I sent it to you so that you might derive benefit from it. but I did not send it to you to wear it.
