Hadith 338
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ ، نَحْوَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ ، " وَمَنِ اكْتَحَلَ فَلْيُوتِرْ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ ، وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ ، وَمَنْ لَاكَ فَلْيَبْتَلِعْ " .
´A similar report was narrated by 'Abdul-Malik bin As-Sabbah with a similar chain, with the additional words:` "Whoever applies kohl to his eyes, let him add it an odd number of times. Whoever does that has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm in it. And whoever dislodges (a particle of food from between the teeth) by dislodging it with his tongue, let him swallow it."
Hadith 681
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَبْرِدُوا بِالظُّهْرِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Wait for it to cool down before you pray the Zuhr.'"
Hadith 789
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ رُسْتَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ تَفْضُلُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ وَحْدَهُ بِسَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ دَرَجَةً " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The prayer of a man in congregation is twenty-seven levels more virtuous than a man's prayer on his own.'"
Hadith 901
حَدَّثَنَا جَمِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَنَا ، وَبَيَّنَ لَنَا سُنَّتَنَا ، وَعَلَّمَنَا صَلَاتَنَا ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ فَكَانَ عِنْدَ الْقَعْدَةِ ، فَلْيَكُنْ مِنْ أَوَّلِ قَوْلِ أَحَدِكُمْ : التَّحِيَّاتُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ الصَّلَوَاتُ لِلَّهِ ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، سَبْعُ كَلِمَاتٍ هُنَّ تَحِيَّةُ الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) addressed us and explained the Sunnah for us, and he taught us our prayer. He said: ‘When you perform prayer, and you are sitting, let the first thing you say be: At-Tahiyyatut-tayyibatus-salawatu lillah; as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu; as-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibadillahis-salihin. Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluhu (All compliments, good words and prayers are due to Allah; peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger). Seven phrases which are the greeting of the prayer.’”
Hadith 1357
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ : بِمَ كَانَ يَسْتَفْتِحُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاتَهُ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ؟ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ جِبْرَئِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ، أَنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ، اهْدِنِي لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِكَ ، إِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِي إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ : احْفَظُوهُ جِبْرَئِيلَ مَهْمُوزَةً فَإِنَّهُ كَذَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´It was narrated that Abu Salamah bin `Abdur-Rahman said:` “I asked `Aishah: ‘With what did the Prophet (ﷺ) start his voluntary prayers?’ She said: ‘He would say: “Allahumma Rabba Jibra’il wa Mika’il wa Israfil, Fatiras-samawati wal-ard, `alimal-ghaybi wash- shahadah, Anta tahkumu baina `ibadika fima kanu fihi yakhtalifun, ihdini lima-khtulifa fihi minal-haqqi bi idhnika, innaka latahdi ila siratin mustaqim (O Allah, Lord of Jibra’il, Mika’il and Israfil, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your slaves concerning that wherein they differ. Guide me to the disputed matters of truth by Your Leave, for You are the One Who guides to the straight Path).” (One of the narrators) `Abdur-Rahman bin `Umar said: “Bear in mind the word Jibra’il with a Hamzah - this is how it was narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ).”
Hadith 1377
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قُبُورًا " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Do not make your houses into graves.’”
Hadith 1989
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ " ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ ، يُقَالُ لَهَا : أُمُّ يَعْقُوبَ ، فَجَاءَتْ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَتْ : بَلَغَنِي عَنْكَ ، أَنَّكَ قُلْتَ : كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ ، قَالَ : وَمَا لِي لَا أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَأَقْرَأُ مَا بَيْنَ لَوْحَيْهِ ، فَمَا وَجَدْتُهُ ، قَالَ : إِنْ كُنْتِ قَرَأْتِهِ فَقَدْ وَجَدْتِهِ أَمَا قَرَأْتِ وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا سورة الحشر آية 7 ، قَالَتْ : بَلَى ، قَالَ : فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُ ، قَالَتْ : فَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّ أَهْلَكَ يَفْعَلُونَ ، قَالَ : اذْهَبِي فَانْظُرِي ، فَذَهَبَتْ فَنَظَرَتْ ، فَلَمْ تَرَ مِنْ حَاجَتِهَا شَيْئًا ، قَالَتْ : مَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : لَوْ كَانَتْ كَمَا تَقُولِينَ مَا جَامَعَتْنَا .
´It was narrated that 'Abdulleh said:` "The Messenger of Allah cursed the woman who does tattoos and the one who has them done, and those who pluck their eyebrows and file their teeth for the purpose of beautification, and those who change the creation of Allah." News of that reached a woman of Banu Asad who was called Umm Ya'qub. She came to him and said: "I have heard that you said such and such." He said: 'Why should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah cursed ? And it is in the Book of Allah.'' She said: "I read what is between its two covers 'and I have not found that." He said: "If you read it properly you would have found it. Have you not read the words: 'And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it).'?" She said: "Of course." He said: 'The Messenger of Allah forbade that." She said: 'I think that your wife does it.' He said: " Go and look." So she went and looked and she did not see what she wanted. She said: "I have not seen anything!’ 'Abdullah said: "If she was as you say, I would not have kept her with me. "
Hadith 2497
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَضَى بِالشُّفْعَةِ فِيمَا لَمْ يُقْسَمْ فَإِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْحُدُودُ فَلَا شُفْعَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ruled concerning preemption of land that has not been divided; if the boundaries have been set then there is no preemption.
Hadith 3498
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ , عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعْدِ الْخَيْرِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنِ اكْتَحَلَ فَلْيُوتِرْ , مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ , وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever applies kohl, let him do it an odd number of times. Whoever does that has done well, and whoever does not, it does not matter.”
