Hadith 121
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سَابِطٍ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ مُعَاوِيَةُ فِي بَعْضِ حَجَّاتِهِ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ سَعْدٌ فَذَكَرُوا عَلِيًّا فَنَالَ مِنْهُ ، فَغَضِبَ سَعْدٌ ، وَقَالَ : تَقُولُ هَذَا لِرَجُلٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ " ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي " ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ " .
´It was narrated that Sa`d bin Waqqas said:` "Mu`awiyah came on one of his pilgrimages and Sa`d entered upon him. They mentioned `Ali, and Mu`awiyah criticized him. Sa`d became angry and said: 'Are you saying this of a man of whom I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "If I am a person's close friend, `Ali is also his close friend." And I heard him say: "You are to me like Harun was to Musa, except that there will be no Prophet after me." And I heard him say: "I will give the banner today to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger."
Hadith 1338
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ سَابِطٍ الْجُمَحِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : أَبْطَأْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْنَ كُنْتِ ؟ " ، قُلْتُ : كُنْتُ أَسْتَمِعُ قِرَاءَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ ، لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِثْلَ قِرَاءَتِهِ وَصَوْتِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ ، قَالَتْ : فَقَامَ ، وَقُمْتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى اسْتَمَعَ لَهُ ، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : " هَذَا سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي أُمَّتِي مِثْلَ هَذَا ".
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “One night at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) I was late returning from the ‘Isha’, then I came and he said: ‘Where were you?’ I said: ‘I was listening to the recitation of a man among your Companions, for I have never heard a recitation or a voice like his from anyone.’ He got up and I got up with him, to go and listen to him. Then he turned to me and said: ‘This is Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifah. Praise is to Allah Who has created such men among my Ummah.’”
Hadith 3110
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، وَابْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَابِطٍ ، عَنْ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَزَالُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا عَظَّمُوا هَذِهِ الْحُرْمَةَ حَقَّ تَعْظِيمِهَا ، فَإِذَا ضَيَّعُوا ذَلِكَ هَلَكُوا " .
´It was narrated from ‘Ayyash bin Abu Rabi’ah (Makhzumi) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` ‘The goodness of this nation will not cease as long as they revere this sanctuary* as it is due. But when they lose that reverence, they will be doomed.”
Hadith 3710
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَيْفَ أَصْبَحْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " بِخَيْرٍ , مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَمْ يُصْبِحْ صَائِمًا , وَلَمْ يَعُدْ سَقِيمًا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` "I said: 'How are you this morning, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I am better than one who did not get up fasting, and who did not visit and sick.'"
