Hadith 705
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَغْلِبَنَّكُمْ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ " ، زَادَ ابْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ ، " فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ الْعِشَاءُ ، وَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُونَ الْعَتَمَةُ لِإِعْتَامِهِمْ بِالْإِبِلِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Prophet said: "Do not let the Bedouins make you change the name of your prayer." Ibn Harmalah added: "Rather it is the 'Isha', but they say the 'Atamah because they bring their camels in for milking at that time (when it is dark)."
Hadith 983
حَدَّثَنَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ فِي سَفِينَةٍ فِيهَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ ، فَحَانَتْ صَلَاةٌ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ ، فَأَمَرْنَاهُ أَنْ يَؤُمَّنَا ، وَقُلْنَا لَهُ : إِنَّكَ أَحَقُّنَا بِذَلِكَ أَنْتَ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَبَى ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ أَمَّ النَّاسَ فَأَصَابَ ، فَالصَّلَاةُ لَهُ وَلَهُمْ ، وَمَنِ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا فَعَلَيْهِ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ " .
´It was narrated from Abu ‘Ali Al-Hamdani that he went out in a ship in which ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani was present. The time for prayer came, and we told him to lead us in prayer and said to him:` “You are the most deserving of that, you were the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).” But he refused and said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever leads the people and gets it right, the prayer will be for him and for them, but if he falls short, then that will be counted against him but not against them.”
