Hadith 313
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي أَجْنَبْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِدِ الْمَاءَ ، قال عُمَرُ : لَا تُصَلِّ ، فَقَالَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَمَا تَذْكُرُ إِذْ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَأَجْنَبْنَا فَلَمْ نَجِدِ الْمَاءَ ، فَأَمَّا أَنْتَ فَلَمْ تُصَلِّ ، وَأَمَّا أَنَا فَتَمَعَّكْتُ فِي التُّرَابِ فَصَلَّيْتُ ، فَأَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَكْفِيكَ فَضَرَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ، ثُمَّ نَفَخَ فِيهِمَا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْهِ " . وَسَلَمَةُ شَكَّ ، لَا يَدْرِي فِيهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ أَوْ إِلَى الْكَفَّيْنِ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : نُوَلِّيكَ مَا تَوَلَّيْتَ .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that a man came to 'Umar and said:` "I have become Junub and I do not have any water." 'Umar said: "Do not pray." But 'Ammar bin Yasir said: "O Commander of the Believers! Don't you remember when you and I were on a campaign and we became Junub and could not find water? You did not pray, but I rolled in the dust and prayed. Then we came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him about that, and he said: 'It would have been sufficient for you (to do this),' then the Prophet (ﷺ) struck his hands on the ground and blew on them, then wiped his face and hands with them'" - (one of the narrators) Salamah was uncertain and did not know whether that was up to the elbows or just hands. And 'Umar said: "We will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself."
Hadith 317
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ ، وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، قال : كُنَّا عِنْدَ عُمَرَ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، رُبَّمَا نَمْكُثُ الشَّهْرَ وَالشَّهْرَيْنِ وَلَا نَجِدُ الْمَاءَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : أَمَّا أَنَا ، فَإِذَا لَمْ أَجِدِ الْمَاءَ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُصَلِّيَ حَتَّى أَجِدَ الْمَاءَ ، فَقَالَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ : أَتَذْكُرُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَيْثُ كُنْتَ بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَنَحْنُ نَرْعَى الْإِبِلَ ، فَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّا أَجْنَبْنَا ؟ قال : نَعَمْ ، أَمَّا أَنَا فَتَمَرَّغْتُ فِي التُّرَابِ ، فَأَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَضَحِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَ الصَّعِيدُ لَكَافِيكَ ، وَضَرَبَ بِكَفَّيْهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ، ثُمَّ نَفَخَ فِيهِمَا ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ وَبَعْضَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ " . فَقَالَ : اتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَا عَمَّارُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، إِنْ شِئْتَ لَمْ أَذْكُرْهُ ، قَالَ : وَلَكِنْ نُوَلِّيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مَا تَوَلَّيْتَ .
´It was narrated that 'Abddur-Rahman bin Abza said:` "We were with 'Umar when a man came to him and said: 'O Commander of the Believers! sometimes we stay for a month or two without finding any water. Umar said: As if I did not find water, I would not pray until I found water.' 'Ammar bin Yasir said: 'Do you remember, O Commander of the Believer, when you were in such and such a place and we were rearing the camels, and you know that we became Junub?' He said: 'Yes.' 'As for me I rolled in the dust, then we came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he laughed and said: "Clean earth would have been sufficient for you." And he struck his hands on the earth then blew on them, then he wiped his face and part of his forearms. He ('Umar) said: "Fear Allah, O 'Ammar!'" He said: 'O Commander of the Believers! If you wish I will not mention it.' He said: 'No, we will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself.'"
Hadith 318
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ عَنِ التَّيَمُّمِ ، فَلَمْ يَدْرِ مَا يَقُولُ ، فَقَالَ عَمَّارٌ : أَتَذْكُرُ حَيْثُ كُنَّا فِي سَرِيَّةٍ ، فَأَجْنَبْتُ فَتَمَعَّكْتُ فِي التُّرَابِ ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكَ هَكَذَا ، وَضَرَبَ شُعْبَةُ بِيَدَيْهِ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَنَفَخَ فِي يَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْهِ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, that a man asked 'Umar bin Al-Khattab about Tayammum and he did not know what to say. 'Ammar said:` "Do you remember when we were on a campaign, and I became Junub and rolled in the dust, then I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: 'This would have been sufficient.'" (One of the narrators) Shu'bah struck his hands on his knees and blew into his hands, then he wiped his face and palms with them once.
Hadith 320
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، وَسَلَمَةُ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنْ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي أَجْنَبْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِد الْمَاءَ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : لَا تُصَلِّ ، فَقَالَ عَمَّارٌ : أَمَا تَذْكُرُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَأَجْنَبْنَا فَلَمْ نَجِدْ مَاءً ، فَأَمَّا أَنْتَ فَلَمْ تُصَلِّ ، وَأَمَّا أَنَا فَتَمَعَّكْتُ فِي التُّرَابِ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ ، فَلَمَّا أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكَ ، وَضَرَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ، ثُمَّ نَفَخَ فِيهِمَا فَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْهِ " . شَكَّ سَلَمَةُ ، وَقَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي فِيهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ أَوْ إِلَى الْكَفَّيْنِ . قَالَ عُمَرُ : نُوَلِّيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مَا تَوَلَّيْتَ . قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : كَانَ يَقُولُ الْكَفَّيْنِ وَالْوَجْهَ وَالذِّرَاعَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مَنْصُورٌ : مَا تَقُولُ ؟ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذْكُرُ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكَ ، فَشَكَّ سَلَمَةُ ، فَقَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي ذَكَرَ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ أَمْ لَا .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, that a man came to 'Umar, may Allah be please with him, and said:` "I have become Junub and I cannot find any water." 'Umar said: "Do not pray." 'Ammar said: "Do you not remember, O Commander of the Believers, when you and I were on a campaign and became Junub, and we could not find any water. You did not pray, but I rolled in the dust then prayed. When we came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) I told him about that and he said: 'This would have been sufficient for you,' and then Prophet (ﷺ) struck the earth with his hands then blew on them and wiped his face and hands - (one of the narrators) Salamah was uncertain and said: "I do not know if he said it should be up to the elbows or just the hands." - 'Umar said: "We will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself." (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: "He used to say the hands, face and forearms." (Another) Mansur said to him: "What are you saying? No one mentions the forearms except you." Salamah was not certain and said: "I do not know whether he mentioned the forearms or not."
Hadith 1700
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثِ رَكَعَاتٍ ، كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْأُولَى بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَيَقْنُتُ قَبْلَ الرُّكُوعِ , فَإِذَا فَرَغَ قَالَ عِنْدَ فَرَاغِهِ : سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ يُطِيلُ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ " .
´It was narrated from Ubayy bin Ka'b that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray witr with three rak'ahs. In the first he would recite: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" in the second: "Say: O you disbelievers!", and in the third: "Say: He is Allah, (the) One". And he would say the Qunut before bowing, and when he finished he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, elongating the words the last time.
Hadith 1701
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنَ الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ .
´It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b said:` "In the first rak'ah of witr, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite: "GLorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" in the second; "Say: O you disbelievers!" and in the third; "Say: He is Allah, (the) One."
Hadith 1702
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَزْرَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ , قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ بِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَلَا يُسَلِّمُ إِلَّا فِي آخِرِهِنَّ , وَيَقُولُ : يَعْنِي بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا " .
´It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;" in witr, in the second rak'ah he would recite: "Say: O you disbelievers!"; and in the third "Say: He is Allah, (the) One". And he only said the taslim at the end, and he would say- meaning after the taslim: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy)' three times."
Hadith 1730
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِشْكَابَ النَّسَائِيُّ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ , قَالَ : سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " .
´Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza narrated from his father, that:` Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."
Hadith 1731
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ , وَطَلْحَةَ , عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " , خَالَفَهُمَا حُصَيْنٌ فَرَوَاهُ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´Sa'eed bin Abdur-Rahman bin Abza narrated from his father, that:` Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"
Hadith 1732
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قَزَعَةَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ .
´It was narrated from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"
Hadith 1733
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ , وَزُبَيْدٍ , عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ , وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا وَيَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالثَّالِثَةِ " .
´Bahz bin Asad, said:` "Shu'bah narrated to us, from Salamah and Zubaid, from Dharr, from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice the third time."
Hadith 1734
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي سَلَمَةُ , وَزُبَيْدٌ , عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ , ثُمَّ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ، وَيَرْفَعُ بِسُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ صَوْتَهُ بِالثَّالِثَةِ " , رَوَاهُ مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ ذَرًّا .
´Khalid said:` "Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Salamah and Zubaid informed me, from Dharr, from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bn Abza from Abdur-Rahman, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice with Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus the third time."
Hadith 1735
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَكَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ وَفَرَغَ , قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا طَوَّلَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ " , وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ ذَرًّا .
´Mansur reported from Salamah bin Kuhail, from Sa'eed bin Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, who said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' ´'Abdul-Malik bin Abi Sulaiman reported from Zubaid, from Sa'eed bin Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, who said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"
Hadith 1737
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ , قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " .
´Muhammad bin Juhadah reported from Zubaid, Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, who said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he had finished praying, he said: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ,
´Shu'aib bin Harb reported from Malik, from Zubaid, from Ibn Abza, from his father, who said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ .
´'Ata bin As-Sa'ib reported from Sa'eed bin Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father:` That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَزْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ , قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا " .
´Muhammad bin Bashshar informed us, he said:` "Abu Dawud narrated to us from Shu'bah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard 'Azarah narrating from Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman Ibn Abza, from his father That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he had finished praying, he said: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ , قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا " وَيَمُدُّ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ " .

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى " , خَالَفَهُمَا شَبَابَةُ فَرَوَاهُ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ .
´Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna informed us, he said "Muhammad said:` Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Qatadah narrating from Zurarah, from Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.'
Hadith 1751
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَاسِمٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ , وَيَقُولُ بَعْدَ مَا يُسَلِّمُ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ .
´It was narrated from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;' and "Say: O you disbelievers!'; and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One." And after he had said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) raising his voice the third time."

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَعَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ و هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ , وَيَقُولُ بَعْدَ مَا يُسَلِّمُ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ , خَالَفَهُمَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ فَرَوَاهُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ .
´It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Abdur-Rahman bin Abza that:` His father said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;' and "Say: O you disbelievers!'; and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One." And after he had said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice with it."

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى و يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ و هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ , قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا " يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ , قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ أَثْبَتُ عِنْدَنَا مِنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ وَمِنْ قَاسِمِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، وَأَثْبَتُ أَصْحَابِ سُفْيَانَ عِنْدَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، ثُمَّ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، ثُمَّ وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، ثُمَّ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، ثُمَّ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، ثُمَّ الْأَسْوَدُ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ , وَرَوَاهُ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ , فَقَالَ : يَمُدُّ صَوْتَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ وَيَرْفَعُ .

أَخْبَرَنَا حَرَمِيُّ بْنُ يُونُسَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ زُبَيْدًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى و يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ و هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَإِذَا سَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " يَمُدُّ صَوْتَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُ " .

´It was narrated from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;' and "Say: O you disbelievers!'; and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One." And after he had said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy).
Hadith 4618
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُجَالِدِ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى : عَنِ السَّلَفِ , قَالَ : " كُنَّا نُسْلِفُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ , وَعُمَرَ فِي الْبُرِّ , وَالشَّعِيرِ , وَالتَّمْرِ إِلَى قَوْمٍ لَا أَدْرِي أَعِنْدَهُمْ أَمْ لَا " , وَابْنُ أَبْزَى , قَالَ : مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah Ibn Abi Awfa about paying in advance. He said:` 'We used to pay in advance during the time of the Messenger of Allah and Abu Bakr and 'Umar, for wheat, barley and dates, paying people whom we did not know if they had those things or not.'''Ibn Abza said meaning, similarly.
Hadith 4619
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ , قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الْمُجَالِدِ , وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ , وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : مُحَمَّدٌ , قَالَ : تَمَارَى أَبُو بُرْدَةَ , وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ فِي السَّلَمِ , فَأَرْسَلُونِي إِلَى ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى فَسَأَلْتُهُ , فَقَالَ : " كُنَّا نُسْلِمُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَعَلَى عَهْدِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , وَعَلَى عَهْدِ عُمَرَ فِي الْبُرِّ , وَالشَّعِيرِ , وَالزَّبِيبِ , وَالتَّمْرِ إِلَى قَوْمٍ مَا نُرَى عِنْدَهُمْ " , وَسَأَلْتُ ابْنَ أَبْزَى , فَقَالَ : مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
´Ibn Abi Al-Mujalid-on one occasion he (the narrator) said 'Abdullah, and on another occasion he said Muhammad - said:` "Abu Burdah and 'Abdullah bin Shaddad argued about payment in advance. They sent me to Ibn Abi Awfa and I asked him (about that). He said: 'We used to pay in advance during the time of the Messenger of Allah and Abu Bakr and 'Umar, for wheat, barley, raisins and dates, paying people whom we did not see it with them." And I asked Ibn Abza and he said something similar to that.

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ , قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ , عَنْ ذَرِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ , فَقَالَ : " اشْرَبْ الْمَاءَ , وَاشْرَبْ الْعَسَلَ , وَاشْرَبْ السَّوِيقَ , وَاشْرَبْ اللَّبَنَ الَّذِي نُجِعْتَ بِهِ " , فَعَاوَدْتُهُ , فَقَالَ : " الْخَمْرَ تُرِيدُ , الْخَمْرَ تُرِيدُ " .
´It was narrated from Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza that his father said:` "I asked Ubayy bin Ka'b about Nabidh, and he said: 'Drink water, drink honey, drink Sawiq (barley gruel) and drink milk that you have been nourished with since childhood.' I repeated the question and he said: 'Is it wine you want? Is it wine you want?'"
