Hadith 199
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ سُعَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْمَاءُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Ayyub that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Water is for Water." [1] [1] That is, water for peforming Ghusl is obligatory when the ejaculation of water (semen) occurs.
Hadith 1021
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِرَاءَةَ أَبِي مُوسَى فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ أُوتِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard the recitation of Abu Musa and said: 'This man has been given a Mizmar among the Mazamir of the family of Dawud, peace be upon him.'"
Hadith 1527
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَتَّابِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ أَمْسَكَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْمَطَرَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ خَمْسَ سِنِينَ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَهُ , لَأَصْبَحَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ كَافِرِينَ , يَقُولُونَ : سُقِينَا بِنَوْءِ الْمِجْدَحِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If Allah (SWT) were to withhold rain from His slaves for five years and then send it, some of the people would become disbelievers, saying: "We have been given rain by the star of Al-Mijdah."
Hadith 1858
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : قَصَّهُ لَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ " إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَزِيدُ الْكَافِرَ عَذَابًا بِبَعْضِ بُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ " .
´Ibn 'Abbas said:` "Aishah said: Rather the Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah, the Mighty and Sublime increases the punishment of the disbeliever due to some of his family's weeping for him."'
Hadith 1902
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، قال : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا ، يَقُولُ : " أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْرَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ وَقَدْ وُضِعَ فِي حُفْرَتِهِ فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ لَهُ فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَأَلْبَسَهُ قَمِيصَهُ وَنَفَثَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ رِيقِهِ " وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ .
´It was narrated from Sufyan, from 'Amr who said he heard Jabir say:` "The Prophet came to the grave of 'Abdullah bin Ubayy when he had been placed in his grave and stood over it. He commanded that he be brought out to him and placed on his knees, and he dressed him in his shirt and blew on him (for blessing). And Allah knows best."
Hadith 2602
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَعْطَانِي ، ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُهُ فَأَعْطَانِي ، ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُهُ فَأَعْطَانِي ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا حَكِيمُ , إِنَّ هَذَا الْمَالَ خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ ، فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ بِطِيبِ نَفْسٍ بُورِكَ لَهُ فِيهِ ، وَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ بِإِشْرَافِ نَفْسٍ ، لَمْ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ ، وَكَانَ كَالَّذِي يَأْكُلُ وَلَا يَشْبَعُ ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى " .
´It was narrated that Kakim bin Hizam said:` "I asked the Messenger of Allah and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me. Then he said: This wealth is attractive and sweet. Whoever takes it without insisting, it will be blessed for him, and whoever takes it with avarice, it will not be blessed for him. He is like one who eats and is not satisfied. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand."'
Hadith 3039
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ شَوَّالٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كُنَّا نُغَلِّسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ إِلَى مِنًى " .
´It was narrated that Umm Habibah said:` "We used to leave Jam Al-Muzdalifah for Mina at the end of the night, during the time of the Messenger of Allah."
Hadith 3160
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ ضَرَبْتُ بِسَيْفِي فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ صَابِرًا ، مُحْتَسِبًا ، مُقْبِلًا غَيْرَ مُدْبِرٍ ، حَتَّى أُقْتَلَ ، أَيُكَفِّرُ اللَّهُ عَنِّي خَطَايَايَ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَ دَعَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ يَقُولُ : إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ عَلَيْكَ دَيْنٌ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah that his father said:` "A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was on the Minbar and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, do you think that if I wield this sword of mine in the cause of Allah, with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy, and not running away, will Allah forgive my sins?' He said: 'Yes.' When he turned away, he called him back and said: 'Jibril says: unless you are in debt.'"
Hadith 3319
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيَّ عَمِّي أَفْلَحُ بَعْدَمَا نَزَلَ الْحِجَابُ ، فَلَمْ آذَنْ لَهُ ، فَأَتَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " ائْذَنِي لَهُ ، فَإِنَّهُ عَمُّكِ " , قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّمَا أَرْضَعَتْنِي الْمَرْأَةُ ، وَلَمْ يُرْضِعْنِي الرَّجُلُ ، قَالَ : " ائْذَنِي لَهُ تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكِ فَإِنَّهُ عَمُّكِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "My paternal uncle Aflah asked permission to enter upon me after the (Verse of) Hijab had been revealed, but I did not let him in. The Prophet came to me and I asked him (about that) and he said: 'Let him in, for he is your paternal uncle.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the woman breast-fed me, not the man.' He said: 'Let him in, may your hands be rubbed with dust, for he is your uncle.'"
Hadith 3738
أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ لَعَلَّهُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَا رُقْبَى فَمَنْ أُرْقِبَ شَيْئًا فَهُوَ سَبِيلُ الْمِيرَاثِ " .
´Zakariyya bin Yahya informed us, he said:` "Abdul-Jabbar bin Al-'Ala' narrated to us, he said: 'Sufyan narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih, from Tawus, and perhaps it is from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: There is no Ruqba, and whoever gives a gift on the basis of Ruqba, it is part of his estate.'"
Hadith 4292
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ ، أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah said:` "Whoever keeps a dog. Except a dog for hunting or herding livestock, two Qirats will be deducted from his reward each day."
Hadith 4770
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا عَضَّ يَدَ رَجُلٍ , فَانْتُزِعَتْ ثَنِيَّتُهُ ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فَأَهْدَرَهَا " .
´It was narrated from Safwan bin Ya'la, from his father, that:` a man bit the hand of another man and his front tooth fell out. He came to the Prophet but he considered it in vain.
Hadith 4771
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى ، عَنْ يَعْلَى . وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى ، عَنْ يَعْلَى أَنَّهُ اسْتَأْجَرَ أَجِيرًا ، فَقَاتَلَ رَجُلًا , فَعَضَّ يَدَهُ فَانْتُزِعَتْ ثَنِيَّتُهُ ، فَخَاصَمَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيَدَعُهَا يَقْضَمُهَا كَقَضْمِ الْفَحْلِ " .
´It was narrated from Ya'la that:` he hired a worker who fought with a man and bit his hand, and his from tooth fell out. So he referred the dispute to the Prophet who said: "Do you want to bite his hand as a stallion bites?"
Hadith 5340
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا ذُكِرَ ، فِي الْإِزَارِ مَا ذُكِرَ ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : فَكَيْفَ بِالنِّسَاءِ ؟ قَالَ : " يُرْخِينَ شِبْرًا " , قَالَتْ : إِذًا تَبْدُوَ أَقْدَامُهُنَّ ؟ قَالَ : " فَذِرَاعًا لَا يَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that:` When the Prophet [SAW] said what he said about the Izar, Umm Salamah said: "What about women?" He said: "Let it down a hand span." She said: "But then their feet will show." He said: "Then (let it down) a forearm's length, but no more than that."
