Hadith 2011
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَذْرَمِيُّ ، عَنْ حَكَّامِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّحْدُ لَنَا وَالشَّقُّ لِغَيْرِنَا " .
´It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Jubair that Ibn 'Abbas said:` The Messenger of Allah said: "The niche is for us and the ditch is for others." (Daif)
Hadith 4008
أَخْبَرَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمَنْبِجِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الثَّعْلِبِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ قَوْمًا كَانُوا قَتَلُوا فَأَكْثَرُوا ، وَزَنَوْا فَأَكْثَرُوا , وَانْتَهَكُوا ، فَأَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالُوا : يَا مُحَمَّدُ , إِنَّ الَّذِي تَقُولُ وَتَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ لَحَسَنٌ , لَوْ تُخْبِرُنَا أَنَّ لِمَا عَمِلْنَا كَفَّارَةً ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : وَالَّذِينَ لا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ إِلَى فَأُولَئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ حَسَنَاتٍ سورة الفرقان آية 68 - 70 . قَالَ : " يُبَدِّلُ اللَّهُ شِرْكَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَزِنَاهُمْ إِحْصَانًا " , وَنَزَلَتْ : قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ سورة الزمر آية 53 الْآيَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that :` Some people used to kill, and they did a great deal of it, and they used to commit adultery and they did a great deal of it, and they committed violations. They came to the Prophet [SAW] and said: "O Muhammad, what you say and call people to is good, if only you could tell us that there is any expiation for what we have done." Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: "And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah up to for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds," he said: "So Allah will change their Shirk into faith, and their adultery into chastity. And the Verse: "Say: O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)" was revealed.
Hadith 4779
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا وَقَعَ فِي أَبٍ كَانَ لَهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ , فَلَطَمَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ ، فَجَاءَ قَوْمُهُ ، فَقَالُوا : لَيَلْطِمَنَّهُ كَمَا لَطَمَهُ , فَلَبِسُوا السِّلَاحَ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ , أَيُّ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ تَعْلَمُونَ أَكْرَمُ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " ، فَقَالُوا : أَنْتَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ ، لَا تَسُبُّوا مَوْتَانَا ، فَتُؤْذُوا أَحْيَاءَنَا " ، فَجَاءَ الْقَوْمُ , فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ غَضَبِكَ اسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا .
´Ibn 'Abbad narrated that:` a man slandered one of his forefathers from the time of the Jahiliyyah, and Al-'Abbas slapped him. His people came and said: "Let him slap him as he slapped him," and they prepared for quarrel. News of that reached the Prophet, and he ascended the Minbar and said: "O People, which of the people of the Earth do you know to be the most noble before Allah?" They said: "You." He said: "Al-Abbas belongs to me and I to him. Do not defame our dead or offend our living." Those people came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we seek refuge with Allah from your anger; pray to give us."
