Hadith 209
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُبَيْدٍ وَهُوَ عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ آخِرِ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنِ اتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا لَا يَأْخُذُ عَلَى أَذَانِهِ أَجْرًا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ عُثْمَانَ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ كَرِهُوا أَنْ يَأْخُذَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ عَلَى الْأَذَانِ أَجْرًا وَاسْتَحَبُّوا لِلْمُؤَذِّنِ أَنْ يَحْتَسِبَ فِي أَذَانِهِ .
´Uthman bin Abi Al-As narrated:` "Indeed, amount the last (of orders) Allah's Messenger ordered me with was to employ a Mu'adh-dhin who would not take a wage for his Adhan."
Hadith 718
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صِيَامُ شَهْرٍ فَلْيُطْعَمْ عَنْهُ مَكَانَ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مِسْكِينًا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مَرْفُوعًا إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ، وَالصَّحِيحُ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ مَوْقُوفٌ قَوْلُهُ ، وَاخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِي هَذَا الْبَاب ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ ، يُصَامُ عَنِ الْمَيِّتِ ، وَبِهِ يَقُولُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَإِسْحَاق ، قَالَا : إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ نَذْرُ صِيَامٍ يَصُومُ عَنْهُ ، وَإِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاءُ رَمَضَانَ أَطْعَمَ عَنْهُ ، وقَالَ مَالِكٌ ، وَسُفْيَانُ ، وَالشَّافِعِيُّ : لَا يَصُومُ أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ ، قَالَ : وَأَشْعَثُ هُوَ ابْنُ سَوَّارٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ عِنْدِي ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى .
´Ibn Umar narrated that :` the Prophet said: "Whoever died while he had a month to fast, then a needy person should be fed on his behalf in place of every day."
Hadith 1105
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ : عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَالتَّشَهُّدَ فِي الْحَاجَةِ ، قَالَ : " التَّشَهُّدُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ : التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " ، وَالتَّشَهُّدُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ : " إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ ، وَنَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا وَسَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا ، فَمَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ ، وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، وَيَقْرَأُ ثَلَاثَ آيَاتٍ " . قَالَ عَبْثَرٌ : فَفَسَّرَهُ لَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ : اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ ، وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا ، اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، رَوَاهُ الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَرَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكِلَا الْحَدِيثَيْنِ صَحِيحٌ لِأَنَّ إِسْرَائِيلَ جَمَعَهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، وَأَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَدْ قَالَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ : إِنَّ النِّكَاحَ جَائِزٌ بِغَيْرِ خُطْبَةٍ ، وَهُوَ قَوْلُ : سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَغَيْرِهِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ .
´Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated:` "The Messenger of Allah taught us the Tashah-hud for Salat and the Tashah-hud for Al-Hajjah." He said: "The Tashah-hud for Salat is: (At-Tahiyyatulilah, was-walawtu wat-tayyibatu. As-Salamu alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullilahi wa barakatuhu, As-Salamu alina wa ala ibadillahis-salihin. Ashahadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduha wa Raduluh.) 'All greetings, prayers, and pure words are for Allah. Peace be upon you O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and all of the righteous worshippers of Allah. I testify that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah. and I testify that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger."And the Tashah-hud for Al-Hajjah is: 'Indeed all praise is due to Allah, we seek His aid, and we seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge with Allah from the evils of our souls and the mischief of our deeds. (Innal-Hamdlillahi nasta'inuhu, wa nastaghfirhu, wa na'udhu billahi min sharuri anfusina, wa sayy'ita a'malina, man yahdihi, sala mudilla lahu, wa manyudlil, fala Hadiya lahu, wa ashadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasuluh) 'Whoever He guides - meaning Allah - then here is none to lead him astray, and whomever He misleads, then there is no guide for him. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His worshipper and Messenger.'" He said: "And he recited three Ayat."
Hadith 1694
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ الْبَارِقِيِّ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْخَيْرُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِي الْخَيْلِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، الْأَجْرُ وَالْمَغْنَمُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَفِي الْبَاب ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، وَجَرِيرٍ ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ ، وَالْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، وَجَابِرٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَعُرْوَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْبَارِقِيُّ وَيُقَالُ : هُوَ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ ، قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ : وَفِقْهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ : أَنَّ الْجِهَادَ مَعَ كُلِّ إِمَامٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ .
‘Urwah al-Bariqi (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection; by goodness is meant reward and spoils.” 1. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is hasan sahih.
2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Ibn ‘Umar, Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, Jarir, Abu Hurairah, Asma’ bint Yazid, Mughirah ibn Shu‘bah, and Jabir (may Allah be pleased with them).
3- Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal says: The meaning of this hadith is that the command of jihad with every imam will remain until the Day of Resurrection.
1- This hadith is hasan sahih.

Hadith 2446
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَصِينٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُونُسَ كُوفِيٌّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ يَمُرُّ بِالنَّبِيِّ وَالنَّبِيَّيْنِ وَمَعَهُمُ الْقَوْمُ وَالنَّبِيِّ وَالنَّبِيَّيْنِ وَمَعَهُمُ الرَّهْطُ وَالنَّبِيِّ وَالنَّبِيَّيْنِ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ أَحَدٌ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِسَوَادٍ عَظِيمٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قِيلَ : مُوسَى وَقَوْمُهُ ، وَلَكَنِ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَانْظُرْ ، قَالَ : فَإِذَا سَوَادٌ عَظِيمٌ قَدْ سَدَّ الْأُفُقَ مِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ وَمِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ ، فَقِيلَ : هَؤُلَاءِ أُمَّتُكَ وَسِوَى هَؤُلَاءِ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ فَدَخَلَ ، وَلَمْ يَسْأَلُوهُ وَلَمْ يُفَسِّرْ لَهُمْ ، فَقَالُوا : نَحْنُ هُمْ ، وَقَالَ قَائِلُونَ : هُمْ أَبْنَاؤُنَا الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : هُمُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَكْتَوُونَ وَلَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ، فَقَامَ عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ فَقَالَ : أَنَا مِنْهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ : أَنَا مِنْهُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ : سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وفي الباب عن ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .
´Ibn 'Abbas narrated :` "When the Prophet (s.a.w) was taken for the Night Journey, he passed by a Prophet, and, some Prophets and with them were some people, and a Prophet, and some Prophets and with them was a group of people, and a Prophet, and some Prophets and with them there was no one. Until he passed by a large multitude. (The Prophet (s.a.w)said: ) I said: 'Who is this?' It was said: 'Musa and his people. But raise your head and look.' There was a large multitude that covered the horizon, from one side to the other. It was said: 'These people are your Ummah, and there are seventy thousand besides these from your Ummah that shall enter Paradise without a reckoning.' So he went inside, and they did not question him, and he gave no explanation to them. (Some of them) said: 'We are them.' Others said: 'They are the children who were born upon the Fitrah and Islam.' So the Prophet (s.a.w) came out and said: 'They are those who do not get themselves cauterized, nor seek Ruqyah, nor read omens, and upon their Lord they rely.' So 'Ukashah bin Mihsan stood and said: 'Am I among them O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Yes.' Then another one stood up and said: 'Am I among them?' So he said "Ukashah has preceded you to it.'" Other chains report similar narrations.
Hadith 2811
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَوَّارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ إِضْحِيَانٍ ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِلَى الْقَمَرِ وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ فَإِذَا هُوَ عِنْدِي أَحْسَنُ مِنَ الْقَمَرِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأَشْعَثِ .
´Narrated Jabir Bin Samurah:` "I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) on a clear night, so I looked at the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and at the moon, and he was wearing a red Hullah, and he looked better than the moon to me."
