Hadith 423
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ يُخَلِّلُ رَأْسَهُ بِأَصَابِعِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا خُيِّلَ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ قَدِ اسْتَبْرَأَ الْبَشَرَةَ غَرَفَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ سَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ0 performed Ghusl from Janabah, he would wash his hands, then perform Wudu' as for prayer, then run his fingers through his hair until he was sure the water had reached the scalp, then he would pour water over his head three times, then wash the rest of his body."
Hadith 424
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ دَعَا بِشَيْءٍ نَحْوِ الْحِلَابِ فَأَخَذَ بِكَفِّهِ بَدَأَ بِشِقِّ رَأْسِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ الْأَيْسَرِ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِكَفَّيْهِ ، فَقَالَ بِهِمَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed Ghusl from Janabah, he would call for something like a vessel used for milking a she-camel, then he would take (some water) in his hand and start with the right side of his head, then the left, then take (some water) in his hands and start pouring it on his head."
Hadith 427
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ أَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ الطُّهُورِ ؟ قَالَ : " خُذِي فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً فَتَوَضَّئِي بِهَا " . قَالَتْ : كَيْفَ أَتَوَضَّأُ بِهَا ؟ قَالَ : " تَوَضَّئِي بِهَا ، " قَالَتْ : كَيْفَ أَتَوَضَّأُ بِهَا ؟ قَالَتْ : ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبَّحَ وَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا ، فَفَطِنَتْ عَائِشَةُ لِمَا يُرِيدُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : فَأَخَذْتُهَا وَجَبَذْتُهَا إِلَيَّ فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِمَا يُرِيدُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah:` "A woman asked the Prophet (ﷺ): 'O Messenger of Allah, how should I perform Ghusl when I become pure?' He said: 'Take a piece of cotton wool scented with musk and clean yourself with it.' She said: 'How should I clean myself with it?' He said: 'Clean yourself with it.' She said: "How should I clean myself with it?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Subhan Allah!' and turned away from her." 'Aishah understood what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) meant, and said: "So I pulled her toward me and told her what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) meant."
Hadith 430
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would not perform Wudu' after Ghusl."
Hadith 431
أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، عَنْ بِشْرٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : قالت عَائِشَةُ " كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَطُوفُ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ مُحْرِمًا يَنْضَخُ طِيبًا " .
´'Aishah said:` "I used to put perfume on the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he would go around to all his wives, then enter Ihram in the morning with the smell of perfume coming from him."
Hadith 454
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " أَوَّلَ مَا فُرِضَتِ الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، فَأُقِرَّتْ صَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ وَأُتِمَّتْ صَلَاةُ الْحَضَرِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The first time the Salah was enjoined it was two Rak'ahs, and it remained as such when traveling, but the Salah while resident was made complete."
Hadith 455
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَعْلَبَكِّيُّ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ الزُّهْرِيَّ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ قَبْلَ الْهِجْرَةِ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَّلَ مَا فَرَضَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ أُتِمَّتْ فِي الْحَضَرِ أَرْبَعًا ، وَأُقِرَّتْ صَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ عَلَى الْفَرِيضَةِ الْأُولَى " .
´Abu 'Amr - meaning, Al-Awza'i - said that he asked Az-Zuhri about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Makkah before the Hijrah to Al-Madinah. He said:` "Urwah told me that 'Aishah said: 'Allah enjoined the salah upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and the first thing that He enjoined was two Rak'ahs at a time, then it was made complete four Rak'ahs while in the state of residence but the prayer when traveling remained two Rak'ahs, as it was first enjoined.'"
Hadith 456
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " فُرِضَتِ الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، فَأُقِرَّتْ صَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ وَزِيدَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْحَضَرِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Salah was enjoined two Rak'ahs at a time, then the Salah when traveling remained like that, but the Salah while resident was increased."
Hadith 473
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنْ أَكْتُبَ لَهَا مُصْحَفًا ، فَقَالَتْ : إِذَا بَلَغْتَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَآذِنِّي حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى سورة البقرة آية 238 ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتُهَا آذَنْتُهَا ، فَأَمْلَتْ عَلَيَّ : " حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ " . ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´It was narrated that Abu Yunus, the freed slave of 'Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), said:` "Aishah told me to copy a Mushaf for her, and she said: 'When you reach this verse, call my attention: Guard strictly the Salawat especially the middle (Al-Wusta) Salah. [1] When I reached it, I called her attention and she dictated to me: 'Guard strictly the Salawat expecially the middle (Al-Wusta) Salah and the 'Asr prayer, and stand before Allah with obedience.' Then she said: 'I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).'" [1] Al-Baqarah 2:238.
Hadith 483
أَخْبَرَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نَصْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى نَادَاهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ غَيْرَكُمْ " . وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَحَدٌ يُصَلِّي غَيْرَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delayed 'Isha' until 'Umar called him and said: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out and said: 'There is no one who is offering this prayer but you.' And at that time no one used to pray except the people of Al-Madinah."
Hadith 506
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ وَالشَّمْسُ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا لَمْ يَظْهَرِ الْفَيْءُ مِنْ حُجْرَتِهَا " .
It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed 'Asr when the sun was in her room and the shadow had not appeared on her wall.
Hadith 536
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ حِمْيَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً بِالْعَتَمَةِ ، فَنَادَاهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ : مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا غَيْرُكُمْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يُصَلِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " صَلُّوهَا فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ " وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ حِمْيَرٍ .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delayed A;-'Atamah one night, and 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, called out to him: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out and said: 'No one is waiting for it except you.' At that time no prayer was offered except in Al-Madinah. Then he said: 'Pray it between the time when the twilight disappears and when one-third of the night has passed.'"
Hadith 537
أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قال : قال ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، ح وأَخْبَرَنِي يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومِ ابْنَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، قالت : أَعْتَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ عَامَّةُ اللَّيْلِ وَحَتَّى نَامَ أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَوَقْتُهَا ، لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah the Mother of the Believers said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) delayed the prayer one night until most of the night had passed and the people in the Masjid had gone home to sleep, then he went out and prayed, and said: 'This is indeed its (prayer) time, were it not that I would impose too much difficulty on my Ummah.'"
Hadith 546
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَيُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ فَيَنْصَرِفُ النِّسَاءُ مُتَلَفِّعَاتٍ بِمُرُوطِهِنَّ مَا يُعْرَفْنَ مِنَ الْغَلَسِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has prayed Subh, the women would depart, wrapped in their wrappers, unrecognizable because of the darkness."
Hadith 547
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " كُنَّ النِّسَاءُ يُصَلِّينَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ مُتَلَفِّعَاتٍ بِمُرُوطِهِنَّ ، فَيَرْجِعْنَ فَمَا يَعْرِفُهُنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْغَلَسِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The women used to pray Subh with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), wrapped in their wrappers, then they would return, and no one would recognize them because of the darkness."
Hadith 552
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الْفَجْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا ، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا " .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Whoever catches up with a Rak'ah of Fajr before the sun rises, then he has caught up with it; and whoever catches up with a Rak'ah of 'Asr before the sun sets, then he has caught up with it."
Hadith 575
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، قال : قالت عَائِشَةُ : " مَا تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ عِنْدِي قَطُّ " .
´It was narrated that Hisham said:` "My father told me: 'Aishah said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never neglected to pray two Rak'ahs after 'Asr in my house.'"
Hadith 576
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، قال : قالت عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا " مَا دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ إِلَّا صَلَّاهُمَا " .
´It was narrated that Al-Aswad said:` 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never entered upon me after 'Asr but he prayed them (the two Rak'ahs)."
Hadith 577
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ مَسْرُوقًا ، وَالْأَسْوَدَ ، قَالَا : نَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدِي بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ صَلَّاهُمَا " .
´It was narrated that Abu Ishaq said:` "I heard Masruq and Al-Aswad say: We bear witness that 'Aishah said: 'When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was with me after 'Asr, he would pray them (these two Rak'ahs).'"
Hadith 578
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " صَلَاتَانِ مَا تَرَكَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِي سِرًّا وَلَا عَلَانِيَةً : رَكْعَتَانِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ وَرَكْعَتَانِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "There are two prayers that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never neglected to pray them in my house secretly nor publicly: Two Rak'ahs before Fajr and two Rak'ahs after 'Asr."
Hadith 579
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَرْمَلَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّيهِمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ، فَقَالَتْ : " إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّيهِمَا قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ شُغِلَ عَنْهُمَا أَوْ نَسِيَهُمَا فَصَلَّاهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ، وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً أَثْبَتَهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Salamah that he asked 'Aishah about the two prostrations (Rak'ahs) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray after 'Asr. She said:` "He used to pray them before 'Asr, but if he got distracted or forgot them, he would pray them after 'Asr, and if he did a prayer he would be constant in it."
Hadith 640
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ ، قَالَتْ : وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَصْعَدَ هَذَا " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: 'Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the Adhan." She said: "And there was no more between than the time it takes for one to come down and the other to go up."
Hadith 686
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، وَيُونُسُ ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، يُسَلِّمُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَيُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَيَسْجُدُ سَجْدَةً قَدْرَ مَا يَقْرَأُ أَحَدُكُمْ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً ، ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ ، فَإِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُ الْفَجْرُ ، رَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالْإِقَامَةِ ، فَيَخْرُجُ مَعَهُ " . وَبَعْضُهُمْ يَزِيدُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الْحَدِيثِ .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "Between the time when he finished 'Isha' prayer and Fajr, the Prophet (S.A.W) used to pray eleven Rak'ahs, saying the Taslim after each two Rak'ahs, then praying Witr as one Rak'ah. He would prostrate for as long as it takes one of you to recite fifty verses, then he would raise his head. When the Mu'adhdhin finished the call to Fajr prayer and he could see the dawn, he would pray two brief Rak'ahs, then he would go out with him." Some of these narrators (Ibn Abi Dhi'b, Yunus and 'Amr bin Al-Harith) added some phrases not mentioned by the others in the Hadith.
Hadith 704
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، وَيُونُسَ ، قَالَا : قال الزُّهْرِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَا : لَمَّا نُزِلَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَطَفِقَ يَطْرَحُ خَمِيصَةً لَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَإِذَا اغْتَمَّ كَشَفَهَا عَنْ وَجْهِهِ ، قال وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ " لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ ، وَالنَّصَارَى ، اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ " .
´'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah reported that 'Aishah and Ibn 'Abbas said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was on his deathbed, he had a Khamisah over his face. When his temperature rose, he would uncover his face. When his temperature rose, he would uncover his face. While he was like that he said: 'May Allah curse the Jews and Christians, for they took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.'"
Hadith 705
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ ، وَأُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ذَكَرَتَا كَنِيسَةً رَأَتَاهَا بِالْحَبَشَةِ فِيهَا تَصَاوِيرُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ إِذَا كَانَ فِيهِمُ الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ فَمَاتَ ، بَنَوْا عَلَى قَبْرِهِ مَسْجِدًا ، وَصَوَّرُوا تِيكِ الصُّوَرَ ، أُولَئِكَ شِرَارُ الْخَلْقِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that Umm Habibah and Umm Salamah mentioned a church that they had seen in Ethiopia, in which there were images. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "Those people, if there was a righteous man among them, when he died they built a place of worship over his grave and made those images. They will be the most evil of creation before Allah on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 710
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فِي الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ فِيهِ ، فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، فَأَمَرَ فَضُرِبَ لَهُ خِبَاءٌ ، وَأَمَرَتْ حَفْصَةُ فَضُرِبَ لَهَا خِبَاءٌ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ زَيْنَبُ خِبَاءَهَا أَمَرَتْ فَضُرِبَ لَهَا خِبَاءٌ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " آلْبِرَّ تُرِدْنَ ؟ " فَلَمْ يَعْتَكِفْ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَاعْتَكَفَ عَشْرًا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wanted to observe I'tikaf, [2] he would pray Fajr then enter the place where he wnated to observe I'tikaf. He wanted to observe I'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan, so he commanded that a Khiba' (tent) be pitched for him. Then Hafsah ordered that a Khiba' be pitched for her, and when Zainab saw her tent she ordered that a Khiba' be pitched for her too. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw that he said: 'Is it righteousness that you seek?' And he did not observe I'tikaf in Ramadan, and observed I'tikaf for ten days in Shawwal (instead)." [1] Al-Khiba': "One of the house of the Bedouins made of Wabir (camel or goat fur) or wool, not of hair (from other pelts). And it would have two or three posts." (An-Nihayah) [2] Seclusion in the Masjid for the sake of devotion to Allah.
Hadith 711
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : أُصِيبَ سَعْدٌ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ رَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ رَمْيَةً فِي الْأَكْحَلِ " فَضَرَبَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْمَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لِيَعُودَهُ مِنْ قَرِيبٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "Sa'd was wounded on the day of Al-Khandaq [1] when a man of Quraish shot him in the medial arm vein. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) pitched a tent (Khaimah) for him in the Masjid so that he could visit him close at hand." [1] Al-Khandaq means the trench. This indicates the battle of the trench which took place during the fifth year after Hijrah.
Hadith 747
أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قالت : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ عَنْ سُتْرَةِ الْمُصَلِّي ، فَقَالَ : " مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ " .
´It was narrated that Aisha(ra) said:` "The messenger of Allah(ﷺ) was asked during the campaign of Tabuk about the Sutra of one who is praying. He said: "Something as high as the back of a camel saddle."
Hadith 756
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قالت : " كُنْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، فَإِذَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ فَأَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ انْسَلَلْتُ انْسِلَالًا " .
´It was narrated that Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said:` "I was in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was praying, and when I wanted to leave I did not want to get up and pass in front of him, so I just slipped away slowly and quietly."
Hadith 760
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا رَاقِدَةٌ مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ ، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُوتِرَ أَيْقَظَنِي فَأَوْتَرْتُ " .
´It was narrated that Aisha said:` "The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)used to pray at night while I was lying down sleeping between him and the Qibla on his bed. When he wanted to pray witr he would wake me up and I would pray witr"
Hadith 762
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ فِي بَيْتِي ثَوْبٌ فِيهِ تَصَاوِيرُ فَجَعَلْتُهُ إِلَى سَهْوَةٍ فِي الْبَيْتِ ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ أَخِّرِيهِ عَنِّي " ، فَنَزَعْتُهُ فَجَعَلْتُهُ وَسَائِدَ .
´It was narrated that Aisha said:` "In my house there was a cloth on which there were images, which I covered a closet which is in the house, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray toward it. Then he said: '0 Aisha, take it away from me.' So I removed it and made pillows out of it."
Hadith 763
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَصِيرَةٌ يَبْسُطُهَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَيَحْتَجِرُهَا بِاللَّيْلِ فَيُصَلِّي فِيهَا ، فَفَطَنَ لَهُ النَّاسُ فَصَلَّوْا بِصَلَاتِهِ وَبَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُمُ الْحَصِيرَةُ ، فَقَالَ : " اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا ، وَإِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ " ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَ مُصَلَّاهُ ذَلِكَ فَمَا عَادَ لَهُ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَكَانَ إِذَا عَمِلَ عَمَلًا أَثْبَتَهُ .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had a mat which he would spread in the day and make into a small booth at night to pray in it. The people found out about that and they prayed when he prayed, with the mat in between him and them. He said: 'Do as much of good deeds as you can, for Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) until you get tired. And the most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are continuous, even if they are few.' Then he stopped that prayer and did not return to it until Allah took him (in death), and if he started to do something he would persist in it."
Hadith 769
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا إِلَى جَنْبِهِ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَعَلَيَّ مِرْطٌ بَعْضُهُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´It was narrated that Aisha said:` "The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)used to pray at night when I was beside him and I was menstruating, and there was a garment over me, part of which was over Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)"
Hadith 772
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي خَمِيصَةٍ لَهَا أَعْلَامٌ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " شَغَلَتْنِي أَعْلَامُ هَذِهِ ، اذْهَبُوا بِهَا إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمٍ وَأْتُونِي بِأَنْبِجَانِيِّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Aisha (ra) that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)prayed in a khamisah that had markings, then he said:` "These markings distracted me. Take it to Abu Jahm and bring me his Anbijani (a woolen garment with no markings)."
Hadith 774
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ صُبْحٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ خِلَاسَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ " كُنْتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ فِي الشِّعَارِ الْوَاحِدِ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ طَامِثٌ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ غَسَلَ مَا أَصَابَهُ لَمْ يَعْدُهُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ وَصَلَّى فِيهِ ، ثُمَّ يَعُودُ مَعِي فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَعْدُهُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ " .
´Khilas bin 'Amr said:` "I heard Aisha (ra) say: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abii Al-Qbim, and I were beneath a single blanket, and I was menstruating. If something got on him from me, he would wash whatever had got on him and he did not wash anywhere else, and he prayed in it then came back to me.And if anything got on him from me,he would do exactly the same and he did not wash anywhere else."'
Hadith 787
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى صَاحِبُ الْبُصْرَى ، قال : سَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ يَذْكُرُ ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا " أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ صَلَّى لِلنَّاسِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّفِّ " .
It was narrated from Aisha that Abu Bakr led the people in prayer and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)was in the row.
Hadith 798
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ قَالَتْ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَصَلَّى قَاعِدًا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Aisha may Allah be pleased with her, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. She said:` "The Prophet was in front of Abu Bakr and he prayed sitting down, and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer, and the people were behind Abu Bakr."
Hadith 834
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قالت : لَمَّا ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : جَاءَ بِلَالٌ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ : " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَجُلٌ أَسِيفٌ وَإِنَّهُ مَتَى يَقُومُ فِي مَقَامِكَ لَا يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ فَلَوْ أَمَرْتَ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ : " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " فَقُلْتُ لِحَفْصَةَ قُولِي لَهُ فَقَالَتْ : لَهُ فَقَالَ : إِنَّكُنَّ لَأَنْتُنَّ صَوَاحِبَاتُ يُوسُفَ مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ قَالَتْ فَأَمَرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ خِفَّةً قَالَتْ : فَقَامَ يُهَادَى بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ وَرِجْلَاهُ تَخُطَّانِ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ سَمِعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حِسَّهُ فَذَهَبَ لِيَتَأَخَّرَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ قُمْ كَمَا أَنْتَ قَالَتْ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى قَامَ عَنْ يَسَارِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ جَالِسًا فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ جَالِسًا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ قَائِمًا يَقْتَدِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالنَّاسُ يَقْتَدُونَ بِصَلَاةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ " .
´It was narrated that Aisha said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) became seriously ill, Bilal came to tell him it was time to pray and he said: 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."' She said: "I said: '0 Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man, and when he stands in your place he will not be able to make the people hear his voice; why don't you tell 'Umar (to do it)?' He said: 'Tell a Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer.' I said to Hafsah: 'Tell him.' So she told him. He said: 'You are (like) the female companions of Yosuf. Tell Abu Bakr lead the people in prayer."' She said: "So they told Abu Bakr. When he started to pray, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) began to feel better, so he got up and came with the help of two men, with his feet dragging along the ground. (When) he entered the Masjid, Abu Bakr heard him coming and he wanted to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gestured to him: 'Stay where you are.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came and sat on Abu Bakr's left, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was leading the people in prayer sitting, and Abu Bakr was standing and following the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him."
Hadith 835
أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قال : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ : أَلَا تُحَدِّثِينِي عَنْ مَرَضِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ : لَمَّا ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ " فَقُلْنَا : لَا وَهُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ : " ضَعُوا لِي مَاءً فِي الْمِخْضَبِ " فَفَعَلْنَا فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ لِيَنُوءَ فَأُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ فَقَالَ : " أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ " قُلْنَا : لَا هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ : " ضَعُوا لِي مَاءً فِي الْمِخْضَبِ " فَفَعَلْنَا فَاغْتَسَلَ ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ لِيَنُوءَ ، ثُمَّ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : فِي الثَّالِثَةِ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ قَالَتْ : وَالنَّاسُ عُكُوفٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِصَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنْ صَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ فَجَاءَهُ الرَّسُولُ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَجُلًا رَقِيقًا فَقَالَ : يَا عُمَرُ صَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ فَقَالَ : أَنْتَ أَحَقُّ بِذَلِكَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ تِلْكَ الْأَيَّامَ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَدَ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ خِفَّةً فَجَاءَ يُهَادَى بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا الْعَبَّاسُ لِصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ذَهَبَ لِيَتَأَخَّرَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ لَا يَتَأَخَّرَ وَأَمَرَهُمَا فَأَجْلَسَاهُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَجَعَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي قَائِمًا وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلَاةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ أَلَا أَعْرِضُ عَلَيْكَ مَا حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ عَنْ مَرَضِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : نَعَمْ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ فَمَا أَنْكَرَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَسَمَّتْ لَكَ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي كَانَ مَعَ الْعَبَّاسِ قُلْتُ : لَا ، قَالَ : هُوَ عَلِيٌّ كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ .
´It was narrated that 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah said:` "I entered upon Aisha and said: 'Will you not tell me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?' She said: 'When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), became seriously ill, he said: "Have the people prayed?" We said: "No, they are waiting for you, 0 Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)" He said: "Put some water in a tub for me." We did that and he performed Ghusl, then he tried to get up but he fainted. Then he came to us and said: "Have the people prayed?" We said: "No, they are waiting for you, 0 Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)." He said: "Put some water in a tub for me." We did that and he performed Ghusl, then he tried to get up but he fainted. Then for the third time he said the same thing. She said: The people were in the Masjid, waiting for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to lead the prayer. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent word to Abu Bakr, telling him to lead the people in prayer, so the messenger came to him and said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is telling you to lead the people in prayer." Abu Bakr was a tenderhearted man, he said: "0 'Umar. lead the in prayer." But ('Umar) said: "You have more right to that." So Abu Bakr led them in prayer during those days. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) felt a little better, he came with the help of two men, one of whom was Al-'Abbas, to pray Zuhr. When Abu Bakr saw him, he wanted to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gestured to him not to step back. He told them (the two men) to seat him beside Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr started to pray standing. The people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was praying sitting."' "I ('Ubaidullah) entered upon Ibn Abbas and said 'Shall I not tell you what Aisha narrated to me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?' He said: 'Yes.' So I told him and he did not deny any of it, but he said: 'Did she tell you the name of the man who was with Al-'Abbas?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'That was Ali, may Allah honor his face."'
Hadith 840
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَاةُ الْجَمَاعَةِ تَزِيدُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْفَذِّ خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ دَرَجَةً " .
´It was narrated from that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Prayer in congregation is twenty-five levels better than a prayer offered on one's own."
