Hadith 1333
وحدثناه أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حدثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، حدثنا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحِجْرِ ، وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ : فَقُلْتُ فَمَا شَأْنُ بَابِهِ مُرْتَفِعًا لَا يُصْعَدُ إِلَيْهِ إِلَّا بِسُلَّمٍ ، وَقَالَ : مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تَنْفِرَ قُلُوبُهُمْ .
'A'isha reported: I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about Hijr, and the rest of the hadith is the same. I also said: Why is it that the door has been made on a higher level, and one cannot (get into it) but with the help of a ladder? The rest of the hadith is the same as reported above and the concluding words are: (I do not change it) out of the apprehension that their hearts may disapprove of it.
Hadith 1348
حدثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالا : حدثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يُونُسَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ ، يَقُولُ : عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، قَالَ : قَالَت عَائِشَةُ : إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ أَنْ يُعْتِقَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ عَبْدًا مِنَ النَّارِ مِنْ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَدْنُو ، ثُمَّ يُبَاهِي بِهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ ، فَيَقُولُ : مَا أَرَادَ هَؤُلَاءِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels, saying: What do these want?
Hadith 1376
وحدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حدثنا عَبْدَةُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ وَهِيَ وَبِيئَةٌ ، فَاشْتَكَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَاشْتَكَى بِلَالٌ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَكْوَى أَصْحَابِهِ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ كَمَا حَبَّبْتَ مَكَّةَ ، أَوْ أَشَدَّ وَصَحِّحْهَا ، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِهَا ، وَمُدِّهَا ، وَحَوِّلْ حُمَّاهَا إِلَى الْجُحْفَةِ " ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: When we came to Madinah, and it was an unhealthy, uncogenial place, Abu Bakr (RA) fell sick and Bilal (RA) also fell sick; and when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saw the illness of his Companions he said: O Allah, make Madinah as congenial to us as you made Makkah congenial or more than that; make it conducive to health, and bless us in its sa' and in its mudd, and transfer its fever to al-Juhfa.
Hadith 1420
حدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حدثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ . ح وحدثنا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، جميعا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ رَافِعٍ : حدثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ ذَكْوَانُ مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ ، سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ يُنْكِحُهَا أَهْلُهَا ، أَتُسْتَأْمَرُ أَمْ لَا ؟ فقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ ، تُسْتَأْمَرُ " ، فقَالَت عَائِشَةُ : فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : فَإِنَّهَا تَسْتَحْيِي ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَذَلِكَ إِذْنُهَا إِذَا هِيَ سَكَتَتْ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about a virgin whose marriage is solemnised by her guardian, whether it was necessary or not to consult her. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Yes, she must be consulted. 'A'isha reported: I told him that she feels shy, whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Her silence implies her consent.
Hadith 1422
حدثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، حدثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ . ح وحدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِي ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِسِتِّ سِنِينَ ، وَبَنَى بِي وَأَنَا بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ " ، قَالَت : فَقَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَوُعِكْتُ شَهْرًا فَوَفَى شَعْرِي جُمَيْمَةً ، فَأَتَتْنِي أُمُّ رُومَانَ ، وَأَنَا عَلَى أُرْجُوحَةٍ وَمَعِي صَوَاحِبِي ، فَصَرَخَتْ بِي فَأَتَيْتُهَا ، وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا تُرِيدُ بِي ، فَأَخَذَتْ بِيَدِي فَأَوْقَفَتْنِي عَلَى الْبَابِ ، فَقُلْتُ : هَهْ هَهْ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ نَفَسِي ، فَأَدْخَلَتْنِي بَيْتًا ، فَإِذَا نِسْوَةٌ مِن الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَقُلْنَ عَلَى الْخَيْرِ وَالْبَرَكَةِ وَعَلَى خَيْرِ طَائِرٍ ، فَأَسْلَمَتْنِي إِلَيْهِنَّ ، فَغَسَلْنَ رَأْسِي وَأَصْلَحْنَنِي ، فَلَمْ يَرُعْنِي إِلَّا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضُحًى ، فَأَسْلَمْنَنِي إِلَيْهِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house at the age of nine. She further said: We went to Madinah and I had an attack of fever for a month, and my hair had come down to the earlobes. Umm Ruman (my mother) came to me and I was at that time on a swing along with my playmates. She called me loudly and I went to her and I did not know what she had wanted of me. She took hold of my hand and took me to the door, and I was saying: Ha, ha (as if I was gasping), until the agitation of my heart was over. She took me to a house, where had gathered the women of the Ansar. They all blessed me and wished me good luck and said: May you have share in good. She (my mother) entrusted me to them. They washed my head and embellished me and nothing frightened me. Allah's Messenger ( may peace be upon him) came there in the morning, and I was entrusted to him.
Hadith 1422
وحدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ . ح وحدثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ : حدثنا عَبْدَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " تَزَوَّجَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا بِنْتُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ ، وَبَنَى بِي وَأَنَا بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old.
Hadith 1422
وحدثنا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزَوَّجَهَا وَهِيَ بِنْتُ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ ، وَزُفَّتْ إِلَيْهِ وَهِيَ بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ ، وَلُعَبُهَا مَعَهَا وَمَاتَ عَنْهَا وَهِيَ بِنْتُ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) married her when she was seven years old, and she was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when she (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.
Hadith 1422
وحدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَإِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : وَإِسْحَاقَ : أَخْبَرَنا ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حدثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " تَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ بِنْتُ سِتٍّ ، وَبَنَى بِهَا وَهِيَ بِنْتُ تِسْعٍ ، وَمَاتَ عَنْهَا وَهِيَ بِنْتُ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) married her when she was six years old, and she was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old
Hadith 1423
حدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِزُهَيْرٍ ، قَالَا : حدثنا وَكِيعٌ ، حدثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شَوَّالٍ ، وَبَنَى بِي فِي شَوَّالٍ ، فَأَيُّ نِسَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ أَحْظَى عَنْدَهُ مِنِّي " ، قَالَ : وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ تُدْخِلَ نِسَاءَهَا فِي شَوَّالٍ ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) contracted marriage with me in Shawwal and took me to his house as a bride during Shawwal. And who among the wives of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was dearer to him than I, and' A'isha liked that the women (of her family) should enter the houses as brides during the month of Shawwal.
Hadith 1426
حدثنا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ : حدثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَمْ كَانَ صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَت : " كَانَ صَدَاقُهُ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشًّا " ، قَالَت : أَتَدْرِي مَا النَّشُّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : لَا ، قَالَت : نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ ، فَتِلْكَ خَمْسُ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ ، فَهَذَا صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ .
Abu Salama bin 'Abdul Rahman reported: I asked 'A'isha, the wife of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : What is the amount of dower of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ? She said: It was twelve 'uqiyas and one nash. She said: Do you know what is al-nash? I said: No. She said: It is half of uqiya, and it amounts to five hundred dirhams, and that was the dower given by Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) to his wives.
Hadith 1433
حدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَمْرٍو ، قَالَا : حدثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ رِفَاعَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : كُنْتُ عَنْدَ رِفَاعَةَ ، فَطَلَّقَنِي ، فَبَتَّ طَلَاقِي ، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزَّبِيرِ ، وَإِنَّ مَا مَعَهُ مِثْلُ هُدْبَةِ الثَّوْبِ ، فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَ : " أَتُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ ؟ لَا ، حَتَّى تَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ ، وَيَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ " ، قَالَت : وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْدَهُ وَخَالِدٌ بِالْبَابِ يَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَهُ ، فَنَادَى : يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، أَلَا تَسْمَعُ هَذِهِ مَا تَجْهَرُ بِهِ عَنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ .
'A'isha (Allah he pleased with her) reported: There came the wife of Rifa'a to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said: I was married to Rifa'a but he divorced me, making may divorce irrevocable. Afterwards I married Abdul Rahman bin al-Zubair, but all he possesses is like the fringe of a garment (i. e. he is sexually weak). Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) smiled, and said: Do you wish to return to Rifa'a. (You) cannot (do it) until you have tasted his sweetness and he ('Abdul Rahman) has tasted your sweetness. Abu Bakr (RA) was at that time near him (the Holy Prophet) and Khalid (b. Sa'id) was at the door waiting for the permission to be granted to him to enter). He (Khalid) said; Abu Bakr, do you hear what she is saying loudly in the presence of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ?
Hadith 1433
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَرْمَلَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ : حدثنا ، وَقَالَ حَرْمَلَةُ : أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ : أَنَّ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيَّ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ، فَبَتَّ طَلَاقَهَا ، فَتَزَوَّجَتْ بَعْدَهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزَّبِيرِ ، فَجَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ رِفَاعَةَ ، فَطَلَّقَهَا آخِرَ ثَلَاثِ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ ، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ بَعْدَهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزَّبِيرِ ، وَإِنَّهُ وَاللَّهِ مَا مَعَهُ إِلَّا مِثْلُ الْهُدْبَةِ ، وَأَخَذَتْ بِهُدْبَةٍ مِنْ جِلْبَابِهَا ، قَالَ : فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَاحِكًا ، فقَالَ : " لَعَلَّكِ تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ ؟ لَا ، حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ ، وَتَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ " ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ جَالِسٌ عَنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَخَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ جَالِسٌ بِبَابِ الْحُجْرَةِ ، لَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ ، قَالَ : فَطَفِقَ خَالِدٌ ، يُنَادِي : أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، أَلَا تَزْجُرُ هَذِهِ عَمَّا تَجْهَرُ بِهِ عَنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) , reported that Rifa'a al-Quraid (RA) divorced his wife, making her divorce irrevocable. Afterwards she married Abdul Rahman bin al-Zubair (RA) . She came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said to Allah's messenger (ﷺ) that she had been the wife of Rifa'a (RA) and he had divorced her by three pronouncements and afterwards she married 'Abdul Rahman bin al-Zubair. By Allah, all he possesses is like the fringe of a garment, and she took hold of the fringe of her garment. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) laughed and said: Perhaps you wish to return to Rifa'a, (but you) cannot (do it) until he has tasted your sweetness and you have tasted his sweetness. Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (RA) was sitting at that time with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Khalid bin Sa'id bin al-'As (RA) was sitting at the door of his apartment and he was not permitted to (enter the room), and Khalid called loudly saying: Abu Bakr, why don't you scold her for what she is saying loudly in the presence of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ?
Hadith 1433
حدثنا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيَّ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الزَّبِيرِ ، فَجَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ رِفَاعَةَ طَلَّقَهَا آخِرَ ثَلَاثِ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ .
'A'isha (Allah bjpl'eased with her) reported that Rifa'a al Qurazi divorced his wife and afterwards Abdul Rahman bin al-Zubair married her. She came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, Rifa'a has divorced me by three pronouncements. (The rest of the hadith is the same.)
Hadith 1433
حدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حدثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا الرَّجُلُ ، فَيُطَلِّقُهَا فَتَتَزَوَّجُ رَجُلًا ، فَيُطَلِّقُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا أَتَحِلُّ لِزَوْجِهَا الْأَوَّلِ ، قَالَ : " لَا حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهَا " ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked about a woman whom a man married and then divorced her, and then she married (another) person, and she was divorced before sexual intercourse with her, whether it was lawful for her first husband (to marry her in this state). He (the Holy Prophet) said: No, until he has tasted her sweetness.
Hadith 1433
حدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حدثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : طَلَّقَ رَجُلٌ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا رَجُلٌ ، ثُمَّ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا ، فَأَرَادَ زَوْجُهَا الْأَوَّلُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَسُئِلَ َرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فقَالَ : " لَا ، حَتَّى يَذُوقَ الْآخِرُ مِنْ عُسَيْلَتِهَا مَا ذَاقَ الْأَوَّلُ " ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: A person divorced his wife by three pronouncements; then another person married her and he also divorced her without having sexual intercourse with her. Then the first husband of her intended to remarry her. It was about such a case that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked, whereupon he said: No, until the second one has tasted her sweetness as the first one had tasted.
Hadith 1433
وحدثناه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حدثنا أَبِي . ح وحدثناه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حدثنا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، حدثنا الْقَاسِمُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ .
A hadith like this has been narrated on the same chain of transmitters by 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 1442
وحدثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حدثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ . ح وحدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ جُدَامَةَ بِنْتِ وَهْبٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغِيلَةِ حَتَّى ذَكَرْتُ أَنَّ الرُّومَ ، وَفَارِسَ يَصْنَعُونَ ذَلِكَ ، فَلَا يَضُرُّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ " ، قَالَ مُسْلِم : وَأَمَّا خَلَفٌ ، فقَالَ : عَنْ جُذَامَةَ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ ، وَالصَّحِيحُ : مَا قَالَهُ يَحْيَى بِالدَّالِ .
Judaima daughter of Wahb al-Asadiyya (Allah be pleased with her) reported that she heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) assaying: I intended to prohibit cohabitation with a suckling woman until I considered that the Romans and the Persians do it without any injury being caused to their children thereby. (Imam Muslim said: Khalaf reported it from Judamat al-'Asadiyya, but the correct wording is what has been stated by Yahya.)
Hadith 1442
حدثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عمر ، قَالَا : حدثنا الْمُقْرِئُ ، حدثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ جُدَامَةَ بِنْتِ وَهْبٍ أُخْتِ عُكَّاشَةَ ، قَالَت : حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أُنَاسٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغِيلَةِ ، فَنَظَرْتُ فِي الرُّومِ ، وَفَارِسَ ، فَإِذَا هُمْ يُغِيلُونَ أَوْلَادَهُمْ ، فَلَا يَضُرُّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا " ، ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ذَلِكَ الْوَأْدُ الْخَفِيُّ " ، زَادَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ، عَنِ الْمُقْرِئِ ، وَهِيَ : وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ سورة التكوير آية 8 ،
Judama daughter of Wahb, sister of Ukkasha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: I went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) along with some persons and he was saying: I intended to prohibit cohabitation with the suckling women, but I considered the Greeks and Persians, and saw that they suckle their children and this thing (cohabitation) does not do any harm to them (to the suckling women). Then they asked him about 'azl, whereupon he said. That is the secret (way of) burying alive, and Ubaidullah has made this addition in the hadith transmitted by al-Muqri and that is: "When the one buried alive is asked."
Hadith 1442
وحدثناه أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ جُدَامَةَ بِنْتِ وَهْبٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَت : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ فِي الْعَزْلِ وَالْغِيلَةِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : الْغِيَالِ .
Judama bint Wahb al-Asadiyya (Allah be pleased with her) reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying this. The rest of the hadith is the same concerning 'azl and ghila (cohabitating with a suckling woman), but with a slight variation of words.
Hadith 1444
حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهَا : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ عَنْدَهَا ، وَإِنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ صَوْتَ رَجُلٍ يَسْتَأْذِنُ فِي بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ ، قَالَت عَائِشَةُ : فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَذَا رَجُلٌ يَسْتَأْذِنُ فِي بَيْتِكَ ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُرَاهُ فُلَانًا لِعَمِّ حَفْصَةَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ " ، فقَالَت عَائِشَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوْ كَانَ فُلَانٌ حَيًّا لِعَمِّهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ ، إِنَّ الرَّضَاعَةَ تُحَرِّمُ مَا تُحَرِّمُ الْوِلَادَةُ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported tha Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was with her and she heard the voice of a person seeking permission to enter the house of Hafsa. 'A'isha (Allah he pleased with her) said: Allah's Messenger, he is the person who seeks permission to enter your house, whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: I think he is so and so (uncle of Hafsa by reason of fosterage). 'A'isha said: Messenger of Allah, if so and so (her uncle by reason of fosterage) were alive, could he enter my house? Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Yes. Fosterage makes unlawful what consanguinity makes unlawful.
Hadith 1444
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حدثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْهُذَلِيُّ ، حدثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمِ بْنِ الْبَرِيدِ ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلَادَةِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Fosterage makes unlawful what consanguinity makes unlawful.
Hadith 1445
حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ : أَنَّ أَفْلَحَ أَخَا أَبِي الْقُعَيْسِ جَاءَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيْهَا ، وَهُوَ عَمُّهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ بَعْدَ أَنْ أُنْزِلَ الْحِجَابُ ، قَالَت : فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرْتُهُ بِالَّذِي صَنَعْتُ ، " فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ عَلَيَّ " ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Aflah, the brother of Abu'l-Quais, who was her uncle by reason of fosterage, came, and asked her permission (to enter the house) after seclusion was instituted. I refused to admit him. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came, I Informed him what I had done. He commanded me to grant him permission (as the brother of her foster-father was also her uncle).
Hadith 1445
وحدثناه أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حدثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : أَتَانِي عَمِّي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، أَفْلَحُ بْنُ أَبِي قُعَيْسٍ ، فَذَكَرَ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ ، وَزَادَ : قُلْتُ : إِنَّمَا أَرْضَعَتْنِي الْمَرْأَةُ وَلَمْ يُرْضِعْنِي الرَّجُلُ ، قَالَ : تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكِ أَوْ يَمِينُكِ .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: There came to me Aflah bin Abu Qulais, my uncle by reason of fosterage; the rest of the hadith is the same (but with this) addition: "I ('A'isha) said (to the Holy Prophet): It was the woman who suckled me and not the man, whereupon he (Allah's Messenger) said: May your hands or your right hand be besmeared with dust (you were mistaken)."
Hadith 1445
وحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حدثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ : أَنَّهُ جَاءَ أَفْلَحُ أَخُ وَأَبِي الْقُعَيْسِ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيْهَا ، بَعْدَ مَا نَزَلَ الْحِجَابُ ، وَكَانَ أَبُو الْقُعَيْسِ أَبَا عَائِشَةَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، قَالَت عَائِشَةُ : فَقُلْتُ : وَاللَّهِ لَا آذَنُ لِأَفْلَحَ حَتَّى أَسْتَأْذِنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَإِنَّ أَبَا الْقُعَيْسِ لَيْسَ هُوَ أَرْضَعَنِي ، وَلَكِنْ أَرْضَعَتْنِي امْرَأَتُهُ ، قَالَت عَائِشَةُ : فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أَفْلَحَ أَخَا أَبِي الْقُعَيْسِ جَاءَنِي يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيَّ ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ حَتَّى أَسْتَأْذِنَكَ ، قَالَت : فقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ائْذَنِي لَهُ " ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ : فَبِذَلِكَ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ ، تَقُولُ : حَرِّمُوا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا تُحَرِّمُونَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that there came Aflah the brother, of Abu'l Qu'ais, who sought her permission (to enter) after seclusion was instituted, and Abu Qu'ais was the father of 'A'isha by reason of fosterage. 'A'isha said: By Allah, I would not permit Aflah unless I have solicited the opinion of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for Abu Qu'ais has not suckled me, but his wife has given me suck. 'A'isha' (Allah be pleased with her) said: When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) entered, I said: Allah's Messenger, Aflah is the brother of Abu'l-Qu'ais; he came to me to seek my permission for entering (the house). I did not like the idea of granting him permission until I had solicited your opinion. Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Grant him permission. 'Urwa said it was on account of this that 'A'isha used to say: What is unlawful by reason of consanguinity is unlawful by reason of fosterage.
Hadith 1445
وحدثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حدثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : جَاءَ عَمِّي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيَّ ، فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ حَتَّى أَسْتَأْمِرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قُلْتُ : إِنَّ عَمِّي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيَّ ، فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَلْيَلِجْ عَلَيْكِ عَمُّكِ " ، قُلْتُ : إِنَّمَا أَرْضَعَتْنِي الْمَرْأَةُ ، وَلَمْ يُرْضِعْنِي الرَّجُلُ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ عَمُّكِ ، فَلْيَلِجْ عَلَيْكِ " ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported:My foster uncle came to me and sought permission (to enter the house), but I refused him permission until I had solicited the opinion of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came, I said to him: My foster-uncle sought my permission to (enter the house), but I did not permit him, whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: You better admit your uncle (into the house). I ('A'isha) said: It was the woman who suckled me and not the man. (But he) said: He is your uncle, admit him.
Hadith 1445
وحَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ ، قَالَت : اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيَّ عَمِّي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ أَبُو الْجَعْدِ ، فَرَدَدْتُهُ ، قَالَ لِي هِشَامٌ : إِنَّمَا هُوَ أَبُو الْقُعَيْسِ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرْتُهُ بِذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : " فَهَلَّا أَذِنْتِ لَهُ تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكِ أَوْ يَدُكِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: My foster-uncle Abu'l Ja'd (kunya of Aflah) sought permission from me, which I refused. (Hisham said to me that Abu'l-Ja'd was in fact Abu'l-Qu'ais). When Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) came, I ('A'isha) informed him about it. He said: Why did you not permit him? Let your right hand or hand be besmeared with dust.
Hadith 1445
حدثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حدثنا لَيْثٌ . ح وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْح ، أَخْبَرَنا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عِرَاكٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ ، أَنَّ عَمَّهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ يُسَمَّى أَفْلَحَ ، اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيْهَا فَحَجَبَتْهُ ، فَأَخْبَرَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَ لَهَا : " لَا تَحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that her foster-uncle whose name was Aflah sought permission from her (to enter the house) but she observed seclusion from him, and informed Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who said to her: Don't observe veil from him for he is Mahram (one with whom marriage cannot be contracted) on account of fosterage as one is Mahram on account of consanguinity.
Hadith 1445
وحدثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، حدثنا أَبِي ، حدثنا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيَّ أَفْلَحُ بْنُ قُعَيْسٍ ، فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِنِّي عَمُّكِ أَرْضَعَتْكِ امْرَأَةُ أَخِي ، فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فقَالَ : " لِيَدْخُلْ عَلَيْكِ ، فَإِنَّهُ عَمُّكِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Aflah bin Qu'ais sought permission from me (to enter the house), but I refused to grant him the permission, and he sent me (the message saying): I am your uncle (in the sense) that the wife of my brother has suckled you, (but still) I refused to grant him permission. There came the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I made a mention of it to him, and he said: He can enter (your house), for he is your uncle.
Hadith 1450
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حدثنا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ . ح وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حدثنا إِسْمَاعِيل . ح وحدثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حدثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ سُوَيْدٌ ، وَزُهَيْرٌ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ، قَالَ : " لَا تُحَرِّمُ الْمَصَّةُ وَالْمَصَّتَانِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her), Suwaid and Zubair reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: One suckling or two do not make (marriage) unlawful.
Hadith 1452
حدثنا حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَت : " كَانَ فِيمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ عَشْرُ رَضَعَاتٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ يُحَرِّمْنَ ، ثُمَّ نُسِخْنَ بِخَمْسٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ ، فَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُنَّ فِيمَا يُقْرَأُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that it had been revealed in the Holy Qur'an that ten clear sucklings make the marriage unlawful, then it was abrogated (and substituted) by five sucklings and Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) died and it was before that time (found) in the Holy Qur'an (and recited by the Muslims).
Hadith 1452
حدثنا حدثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعَنْبِيُّ ، حدثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ وَهِيَ تَذْكُرُ الَّذِي يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، قَالَت عَمْرَةُ : فقَالَت عَائِشَةُ : " نَزَلَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ عَشْرُ رَضَعَاتٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ أَيْضًا خَمْسٌ مَعْلُومَاتٌ " ،
'Amra reported that she heard 'A'isha (Allah he pleased with her) discussing fosterage which (makes marriage) unlawful; and she ('A'isha) said: There was revealed in the Holy Qur'an ten clear sucklings, and then five clear (sucklings).
Hadith 1452
وحدثناه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَمْرَةُ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ بِمِثْلِهِ .
Ahadith like this is transmitted by 'A'isha through another chain of narrators.
Hadith 1453
حدثنا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حدثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ دُخُولِ سَالِمٍ ، وَهُوَ حَلِيفُهُ فقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ " ، قَالَت : وَكَيْفَ أُرْضِعُهُ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ ، فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ : " قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ " ، زَادَ عَمْرٌ وَفِي حَدِيثِهِ : وَكَانَ قَدْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ : فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
' A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace be eupon him) and said: Messengerof Allah, I see on the face of Abu Hudhaifa (signs of disgust) on entering of Salim (who is an ally) into (our house), whereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Suckle him. She said: How can I suckle him as he is a grown-up man? Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) smiled and said: I already know that he is a young man. 'Amr has made this addition in his narration that he participated in the Battle of Badr and in the narration of Ibn 'Umar (the words are): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) laughed.
Hadith 1453
وحدثنا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّ سَالِمًا مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ كَانَ مَعَ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ، وَأَهْلِهِ فِي بَيْتِهِمْ فَأَتَتْ تَعْنِي ابْنَةَ سُهَيْلٍ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : إِنَّ سَالِمًا قَدْ بَلَغَ مَا يَبْلُغُ الرِّجَالُ وَعَقَلَ مَا عَقَلُوا ، وَإِنَّهُ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنِّي أَظُنُّ أَنَّ فِي نَفْسِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا ، فقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ ، تَحْرُمِي عَلَيْهِ وَيَذْهَبِ الَّذِي فِي نَفْسِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ " ، فَرَجَعَتْ ، فقَالَت : إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُهُ ، فَذَهَبَ الَّذِي فِي نَفْسِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hadhaifa, lived with him and his family in their house. She (i. e. the daughter of Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said: Salim has attained (pubety) as men attain, and he understands what they understand, and he enters our house freely, I, however, perceive that something (rankles) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa, whereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said to her: Suckle him and you would become unlawful for him, and (the rankling) which Abu Hudhaifa feels in his heart will disappear. She returned and said: So I suckled him, and what (was there) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa disappeared.
Hadith 1453
وحدثنا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : حدثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُ : أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ : أَنَّ سَهْلَةَ بِنْتَ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو جَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ سَالِمًا لِسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مَعَنَا فِي بَيْتِنَا ، وَقَدْ بَلَغَ مَا يَبْلُغُ الرِّجَالُ ، وَعَلِمَ مَا يَعْلَمُ الرِّجَالُ ، قَالَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ ، تَحْرُمِي عَلَيْهِ " ، قَالَ : فَمَكَثْتُ سَنَةً أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْهَا لَا أُحَدِّثُ بِهِ وَهِبْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ الْقَاسِمَ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : لَقَدْ حَدَّثْتَنِي حَدِيثًا مَا حَدَّثْتُهُ بَعْدُ ، قَالَ : فَمَا هُوَ ؟ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، قَالَ : فَحَدِّثْهُ عَنِّي أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْنِيهِ .
Ibn Abu Mulaikahh reported that al-Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr (RA) had narrated to him that 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail bin 'Amr came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah, Salim (the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa) is living with us in our house, and he has attained (puberty) as men attain it and has acquired knowledge (of the sex problems) as men acquire, whereupon he said: Suckle him so that he may become unlawful (in regard to marriage) for you. He (Ibn Abu Mulaikahh) said: I refrained from (narrating this hadith) for a year or so on account of fear. I then met al-Qasim and said to him: You narrated to me a hadith which I did not narrate (to anyone) afterwards. He said: What is that? I informed him, whereupon he said: Narrate it on my authority that 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) had narrated that to me.
Hadith 1453
وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حدثنا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَت أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ ، لِعَائِشَةَ : إِنَّهُ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكِ الْغُلَامُ الْأَيْفَعُ الَّذِي مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ عَلَيَّ ، قَالَ : فقَالَت عَائِشَةُ : أَمَا لَكِ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُسْوَةٌ ؟ قَالَت : إِنَّ امْرَأَةَ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَت : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ سَالِمًا يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ ، وَفِي نَفْسِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ عَلَيْكِ " .
Umm Salamah said to 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her): A young boy who is at the threshold of puberty comes to you. I, however, do not like that he should come to me, whereupon 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: Don't you see in Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) a model for you? She also said: The wife of Abu Hudhaifa said: Messenger of Allah, Salim comes to me and now he is a (grown-up) person, and there is something that (rankles) in the mind of Abu Hudhaifa about him, whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Suckle him (so that he may become your foster-child), and thus he may be able to come to you (freely).
Hadith 1453
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ، واللفظ لهارون ، قَالَا : حدثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ نَافِعٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، تَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَقُولُ لِعَائِشَةَ : وَاللَّهِ مَا تَطِيبُ نَفْسِي أَنْ يَرَانِي الْغُلَامُ قَدِ اسْتَغْنَى عَنِ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، فقَالَت : لِمَ قَدْ جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَت : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي لَأَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ دُخُولِ سَالِمٍ ، قَالَت : فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ " ، فقَالَت : إِنَّهُ ذُو لِحْيَةٍ ، فقَالَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ يَذْهَبْ مَا فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ " ، فقَالَت : وَاللَّهِ مَا عَرَفْتُهُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ .
Zainab daughter of Abu Salama reported: I heard Umm Salamah, the wife of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) , saying to 'A'isha: By Allah, I do not like to be seen by a young boy who has passed the period of fosterage, whereupon she ('A'isha) said: Why is it so? Sahla daughter of Suhail came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: Allah's Messenger, I swear by Allah that I see in the face of Abu Hudhaifa (the signs of disgust) on account of entering of Salim (in the house), whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Suckle him. She (Sahla bint Suhail) said: He has a beard. But he (again) said: Suckle him, and it would remove what is there (expression of disgust) on the face of Abu Hudhaifa. She said: (I did that) and, by Allah, I did not see (any sign of disgust) on the face of Abu Hadhaifa.
Hadith 1455
حدثنا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، حدثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَت عَائِشَةُ : دَخَلَ عَلَيّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَنْدِي رَجُلٌ قَاعِدٌ ، فَاشْتَدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ ، وَرَأَيْتُ الْغَضَبَ فِي وَجْهِهِ ، قَالَت : فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، قَالَت : فقَالَ : " انْظُرْنَ إِخْوَتَكُنَّ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ، فَإِنَّمَا الرَّضَاعَةُ مِنَ الْمَجَاعَةِ " ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) visited me when a man was sitting near me, and he seemed to disapprove of that. And I saw signs of anger on his face and I said: Messenger of Allah, he is my brother by forsterage, whereupon he said: Consider who your brothers are because of fosterage since fosterage is through hunger (i. e. in infancy).
Hadith 1457
حدثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حدثنا لَيْثٌ . ح وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْح ، أَخْبَرَنا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَت : اخْتَصَمَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ فِي غُلَامٍ ، فقَالَ سَعْدٌ : هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ابْنُ أَخِي عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ ابْنُهُ انْظُرْ إِلَى شَبَهِهِ ؟ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ : هَذَا أَخِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وُلِدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِ أَبِي مِنْ وَلِيدَتِهِ ، فَنَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى شَبَهِهِ فَرَأَى شَبَهًا بَيِّنًا بِعُتْبَةَ ، فقَالَ : " هُوَ لَكَ يَا عَبْدُ ، الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ ، وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ ، وَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ يَا سَوْدَةُ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ " ، قَالَت : فَلَمْ يَرَ سَوْدَةَ قَطُّ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، قَوْلَهُ : يَا عَبْدُ ،
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas and Abd bin Zam'a (RA) disputed with each other over a young boy. Sa'd said: Messenger of Allah, he is the son of my brother 'Utba bin Abu Waqqas as he made it explicit that he was his son. Look at his resemblance. Abd bin Zam'a said: Messenger of Allah, he is my brother as he was born on the bed of my father from his slave-girl. Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) looked at his resemblance and found a clear resemblance with 'Utba. (But) he said: He is yours 0 'Abd (b. Zam'a), for the child is to be attributed to one on whose bed it is born, and stoning for a fornicator. Sauda bint Zam'a, O you should observe veil from him. So he did not see Sauda at all. Muhammad bin Rumh did not make a mention (of the words):" O Abd."
Hadith 1459
حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْح ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنا اللَّيْثُ . ح وحدثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حدثنا لَيْثٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَت : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ مَسْرُورًا تَبْرُقُ أَسَارِيرُ وَجْهِهِ ، فقَالَ : " أَلَمْ تَرَيْ أَنَّ مُجَزِّزًا نَظَرَ آنِفًا ، إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ ، وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ " ، فقَالَ : إِنَّ بَعْضَ هَذِهِ الْأَقْدَامِ لَمِنْ بَعْضٍ .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) visited me looking pleased as if his face was glistening and said: Did you see that Mujazziz cast a glance at Zaid bin Haritha and Usama bin Zaid, and (then) said: Some (of the features) of their feet are found in the others?
