Hadith 275
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَعْتَدِلْ وَلَا يَفْتَرِشْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شِبْلٍ ، وَأَنَسٍ ، وَالْبَرَاءِ ، وَأَبِي حُمَيْدٍ ، وَعَائِشَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يَخْتَارُونَ الِاعْتِدَالَ فِي السُّجُودِ وَيَكْرَهُونَ الِافْتِرَاشَ كَافْتِرَاشِ السَّبُعِ .
´Jabir narrated that :` the Prophet said: "When one of you prostrates, then let him be balanced, and let him not lay his forearms down like the lying of the dog."
Hadith 332
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى عَلَى حَصِيرٍ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَنَسٍ , وَالْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ قَوْمًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ اخْتَارُوا الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ اسْتِحْبَابًا ، وَأَبُو سُفْيَانَ اسْمُهُ : طَلْحَةُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ .
´Abu Sa'eed narrated:` "The Prophet performed Salat on a Hasir."
Hadith 455
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ خَشِيَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ لَا يَسْتَيْقِظَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيُوتِرْ مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ ، وَمَنْ طَمِعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَقُومَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيُوتِرْ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ ، فَإِنَّ قِرَاءَةَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ مَحْضُورَةٌ وَهِيَ أَفْضَلُ " . حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَلِكَ .
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you fears that he may not be able to get up in the last part of the night, then he should offer Witr in the early part of the night. And whoever hopes to get up in the last part of the night, then he should offer Witr in the last part of the night, for indeed, angels are present when the Qur'an is recited in the last part of the night; this is the best time."
Hadith 1279
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَا : أَنْبَأَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ ، وَالسِّنَّوْرِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ اضْطِرَابٌ ، وَلَا يَصِحُّ فِي ثَمَنِ السِّنَّوْرِ . وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَاضْطَرَبُوا عَلَى الْأَعْمَشِ فِي رِوَايَةِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، وَقَدْ كَرِهَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ ثَمَنَ الْهِرِّ ، وَرَخَّصَ فِيهِ بَعْضُهُمْ ، وَهُوَ قَوْلُ : أَحْمَدَ ، وَإِسْحَاق ، وَرَوَى ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the price of a dog and a cat. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- There is confusion in the chain of this hadith. Regarding the price of a cat, this is not authentic,
2- This hadith is narrated from A’mash, who narrated from some of his companions, and he from Jabir; these people are confused in narrating this hadith from A’mash,
3- And Ibn Fadl has narrated it through another chain by way of: «الأعمش ، عن أبي حازم ، عن أبي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم»,
4- A group of scholars have declared the price of a cat to be impermissible,
5- And some people have allowed it; this is also the opinion of Ahmad and Ishaq bin Rahwayh.

Hadith 1820
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا .
With this chain, a similar hadith is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 1937
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ قَدْ يَئِسَ أَنْ يَعْبُدَهُ الْمُصَلُّونَ وَلَكِنْ فِي التَّحْرِيشِ بَيْنَهُمْ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَأَبُو سُفْيَانَ اسْمُهُ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ .
´Jabir narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:` "Indeed Ash-Shaitan has despaired of getting those who perform Salat to worship him.But he is engaged in sowing hatred among them."
Hadith 2140
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ : " يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ، ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، آمَنَّا بِكَ وَبِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ فَهَلْ تَخَافُ عَلَيْنَا ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، إِنَّ الْقُلُوبَ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ اللَّهِ يُقَلِّبُهَا كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، وَعَائِشَةَ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَهَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَصَحُّ .
´'Anas narrated:` "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) would often say: Ya Muqallibal-qulub, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinik('O Changer of the Hearts! Strengthen my heart upon Your Religion.)' So I said: 'O Prophet of Allah! We believe in you and what you have come with, but do you fear for us?' He said: 'Yes. Indeed the hearts are between two Fingers of Allah's Fingers, He changes them as He wills.'"
Hadith 2250
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ نَفْسٌ مَنْفُوسَةٌ ، يَعْنِي الْيَوْمَ تَأْتِي عَلَيْهَا مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، وَبُرَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .
´It was narrated from Jabir, that the Prophet(s.a.w) said:` "There is no soul born upon the earth – meaning today – upon whom will come one hundred years." (Sahih)
Hadith 2597
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُعَذَّبُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ التَّوْحِيدِ فِي النَّارِ حَتَّى يَكُونُوا فِيهَا حُمَمًا ثُمَّ تُدْرِكُهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ فَيُخْرَجُونَ وَيُطْرَحُونَ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ ، قَالَ : فَيَرُشُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْمَاءَ ، فَيَنْبُتُونَ كَمَا يَنْبُتُ الْغُثَاءُ فِي حِمَالَةِ السَّيْلِ ثُمَّ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ " , قَالَ : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ .
´Jabir narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:` " Some of the people of Tawhid will be punished in the Fire until they are coals. Then the Mercy (of Allah) will reach them, they will be taken out and tossed at the doors of Paradise." He said: " The people of Paradise will pour water over them, and they will sprout as the debris carried by the flood sprouts, then they will enter Paradise."
Hadith 2618
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ , وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بَيْنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْإِيمَانِ تَرْكُ الصَّلَاةِ " , حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ , وَقَالَ : " بَيْنَ الْعَبْدِ وَبَيْنَ الشِّرْكِ أَوِ الْكُفْرِ تَرْكُ الصَّلَاةِ " .
´Narrated Jabir:` that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Between disbelief and faith is abandoning the Salat."
Hadith 3311
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَائِمًا إِذْ قَدِمَتْ عِيرُ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَابْتَدَرَهَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا اثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلًا فِيهِمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ وَنَزَلَتِ الْآيَةَ : وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا سورة الجمعة آية 11 " . قَالَ : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Jabir said:` “The Prophet was standing and delivering a Khutbah for us on one Friday, when a caravan arrived in Al-Madinah. So the Companions of the Messenger of Allah rushed off until only twelve men remained. Among them were Abu Bakr and Umar. And This Ayah was revealed: And when they see some merchandise or some amusement, they disperse headlong to it.”
