Hadith 268
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ ، وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'."
Hadith 634
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ صَفِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَضَعُ رَأْسَهُ فِي حِجْرِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ ، وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah used to put his head in my lap when I was menstruating and recite Qur'an."
Hadith 642
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ صَفِيَّةَ تُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " تَأْخُذُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ مَاءَهَا وَسِدْرَهَا فَتَطْهُرُ فَتُحْسِنُ الطُّهُورَ ، أَوْ تَبْلُغُ فِي الطُّهُورِ ، ثُمَّ تَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا فَتَدْلُكُهُ دَلْكًا شَدِيدًا حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ شُؤُونَ رَأْسِهَا ، ثُمَّ تَصُبُّ عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ ، ثُمَّ تَأْخُذُ فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً فَتَطْهُرُ بِهَا " ، قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ : كَيْفَ أَتَطَهَّرُ بِهَا ؟ قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ تَطَهَّرِي بِهَا " ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : كَأَنَّهَا تُخْفِي ذَلِكَ ، تَتَبَّعِي بِهَا أَثَرَ الدَّمِ ، قَالَتْ : وَسَأَلَتْهُ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " تَأْخُذُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ مَاءَهَا فَتَطْهُرُ فَتُحْسِنُ الطُّهُورَ ، أَوْ تَبْلُغُ فِي الطُّهُورِ حَتَّى تَصُبَّ الْمَاءَ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا فَتَدْلُكُهُ حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ شُؤُونَ رَأْسِهَا ، ثُمَّ تُفِيضُ الْمَاءَ عَلَى جَسَدِهَا " ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : نِعْمَ النِّسَاءُ نِسَاءُ الْأَنْصَارِ لَمْ يَمْنَعْهُنَّ الْحَيَاءُ أَنْ يَتَفَقَّهْنَ فِي الدِّينِ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that:` Asma asked the Messenger of Allah about bathing after ones's period. He said: "One of you should take her water and lote leaves, and purify herself well, or thoroughly. Then she should pour water over her head and rub it vigorously so that the water reaches the roots of her hair. Then she should take a piece of cotton perfumed with musk and purify herself with it." Asma said: "How should I purify myself with it?" He said: "Subhan Allah! Purify yourself with it!" 'Aishah said, as if whispering to her: "Wipe away the traces of blood with it." Then she (Asma) asked him about bathing to cleanse oneself from sexual impurity. He said: "One of you should take her water, and purify herself, and purify herself well, or thoroughly. She should pour water over her head and rub it so that the water reaches the roots of her hair, then she should pour water over her body." 'Aishah said: "How good were the women of the Ansar! For they did not let shyness keep them from understanding their religion properly."
Hadith 2046
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا طَلَاقَ وَلَا عَتَاقَ فِي إِغْلَاقٍ " .
´It was narrated that Safiyyah bint Shaibah said:` "Aishah told me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There is no divorce and no manumission at the time of coercion.' "
Hadith 2947
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا اطْمَأَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ ، طَافَ عَلَى بَعِيرهُ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ بِيَدِهِ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا حَمَامَةَ عَيْدَانٍ فَكَسَرَهَا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ عَلَى بَاب : الْكَعْبَةِ فَرَمَى بِهَا ، وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Safiyyah bint Shaibah said:` “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw that things had settled down, in the year of the Conquest (of Makkah), he performed Tawaf on his camel, touching the corner with a staff in his hand. Then he entered the House and found a dove made of aloeswood. He broke it, then he stood at the door of the Ka’bah and threw it out, and I was watching him.”
Hadith 2983
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ أَبُو بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ صَفِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحْرِمِينَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُقِمْ عَلَى إِحْرَامِهِ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَحْلِلْ " ، قَالَتْ : فَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعِي هَدْيٌ فَأَحْلَلْتُ ، وَكَانَ مَعَ الزُّبَيْرِ هَدْيٌ فَلَمْ يَحِلَّ ، فَلَبِسْتُ ثِيَابِي ، وَجِئْتُ إِلَى الزُّبَيْرِ ، فَقَالَ : قُومِي عَنِّي ، فَقُلْتُ : أَتَخْشَى أَنْ أَثِبَ عَلَيْكَ .
´It was narrated that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr said:` “We went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Ihram. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him, let him remain in Ihram. Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him, let him exit Ihram.’ She said: ‘I did not have a sacrificial animal with me, so I exited Ihram, but Zubair had a sacrificial animal with him, so he did not exit Ihram. So I put on my regular clothes and came to Zubair, and he said: ‘Go away from me.’ I said: ‘Are you afraid I am going to jump on you?!’”
Hadith 2987
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ وَلَدٍ لِشَيْبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يُقْطَعُ الْأَبْطَحُ إِلَّا شَدًّا " .
´It was narratd that an Umm Walad* of Shaibah said:` “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performing Sa’y between Safa and Marwah saying: ‘The valley should not be crossed except quickly.’”
Hadith 3109
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَنَّاقٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ، فَهِيَ حَرَامٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، لَا يُعْضَدُ شَجَرُهَا وَلَا يُنَفَّرُ صَيْدُهَا وَلَا يَأْخُذُ لُقْطَتَهَا إِلَّا مُنْشِدٌ " ، فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ : إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لِلْبُيُوتِ وَالْقُبُورِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ " .
´It was narrated that Safiyyah bint Shaibah said:` “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering a sermon in the Year of the Conquest (of Makkah), and he said: ‘O people, Allah made Makkah sacred the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it is sacred until the Day of Resurrection. Its trees are not to be cut, its game is not to be disturbed, and its lost property is not to be taken except by one who will announce it.’‘Abbas said: ‘Except for Idhkhir (a kind of fragrant grass), for it is (used) for houses and graves.’ The messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Except for Idhkhir.’”
Hadith 3803
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْأَزْرَقُ أَبُو مَرْوَانَ , حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أُمِّهِ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَأَى مَا يُحِبُّ , قَالَ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ , وَإِذَا رَأَى مَا يَكْرَهُ , قَالَ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw something he liked, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi bi ni'matihi tatimmus-salihat (Praise is to Allah by Whose grace good deeds are completed).' And if he saw something that he disliked, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahi 'ala kulli hal (Praise is to Allah in all circumstances).'"
Hadith 3974
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ الْمَكِّيُّ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ حَسَّانَ الْمَخْزُومِيَّ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " كَلَامُ ابْنِ آدَمَ عَلَيْهِ لَا لَهُ , إِلَّا الْأَمْرَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ , وَالنَّهْيَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ , وَذِكْرَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “The words of the son of Adam count against him, not for him, except what is good and forbidding what is evil, and remembering Allah.”
