Hadith 2864
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ رَجُلٌ : لِلْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَفَرَرْتُمْ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ؟ قَالَ : لَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَمْ يَفِرَّ إِنَّ هَوَازِنَ كَانُوا قَوْمًا رُمَاةً وَإِنَّا لَمَّا لَقِينَاهُمْ حَمَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فَانْهَزَمُوا ، فَأَقْبَلَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ عَلَى الْغَنَائِمِ وَاسْتَقْبَلُونَا بِالسِّهَامِ فَأَمَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَفِرَّ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ وَإِنَّهُ لَعَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ الْبَيْضَاءِ ، وَإِنَّأَبَا سُفْيَانَ آخِذٌ بِلِجَامِهَا وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : أَنَا النَّبِيُّ لَا كَذِبْ أَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبْ " .
Narrated Abu 'Is-haq: Somebody asked Al-Bar-a bin `Azib, "Did you flee deserting Allah's Apostle during the battle of Hunain?" Al-Bara replied, "But Allah's Apostle did not flee. The people of the Tribe of Hawazin were good archers. When we met them, we attacked them, and they fled. When the Muslims started collecting the war booty, the pagans faced us with arrows, but Allah's Apostle did not flee. No doubt, I saw him on his white mule and Abu Sufyan was holding its reins and the Prophet was saying, 'I am the Prophet in truth: I am the son of `Abdul Muttalib.' "
Hadith 3421
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْعَوَّامَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَسْجُدُ فِي ص فَقَرَأَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ حَتَّى أَتَى فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ سورة الأنعام آية 84 - 90 فَقَالَ : ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا نَبِيُّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِمَّنْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِهِمْ .
Narrated Mujahid: I asked Ibn `Abbas, "Should we perform a prostration on reciting Surat-Sa`d?" He recited (the Sura) including: 'And among his progeny, David, Solomon..(up to)...so follow their guidance (6.84-91) And then he said, "Your Prophet is amongst those people who have been ordered to follow them (i.e. the preceding apostles).
Hadith 4632
حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ الْأَحْوَلُ ، أَنَّ مُجَاهِدًا أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ : أَفِي ص سَجْدَةٌ ؟ فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ ، ثُمَّ تَلَا وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ سورة الأنعام آية 84 - 90 ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : هُوَ مِنْهُمْ ، زَادَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، وَسَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ الْعَوَّامِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : فَقَالَ نَبِيُّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مِمَّنْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِهِمْ " .
Narrated Mujahid: That he asked Ibn `Abbas, "Is there a prostration Surat-al-Sa`d?" (38.24) Ibn `Abbas said, "Yes," and then recited: "We gave...So follow their guidance." (6.85,90) Then he said, "He (David ) is one them (i.e. those prophets)." Mujahid narrated: I asked Ibn `Abbas (regarding the above Verse). He said, "Your Prophet (Muhammad) was one of those who were ordered to follow them."
