Hadith 505
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّجْلِ يَدْنُو مِنِ امْرَأَتِهِ فَلَا يُنْزِلُ ؟ قَالَ : " إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ ، يَعْنِي لِيَغْسِلْهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأْ " .
´It was narrated from Miqdad bin Aswad that:` He asked the Prophet about a man who approached his wife, but did not ejaculate. He said: "If anyone of you finds that, he should sprinkle water over his private part (meaning he must wash it) and perform ablution."
Hadith 536
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ الْمَنِيُّ أَنَغْسِلُهُ ، أَوْ نَغْسِلُ الثَّوْبَ كُلَّهُ ؟ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهُ فَيَغْسِلُهُ مِنْ ثَوْبِهِ ، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فِي ثَوْبِهِ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، وَأَنَا أَرَى أَثَرَ الْغَسْلِ فِيهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Amr bin Maimun said:` "I asked Sulaiman bin Yasar about a garment which gets semen on it. 'Should I wash it off or wash the entire garment?' Sulaiman said: 'Aishah said: "Semen used to get on the garment of the Messenger of Allah and he would wash it off his garment, then he would go out to pray wearing that garment, and I could see the marks left on it by washing."
Hadith 623
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ : إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، وَلَكِنْ دَعِي قَدْرَ الْأَيَّامِ وَاللَّيَالِي الَّتِي كُنْتِ تَحِيضِينَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " وَقَدْرَهُنَّ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ، ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي ، وَاسْتَثْفِرِي بِثَوْبٍ وَصَلِّي " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` "A woman asked the Prophet: 'I bleed continuously and I do not become pure. Should I give up the prayer?' He said: 'No, but leave off praying for the number of days and nights that used to menstruate.'" (One of the narrators) Abu Bakr (Ibn Abu Shaibah) said in this Hadith: "Estimate the number of days in the month, then take a bath and cover your private part with a cloth and perform prayer."
Hadith 827
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَشْبَهَ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ فُلَانٍ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَيُخَفِّفُ الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ ، وَيُخَفِّفُ الْعَصْرَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` “I have never seen anyone whose prayer more closely resembles that of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) than so-and-so. He used to lengthen the first two Rak’ah of the Zuhr and shorten the last two Rak’ah, and he used to shorten the ‘Asr.”
Hadith 1812
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ فِي عَبْدِهِ وَلَا فِي فَرَسِهِ صَدَقَةٌ " .
´Abu Huraitah narrated that:` the Messenger of Allah said: “The Muslim is not obliged to pay Sadaqah on his slave not his horse.”
Hadith 1816
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مُوسَى أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، وَعَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فِيمَا سَقَتِ السَّمَاءُ ، وَالْعُيُونُ الْعُشْرُ ، وَفِيمَا سُقِيَ بِالنَّضْحِ نِصْفُ الْعُشْرِ " .
´Abu Hurairah narrated that:` the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “For crops that are irrigated by the sky (i.e. rain) and springs, one-tenth. For those that are irrigated by watering, one half of one-tenth.”
Hadith 1930
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَنْهَى عَنْ نِكَاحَيْنِ ، أَنْ يَجْمَعَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا ، وَبَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said:` “I heard the Messenger of Allah forbid two types of marriage: For a man to be married to a woman and her paternal aunt (at the same time), and to a woman and her maternal aunt( at the same time).”
Hadith 2062
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ صَخْرٍ الْبَيَاضِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ امْرَأً أَسْتَكْثِرُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ لَا أَرَى رَجُلًا كَانَ يُصِيبُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مَا أُصِيبُ ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ رَمَضَانُ ظَاهَرْتُ مِنَ امْرَأَتِي حَتَّى يَنْسَلِخَ رَمَضَانُ ، فَبَيْنَمَا هِيَ تُحَدِّثُنِي ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ انْكَشَفَ لِي مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ ، فَوَثَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَوَاقَعْتُهَا ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ غَدَوْتُ عَلَى قَوْمِي ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُمْ خَبَرِي ، وَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ : سَلُوا لِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : مَا كُنَّا لِنَفْعَلَ إِذًا يُنْزِلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِينَا كِتَابًا ، أَوْ يَكُونَ فِينَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَوْلٌ : فَيَبْقَى عَلَيْنَا عَارُهُ ، وَلَكِنْ سَوْفَ نُسَلِّمُكَ لِجَرِيرَتِكَ ، اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ فَاذْكُرْ شَأْنَكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى جِئْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ الْخَبَرَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنْتَ بِذَاكَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : أَنَا بِذَاكَ ، وَهَأَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، صَابِرٌ لِحُكْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَيَّ ، قَالَ : " فَأَعْتِقْ رَقَبَةً " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَصْبَحْتُ أَمْلِكُ إِلَّا رَقَبَتِي هَذِهِ ، قَالَ : " فَصُمْ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَهَلْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ مَا دَخَلَ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ إِلَّا بِالصَّوْمِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " فَتَصَدَّقْ وَأَطْعِمْ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَقَدْ بِتْنَا لَيْلَتَنَا هَذِهِ مَا لَنَا عَشَاءٌ ، قَالَ : " فَاذْهَبْ إِلَى صَاحِبِ صَدَقَةِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ فَقُلْ لَهُ : فَلْيَدْفَعْهَا إِلَيْكَ وَأَطْعِمْ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا وَانْتَفِعْ بِبَقِيَّتِهَا " .
´It was narrated that Salamah bin Sakhr Al-Bayadi said:` "I was a man who had a lot of desire for women, and I do not think there was any man who had as great a share of that as me. When Ramadan began, I declared Zihar upon my wife (to last) until Ramadan ended. While she was talking to me one night, part of her body became uncovered. I jumped on her and had intercourse with her. The next morning I went to my people and told them, and said to them: 'Ask the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for me.' They said: 'We will not do that, lest Allah reveal Quran concerning us or the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) says, something about us, and it will be a lasting source of disgrace for us. Rather we will leave you to deal with it yourself. Go yourself and tell the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about your problem.' So I went out and when I came to him, I told him what happened. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Did you really do that?' I said: 'I really did that, and here I am, O Messenger of Allah. (ﷺ) I will bear Allah’s ruling on me with patience.' He said: 'Free a slave.' I said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truth, I do not own anything but myself.' He said: 'Fast for two consecutive months.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the thing that happened to me was only because of fasting.' He said: 'Then give charity, or feed sixty poor persons.' I said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truttu we spent last night with no dinner.' He said: 'Then go to the collector of charity of Banu Zuraiq, and tell him to give you something, then feed sixty poor persons, and benefit from the rest.'"
Hadith 2465
حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا نُحَاقِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَزَعَمَ أَنَّ بَعْضَ عُمُومَتِهِ أَتَاهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلَا يُكْرِيهَا بِطَعَامٍ مُسَمَّى " .
´It was narrated that Rafi` bin khadij said:` We used to give land in return for food at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and some of my paternal uncles came to them and said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever has land, he should not rent it out for a set amount of food.”
Hadith 2601
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يُجْلَدُ أَحَدٌ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ جَلَدَاتٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Burdah bin Niyar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say:` “No one should be given more than ten lashes, except in the case of one of the legal punishments of Allah (SWT).”
Hadith 2909
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ الْفَضْلِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ رِدْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَدَاةَ النَّحْرِ ، فَأَتَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ ، أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ ؟ ، قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِيكِ دَيْنٌ قَضَيْتِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that his brother Fadl was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in the morning of sacrifice (i.e., the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah), when a woman from Khath’am came and said:` “O Messenger of Allah, the command of Allah has come for His slaves to perform Hajj, but my father is an old man and cannot ride. May I perform Hajj on his behalf?” He said: “Yes, because if your father owed a debt you would pay it off.”
Hadith 3176
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ حَاضِرَ بْنَ مُهَاجِرٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ " أَنَّ ذِئْبًا نَيَّبَ فِي شَاةٍ فَذَبَحُوهَا بِمَرْوَةٍ ، فَرَخَّصَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَكْلِهَا " .
It was narrated from Zaid bin Thabit that a wolf bit a sheep, and they slaughtered it with a sharp-edged stone, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) allowed them to eat it.
Hadith 3580
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمْ تَجُرُّ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ ذَيْلِهَا ؟ قَالَ : " شِبْرًا " , قُلْتُ : إِذًا يَنْكَشِفُ عَنْهَا , قَالَ : " ذِرَاعٌ لَا تَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about how long a woman’s hem should hang down. He said: ‘A hand span.’ I said: ‘But then (her legs and feet) will be uncovered.’ He said: ‘Then a forearm’s length, but no more than that.’”
Hadith 3621
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ , وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ يُخْبِرَانِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ , وَالنَّصَارَى , لَا يَصْبُغُونَ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah attributed to the Prophet (ﷺ):` “The Jews and the Christians do not dye (their hair), so differ from them.”
