Hadith 116
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ الصَّوَّافِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ الطُّفَيْلَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيَّ ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ لَكَ فِي حِصْنٍ حَصِينٍ وَمَنْعَةٍ ؟ قَالَ : حِصْنٌ كَانَ لِدَوْسٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَأَبَى ذَلِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلَّذِي ذَخَرَ اللَّهُ لِلأَنْصَارِ ، فَلَمَّا هَاجَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، وَهَاجَرَ مَعَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ ، فَاجْتَوَوْا الْمَدِينَة َ ، فَمَرِضَ فَجَزِعَ فَأَخَذَ مَشَاقِصَ لَهُ فَقَطَعَ بِهَا بَرَاجِمَهُ ، فَشَخَبَتْ يَدَاهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ ، فَرَآهُ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍ وَفِي مَنَامِهِ فَرَآهُ ، وَهَيْئَتُهُ حَسَنَةٌ ، وَرَآهُ مُغَطِّيًا يَدَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : مَا صَنَعَ بِكَ رَبُّكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : غَفَرَ لِي بِهِجْرَتِي إِلَى نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا لِي أَرَاكَ مُغَطِّيًا يَدَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : قِيلَ لِي : لَنْ نُصْلِحَ مِنْكَ مَا أَفْسَدْتَ ، فَقَصَّهَا الطُّفَيْلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ وَلِيَدَيْهِ ، فَاغْفِرْ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir that Tufail son of Amr al-Dausi came to the Apostle (ﷺ) and said: Do you need strong, fortified protection? The tribe of Daus had a fort in the pre-Islamic days. The Apostle (ﷺ) declined this offer, since it (the privilege of protecting the Holy Prophet) had already been reserved for the Ansar. When the Apostle (ﷺ) migrated to Madinah, Tufail son of Amr also migrated to that place, and there also migrated along with him a man of his tribe. But the climate of Madinah did not suit him, and he fell sick. He felt very uneasy. So he took hold of an iron head of an arrow and cut his finger-joints. The blood streamed forth from his hands, till he died. Tufail son of Amr saw him in a dream. His state was good and he saw him with his hands wrapped. He (Tufail) said to him: What treatment did your Allah accord to you? He replied. Allah granted me pardon for my migration to the Apostle (ﷺ) : He (Tufail) again said: What is this that I see you wrapping up your hands? He replied: I was told (by Allah): We would not set right anything of yours which you damaged yourself. Tufail narrated this (dream) to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . Upon this he prayed: O Allah I grant pardon even to his hands.
Hadith 683
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " إِذَا كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَعَرَّسَ بِلَيْلٍ ، اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ ، وَإِذَا عَرَّسَ قُبَيْلَ الصُّبْحِ ، نَصَبَ ذِرَاعَهُ وَوَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ عَلَى كَفِّهِ " .
Abu Qatadah (RA) reported that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in a journey he got down for rest at night, and he used to lie down on his right side, and when he lay down for rest before the dawn, he used to stretch his forearm and place his head over his palm.
Hadith 1438
وحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ ، حدثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حدثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثْتُ مُحَمَّدًا ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، بِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ ، يَعْنِي حَدِيثَ الْعَزْلِ ، فقَالَ : إِيَّايَ حَدَّثَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ،
Ibn 'Aun reported: I reported to Muhammad on the authority of Ibrahim the hadith reported by 'Abdul Rahmann bin Bishr (the hadith concerning 'azl), where-upon he said: That (hadith) Abdul Rahman bin Bishr had narrated to me (also).
Hadith 1472
وحدثنا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ : أَنَّ أَبَا الصَّهْبَاءِ ، قَالَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : هَاتِ مِنْ هَنَاتِكَ " أَلَمْ يَكُنِ الطَّلَاقُ الثَّلَاثُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَاحِدَةً ، فقَالَ : قَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي عَهْدِ عُمَرَ تَتَايَعَ النَّاسُ فِي الطَّلَاقِ ، فَأَجَازَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
Abu al-Sahba' said to Ibn 'Abbas (RA) : Enlighten us with your information whether the three divorces (pronounced at one and the same time) were not treated as one during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr. He said: It was in fact so, but when during the caliphate of 'Umar (RA) people began to pronounce divorce frequently, he allowed them to do so (to treat pronouncements of three divorces in a single breath as one).
Hadith 1671
وحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ عُكْلٍ أَوْ عُرَيْنَةَ ، فَاجْتَوَوْا الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَأَمَرَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بِلِقَاحٍ وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا مِنْ أَبْوَالِهَا وَأَلْبَانِهَا " ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : " وَسُمِرَتْ أَعْيُنُهُمْ وَأُلْقُوا فِي الْحَرَّةِ يَسْتَسْقُونَ فَلَا يُسْقَوْنَ " ،
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that some people of the tribe of 'Ukl or 'Uraina came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) , and they found the climate of Madinah uncogenial. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) commanded them to the milch she-camels and commanded them to drink their urine and their milk. The rest of the hadith is the same (and the concluding words are):"Their eyes were pierced, and they were thrown on the stony ground. They were asking for water, but they were not given water."
Hadith 1831
وحَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ صَخْرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَي بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، الْغُلُولَ فَعَظَّمَهُ وَاقْتَصَّ الْحَدِيثَ ، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَي بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يُحَدِّثُهُ ، فَحَدَّثَنَا بِنَحْوِ مَا حَدَّثَنَا عَنْهُ أَيُّوبُ ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) has narrated this hadith with a slight variation of words.
Hadith 2601
حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِنَحْوِهِ .
A hadith like this has been reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2953
وحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْبَدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَل النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : مَتَى تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ ؟ ، قَالَ : فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُنَيْهَةً ثُمَّ نَظَرَ إِلَى غُلَامٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ أَزْدِ شَنُوءَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ عُمِّرَ هَذَا لَمْ يُدْرِكْهُ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ " ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَنَسٌ : ذَاكَ الْغُلَامُ مِنْ أَتْرَابِي يَوْمَئِذٍ .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that a person asked Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) : When would the Last Hour come? Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) kept quiet for a while, then looked at a young boy in his presence belonging to the tribe of Azd Shanilwa and he said: If this boy lives he would not grow very old till the Last Hour would come to you. Anas said that this young boy was of our age during those days.
