Hadith 2054
وحَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُضِيفَهُ ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَهُ مَا يُضِيفُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا رَجُلٌ يُضِيفُ هَذَا رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ ؟ " فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ ، فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى رَحْلِهِ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ ، وَذَكَرَ فِيهِ نُزُولَ الْآيَةِ كَمَا ذَكَرَهُ وَكِيعٌ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that a man came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) so that he should entertain him as a guest, but he had nothing with which he could entertain him. He, therefore, asked if there was any person who would entertain him (assuring the audience) that Allah would show mercy to him. A person from the Ansar who was called Abu Talha stood up and he took him to his house. The rest of the hadith is the same and mention is (also) made in that about the revelation of the verse as narrated by Waki'.
Hadith 2064
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : حَدَّثَنَا وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَا عَابَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامًا قَطُّ ، كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَهَى شَيْئًا أَكَلَهُ وَإِنْ كَرِهَهُ تَرَكَهُ "
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) never found fault with food (served to him). If he liked anything, he ate it and if he did not like it he left it.
Hadith 2064
وحَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) through a different chain of transmitters.
Hadith 1028
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَصْبَحَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ صَائِمًا ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : فَمَنْ تَبِعَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ جَنَازَةً ؟ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : فَمَنْ أَطْعَمَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِسْكِينًا ؟ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : فَمَنْ عَادَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مَرِيضًا ؟ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَنَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا اجْتَمَعْنَ فِي امْرِئٍ إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Who amongst you is observing fastthis day? Abu Bake said: It is I. He (again) said: Who amongst you has followed the bier today? Abu Bakr (RA) said: It is I. He (the Holy Prophet) again said: Who amongst you has served food to the needy? Abu Bakr (RA) said: It is I. He (again) said: Who amongst you has today visited the sick? Abu Bakr (RA) said: It is I. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: He must get into Paradise who combines in himself (all these noble qualities and virtues).
Hadith 2599
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِيَانِ الْفَزَارِيَّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَمْ أُبْعَثْ لَعَّانًا ، وَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported it was said to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : Invoke curse upon the polytheists, whereupon he said: I have not been sent as the invoker of curse, but "I have been sent as mercy."
Hadith 2634
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ ، فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ بِمِثْلِ مَعْنَاهُ وَزَادَا جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَازِمٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : ثَلَاثَةً لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحِنْثَ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that he (the Holy Prophet) said: Three (children) who die in childhood.
Hadith 2797
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الْقَيْسِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي نُعَيْمُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ : هَلْ يُعَفِّرُ مُحَمَّدٌ وَجْهَهُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ ؟ ، قَالَ : فَقِيلَ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّاتِ وَالْعُزَّى لَئِنْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ لَأَطَأَنَّ عَلَى رَقَبَتِهِ ، أَوْ لَأُعَفِّرَنَّ وَجْهَهُ فِي التُّرَابِ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي زَعَمَ لِيَطَأَ عَلَى رَقَبَتِهِ ، قَالَ : فَمَا فَجِئَهُمْ مِنْهُ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يَنْكُصُ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ ، وَيَتَّقِي بِيَدَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَقِيلَ لَهُ : مَا لَكَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ لَخَنْدَقًا مِنْ نَارٍ وَهَوْلًا وَأَجْنِحَةً ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ دَنَا مِنِّي لَاخْتَطَفَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عُضْوًا عُضْوًا ، قَالَ : فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا نَدْرِي فِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْ شَيْءٌ بَلَغَهُ كَلَّا إِنَّ الإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَى { 6 } أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَى { 7 } إِنَّ إِلَى رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَى { 8 } أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَى { 9 } عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّى { 10 } أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَى { 11 } أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَى { 12 } أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى { 13 } سورة العلق آية 6-13 يَعْنِي أَبَا جَهْلٍ أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَى { 14 } كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ { 15 } نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ { 16 } فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ { 17 } سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ { 18 } كَلَّا لا تُطِعْهُ سورة العلق آية 14-19 زَادَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ، قَالَ : وَأَمَرَهُ بِمَا أَمَرَهُ بِهِ ، وَزَادَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ : يَعْنِي قَوْمَهُ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Abu Jahl asked (people) whether Muhammad placed his face (on the ground) in their presence. It was said to him: Yes. He said: By Lat and Uzza. If I were to see him do that, I would trample his neck, or I would besmear his face with dust. He came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as he was engaged in prayer and thought of trampling his neck and the people said that he came near him but turned upon his heels and tried to repulse something with his hands. It was said to him: What is the matter with you? He said: There is between me and him a ditch of fire and terror and wings. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) said: If he were to come near me the angels would have torn him to pieces. Then Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this verse- (the narrator) said: We do not whether it is the hadith transmitted to Abu Hurairah (RA) or something conveyed to him from another source: "Nay, man is surely inordinate, because he looks upon himself as self-sufficient. Surely to thy Lord is the return. Hast thou seen him who forbids a servant when he prays? Seest thou if he is on the right way, or enjoins observance of piety? Seest thou if he [Abu Jah]] denies and turns away? Knowest he not that Allah sees? Nay. if he desists not, We will seize him by the forelock-a lying, sinful forelock. Then let him summon his council. We will summon the guards of the Hell. Nay! Obey not thou him" (Icvi. 6-19). (Rather prostrate thyself.) Ubaidullah made this addition: It was after this that (prostration) was enjoined upon and Ibn Abdul Ala made this addition that by Nadia he meant his people.
Hadith 2844
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ سَمِعَ وَجْبَةً ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَدْرُونَ مَا هَذَا ؟ ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ، قَالَ : " هَذَا حَجَرٌ رُمِيَ بِهِ فِي النَّارِ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا ، فَهُوَ يَهْوِي فِي النَّارِ الْآنَ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى قَعْرِهَا " ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: We were in the company of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) that we heard a terrible sound. Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Do you know what (sound) is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he said: That is a stone which was thrown seventy years before in Hell and it has'been constantly slipping down and now it has reached its base.
Hadith 2844
وحَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ : هَذَا وَقَعَ فِي أَسْفَلِهَا فَسَمِعْتُمْ وَجْبَتَهَا .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abfi Hurairah with the same chain of transmitters but with this change of wording that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) (may. peace be upon him) said: It reached at its base and you heard its sound.
Hadith 2851
حَدَّثَنِي سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ضِرْسُ الْكَافِرِ أَوْ نَابُ الْكَافِرِ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ وَغِلَظُ جِلْدِهِ مَسِيرَةُ ثَلَاثٍ " .
It is transmitted on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The molar tooth of an unbeliever or the canine teeth of an unbeliever will be like Ubud and the thickness of his skin a three night's journey.
Hadith 2852
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْوَكِيعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَرْفَعُهُ ، قَالَ : " مَا بَيْنَ مَنْكِبَيِ الْكَافِرِ فِي النَّارِ ، مَسِيرَةُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ لِلرَّاكِبِ الْمُسْرِعِ " ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْوَكِيعِيُّ فِي النَّارِ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported directly from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) that he said: The distance of the two shoulders of the non-believer in Hell will be a three-day journey for a swift rider.
Hadith 157
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الرِّفَاعِيُّ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ أَبَانَ قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى يَمُرَّ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الْقَبْرِ ، فَيَتَمَرَّغُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَيَقُولُ : يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ مَكَانَ صَاحِبِ هَذَا الْقَبْرِ ، وَلَيْسَ بِهِ الدِّينُ إِلَّا الْبَلَاءُ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The world would not come to an end until a day would come to the people on which the murderer would not know as to why he has killed and the slain would not know as to why he has been murdered. It would be said: Why would It happen? To which he replied: It would be because of general massacre and bloodshed. And the slaughterers and the slain would be in Fire, and in the narration of Ibn Aban, the name of Abu Isma'il has been mentioned.
Hadith 2908
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَا يَدْرِي الْقَاتِلُ فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ قَتَلَ ، وَلَا يَدْرِي الْمَقْتُولُ عَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ قُتِلَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, a time would come when the murderer would not know why he has committed the murder, and the victim would not know why he has been killed.
Hadith 2908
وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ، وَوَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمٌ لَا يَدْرِي الْقَاتِلُ فِيمَ قَتَلَ ، وَلَا الْمَقْتُولُ فِيمَ قُتِلَ " ، فَقِيلَ : كَيْفَ يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : " الْهَرْجُ الْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي النَّارِ " ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ أَبَانَ ، قَالَ هُوَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ : عَنْ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، لَمْ يَذْكُرْ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ .

Hadith 2976
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِيَانِ الْفَزَارِيَّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، وقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّادٍ " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِيَدِهِ مَا أَشْبَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهْلَهُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ تِبَاعًا ، مِنْ خُبْزِ حِنْطَةٍ حَتَّى فَارَقَ الدُّنْيَا " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: By Him in Whose Hand is my life and Ibn 'Abbad also said: By One in Whose hand is the life of Abu Hurairah (RA) , Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) could not afford to provide adequate food to his family which could (fill their bellies) with bread and wheat for three days successively until he left the world.
Hadith 2976
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ مِرَارًا ، يَقُولُ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِيَدِهِ ، مَا شَبِعَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَهْلُهُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ تِبَاعًا مِنْ خُبْزِ حِنْطَةٍ حَتَّى فَارَقَ الدُّنْيَا " .
Abu Hazim reported: I saw Abu Hurairah (RA) point with his finger many a time and saying: By One in Whose Hand is the life of Abu Hurairah (RA) , Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) could not eat to his fill and provide his family bread of wheat beyond three days successively until he left the world.
