Hadith 316
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَالْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لَهُ بَعْضُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَهُمْ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ بِهِ : إِنِّي أَرَى صَاحِبَكُمْ يُعَلِّمُكُمْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى الْخِرَاءَةِ ، قَالَ : أَجَلْ ، " أَمَرَنَا أَنْ لَا نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَلَا نَسْتَنْجِيَ بِأَيْمَانِنَا ، وَلَا نَكْتَفِيَ بِدُونِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا رَجِيعٌ ، وَلَا عَظْمٌ " .
´Salman said that one of the idolaters said to him, while they were making fun of him:` "I see that your companion (the Prophet) is teaching you everything, even how to relieve yourselves?" He said: "Yes indeed. He has ordered us not to face the Qiblah (prayer direction) nor to clean ourselves with our right hands, and not to be content with anything less than three stones, which are not to include any excrement or bones."
Hadith 468
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ السِّمْطِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَضِينُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ مَحْفُوظِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَوَضَّأَ فَقَلَبَ جُبَّةَ صُوفٍ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَمَسَحَ بِهَا وَجْهَهُ " .
´It was narrated from salman Al-Farisi that :` The Messenger of Allah performed ablution, then he turned inside out the woolen garment that he was wearing and wiped his face with it.
Hadith 563
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ مَوْلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ سَلْمَانَ فَرَأَى رَجُلًا يَنْزِعُ خُفَّيْهِ لِلْوُضُوءِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ سَلْمَانُ : امْسَحْ عَلَى خُفَّيْكَ ، وَعَلَى خِمَارِكَ ، وَبِنَاصِيَتِكَ ، فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Muslim, the freed slave of Zaid bin Suhan, said:` "I was with Salman, and he saw a man removing his leather socks for ablution. Salman said to him" 'Wipe over your leather socks and your head cover, and your forehead, for I saw the Messenger of Allah wiping over his leather socks and head cover.'"
Hadith 2234
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُسْتَمِرِّ الْعُرُوقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْسُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْنٌ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ غَدَا إِلَى صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ غَدَا بِرَايَةِ الْإِيمَانِ ، وَمَنْ غَدَا إِلَى السُّوقِ غَدَا بِرَايَةِ إِبْلِيسَ " .
´It was narrated that Salman said :` "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: 'Whoever goes to the Morning prayer first thing in the morning, he goes out with the banner of faith but whoever goes out to the marketplace first thing in the morning, he goes out under the banner of Iblis (Satan).' "
Hadith 3219
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ ، وَنَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَوَّامِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ، قَالَ : " سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْجَرَادِ ، فَقَالَ : أَكْثَرُ جُنُودِ اللَّهِ لَا آكُلُهُ ، وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Salman said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about locusts. He said: ‘(They are) the most numerous troop of Allah. I neither eat them nor forbid them.’”
Hadith 3351
حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ , عَنْ مُوسَى الْجُهَنِيِّ , عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ , عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَلْمَانَ وَأُكْرِهَ عَلَى طَعَامٍ يَأْكُلُهُ , فَقَالَ : حَسْبِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ شِبَعًا فِي الدُّنْيَا , أَطْوَلُهُمْ جُوعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Atiyyah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani said:` “I heard Salman, when he was forced to eat food, say: ‘It is sufficient for me that I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: The people who most eat their fill in this world will be the most hungry on the Day of Resurrection.’”
Hadith 3367
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا سَيْفُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ , عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ , قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ السَّمْنِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْفِرَاءِ , قَالَ : " الْحَلَالُ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ , وَالْحَرَامُ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ , وَمَا سَكَتَ عَنْهُ فَهُوَ مِمَّا عَفَا عَنْهُ " .
´It was narrated that Salman Al-Farisi said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about ghee, cheese and wild donkeys. He said: ‘What is lawful is that which Allah has permitted, in His Book and what is unlawful is that which Allah has forbidden in His Book. What He remained silent about is what is pardoned.’”
Hadith 3564
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ , وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ السِّمْطِ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْوَضِينُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ , عَنْ مَحْفُوظِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ , عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَوَضَّأَ فَقَلَبَ جُبَّةَ صُوفٍ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ , فَمَسَحَ بِهَا وَجْهَهُ " .
It was narrated from Salman Farisi that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed ablution, then he turned his woolen cloak that he was wearing inside out and wiped his face with it.
Hadith 3611
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ لَيْثٍ , عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ , عَنْ سَلْمَانَ , قَالَ : كَانَ لِبَعْضِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ شَاةٌ فَمَاتَتْ , فَمَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهَا , فَقَالَ : " مَا ضَرَّ أَهْلَ هَذِهِ لَوِ انْتَفَعُوا بِإِهَابِهَا " .
´It was narrated that Salman said:` “One of the Mothers of the Believers had a sheep that died. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by it and said: ‘It would not have harmed its owners if they had made use of its hide.’”
Hadith 3865
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ , عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ , عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ , عَنْ سَلْمَانَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ , يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ , فَيَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا أَوْ قَالَ خَائِبَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Salman that the :` Prophet (saas) said: "Your Lord is Kind and Most Generous, and is too kind to let His slave, if he raises his hands to Him, bring them back empty," or he said "frustrated."
Hadith 4104
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ , عَنْ أَنَسٍ , قَالَ : اشْتَكَى سَلْمَانُ , فَعَادَهُ سَعْدٌ فَرَآهُ يَبْكِي , فَقَالَ لَهُ سَعْدٌ : مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا أَخِي , أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَحِبْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ أَلَيْسَ أَلَيْسَ , قَالَ سَلْمَانُ : مَا أَبْكِي وَاحِدَةً مِنَ اثْنَتَيْنِ , مَا أَبْكِي ضِنًّا لِلدُّنْيَا , وَلَا كَرَاهِيَةً لِلْآخِرَةِ , وَلَكِنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ عَهْدًا فَمَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا قَدْ تَعَدَّيْتُ , قَالَ : وَمَا عَهِدَ إِلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : " عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ يَكْفِي أَحَدَكُمْ مِثْلُ زَادِ الرَّاكِبِ , وَلَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا قَدْ تَعَدَّيْتُ , وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا سَعْدُ , فَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ حُكْمِكَ إِذَا حَكَمْتَ , وَعِنْدَ قَسْمِكَ إِذَا قَسَمْتَ , وَعِنْدَ هَمِّكَ إِذَا هَمَمْتَ " , قَالَ ثَابِتٌ : فَبَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ مَا تَرَكَ إِلَّا بِضْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ دِرْهَمًا , مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ .
´It was narrated from Thabit that Anas said:` “Salman felt sick and Sa’d came to visit him, and when he saw him he wept. Sa’d said to him: ‘Why are you weeping, my brother? Are you not a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? Are you not? Are you not?’ Salman said: ‘I am only weeping for one reason: I am not weeping because of longing for this world or for dislike of the Hereafter. But the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave me some advice and I think that I have transgressed.’ He said: ‘What was his advice to you?’ He said: ‘He advised me that something like the provision of a rider is sufficient for anyone of you, and I think that I have transgressed that. As for you, O Sa’d, fear Allah when you pass a verdict, and when you distribute (spoils of war), and when you decide to do anything.’”
