Hadith 267
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَيْحَانَةَ ، عَنْ سَفِينَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ ، وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ " .
´It was narrated that Safinah said:` "The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'."
Hadith 1625
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ سَفِينَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ : " الصَّلَاةَ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ " فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى مَا يَفِيضَ بِهَا لِسَانُهُ .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say, during the illness that would be his last:` “The prayer, and those whom your hands possess.”* And he kept on saying it until his tongue could no longer utter any words.
Hadith 2526
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ ، عَنْ سَفِينَةَ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : " أَعْتَقَتْنِي أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَاشْتَرَطَتْ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَخْدُمَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا عَاشَ " .
´It was narrated from that Safinah - Abu 'Abdur-Rahman-said :` “Umm Salamah freed me but stipulated that I should serve the Prophet (ﷺ) as long he lived.”
Hadith 3360
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَزَرِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُمْهَانَ , حَدَّثَنَا سَفِينَةُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَضَافَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ , فَصَنَعَ لَهُ طَعَامًا , فَقَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ : لَوْ دَعَوْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَكَلَ مَعَنَا , فَدَعَوْهُ فَجَاءَ , فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى عِضَادَتَيِ الْبَابِ , فَرَأَى قِرَامًا فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْبَيْتِ , فَرَجَعَ , فَقَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ لِعَلِيٍّ : الْحَقْ فَقُلْ لَهُ : مَا رَجَعَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَ بَيْتًا مُزَوَّقًا " .
´Safinah, Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman, narrated that a man visited ‘Ali bin Abu Talib and he made some food for him.* Fatimah said:` “Why don’t we invite the Prophet (ﷺ) to eat with us?” So they invited him and he came. He put his hand on the doorpost of the house and saw a thin curtain in the corner of the house, so he went back. Fatimah said to ‘Ali: “Go and catch up with him, and ask him: ‘What made you go back, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “I do not enter a well-decorated house.”
