Hadith 700
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " يُصَلِّي عَلَى حِمَارٍ ، وَهُوَ مُوَجِّهٌ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ " .
Ibn 'Umar reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) praying (Nafl prayer) on a donkey's back while his face was turned towards Khaibar.
Hadith 700
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَسِيرُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ ، قَالَ سَعِيدٌ : فَلَمَّا خَشِيتُ الصُّبْحَ ، نَزَلْتُ فَأَوْتَرْتُ ، ثُمَّ أَدْرَكْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ لِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ : أَيْنَ كُنْتَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : خَشِيتُ الْفَجْرَ ، فَنَزَلْتُ فَأَوْتَرْتُ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : أَلَيْسَ لَكَ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أُسْوَةٌ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : بَلَى وَاللَّهِ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " كَانَ يُوتِرُ عَلَى الْبَعِيرِ " .
Sa'id bin Yasar reported: I was travelling along with Ibn 'Umar on the way to Makkah. Sa'id said: When I apprehended dawn, I dismounted (the ride) and observed Witr prayer and then again joined him. Ibn 'Umar said to me: Where were you? I said: I apprehended the appearance of dawn, so I dismounted and observed Witr prayer. Upon this 'Abdullah said: Is there not a model pattern for you in the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ? I said: Yes, by Allah, and (then) he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to observe Witr prayer on the camel's back.
Hadith 727
وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَزَارِيُّ يَعْنِي مَرْوَانَ بْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ، فِي الأُولَى مِنْهُمَا قُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا سورة البقرة آية 136 الآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي الْبَقَرَةِ ، وَفِي الآخِرَةِ مِنْهُمَا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ سورة آل عمران آية 52 " .
Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in first of the two (supererogatory) rak'ahs of the dawn:" Say: We believed in Allah and what was revealed to us..." verses 285-286 from Surah Baqarah, and in the second of the two: "I believe in Allah and I bear testimony that we are Muslims" (iii. 51).
Hadith 727
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْرَأُ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ قُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا سورة البقرة آية 136 ، وَالَّتِي فِي آلِ عِمْرَانَ ، تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ سورة آل عمران آية 64 " .
Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in the two (supererogatory) rak'ahs of the dawn prayer: "Say: We believed in Allah and what was revealed to us" and that which is found in Surah Al-i-'Imran:" Come to that word (creed) which is common between you and us" (iii. 64).
Hadith 1010
وحَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ بِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَرِّدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ يُصْبِحُ الْعِبَادُ فِيهِ ، إِلَّا مَلَكَانِ يَنْزِلَانِ ، فَيَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا : اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُنْفِقًا خَلَفًا ، وَيَقُولُ الْآخَرُ اللَّهُمَّ : أَعْطِ مُمْسِكًا تَلَفًا " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is never a day wherein servants (of God) get up at morn, but are not visited by two angels. One of them says: O Allah, give him more who spends (for the sake of Allah), and the other says: O Allah, bring destruction to one who withholds.
Hadith 1014
وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا تَصَدَّقَ أَحَدٌ بِصَدَقَةٍ مِنْ طَيِّبٍ ، وَلَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا الطَّيِّبَ ، إِلَّا أَخَذَهَا الرَّحْمَنُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ تَمْرَةً ، فَتَرْبُو فِي كَفِّ الرَّحْمَنِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ أَعْظَمَ مِنَ الْجَبَلِ ، كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فَلُوَّهُ أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (tray peace be upon him) as saying: If anyone gives as Sadaqa the equivalent of a date from that (earning) earned honestly, for Allah accepts that which is lawful, the Lord would accept it with His Right Hand, and even if it is a date, it would foster in the Hand of the Lord, as one of you fosters his colt, till it becomes bigger than a mountain.
Hadith 1382
وحدثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحُبَابِ سَعِيدَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ بِقَرْيَةٍ تَأْكُلُ الْقُرَى ، يَقُولُونَ : يَثْرِبَ وَهِيَ الْمَدِينَةُ ، تَنْفِي النَّاسَ كَمَا يَنْفِي الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ " ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: I have been commanded (to migrate) to a town (Madinah) which would overpower other towns. They (the people) call it Yathrib; its correct name is (in fact) Madinah. It eliminates (bad) people just as a furnace removes the alloy of iron.
Hadith 1588
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الدِّينَارُ بِالدِّينَارِ لَا فَضْلَ بَيْنَهُمَا ، وَالدِّرْهَمُ بِالدِّرْهَمِ لَا فَضْلَ بَيْنَهُمَا " ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Let dinar be exchanged for dinar, with no addition on either side and dirham be exchanged for dirham with no addition on either side.
Hadith 2106
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِح ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَبِي الْحُبَابِ مَوْلَى بَنِي النَّجَّارِ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قال : سمعت رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا تَمَاثِيلُ " ،
Abu Talha reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture. Busr said: Zaid bin Khalid fell sick and we visited him to inquire after his health. As we were in his house (we saw) a curtain having pictures on it. I said to 'Ubaidullah Khaulani: Did he not narrate to us (the Holy Prophet's command pertaining to pictures)? Thereupon he said: He in fact did that (but he also said): Except the prints upon the cloth. Did you not hear this? I said: No, whereupon He said: He had in fact made a mention of this.
Hadith 2554
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جَمِيلِ بْنِ طَرِيفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي مُزَرِّدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي أَبُو الْحُبَابِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ ، حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْهُمْ قَامَتِ الرَّحِمُ ، فَقَالَتْ : هَذَا مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ مِنَ الْقَطِيعَةِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، أَمَا تَرْضَيْنَ أَنْ أَصِلَ مَنْ وَصَلَكِ ، وَأَقْطَعَ مَنْ قَطَعَكِ ؟ قَالَت : بَلَى ، قَالَ : فَذَاكِ لَكِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ : فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ { 22 } أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ { 23 } أَفَلا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْءَانَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا { 24 } سورة محمد آية 22-24 " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Verily Allah created the universe and when He had finished that, ties of relationship came forward and said This is the place for him who seeks refuge from severing (of blood-relationship). He said: Yes. Are you not satisfied that I should keep relationship with one who joins your ties of relationship and sever it with one who severs your (ties of relationship)? They (the ties of blood) said: Certainly so. Thereupon He said: Well, that is how things are for you. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then said: Recite if you like:" But if you turn away you are sure to make mischief in the land and cut off the ties of kinship. Those it is whom Allah has cursed, so He has made them deaf and blinded their eyes. Do they not reflect on the Qur'an? Or, are there locks on their hearts?".
Hadith 2566
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحُبَابِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ : أَيْنَ الْمُتَحَابُّونَ بِجَلَالِي الْيَوْمَ ، أُظِلُّهُمْ فِي ظِلِّي يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلِّي " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Verily. Allah would say on the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who have mutual love for My Glory's sake? Today I shall shelter them in My shadow when there is no other shadow but the shadow of Mine.
