Hadith 78
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَوَكِيعٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ ، قَال : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِيَدِهِ عُودٌ فَنَكَتَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ كُتِبَ مَقْعَدُهُ مِنِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَمَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " ، قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا نَتَّكِلُ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، اعْمَلُوا ، وَلَا تَتَّكِلُوا ، فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى { 5 } وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى { 6 } فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى { 7 } وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى { 8 } وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى { 9 } فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى { 10 } سورة الليل آية 5-10 .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "We were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) and he had a stick in his hand. He scratched in the ground with it, then raised his head and said: 'There is no one among you but his place in Paradise or Hell has already been decreed.' He was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, should we not then rely upon that?' He said: 'No, strive and do not rely upon that, for it will be made easy for each person to do that for which he was created.' Then he recited: "As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, and believes in Al-Husna. We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. And denies Al-Husna. We will make smooth for him the path for evil. "
Hadith 211
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، وَسُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَالَ شُعْبَة : " خَيْرُكُمْ " ، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ : " أَفْضَلُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ " .
´It was narrated that 'Uthman bin 'Affan said that:` The Messenger of Allah said: (According to one of the narrators) Shu'bah (he) said: 'The best of you' (and according to) Sufyan (he) said: "The most excellent of you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it."
Hadith 897
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ بْنِ الْأَحْنَفِ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ : " يَقُولُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ : رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي ، رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي " .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say between the two prostrations:` “Rabbighfir li, Rabbighfir li (O Lord forgive me, O Lord forgive me).”
Hadith 1351
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ بْنِ الْأَحْنَفِ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَّى ، فَكَانَ إِذَا مَرَّ بِآيَةِ رَحْمَةٍ سَأَلَ ، وَإِذَا مَرَّ بِآيَةِ عَذَابٍ اسْتَجَارَ ، وَإِذَا مَرَّ بِآيَةٍ فِيهَا تَنْزِيهٌ لِلَّهِ سَبَّحَ " .
It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed, and when he recited a Verse which mentioned mercy, he would ask for mercy; when he recited a Verse that mentioned punishment he would pray for deliverance from it; and when he recited a Verse that mentioned the Tanzih of Allah, he would glorify Him.
Hadith 4269
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ , عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ سورة إبراهيم آية 27 , قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ , يُقَالُ لَهُ : مَنْ رَبُّكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ , وَنَبِيِّي مُحَمَّدٌ , فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ : يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ سورة إبراهيم آية 27 " .
´It was narrated from Bara’ bin ‘Azib that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm.” [14:27] This has been revealed concerning the torment of the grave. It will be said to him: ‘Who is your Lord?’ He will say: ‘My Lord is Allah, and my Prophet is Muhammad.’ This is what Allah says: Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter (i.e., at the time of questioning in the grave).’” [14:27]
