Hadith 89
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " اجْتَنِبُوا السَّبْعَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ " ، قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا هُنَّ ؟ قَالَ : " الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ ، وَالسِّحْرُ ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ، وَأَكْلُ مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ ، وَأَكْلُ الرِّبَا ، وَالتَّوَلِّي يَوْمَ الزَّحْفِ ، وَقَذْفُ الْمُحْصِنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ " .
It is reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: Avoid the seven noxious things. It was said (by the hearers): What are they, Messenger of Allah? (ﷺ) He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Associating anything with Allah, magic, killing of one whom God has declared inviolate without a just cause, consuming the property of an orphan, and consuming of usury, turning back when the army advances, and slandering chaste women who are believers, but unwary.
Hadith 115
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الدُّؤَلِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ مَوْلَى ابْنِ مُطِيعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَهَذَا حَدِيثُهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ ، فَفَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا ، فَلَمْ نَغْنَمْ ذَهَبًا ، وَلَا وَرِقًا ، غَنِمْنَا الْمَتَاعَ ، وَالطَّعَامَ ، وَالثِّيَابَ ، ثُمَّ انْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى الْوَادِي ، وَمَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبْدٌ لَهُ وَهَبَهُ ، لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ جُذَامٍ يُدْعَى رِفَاعَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ مِنْ بَنِي الضُّبَيْبِ ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلْنَا الْوَادِي ، قَامَ عَبْدُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَحُلُّ رَحْلَهُ ، فَرُمِيَ بِسَهْمٍ فَكَانَ فِيهِ حَتْفُهُ ، فَقُلْنَا : هَنِيئًا لَهُ الشَّهَادَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَلَّا ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ الشَّمْلَةَ لَتَلْتَهِبُ عَلَيْهِ نَارًا ، أَخَذَهَا مِنَ الْغَنَائِمِ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ لَمْ تُصِبْهَا الْمَقَاسِمُ ، قَالَ : فَفَزِعَ النَّاسُ ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ بِشِرَاكٍ ، أَوْ شِرَاكَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَصَبْتُ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " شِرَاكٌ مِنَ نَارٍ ، أَوْ شِرَاكَانِ مِنَ نَارٍ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) : We went to Khaibar along with the Apostle (ﷺ) and Allah granted us victory. We plundered neither gold nor silver but laid our hands on goods, corn and clothes, and then bent our stops to a valley; along with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) there was a slave who was presented to him by one Rifa'a bin Zaid of the family of Judham, a tribe of Dubayb. When we got down into the valley the slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and began to unpack the saddle-bag and was suddenly struck by a (stray) arrow which proved fatal. We said: There is a greeting for him, Messenger of Allah, as he is a martyr. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) remarked: Nay, not so. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, the small garment which he stole from the booty on the day of Khaibar but which did not (legitimately) fall to his lot is burning like the Fire (of Hell) on him. The people were greatly perturbed (on hearing this). A person came there with a lace or two laces and said: Messenger of Allah, I found (them) on the day of Khaibar. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: This is a lace of fire or two laces of fire.
Hadith 2546
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذْ نَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَلَمَّا قَرَأَ : وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ سورة الجمعة آية 3 ، قَالَ رَجُلٌ : مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ فَلَمْ يُرَاجِعْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى سَأَلَهُ مَرَّةً ، أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، قَالَ : وَفِينَا سَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ ، قَالَ فَوَضَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ عَلَى سَلْمَانَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " لَوْ كَانَ الْإِيمَانُ عِنْدَ الثُّرَيَّا لَنَالَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: We were sitting in the company of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) that Sura al-Jumu'a was revealed to him and when he recited (these words):" Others from amongst them who have not yet joined them," a person amongst them (those who were sitting there) said: Allah's Messenger! But Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) made no reply, until he questioned him once, twice or thrice. And there was amongst us Salman the Persian. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) placed his hand on Salman and then said: Even if faith were near the Pleiades, a man from amongst these would surely find it.
Hadith 2863
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْعَرَقَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَيَذْهَبُ فِي الْأَرْضِ سَبْعِينَ بَاعًا ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَبْلُغُ إِلَى أَفْوَاهِ النَّاسِ أَوْ إِلَى آذَانِهِمْ " يَشُكُّ ثَوْرٌ أَيَّهُمَا قَالَ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as say- ing: The perspiration would spread on the Day of Resurrection upon the earth to the extent of seventy cubits and it would reach up to their mouths or up to their ears. Thaur is not sure (which words) he used (mouth or ears).
Hadith 2909
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " ذُو السُّوَيْقَتَيْنِ مِنْ الْحَبَشَةِ يُخَرِّبُ بَيْتَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: It would be an Abyssinian having two small shanks who would destroy the House ol Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.
Hadith 2910
وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَحْطَانَ يَسُوقُ النَّاسَ بِعَصَاهُ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messengar (ﷺ) as saying: The Last Hour would not come before a person of Qahtan comes forth driving people with his stick.
Hadith 2920
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ الدِّيلِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " سَمِعْتُمْ بِمَدِينَةٍ جَانِبٌ مِنْهَا فِي الْبَرِّ ، وَجَانِبٌ مِنْهَا فِي الْبَحْرِ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَغْزُوَهَا سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْحَاقَ ، فَإِذَا جَاءُوهَا نَزَلُوا ، فَلَمْ يُقَاتِلُوا بِسِلَاحٍ وَلَمْ يَرْمُوا بِسَهْمٍ ، قَالُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، فَيَسْقُطُ أَحَدُ جَانِبَيْهَا ، قَالَ : ثَوْرٌ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا ، قَالَ : الَّذِي فِي الْبَحْرِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُوا الثَّانِيَةَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، فَيَسْقُطُ جَانِبُهَا الْآخَرُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُوا الثَّالِثَةَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، فَيُفَرَّجُ لَهُمْ فَيَدْخُلُوهَا ، فَيَغْنَمُوا فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ يَقْتَسِمُونَ الْمَغَانِمَ إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الصَّرِيخُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ الدَّجَّالَ قَدْ خَرَجَ فَيَتْرُكُونَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَيَرْجِعُونَ " ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) saying: You have heard about a city the one side of which is in the land and the other is in the sea (Constantinople). They said: Allah's Messenger, yes. Thereupon he said: The Last Hour would not come unless seventy thousand persons from Bani lsra'il would attack it. When they would land there, they will neither fight with weapons nor would shower arrows but would only say: "There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," that one side of it would fall. Thaur (one of the narrators) said: I think that he said: The part by the side of the ocean. Then they would say for the second time: "There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest" that the second side would also fall, and they would say: "There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," that the gates would be opened for them and they would enter therein and, they would be collecting spoils of war and distributing them amongst themselves that a noise would be heard and It would be said: Verily, Dajjal has come. And thus they would leave everything there and would turn to him.
Hadith 2982
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " السَّاعِي عَلَى الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْكِينِ كَالْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ : وَكَالْقَائِمِ لَا يَفْتُرُ وَكَالصَّائِمِ لَا يُفْطِرُ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: One who makes efforts (for earning to be spent) on a widow and the destitute is like a striver in the cause of Allah, and I think he also said: He is like one who constantly stands for prayer and observes fast without breaking it.
Hadith 2983
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الدِّيلِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْغَيْثِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ أَنَا وَهُوَ كَهَاتَيْنِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " ، وَأَشَارَ مَالِكٌ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: One who looks after the orphan whether he is his relative or not, I and he would be together in Paradise like this, and Malik (explained it) with the gesture by drawing his index finger and middle finger close together.
