Hadith 31
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، وَإِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَكْذِبُوا عَلَيَّ فَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ عَلَيَّ يُولِجُ النَّارَ " .
´It was narrated from that 'Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Do not tell lies about me, for telling lies about me leads to Hell (Fire)."
Hadith 81
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُؤْمِنُ عَبْدٌ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَ بِأَرْبَعٍ ، بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، وَبِالْبَعْثِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ ، وَالْقَدَرِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'No slave truly believes until he believes in four things: in Allah alone with no partner; that I am the Messenger of Allah; in the resurrection after death; and in the Divine Decree (Qadar).'"
Hadith 97
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِرِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي مَا قَدْرُ بَقَائِي فِيكُمْ ، فَاقْتَدُوا بِاللَّذَيْنِ مِنْ بَعْدِي ، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ " .
´It was narrated that Hudhaifah bin Yaman said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'I do not know how long I will stay among you, so follow the example of these two after I am gone,' and he pointed to Abu Bakr and `Umar."
Hadith 1021
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ ، وَلَكِنْ ابْزُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِكَ ، أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ " .
´It was narrated that Tariq bin ‘Abdullah Al-Muharibi said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘When you perform prayer, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but spit to your left or beneath your feet.’”
Hadith 1083
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، وَعَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَضَلَّ اللَّهُ عَنِ الْجُمُعَةِ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا ، كَانَ لِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ ، وَالْأَحَدُ لِلنَّصَارَى ، فَهُمْ لَنَا تَبَعٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا ، وَالْأَوَّلُونَ الْمَقْضِيُّ لَهُمْ قَبْلَ الْخَلَائِقِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Allah led those who came before us astray from Friday. Saturday was for the Jews and Sunday was for the Christians. And they will lag behind us until the Day of Resurrection. We are the last of the people of this world but we will be the first to be judged among all of creation.’”
Hadith 2118
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَأَى فِي النَّوْمِ ، أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ : فَقَالَ : نِعْمَ ، الْقَوْمُ أَنْتُمْ لَوْلَا أَنَّكُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ ، تَقُولُونَ : مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، وَشَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَا وَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَعْرِفُهَا لَكُمْ قُولُوا : مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، ثُمَّ شَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ " .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah bin Yaman that :` a Muslim man saw in a dream that he met a man from among the People of the Book, who said: "What good people you would be if only you were not committing Shirk. For you say: 'What Allah wills and Muhammad wills."' He mentioned that to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: "By Allah, I am aware of that. Say: 'What Allah wills then what Muhammad wills."'Another chain from Tufail bin Sakhbarah, the brother of 'Aishah by her mother, from the Prophet (ﷺ), with similar wording.
Hadith 2420
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رِبْعِيَّ بْنَ حِرَاشٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَاتَ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : مَا عَمِلْتَ ؟ فَإِمَّا ذَكَرَ أَوْ ذُكِّرَ ، قَالَ : إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَتَجَوَّزُ فِي السِّكَّةِ وَالنَّقْدِ وَأُنْظِرُ الْمُعْسِرَ فَغَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ : أَنَا قَدْ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “A man died and it was said to him: 'What did you do?' Either he remembered or was reminded and said: 'I used to be easy going in coins and cash collecting debts due, and I used to give respite to (the debtor) who was in difficulty. So, Allah (SWT) forgave him.' ” Abu Masud said: “I heard that from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).”
Hadith 3880
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ , عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ , عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ , قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا انْتَبَهَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ , قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ " .
´It was narrated that Hudhaifah said:` “Whenever the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) woke up in the morning, he would say: ‘Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba’dama amatana wa ilayhi’n-nushur (Praise is to Allah Who has given us life after taking it from us, and unto Him is the Resurrection).’”
Hadith 3965
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ , عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ , عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا الْمُسْلِمَانِ حَمَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى أَخِيهِ السِّلَاحَ فَهُمَا عَلَى جُرُفِ جَهَنَّمَ , فَإِذَا قَتَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ دَخَلَاهَا جَمِيعًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Bakrah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “When one Muslim wields his weapon against his brother, both of them are at the edge of Hell, and if one of them kills the other, they will both enter it.”
Hadith 4049
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ , عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ , عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ , قَالَ : قَال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَدْرُسُ الْإِسْلَامُ كَمَا يَدْرُسُ وَشْيُ الثَّوْبِ , حَتَّى لَا يُدْرَى مَا صِيَامٌ , وَلَا صَلَاةٌ , وَلَا نُسُكٌ , وَلَا صَدَقَةٌ , وَلَيُسْرَى عَلَى كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي لَيْلَةٍ , فَلَا يَبْقَى فِي الْأَرْضِ مِنْهُ آيَةٌ , وَتَبْقَى طَوَائِفُ مِنَ النَّاسِ , الشَّيْخُ الْكَبِيرُ وَالْعَجُوزُ , يَقُولُونَ : أَدْرَكْنَا آبَاءَنَا عَلَى هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَةِ , لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , فَنَحْنُ نَقُولُهَا " , فَقَالَ لَهُ صِلَةُ : مَا تُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , وَهُمْ لَا يَدْرُونَ مَا صَلَاةٌ , وَلَا صِيَامٌ , وَلَا نُسُكٌ , وَلَا صَدَقَةٌ ؟ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ حُذَيْفَةُ , ثُمَّ رَدَّهَا عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا , كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يُعْرِضُ عَنْهُ حُذَيْفَةُ , ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ , فَقَالَ : يَا صِلَةُ تُنْجِيهِمْ مِنَ النَّارِ , ثَلاثًا .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah bin Yaman that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Islam will wear out as embroidery on a garment wears out, until no one will know what fasting, prayer, (pilgrimage) rites and charity are. The Book of Allah will be taken away at night, and not one Verse of it will be left on earth. And there will be some people left, old men and old women, who will say: “We saw our fathers saying these words: ‘La ilaha illallah’ so we say them too.” Silah said to him: “What good will (saying): La ilaha illallah do them, when they do not know what fasting, prayer, (pilgrimage) rites and charity are?” Hudhaifah turned away from his. He repeated his question three times, and Hudhaifah turned away from him each time. Then he turned to him on the third time and said: “O Silah! It will save them from Hell,” three times.
Hadith 4183
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ , حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ , عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ , عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ , عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِمَّا أَدْرَكَ النَّاسُ مِنْ كَلَامِ النُّبُوَّةِ الْأُولَى , إِذَا لَمْ تَسْتَحْيِ فَاصْنَعْ مَا شِئْتَ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amr, Abu Mas’ud, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Among the words that people learned from the earlier Prophets are: ‘If you feel no shame, then do as you wish.’”
Hadith 4302
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ , عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ سَعْدِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ , عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ , عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ حَوْضِي لَأَبْعَدُ مِنْ أَيْلَةَ إِلَى عَدَنَ , وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , لَآنِيَتُهُ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ عَدَدِ النُّجُومِ , وَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ , وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ , وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , إِنِّي لَأَذُودُ عَنْهُ الرِّجَالَ كَمَا يَذُودُ الرَّجُلُ الْإِبِلَ الْغَرِيبَةَ عَنْ حَوْضِهِ " , قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَعْرِفُنَا ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ , تَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ , لَيْسَتْ لِأَحَدٍ غَيْرِكُمْ " .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “My Cistern is wider than the distance between Ailah and ‘Aden. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, its vessels are more numerous than the number of stars, and it is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I will drive men away from it as a man drives strange camels away from his cistern.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, will you recognize us?” He said: “Yes, you will come to me with radiant faces, hands and feet, because of the traces of ablution, and this is not for anyone but you.”
Hadith 4311
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَسَدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَدْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ , عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ , عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ , عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خُيِّرْتُ بَيْنَ الشَّفَاعَةِ وَبَيْنَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ نِصْفُ أُمَّتِي الْجَنَّةَ , فَاخْتَرْتُ الشَّفَاعَةَ لِأَنَّهَا أَعَمُّ وَأَكْفَى , أَتُرَوْنَهَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَا , وَلَكِنَّهَا لِلْمُذْنِبِينَ الْخَطَّائِينَ الْمُتَلَوِّثِينَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “I was given the choice between being admitted to Paradise, and I chose intercession, because it is more general and more sufficient. Do you think it is for the pious? No, it is for the impure sinners.”
