Hadith 159
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr (RA) that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) one day said: Do you know where the sun goes? The remaining part of the hadith is the same.
Hadith 184
This hadith is transmitted by 'Amr bin Yahya with the same chain of transmitters who narrated: They would be cast into the river which is called (the river of) life, and (both the narrators) did not doubt the hadith. The text transmitted by Khalid is: just as seeds sprout beside the flood water; and in the hadith of Wuhaib it is: Just as the seed sprouts in the silt or deposit left by flood.
Hadith 235

أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لَهُ : " تَوَضَّأْ لَنَا وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ ، فَأَكْفَأَ مِنْهَا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ مِنْ كَفٍّ وَاحِدَةٍ ، فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ، مَرَّتَيْنِ ، مَرَّتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا ، فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَدْبَرَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : هَكَذَا كَانَ وُضُوءُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
'Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim al-Ansari (RA), who was a Companion (of the Holy Prophet), reported: It was said to him (by people): Perform for us the ablution (as it was performed) by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . He ('Abdullah bin Zaid) called for a vessel (of water), and poured water from it on his hands and washed them three times. Then he inserted his hand (in the vessel) and brought it (water) out, rinsed his mouth and snuffed up water from the palm of one hand doing that three times, He again inserted his hand and brought it out and washed his face three times, then inserted his hand and brought it out and washed each arm up to the elbow thrice, then inserted his hand and brought it out and wiped his head both front and back with his hands. He then washed his feet up to the ankles, and then said: This is how God's Messenger (peace be upon him) performed ablution.
Hadith 270
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered an enclosure while a servant was following him with a jar of water and he was the youngest amongst us and he placed it by the side of a lote-tree. When the Messenger of Allah, (ﷺ) relieved himself, he came out and had cleansed himself with water.
Hadith 288
Alqama and Aswad reported: A person stayed in the house of A'isha and in the morning began to wash his garment. A'isha said: In case you saw it (i. e. drop of semen), it would have served the purpose (of purifying the garment) if you had simply washed that spot; and in case you did not see it, it would have been enough to sprinkle water around it, for when I saw that on the garment of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , I simply scraped it off and he offered prayer, while putting that on.
Hadith 294
Maimuna (the wife of the Holy Prophet) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) contacted and embraced his wives over the waist-wrapper when they were menstruating.
Hadith 389
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When the Mu'adhdhin calls to prayer, Satan runs back vehemently.
Hadith 391
Abu Qilaba reported that he saw Malik bin Huwairith raising his hands at the beginning of prayer and raising his hands before kneeling down, and raising his hands after lifting his head from the state of kneeling, and he narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do like this.
Hadith 450
'Abdullah (b. Mas'ud) said: I was not with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) but I wish I were with him.
Hadith 513
Maimuna, the wife of the Apostle (ﷺ) , reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said prayer and I (lay) opposite to him while I was in menses. Sometimes his clothes touched me when he prostrated.
Hadith 597
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone extols Allah after every prayer thirty-three times, and praises Allah thirty-three times, and declares His Greatness thirty-three times, ninety-nine times in all, and says to complete a hundred: "There is no god but Allah, having no partner with Him, to Him belongs sovereignty and to Him is praise due, and He is Potent over everything," his sins will be forgiven even if these are as abundant as the foam of the sea.
Hadith 513
Maimuna, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) , reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said prayer while I was by his side, and at times when he prostrated his cloth touched me, and he prayed on a small mat.
Hadith 863
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported: I was along with the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) on Friday when a caravan arrived. The people went to it, and none but twelve persons were left behind and I was one of them; and it was on this occasion that this verse was revealed:" And when they see merchandise or sport they break away to it, and leave thee standing" (lxii. 1 1).
Hadith 881
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: When any one of you observes the Jumu'a prayer (two obligatory rak'ahs in congregation), he should observe four (rak'ahs) afterwards.

عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَحَدَّثَنَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ذُكِرَ لَهُ صَوْمِي فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ ، فَأَلْقَيْتُ لَهُ وِسَادَةً مِنْ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ ، فَجَلَسَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ وَصَارَتِ الْوِسَادَةُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ ، فَقَالَ لِي : " أَمَا يَكْفِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ؟ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " خَمْسًا " . قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " سَبْعًا " . قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " تِسْعًا " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " أَحَدَ عَشَرَ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا صَوْمَ فَوْقَ صَوْمِ دَاوُدَ ، شَطْرُ الدَّهْرِ ، صِيَامُ يَوْمٍ وَإِفْطَارُ يَوْمٍ " .
Abu Qatadah (RA) reported that Abu al Malih informed me: I went along with your father to 'Abdullah bin 'Amr (RA), and he narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was informed about my fasting and he came to me, and I placed a leather cushion filled with fibre of date-palms for him. He sat down upon the ground and there was that cushion between me and him, and he said to me: Does three days' fasting in a month not suffice you? I said: Messenger of Allah, (I am capable of observing more fasts). He said: (Would) five (not suffice for you)? I said: Messenger of Allah, (I am capable of observing more fasts) He said: (Would) seven (fasts) not suffice you? I said: Messenger of Allah, (I am capable of observing more fasts). He (the Holy Prophet) then said: (Would) nine (fasts not suffice you)? I said: Messenger of Allah, (I am capable of observing more fasts). He said: (Would) eleven (fasts not suffice you)? I said: Messenger of Allah, (I am capable of observing more fasts than these). Thereupon the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: There is no fasting (better than) the fasting of David which comprises half of the age, fasting a day and not fasting a day.
Hadith 1201
Ka'b bin Ujra (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) happened to pass by him during the period of Hudaibiya. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said to him (Ka'b bin Ujra): Do these vermins trouble your head? He said: Yes. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Shave your head. Then sacrifice a goat or observe fasts for three days or give three sits of dates to feed six needy persons.
Hadith 1320
Ziyad bin Jubair reported that Ibn 'Umar came upon a person who was slaughtering (sacrificing) his camel and had made him kneel down. So he told him to make it stand up festered (and then sacrifice it) according to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) .
Hadith 154
Abu Musa reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said about one who emancipated a slave woman, and then married her, that for him there are two rewards.
Hadith 1471

أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ الَّتِي طَلَّقَ ، فقَالَ : طَلَّقْتُهَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِعُمَرَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَ : " مُرْهُ ، فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا ، فَإِذَا طَهُرَتْ ، فَلْيُطَلِّقْهَا لِطُهْرِهَا " ، قَالَ : فَرَاجَعْتُهَا ، ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُهَا ، لِطُهْرِهَا ، قُلْتُ : فَاعْتَدَدْتَ بِتِلْكَ التَّطْلِيقَةِ ، الَّتِي طَلَّقْتَ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ، قَالَ : مَا لِيَ لَا أَعْتَدُّ بِهَا وَإِنْ كُنْتُ عَجَزْتُ وَاسْتَحْمَقْتُ .
Anas bin Sirin reported: I asked Ibn 'Umar (RA) about the woman whom he had divorced. He said: I divorced her while she was in the state of menses. It was mentioned to 'Umar (RA) and he then made a mention of that to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) , whereupon he said: Command him to take her back and when the period of menses is over, then (he may divorce her in the state of her purity. He ( Ibn 'Umar (RA) ) said: So I took her back, then divorced her in her purity. I (the narrator) said: Did you count that divorce which you pronounced in the state of menses? He said: Why should I not have counted that? Was I helpless or foolish?

Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having forbidden taking of rent or share of land.

Hadith 1742
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abu Aufa that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the tribes who had marched upon Madinah with a combined force in and said: O Allah, Revealer of the Book, swift in (taking) account, put the tribes to rout. O Lord, defeat them and shake them.

It has been narrated on the authority of Aba Sa'id al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When oath of allegiance has been taken for two caliphs, kill the one for whom the oath was taken later.
Hadith 1856
It has been narrated on the authority of Salim bin Abu al-Ja'd who said: I asked Jabir bin 'Abdullah about the number of the Companions (of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) who took the oath of fealty under) the tree. He said: If we were a hundred thousand, it (i. e. the water in the well at Hudaibiya) would have sufficed us, but actually we were one thousand and five hundred.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا يَعْدِلُ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ؟ ، قَالَ : لَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَهُ " ، قَالَ : فَأَعَادُوا عَلَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا كُلُّ ذَلِكَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَهُ " ، وَقَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ : " مَثَلُ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ الْقَانِتِ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ، لَا يَفْتُرُ مِنْ صِيَامٍ وَلَا صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ الْمُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى " ،
It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked: What deed could be an equivalent of Jihad in the way of Allah, the Almighty and Exalted? He answered: You do not have the strength to do that deed. The narrator said: They repeated the question twice or thrice. Every time he answered: You do not have the strength to do it. When the question was asked for the third time, he said: One who goes out for Jibad is like a person who keeps fasts, stands in prayer (constantly), (obeying) Allah's (behests contained in) the verses (of the Qur'an), and does not exhibit any lassitude in fasting and prayer until the Mujihid returns from Jihad in the way of Allah, the Exalted.
Hadith 1915
A version of the tradition narrated on the authority of Suhail contains the additional words:" And one who is drowned is a martyr."
Hadith 1961
وحَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا

الْبَرَاءِ ، قَالَ : ضَحَّى خَالِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تِلْكَ شَاةُ لَحْمٍ ؟ " ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ عِنْدِي جَذَعَةً مِنَ الْمَعْزِ ، فَقَالَ : " ضَحِّ بِهَا وَلَا تَصْلُحُ لِغَيْرِكَ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " مَنْ ضَحَّى قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّمَا ذَبَحَ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ ذَبَحَ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَدْ تَمَّ نُسُكُهُ وَأَصَابَ سُنَّةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " .
Al-Bara' reported: My maternal uncle Abu Burda sacrificed his animal before ('Id) prayer. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: That is a goat (slaughtered for the sake of) flesh (and not as a sacrifice on the day of Adha). He said: I have a lamb of six months. Thereupon he said: Offer it as a sacrifice, but it will not justify for anyone except you, and then said: He who sacrificed (the animal) before ('Id) prayer, he in fact slaughtered it for his own self, and he who slaughtered after prayer, his ritual of sacrifice became complete and he in fact observed the religious practice of the Muslims.

أَسْمَاءُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَتْ : بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تُحَرِّمُ أَشْيَاءَ ثَلَاثَةً الْعَلَمَ فِي الثَّوْبِ ، وَمِيثَرَةَ الْأُرْجُوَانِ ، وَصَوْمَ رَجَبٍ كُلِّهِ ، فَقَالَ لِي
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : أَمَّا مَا ذَكَرْتَ مِنْ رَجَبٍ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ يَصُومُ الْأَبَدَ ؟ وَأَمَّا مَا ذَكَرْتَ مِنَ الْعَلَمِ فِي الثَّوْبِ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ
عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، يقول : سمعت رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ الْحَرِيرَ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ " ، فَخِفْتُ أَنْ يَكُونَ الْعَلَمُ مِنْهُ ، وَأَمَّا مِيثَرَةُ الْأُرْجُوَانِ فَهَذِهِ مِيثَرَةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَإِذَا هِيَ أُرْجُوَانٌ ، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى أَسْمَاءَ فَخَبَّرْتُهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : هَذِهِ جُبَّةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيَّ جُبَّةَ طَيَالِسَةٍ كِسْرَوَانِيَّةٍ لَهَا لِبْنَةُ دِيبَاجٍ ، وَفَرْجَيْهَا مَكْفُوفَيْنِ بِالدِّيبَاجِ فَقَالَتْ : هَذِهِ كَانَتْ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ ، حَتَّى قُبِضَتْ ، فَلَمَّا قُبِضَتْ قَبَضْتُهَا ، وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَلْبَسُهَا فَنَحْنُ نَغْسِلُهَا لِلْمَرْضَى يُسْتَشْفَى بِهَا .
Abdullah. the freed slave of Asma' (the daughter of Abu Bakr). the maternal uncle of the son of 'Ata, reported: Asma' sent me to 'Abdullah bin 'Umar saying: The news has reached me that you prohibit the use of three things: the striped robe. saddle cloth made of red silk. and the fasting in the holy month of Rajab. 'Abdullah said to me: So far as what you say about fasting in the month of Rajab, how about one who observes continuous fasting? -and so far as what you say about the striped garment, I heard Umar bin Khatab say that he had heard from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : He who wears silk garment has no share for him (in the Hereafter), and I am afraid it may not be that striped garment; and so far as the red saddle clotb is concerned that is the saddle cloth of'Abdullah and it is red. I went back to Asma' and informed her. whereupon she said: Here is the cloak of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . and she brought out to me that cloak made of Persian cloth with a hem of brocade, and its sleeves bordered with brocade and said: This wall Allah's Messenger's cloak with 'A'isha until she died, and when she died. I got possession of it. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) used to wear that, and we waslied it for the sick and sought cure thereby.
Hadith 2133
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Husain With the same chain of transmitters but no mention is made of these words: "(I have been sent as a distributor), so I distribute amongst you."

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قال : قال رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ وَزَغَةً فِي أَوَّلِ ضَرْبَةٍ ، فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَسَنَةً ، وَمَنْ قَتَلَهَا فِي الضَّرْبَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ ، فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَسَنَةً لِدُونِ الْأُولَى ، وَإِنْ قَتَلَهَا فِي الضَّرْبَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ ، فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَسَنَةً لِدُونِ الثَّانِيَةِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who killed a gecko with the first stroke for him is such and such a reward, and he who killed it with a second stroke for him is such and such reward less than the first one, and he who killed it with the third stroke for him is such and such a reward less than the second one.

أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لَهُ : " أَرَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، كَانَ أَبْيَضَ ، مَلِيحَ الْوَجْهِ " ، قَالَ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ الحْجَّاجِ : مَاتَ أَبُو الطُّفَيْلِ ، سَنَةَ مِائَةٍ ، وَكَانَ آخِرَ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Jurairi reported: I said to Abu Tufail: Did you see Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ? He said: Yes, he had a white handsome face. Muslim bin Hajjaj said: Abu Tufail who died in 10O Hijra was the last of the Companions of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .

Hadith 2384
'Amr bin al-'As reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent him in command of the army despatched to Dhat-as-Salasil. When 'Amr bin al-'As came back to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) he said: Who amongst people are dearest to you? He said: A'isha. He then said: Who amongst men? He said: Her father, and I said: And who next? He said: Umar. He then enumerated some other men.
Hadith 2475
Jarir bin 'Abdullah said: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) never refused me permission to see him since I embraced Islam and never looked at me but with a smile.

حَدَّثَنِي
عَبْدُ الحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَيَانٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا
خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ
بَيَانٍ ، عَنْ
قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ
جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ بَيْتٌ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ ذُو الْخَلَصَةِ ، وَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْكَعْبَةُ الْيَمَانِيَةُ ، وَالْكَعْبَةُ الشَّامِيَّةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : هَلْ أَنْتَ مُرِيحِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ ، وَالْكَعْبَةِ الْيَمَانِيَةِ ، وَالشَّامِيَّةِ ؟ فَنَفَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي مِائَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ فَكَسَرْنَاهُ ، وَقَتَلْنَا مَنْ وَجَدْنَا عِنْدَهُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا لَنَا وَلِأَحْمَسَ " .
Jabir reported that there was in pre-Islamic days a temple called Dhu'l- Khalasah and it was called the Yamanite Ka’bah or the northern Ka’bah. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said unto me: Will you rid me of Dhu'l-Khalasah and so I went forth at the head of 35O horsemen of the tribe of Ahmas and we destroyed it and killed whomsoever we found there. Then we came back to him (to the Holy Prophet) and informed him and he blessed us and the tribe of Ahmas
