Hadith 4
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَقْبَلْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعِي رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْأَشْعَرِيِّينَ ، أَحَدُهُمَا عَنْ يَمِينِي وَالْآخَرُ عَنْ يَسَارِي وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَاكُ فَكِلَاهُمَا سَأَلَ الْعَمَلَ قُلْتُ : وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ نَبِيًّا ، مَا أَطْلَعَانِي عَلَى مَا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمَا وَمَا شَعَرْتُ أَنَّهُمَا يَطْلُبَانِ الْعَمَلَ ، فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى سِوَاكِهِ تَحْتَ شَفَتِهِ قَلَصَتْ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّا لَا أَوْ لَنْ نَسْتَعِينَ عَلَى الْعَمَلِ مَنْ أَرَادَهُ ، وَلَكِنْ اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ " ، فَبَعَثَهُ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ ثُمَّ أَرْدَفَهُ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا .
´It was narrated from Abu Burdah that Abu Musa said:` "I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was using the Siwak and with me were two men of the Ash'aris - one on my right and the other on my left - who were seeking to be appointed as officials. I said: 'By the One Who sent you as a Prophet with the truth, they did not tell me why they wanted to come with me and I did not realize that they were seeking to be appointed as officials.' And I could see his Siwak beneath his lip, then it slipped and he said: 'We do not' - or; 'We will never appoint as an official anyone who seeks that. Rather you should go.'" So he sent his (Abu Musa) to Yemen, then he sent Mu'adh bin Jabal to go after him - may Allah be pleased with them.
Hadith 751
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي فَإِنَّهُ يَسْتُرُهُ إِذَا كَانَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ آخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ آخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَإِنَّهُ يَقْطَعُ صَلَاتَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ " . قُلْتُ : مَا بَالُ الْأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْأَصْفَرِ مِنَ الْأَحْمَرِ ؟ فَقَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي ، فَقَالَ : " الْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Dharr said:` The messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: "When anyone of you stands to pray, then he is screened if he has in front of him something as high as the back of a camel saddle. If he does not have something as high as the back of a camel saddle in front of him, then his prayer is nullified by a woman, a donkey or a black dog." I (one of the narrators)said: "What is the difference between a black dog, a yellow one and a red one?" He said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) just like you and he said:"The black dog is a shaitan."
Hadith 1879
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَى زَيْدًا وَجَعْفَرًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجِيءَ خَبَرُهُمْ ، فَنَعَاهُمْ وَعَيْنَاهُ تَذْرِفَانِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas:` that the Messenger of Allah announced the news of the death of Zaid and Ja'far before news of them came. He announced their death and his eyes were overflowing with tears.
Hadith 2012
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قال : شَكَوْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ , فَقُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , الْحَفْرُ عَلَيْنَا لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ شَدِيدٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " احْفِرُوا وَأَعْمِقُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي قَبْرٍ وَاحِدٍ " , قَالُوا : فَمَنْ نُقَدِّمُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " قَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " , قَالَ : فَكَانَ أَبِي ثَالِثَ ثَلَاثَةٍ فِي قَبْرٍ وَاحِدٍ .
´It was narrated that Hisham bin 'Amir said:` "We complained to the Messenger of Allah on the day of Uhud, saying: 'O Messneger of Allah, it is too difficult for us to dig a grave for each person.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Dig graves and make them good and deep, and bury two or three in one grave.' They said: 'Who should we put in first, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Put in first the one who knew more Qur'an."' He said: "My father was the third of three in one grave."
Hadith 2013
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قال : سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أُصِيبَ مَنْ أُصِيبَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَصَابَ النَّاسَ جِرَاحَاتٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ : " احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " .
´It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Hisham bin 'Amir that his father said:` "On the day of Uhud some of the people among the Muslims were killed, and people were wounded. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Dig graves and make them wide, and bury two or three in a grave, and put the one who knew more Qur'an in first."'
Hadith 2017
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قال : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ جَهْدٌ شَدِيدٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي قَبْرٍ " ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , فَمَنْ نُقَدِّمُ ؟ قَالَ : " قَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " .
´It was narrated that Hisham bin 'Amir said:` "On the day of Uhud the people were exhausted. The Prophet said: 'Dig graves and make them wide, and bury two or three in a grave.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who should we 'put in first? He said: 'Put in first the one who knew the Qur'an most."'
Hadith 2018
أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : اشْتَدَّ الْجِرَاحُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، فَشُكِيَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا فِي الْقَبْرِ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " .
´It was narrated from Sa'd bin Hisham bin 'Amir that his father said:` "Many people were wounded on the day of Uhud and complaints were made to the Messenger of Allah about that. He said: 'Dig graves and make them good and wide, and bury two or three in a grave, and put in first the one who knew the Qur'an most."'
Hadith 2019
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " احْفِرُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " .
´It was narrated from Hisham bin 'Amir that the Messenger of Allah said:` "Dig graves and dig them well, and bury two or three (together), and put in first the one who knew the Qur'an most."
Hadith 2020
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قال : قُتِلَ أَبِي يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " , فَكَانَ أَبِي ثَالِثَ ثَلَاثَةٍ ، وَكَانَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا فَقُدِّمَ .
´It was narrated that Hisham bin 'Amir said:` "My father was killed on the day of Uhud, and the Prophet said: 'Dig graves and make them good and wide, and bury two or three in a grave, and put in first the one who knew the Qur'an most.' My father was the third of three, and the one who knew the Qur'an most was placed (in the grave) first."
Hadith 2727
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا يَقُولُ : قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ : " جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ حَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ ، ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْهَى عَنْهَا ، وَقَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ بِتَحْرِيمِهِ " .
´'Imran bin Husain said:` "The Messenger of Allah combined Hajj and "Umrah, then he passed away before he could forbid that, and before Qur'an was revealed forbidding it.
Hadith 4071
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ ، قَالَ : أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنِّي رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ . فَأَلْقَى لَهُ أَبُو مُوسَى وِسَادَةً لِيَجْلِسَ عَلَيْهَا , فَأُتِيَ بِرَجُلٍ كَانَ يَهُودِيًّا فَأَسْلَمَ ثُمَّ كَفَرَ ، فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ : " لَا أَجْلِسُ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ , قَضَاءُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ " ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ , فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ قَعَدَ .
´It was narrated from Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa Al-Ash'ari, from his father:` "That the Prophet [SAW] sent him to Yemen, then he sent Mu'adh bin Jabal after that. When he arrived he said: 'O people, I am the envoy of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] to you.' Abu Musa gave him a cushion to sit down, then a man was brought who had been a Jew, then he became a Muslim, then he reverted to Kufr. Mu'adh said: 'I will not sit down until he is killed; this is the decree of Allah and His Messenger,' (saying it) three times. When he was killed, he sat down."
Hadith 4081
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا نَصْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَقَدْ أَغْلَظَ لِرَجُلٍ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ , فَقُلْتُ : أَلَا أَضْرِبُ عُنُقَهُ . فَانْتَهَرَنِي ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : أَبُو نَصْرٍ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ , وَرَوَاهُ عَنْهُ يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ , فَأَسْنَدَهُ .
´Abu Nasr narrated from Abu Barzah, that he said:` "I came to Abu Bakr when he had spoken harshly to a man who had answered back. I said: 'Shall I not strike his neck (kill him)?' He rebuked me, and said: 'That is not for anyone after the Messenger of Allah [SAW].'"
Hadith 4082
أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ فَغَضِبَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَاشْتَدَّ غَضَبُهُ عَلَيْهِ جِدًّا ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ ذَلِكَ ، قُلْتُ : يَا خَلِيفَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ , أَضْرِبُ عُنُقَهُ . فَلَمَّا ذَكَرْتُ الْقَتْلَ أَضْرَبَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ الْحَدِيثِ أَجْمَعَ إِلَى غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ مِنَ النَّحْوِ , فَلَمَّا تَفَرَّقْنَا أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَبَا بَرْزَةَ ، مَا قُلْتَ : وَنَسِيتُ الَّذِي ، قُلْتُ : قُلْتُ : ذَكِّرْنِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَمَا تَذْكُرُ مَا قُلْتَ ؟ ! ، قُلْتُ : لَا وَاللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَرَأَيْتَ حِينَ رَأَيْتَنِي غَضِبْتُ عَلَى رَجُلٍ ؟ ، فَقُلْتَ : أَضْرِبُ عُنُقَهُ يَا خَلِيفَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ، أَمَا تَذْكُرُ ذَلِكَ أَوَ كُنْتَ فَاعِلًا ذَلِكَ ، قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ , وَاللَّهِ وَالْآنَ إِنْ أَمَرْتَنِي فَعَلْتُ . قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ مَا هِيَ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ أَحْسَنُ الْأَحَادِيثِ وَأَجْوَدُهَا , وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ .
´It was narrated from Yunus bin 'Ubaid, from Humaid bin Hilal, from 'Abdullah bin Mutarrif bin Ash-Shikhkhir, from Abu Barzah Al-Aslami, that he said:` "We were with Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, and he got angry with a man from among the Muslims, and became very angry indeed. When I saw that, I said: 'O Khalifah of the Messenger of Allah, shall I strike his neck?' When I mentioned killing him, he stopped being angry with him and changed the subject. When we parted, he sent for me and said: 'O Abu Barzah, what did you say?' I said: 'I have forgotten what I said; remind me.' He said: 'Do you not remember what you said?' I said: 'No, by Allah.' He said: 'Don't you remember, when you saw me angry with a man, and said, 'I will strike his neck O Khalifah of the Messenger of Allah?' Don't you remember that? Would you really have done that?' I said: 'Yes, by Allah, and if you tell me to do it now, I will do it.' He said: 'By Allah, that is not for anyone after Muhammad [SAW].'"
Hadith 4440
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُغِيرَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُغَفَّلٍ ، قَالَ : " دُلِّيَ جِرَابٌ مِنْ شَحْمٍ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ فَالْتَزَمْتُهُ ، قُلْتُ : لَا أُعْطِي أَحَدًا مِنْهُ شَيْئًا ، فَالْتَفَتُّ , فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَبَسَّمُ " .
´'Abdullah bin Mughaffal said:` "A bag of fat was thrown on the day of Khaibar, and I caught it and said: "I will not give anything of this to anyone.' I turned around and saw the Messenger of Allah there, smiling." (Sahih )
Hadith 4849
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ غَالِبٍ التَّمَّارِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى , قَالَ : " قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّ الْأَصَابِعَ سَوَاءٌ عَشْرًا عَشْرًا مِنَ الْإِبِلِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Musa said:` "The Messenger of Allah ruled that the fingers are the same and (the Diyah is ) ten camels for each.
Hadith 5379
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو رِفَاعَةَ : انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , رَجُلٌ غَرِيبٌ جَاءَ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ دِينِهِ لَا يَدْرِي مَا دِينُهُ ؟ ,فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَرَكَ خُطْبَتَهُ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيَّ , فَأُتِيَ بِكُرْسِيٍّ خِلْتُ قَوَائِمَهُ حَدِيدًا , فَقَعَدَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَجَعَلَ يُعَلِّمُنِي مِمَّا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى خُطْبَتَهُ فَأَتَمَّهَا " .
´It was narrated that Humaid bin Hilal said:` "Abu Rifa'ah said: 'I came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] while he was delivering a Khutbah, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, a stranger has come to ask about his religion, for he does not know what his religion is." The Messenger of Allah [SAW] stopped delivering his Khutbah and turned to me. A chair was brought, and I think its legs were of iron. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sat down on it and started to teach me what Allah has taught him, then he went and completed his Khutbah.'"
