Hadith 656
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الضُّبَعِيُّ السَّدُوسِيُّ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِشَيْءٍ سَأَلَ أَصَدَقَةٌ هِيَ أَمْ هَدِيَّةٌ ؟ فَإِنْ قَالُوا : صَدَقَةٌ لَمْ يَأْكُلْ ، وَإِنْ قَالُوا : هَدِيَّةٌ أَكَلَ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَأَنَسٍ ، وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، وَأَبِي عَمِيرَةَ جَدِّ مُعَرِّفِ بْنِ وَاصِلٍ وَاسْمُهُ رُشَيْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، وَمَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، وَأَبِي رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ . وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ أَيْضًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَجَدُّ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ اسْمُهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ حَيْدَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَحَدِيثُ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ .
´Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father, from his grandfather who said:` "When something was brought to him, the Messenger of Allah would ask: 'Is this charity or a gift?' If they said: 'Charity.' He would not eat it, and if they said, 'A gift' he would eat it."
Hadith 1417
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْكِنْدِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ , عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَبَسَ رَجُلًا فِي تُهْمَةٍ , ثُمَّ خَلَّى عَنْهُ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ بَهْزٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ , وَقَدْ رَوَى إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ , هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَتَمَّ مِنْ هَذَا وَأَطْوَلَ .
´Narrated Bahz bin Hakim:` from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (ﷺ) imprisoned a man for an accusation, then he let him go.
Hadith 1897
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَنْ أَبَرُّ ؟ قَالَ : " أُمَّكَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " أُمَّكَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " أُمَّكَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ أَبَاكَ ، ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ ، فَالْأَقْرَبَ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَعَائِشَةَ ، وَأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَبَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ هُوَ أَبْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنُ حَيْدَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ شُعْبَةُ فِي بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْحَدِيثِ ، وَرَوَى عَنْهُ مَعْمَرٌ ، وَالثَّوْرِيُّ ، وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْأَئِمَّةِ .
Muawiyah bin Haidah Qushayri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! With whom should I do good and maintain ties of kinship?" He replied, "With your mother." I asked, "Then with whom?" He said, "With your mother." I asked, "Then with whom?" He said, "With your mother." I asked, "Then with whom?" He said, "Then with your father, then with your relatives, then the closest among them, then those after them, step by step." .
Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan. Shu’bah has spoken about Bahz bin Hakeem, but according to the scholars of hadith, he is trustworthy. From him, Ma’mar, Thawri, Hammad bin Salamah, and many Imams of hadith have narrated.
2- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Abu Hurairah, Abdullah bin Amr, Aisha, and Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with them).
Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan. Shu’bah has spoken about Bahz bin Hakeem, but according to the scholars of hadith, he is trustworthy. From him, Ma’mar, Thawri, Hammad bin Salamah, and many Imams of hadith have narrated.
2- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Abu Hurairah, Abdullah bin Amr, Aisha, and Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with them).
Hadith 2192
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنِي ؟ قَالَ : " هَا هُنَا " وَنَحَا بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الشَّامِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
Muawiyah bin Haydah Qushayri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! At that time, where do you command us to go?" He pointed towards the land of Sham and said, "There."

Hadith 2315
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " وَيْلٌ لِلَّذِي يُحَدِّثُ بِالْحَدِيثِ لِيُضْحِكَ بِهِ الْقَوْمَ فَيَكْذِبُ ، وَيْلٌ لَهُ وَيْلٌ لَهُ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .
´Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father, from his grandfather that Prophet (s.a.w) said:` "Woe to the one who talks about something to make the people laugh, in which he lies. Woe to him! Woe to him!"
Hadith 2424
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّكُمْ مَحْشُورُونَ رِجَالًا وَرُكْبَانًا وَتُجَرُّونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ " , وفي الباب عن أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:` "You shall be gathered walking, riding, and dragged upon your faces." There is a narration on this topic from Abu Hurairah. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan [Sahih].
Hadith 2571
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ بَحْرَ الْمَاءِ وَبَحْرَ الْعَسَلِ وَبَحْرَ اللَّبَنِ وَبَحْرَ الْخَمْرِ ، ثُمَّ تُشَقَّقُ الْأَنْهَارُ بَعْدُ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَحَكِيمُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ هُوَ وَالِدُ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، وَالْجُرَيْرِيُّ يُكْنَى : أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ وَاسْمُهُ : سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ .
´Hakim bin Mu'awiyah narrated from his father, that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:` "Indeed in Paradise there is a sea of water, and a sea of honey,and a sea of milk, and a sea of wine, then the rivers shall split off afterwards."
Hadith 2769
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، عَوْرَاتُنَا مَا نَأْتِي مِنْهَا وَمَا نَذَرُ ؟ قَالَ : " احْفَظْ عَوْرَتَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ زَوْجَتِكَ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ : يَكُونُ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ ، قَالَ : إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ لَا يَرَاهَا أَحَدٌ فَافْعَلْ ، قُلْتُ : وَالرَّجُلُ يَكُونُ خَالِيًا ؟ قَالَ : فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُسْتَحْيَا مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَجَدُّ بَهْزٍ اسْمُهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ حَيْدَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ ، وَقَدْ رَوَى الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ وَالِدُ بَهْزٍ .
´Narrated Bahz bin Hakim:` "My father narrated to me from my grandfather, who said: 'I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Regarding our 'Awrah, what of it must we cover and what of it may we leave?" He said: "Protect your 'Awrah except from your wife or what your right hand possesses."' He said: "What about a man with another man?" He said: "If you are able to not let anyone see it, then do so." I said: "What about a man when he is alone?" He said: "Allah is most deserving of being shy from Him."
Hadith 2794
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، عَوْرَاتُنَا مَا نَأْتِي مِنْهَا وَمَا نَذَرُ ؟ قَالَ : " احْفَظْ عَوْرَتَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ زَوْجَتِكَ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِذَا كَانَ الْقَوْمُ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي بَعْضٍ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ لَا يَرَاهَا أَحَدٌ فَلَا يَرَاهَا " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُنَا خَالِيًا ؟ قَالَ : " فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُسْتَحْيَا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .

Hadith 3001
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى : كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ سورة آل عمران آية 110 ، قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ تَتِمُّونَ سَبْعِينَ أُمَّةً أَنْتُمْ خَيْرُهَا وَأَكْرَمُهَا عَلَى اللَّهِ " هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَقَدْ رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ نَحْوَ هَذَا ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرُوا فِيهِ كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ سورة آل عمران آية 110 .
´It is narrated from Muawiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that` he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explaining the saying of Allah «كنتم خير أمة أخرجت للناس» 1: "You are the completion (and perfection) of seventy nations; you are the best and most honorable of them all in the sight of Allah." © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan (good),

Hadith 3143
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّكُمْ مَحْشُورُونَ رِجَالًا وَرُكْبَانًا وَيُجَرُّونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .
