Hadith 134
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ظَالِمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " اثْبُتْ حِرَاءُ فَمَا عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ ، أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ ، أَوْ شَهِيدٌ ، وَعَدَّهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ ، وَعُثْمَانُ ، وَعَلِيٌّ ، وَطَلْحَةُ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، وَسَعْدٌ ، وَابْنُ عَوْفٍ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ " .
´It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Zaid:` 'I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Stand firm, O (mountain of) Hira', for there is no one upon you but a Prophet, a Siddiq or a martyr.' " Then he listed them as follows: "The Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali, Talhah, Zubair, Sa'd, Ibn 'Awf and Sa'eed bin Zaid."
Hadith 286
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَحُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَتَهَجَّدُ ، يَشُوصُ فَاهُ بِالسِّوَاكِ " .
´It was narrated that Hudhaifah said:` "Whenever the Messenger of Allah got up for prayer at night to pray Tahajjud (night optional prayer), he would clean his mouth with the tooth stick."
Hadith 899M
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَالْأَعْمَشِ ، وُحُصَيْنٍ ، وَأَبِي هَاشِمٍ ، وَحَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، وَعَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ الأَسْوَدِ ، وَأَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ .
A similar marfu' hadith is also narrated through this chain.
Hadith 899M
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، وَمَنْصُورٍ ، وَحُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ . ح قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ ، وَأَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُعَلِّمُهُمُ التَّشَهُّدَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
With this chain also, it is narrated from Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to teach him the Tashahhud, then narrated further similar to the previous hadith.
Hadith 1004
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ بِيَدِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، فَأَوْقَفَنِي عَلَى شَيْخٍ بِالرَّقَّةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ : وَابِصَةُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، فَقَالَ : " صَلَّى رَجُلٌ خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُعِيدَ " .
´It was narrated that Hilal bin Yasaf said:` “Ziyad bin Abu-Ja’d took me by the hand and made me stand near an old man at Raqqah, whose name was Wabisah bin Ma’bad. He said: ‘A man performed prayer behind the row on his own, and the Prophet (ﷺ) commanded him to repeat the prayer.’”
Hadith 1270
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَقَدْ جِئْتُكَ مِنْ عِنْدِ قَوْمٍ مَا يَتَزَوَّدُ لَهُمْ رَاعٍ ، وَلَا يَخْطِرُ لَهُمْ ، فَحْلٌ ، فَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ ، فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا مَرِيئًا طَبَقًا مَرِيعًا غَدَقًا عَاجِلًا غَيْرَ رَائِثٍ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ ، فَمَا يَأْتِيهِ أَحَدٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ مِنَ الْوُجُوهِ إِلَّا قَالُوا قَدْ أُحْيِينَا " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “A Bedouin came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you from people who have no place to graze their flocks and even their male camels have become weak. He mounted the pulpit and praised Allah, then he said: ‘O Allah, send upon us all abundant, wholesome rain, productive and plentiful, sooner rather than later.’ Then the rain came down, and no one came to him from any direction but they said: ‘We have been revived.’”
Hadith 1735
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ : " مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ طَعِمَ الْيَوْمَ " ، قُلْنَا : مِنَّا طَعِمَ ، وَمِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَطْعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَأَتِمُّوا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِكُمْ مَنْ كَانَ طَعِمَ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَطْعَمْ فَأَرْسِلُوا إِلَى أَهْلِ الْعَرُوضِ فَلْيُتِمُّوا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِمْ ، قَالَ : يَعْنِي أَهْلَ الْعَرُوضِ حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ .
´It was narrated from Muhammad bin Saifi that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us on the Day of ‘Ashura’:` “Has anyone among you eaten today?” We said: “Some of us have eaten and some of us have not.” He said: “Complete the rest of your day (i.e., do not eat for the rest of the day), whoever has eaten and whoever has not eaten. And send word to the people of the suburbs to complete the rest of their day.” He was referring to the people of the suburbs around Al-Madinah.
Hadith 2305
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ الْبَارِقِيِّ يَرْفَعُهُ ، قَالَ : " الْإِبِلُ عِزٌّ لِأَهْلِهَا وَالْغَنَمُ بَرَكَةٌ وَالْخَيْرُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِي الْخَيْلِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Urwah Al-Bariqi said in a Marfu’ report:` "Camels are the pride of their owners, and sheep are a blessing, and goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 3238
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَصَابَ النَّاسُ ضِبَابًا ، فَاشْتَوَوْهَا فَأَكَلُوا مِنْهَا ، فَأَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا ضَبًّا فَشَوَيْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخَذَ جَرِيدَةً فَجَعَلَ يَعُدُّ بِهَا أَصَابِعَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ أُمَّةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُسِخَتْ دَوَابَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، وَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهَا هِيَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اشْتَوَوْهَا فَأَكَلُوهَا ، فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ .
´It was narrated that Thabit bin Yazid Al-Ansari said:` “We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) and the people caught a mastigure. They grilled it and ate from it. Then I caught a mastigure so I grilled it and brought it to the Prophet (ﷺ). He took a palm stalk and started counting his finger with it, and said: ‘A nation from among the Children of Israel was turned into beasts of the earth, and I do not know if this is they.’ I said: ‘The people have grilled them and eaten them.’ He did not eat it and he did not forbid it.”
Hadith 3513
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيِّ , عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ , عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ , عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا رُقْيَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ عَيْنٍ أَوْ حُمَةٍ " .
´It was narrated from Buraidah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There is no Ruqyah except for the evil eye or from the sting of a scorpion.”
Hadith 3839
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ , عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ , عَنْ هِلَالٍ , عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ دُعَاءٍ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَتْ : كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ , وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ " .
´It was narrated that Farwah bin Nawfal said:` "I asked 'Aishah about a supplication that the Messenger of Allah (saas) used to say. She said that he used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri ma 'amiltu, wa min sharri ma lam a'mal (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of that which I have done and the evil of that which I have not done).'"
