Hadith 419
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنَا أَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِوَقْتِ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ ، " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّيهَا لِسُقُوطِ الْقَمَرِ لِثَالِثَةٍ " .
Narrated An-Numan ibn Bashir: I am the one who is best informed of the time of this prayer, i. e. the night prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer it at the hour when the moon went down on its third night.
Hadith 1122
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ وَيَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ بِ سَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى و هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ ، قَالَ : وَرُبَّمَا اجْتَمَعَا فِي يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ فَقَرَأَ بِهِمَا " .
Al-Numan bin Bashir said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite at the twoEidds (festivals) and on Friday, "Glorify the name of your most high Lord. " (87) and "Has the story of the overwhelming reached you?" (88) He said: When a festival ('Id) and a Friday coincided, he recited them both (at the two prayers).
Hadith 4458
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُرْفُطَةَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا يُقَالُ لَهُ : عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُنَيْنٍ وَقَعَ عَلَى جَارِيَةِ امْرَأَتِهِ ، فَرَفَعَ إِلَى النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ وَهُوَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " لأَقْضِيَنَّ فِيكَ بِقَضِيَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِنْ كَانَتْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَكَ جَلَدْتُكَ مِائَةً ، وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكْنُ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَكَ رَجَمْتُكَ بِالْحِجَارَةِ " . فَوَجَدُوهُ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ فَجَلَدَهُ مِائَةً . قَالَ قَتَادَة : كَتَبْتُ إِلَى حَبِيبِ بْن سَالِمٍ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ بِهَذَا .
Narrated An-Numan ibn Bashir: Habib ibn Salim said: A man called Abdur Rahman ibn Hunayn had intercourse with his wife's slave-girl. The matter was brought to an-Numan ibn Bashir who was the Governor of Kufah. He said: I shall decide between you in accordance with the decision of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If she made her lawful for you, I shall flog you one hundred lashes. If she did not make her lawful for you, I shall stone you to death. So they found that she had made her lawful for him. He, therefore, flogged him one hundred lashes. Qatadah said: I wrote to Habib bin Salim; so he wrote this (tradition) to me.
Hadith 4459
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُرْفُطَةَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَأْتِي جَارِيَةَ امْرَأَتِهِ ، قَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَتْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ جُلِدَ مِائَةً ، وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ رَجَمْتُهُ " .
Narrated An-Numan ibn Bashir: The Prophet ﷺ said: about a man who had (unlawful) intercourse with his wife's slave girl: If she made her lawful for him, he will be flogged one hundred lashes; if she did not make her lawful for him, I shall stone him.
